  1. Anyone wanna cut these Awesome Kong pics..... a little bit of a different look to her..... Thanks
  2. The only time I noticed the time go by was during the last 40 minutes. Up until that point, I could have swore it had only been 45 minutes maximum. Like others and myself have said before, you get sucked right into this world James Cameron created. Oh, and I don't think there really were any "furry" things, all the animals seemed armored not furry. The graphics were amazing.
  3. I thought is was absolutely terrific. You get sucked right into the movie, and the 3 hrs really do not seem that long. That being said, I didn't see it in 3d (it was sold out, so we had to see it just regularly). Is 3d really that much better? Does it make a big difference or no?
  4. What about... Trish vs Mickie James at WM 22 Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy Ladder Match for WWE Championship at RAW Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair WrestleMania 24
  5. 1. Modern Family 2. The Biggest Loser 3. United States Of Tara 4. Canada's Worst Driver 5. Pushing Daisies 6. True Blood 7. Top Chef 8. ER 9. The Middle 10. The Office
  6. 100% with you on this.... Honestly, I initially had put Bill in my list (at #2) and then I thought, not really a villain. I mean, he shot her out of anger, but was such a good guy you *almost* didn't want to see him take that 5th step. Dick thing to do in the flashback, but during the entier KBV2 I just felt as though he wasn't as big a villain as the people working for him.
  7. 1. The Joker (Dark Knight) Duh... No explanation needed. Heath Ledgers Joker is the greatest villain of all time, no questions asked. 2. Magneto (X-Men) He is the only real villain in X-Men, and honnestly what makes him worse is he is almost as much an ally to the X-Men as he is a threat. 3. Damien (The Omen) Creepy little devil child who kills his f'n parents.... Yep, thats enough for me. 4. Elle Driver (Kill Bill) I honnestly think she was the most villainous character of the movies. All of the other ones acknowledged that she deserves to be mad, and deserves her revenge and what they did was wrong... except for Elle. She stuck to her nothing wrong was done and that she had it coming attitude. 5. Esther (Orphan) Again, creepy little child(ish) who tries to kill her family. Maybe its the teacher in me, but that always gets me. 6. Baby (The Devils Rejects) Close one between she and Otto, but she's a step above him because she is really just batshit insane! She's hot and murderous. And has no remorse at all, but geniounly seems to enjoy doing what she does to them. 7. Otis (The Devils Rejects) Like I said above, it was close between he and Baby, but she gets a little more of a nudge. However, Otto is one crazy SOB. He is more ruthless than baby, aswell as aggressive, but the fact that she looks like she enjoys doing it is just more evil to me. 8. O-Ren Ishii (Kill Bill) Probably the most organised and viscious of the villains. However, she places so low because she goes soft at the end (like very very end of her life). However, she does kick serious ass the rest of the time. Probably my favorite character next to the bride. 9. Spike (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) Spike, like O-Ren Ishii places low because he goes soft as the series progresses. More than that, he becomes one of the heroes. However, when he was bad he was one of the baddest guys you ever saw on the show. 10. Madison Lee(Charlies Angels: Full Throttle) Tough call in this one, but Madison Lee is a good villain, because she really pretends to be the good guy along with the girls for the most part of the movie, but when you find out shes bad you find out big time.
  8. I'm trying to update my data (May 2009 Bill's) and I cannot find the following GLORY Girls in the update. Anyone have stats or at least know if they are under different names? Thanks... Trina Tweetie Kacie Danyells Constance Cathy Cougar Bacardi Fantasy (different than the one in the game) Jade (UK) Jelena Chrissy Johnson Miss Dixie Pandora Boxx/Miss Rachel Super J Also, stats for these girls if possible Katie Kincaid Kristina McGraw
  9. These are some of my favorite TV shows right now... I didn't put sitcoms in here though... Six Feet Under, there are 5 seasons. Dead Like Me, 2 seasons and a movie. Pushing Daisies, 2 seasons. Dexter, 3 seasons. Oz, I don't even know how many seasons but it something I've recently gotten into. Big Love, 3 seasons I believe.
