Parts you hate in games you love

This thread is annoying me, in as much as I KNOW there are so many instances of this that I have and I'm just drawing a blank on all of them  I'd probably agree to an extent on the Ellie missions in Last of Us, particularly after the bit with the horse. Also early on in the game I found that bit in the knackered skyscraper annoying, where there's a bunch of infected roaming about that you have to take out and that ONE clicker hanging about made it so much more difficult.

Actually, the Ellie bit where you're running through the blizzard trying to find where to go annoyed me because I was just running about aimlessly for fucking ages and couldn't see anywhere to go no matter where it went, went on for ages. Bloody blizzards.

The soundtrack was amazing. Like I said before the cover of Bad Moon Rising as you are heading for the final part of the game really did it for me. That game was such a missed opportunity for something special.

I don't remember this at all from my playthrough. Do you mean the bit where you're driving to the casino? Cause if it is that bit, in my game I had a cover of Paint It Black.

This one in fact, not really very good.

Huh, had no idea you got different versions of songs at the end. My one was much better, that cover is pants.

Yeah, I'm fuming tbh. From looking the Bad Moon Rising cover up on YouTube it seems to be that cover they used in the trailer for Green Room too. Which would have been neat and probably more fitting in-game.

THANKS GAME.

It really made the ending special for me. The lyrics made sense in that scene.

Sky Chase is the one where you have to hold on to things whilst the wind blows against you, yeah? Sodding hate that level. Love Labyrinth though.

Sky Chase is just an autoscroller (which goes against like...the whole idea of Sonic) on a plane.

Bioshock:

Spoiler

That part near the end when you have to find different parts of a Big Daddy suit before using it to defend the Little Sisters as they gather ADAM from corpses. You've just had the major twist and are ready to take down Fontaine, only to be forced into a drawn-out fetch quest/escort mission combination.

I can see that having the final boss fight (which, incidentally, also wasn't particularly great) immediately after the reveal would have meant that its impact wouldn't have had time to set in, but there must have been a more fun way than that to get some breathing space.

Back to Dark Corners of the Earth... wow, how the hell was I supposed to figure out that final boss battle without looking it up? Especially when it involves the protagonist suddenly using an ability that you have no way of knowing you have. And of course, it's a Bethesda game, so I had to worry about the game deciding to crash in the middle of the battle.

The Innsmouth parts are really good. Everything after... well, it's still a great story but the gameplay goes to shit once you're on the boat. It also took MGS3's "do first aid on yourself to heal yourself" gimmick and improved upon it too, the fact that you can completely heal an eye that's been clawed off with bandages aside.
