Charity, A Short Film

Recommended Posts

So, as some of you know, I've spent a lot of my time over the last few months making a short film. I'm happy to say that it's finally available online, and I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you. I just wanna say a huge thank you from everyone here who donated to the film, and that seriously means so much to me. I've got so much to learn, but I'm happy with the final product (which will still change a bit, we're not 100% happy with the grade, but hey) and I got to work with some quite well known actors (our lead was a series regular in Broadchurch and her mum has done a huge amount of television work).

I can't post the film because we have to keep it private so that we can submit it to festivals, but if anyone wants to drop me a PM with their email address in, or just drop their email address in here, I could send you a link to the film with the password.

It'd be really helpful if people could drop their feedback in this thread so we can take it on board. But yeah, hope some of you are interested in seeing it!

Turns out I don't need anyone's email, just drop me a message in here or by PM if you wanna see it and I'll give you the link and password. Thanks to the people who have shown an interest so far :) the film's basically finished, but we'll still tweak the colour of the picture.

Well, that was shit.

Not a single car chase, no explosions and no dragons, pirates, zombies or robots.

But seriously, it's really, really good. I'm no cinema expert but it's shot beautifully, well framed and edited. The acting is strong and the dialogue seems authentic and I like that it's not explicitly stated why Charity seems so anxious and upset about her brother's return, so it's left to the viewers imagination.

I'm really glad you liked the ambiguity. It's always going to split people, but it's something that really attracted me to doing this film. Thanks for your comments, they mean a lot to me. And thanks for your donation, it went a long way! (You're even in the credits ;) )