  10. Can I have a pic of Jonah Edelman, Vane & Pierre Shadows (both of BSE), She Nay Nay on KyKy please...
  11. Bettie Page Shelley Winters Sophia Loren Elizabeth Taylor Audrey Hepburn Goldie Hawn Marilyn Monroe Penny Banner Jane Fonda Jayne Mansfield Brigitte Bardot Jean Harlow Ava Gardner
  12. Well my first real celebrity crush was a long long time ago... back around 1993 or so... Shania Twain. I was about 6 or so at the time, and I thought she was the best looking woman I had ever seen... Quite frankly, she is still to this day in my top 10! Back then... And now... Verdict... looks better now than what she did back then to be honnest... Around the same time I developped a crush on another idol of the 1990s, Amy Jo Johnson, smply known to me and my friends as the Pink Ranger. I can't say I still have a crush on her, but she still seems good looking enough. Back then... And now... Verdict... She is still good looking today, but her star has unfortunatly fallen though. Pink Ranger for Life! Then I started getting a little older... about 5 years later actually, when I discovered the gem that is Sarah Michelle Gellar. She was Buffy The Vampire Slayer and she was HOT! She may no longer be Buffy, but is still HOT and still in my Top 10! Back then... And now... Verdict... Still has it all! Yep... not much else to say... Finally, one of the last big crushes I had in the 1990s, she was a virtually unknown canadian teenage girl co-hosting a little canadian TV show called Popular Mechanics For Kids, she happened to be amazingly HOT (or so that's what my 10-12 year old self thought...) To be honnest with you, I seemed to have been alone on this one at the time, as none of my friends thought she was all that. Well let me tell you, I proved them wrong, because Elisha Cuthbert grew up... in all the right places... And I was right all along, because they all agree with me now. Back then... And now... Verdict... Damn! She is still hot to this day, and everyone seems to have come around to my side... lol
  13. From my personal favorite to least favorite (top 10 anyways...) 1. Ellen Degeneres 2. Louis-Josée Houde (he's a young comedian from Québec, he also plays the coroner in Bon Cop, Bad Cop for those who've seen it) 3. Joan Rivers 4. Ron White 5. Roseanne 6. Mitch Hedberg 7. George Carlin 8. Brent Butt 9. Yvon Deschamps (he's another one from Québec, I believe he's retired now though) 10. Paula Poundstone
  14. I'm really happy Kate Winslet won tonight, I mean she deserved it many times over the yeasr and it was an awesome moment to see her geet the win for once. However, I gotta say that I'm upset by Penn's win, because I really thought Brad Pitt deserved it so much more. As always though, the Academy really overlooked some of the best performances this year, notably Aaron Eckhart for The Dark Knight, aswell as Cate Blanchett for Benjamin Button. I would have personally replaced Philip Seymore Hoffman with Aaron Eckhart; and also Melissa Leo for Cate Blanchett. Other than that, this was certainly the most competitive Oscars in a long time.
  15. Mandy Moore... AGAIN!!!! ugh just ugh...... anti-climatic end as far as I'm concerned... She'd be nowhere near my top 10! Rest of the list was aight though.
  16. 14, 15: Cat Power 16: Cherry Bomb 23: Zack Ryder (I think it's him) 29: Greg Valentine 30: Heidenreich 35, 36: Iron Sheik 41: Roxie Cotton (I'm pretty sure that's her) 42: Jimmy Snuka 45: Keny Dykstra 48: King Kong Bundy 49: Lance Storm 50, 51, 52: LuFisto
  17. 1. Storm 2. Gambit 3. Rogue 4. Mystique 5. Magneto 6. Spider Man 7. Beast / Hank McCoy 8. Cyclops 9. Psyloche 10. Professor X
  18. Here are my predictions... BEST PICTURE: "Benjamin Button", "Frost/Nixon", "Milk", "The Reader", "Slumdog Millionaire" Well, I'm going to have to predict Slumdog Millionaire because of the hype it's been getting. Not something I want to see happen, as I think Benjamin Buttom was the best movie this year, without a doubt. My way and they'd win, but it'll probably go to Slumdog. BEST DIRECTOR: The same five movies, by David Fincher, Ron Howard, Gus Van Sant, Stephen Daldry, and Danny Boyle, respectively. Same reason as above. BEST ACTOR: Richard Jenkins ("The Visitor"), Frank Langella ("Frost/Nixon"), Sean Penn ("Milk"), Brad Pitt ("Benjamin Button"), Mickey Rourke ("The Wrestler") I think and hope that Brad Pitt will win. It was by far one of his best acting gigs to date, as he did a fantastic job. Rourke is probably a close runner-up but I think they'll go with Pitt. BEST ACTRESS: Anne Hathaway ("Rachel Getting Married"), Angelina Jolie ("Changeling"), Melissa Leo ("Frozen River"), Meryl Streep ("Doubt"), Kate Winslet ("The Reader") I really do think it will be her year this year, and I really hope it is. It seems like this is by far the hardest category to choose from, and Anne Hathaway has been getting rave reviews but I do think it'll either go to Kate or Angelina. I'd bet on Kate though. BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Josh Brolin ("Milk"), Robert Downey Jr. ("Tropic Thunder"), Heath Ledger ("The Dark Knight"), Michael Shannon ("Revolutionary Road"), Philip Seymour Hoffman ("Doubt") I honnestly do believe this was truely an inspiring performance, death or no death. Seriously, forget the circumstances. He should win, based on performance alone. BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Amy Adams ("Doubt"), Penelope Cruz ("Vicky Cristina Barcelona"), Viola Davis ("Doubt"), Marisa Tomei ("The Wrestler"), Taraji Henson ("Benjamin Button") She was phenomenal in this film aswell. I was not aware of her prior to this, but she really had one of the best performances of the film. She should win, and that's who I'd like to see win. BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: "Frozen River", "Happy-Go-Lucky", "In Bruges", "Milk", "WALL-E" BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY: "Benjamin Button", "Doubt", "Frost/Nixon", "The Reader", "Slumdog Millionaire" Those are my picks, and who I want to see win aswell. The only real conflict as far as who I want to see win vs who will win is the Benjamin Buttom/Slumdog thing in both screenplay and picture categories.
  19. That's a shame, it really is one of the best movies of the year. If you haven't seen it and you don't want to see it, how do you know it was too much? Yeah, AR really has no grounds to complain about Millionaire. Honestly, I have no interest in that film either, but I can't argue against something that I haven't seen. I am, however, a little bit disappointed that there wasn't even a single nomination for Repo! the Genetic Opera. One of the most unique films of the year, and I didn't see it represented anywhere. I agree with this statement based on the grounds that it had Anthony Head and therefore could not go wrong. Is there any news on any kind of DVD release of this? Has it been released and I missed it entirley? I've been interested for a while now. I am however very glad that Farrell picked up the Globe for Best Actor for a Comedy or Musical. That man is a personal idol of mine and I loved every second of In Bruges. EDIT: A certain little birdie that lives on a bay filled with Pirates has informed me where I can get hold of a copy. DVD release date is the 20th of this month. The extended soundtrack should also be released on that date. If you're a fan of the movie in any way, shape or form, you'll purchase one or both of them. Not because stealing movies is bad, but because the movie cost them $8.5 million to make, and because of Lionsgate's hesitance to properly promote the film or give it a proper theatrical run, it has only grossed less than $200,000 thus far. That is, admittedly, a small number in comparison to the cost of the film, but taking into account how many theatres actually showed it, the Per Theatre number is amazing. There's a lot of stuff that didn't make the final cut of the film for whatever reason, but only four deleted scenes will be on the DVD release. If they can turn this into a financial success, a Special Edition DVD with everything missing should be released at some point in the future. It's a shame how this movie's being treated... Darren Bousman saved that studio's ass... he did for them what Freddy Krueger did for New Line in the 80's, and they go and treat him like this. It's disgusting. Oh, I have no doubt in my mind that it is likely a good film (it must be!), nor am I camplaining, so to speak, that it won. I'm just disapointed (I guess) that the films I've seen, enjoyed and am interested in seeing lost out to a film I haven't seen and do not want to. That's all. Hopefully the Oscars will be a different story....
  20. I'm really dissapointed with the fact that Benjam,in Button got nothing... Haven't seen The Wrestler yet but I was really rooting for Brad Pitt though. That film was simply amazing. Another one I thougbht was too bad was¨Pitt not getting a supporting nom for his role in Burn After Reading, which was one of his best roles, certainly highligt of the film. But Heath deserved the win, regardless of the situation. And it is a shame that Frances McDormand didn't leave with the win either. Haven't seem Slumdog Millionaire, nor do I want to, so too much love to them as far as I'm concerned.
  21. The link for the 1.1 Version isn't working... anyone got it?
  22. Here I thought this might help... http://www.oscars.org/81academyawards/rule...eminderlist.pdf It is the official list of eligible films from the Academy...
  23. Well, it is no secret that here at EWB we do have a lot of movie buffs. For that reason, I thought we could do our own littel version of the Oscars here at EWB. This thread will be the nomination thread, and should last until mid-to late January. Now, you can nominate any feature film you want in here, so long as it was released in 2008 (January-April included). Also, I ask that you only nominate things that you've seen, not only heard of. Frankly, buzz or not, how can you nominate someone or something that you haven't witnessed? So anyways, this is how it works. We have the categories, you give your top 5 nominees, in order of 1-5. Nominee 1 being your favorite (worth 5 points) and nominee five being your least favorite of your nominations (worth 1 point). I would like to ask that we have no less than 3 nominations per category, though anything between 3 and 5 is acceptable. For those wondering, Wikipedia has a very complete list of films released in 2008 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=...until=Book+Lady, for those who need a refresher course of what they've seen. Categories are going to be... Best Visual Effects Best Film Editing Best Costume Design and Make Up Best Actor in a Supporting Role Best Actress in a Supporting Role Best Actor in a Lead Role Best Actress in a Lead Role Best Screenplay Best Director Best Picture So, with that I'll start the process with my own nominations... Bryan Bertino for The Strangers 5. Fernando Meirelles for Blindness Best Picture 1. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 2. The Dark Knight 3. The Strangers 4. Blindness 5. Vantage Point Well there you have it. I look forward to seeing other peoples' picks and favorites as opposed to mine. Frankly, it was a slow movie year for me and most of the ones I've seen have been older released I hadn't had the chance to see before now... Basically my nominations are based on 19 films... Blindness, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Dark Knight, The Eye, Funny Games, The Happening, Made Of Honor, Mirrors, One Missed Call, The Other Boleyn Girl, Prom Night, The Ruins, The Strangers, 10, 000 BC, Untraceable, Vantage Point, Wanted, What Happens In Vegas & You Don’t Mess With The Zohan. I mean not too bad, but some of the ones I haven't had a chance to yet likely (according to the hype) would have been on here... Go For It!
  24. I guess on http://www.gatheringofheroesmovie.com/ should be more, my net is a bit slow atm, so a pain in the ass to wait for the pics to be loaded I just HAD to say... my God Debra looks old! i MEAN REALLY OLD!
