  1. Well, why don't you make a compelling argument as to why he should?
  2. One of the best black baseball players ever? Eh. I appreciate everything Jackie Robinson did for the game and feel he should be acknowledged for that, but as far as being a hall of fame PLAYER...that's another story. His .311 batting average is good, but beyond that, everything else is extremely mediocre.
  3. As a lifelong Wolverines fan, Braylon's nowhere near Mike Williams level. Braylon's not even the top playmaker on his team, Breaston is. Chalk up how many dropped balls Braylon had last year and you'll see why there's no comparison to Williams.
  4. Ted Williams and Jim Brown. If coaches are allowed, then Bobby Knight.
  5. To say that Tyson "blew his money" is telling a half truth. Tyson will go down as one of the sadder stories of all time. From the time he was 13, he was pretty much trained to be a pitbull, trained to be a prize fighter. He was told not to worry about school, not to worry about education, just to fight. Everyone he's ever come across has taken advantage of him. I know people love to make fun of him and how unintelligent he is, but is it really his fault? Think back to when you were 13 and if people had promised you millions of dollars, lots of women, etc...you'd probably listen to. Nobody taught him about money management or any of the life skills that we all learn while growing up. All they did was teach him to fight. On top of that, he's still paying off Robin Given's skank ass who manipulated him, knowing she'd be able to cash in long term. I grew up a huge Tyson fan and it's been a travesty seeing how his story has developed. Having to fight just to pay off debts that shouldn't even be there? Horrible.
  6. Rodney Rogers of 97' perhaps.
  7. They can't give K-Mart what he wants unless they let Camby walk. Both of them will not be here. Kobe has mentioned Denver among his teams of interest only because of their financial standing. Melo just signed a year long contract to host a radio show in Denver. He knows he's going to be in Denver as long as he wants to be. Also... Jon Barry's lobbying to get Brent Barry a Nuggets contract so they can play together. Denver seemingly is incredibly open to this idea. NeNe's being offered up as trade bait, moreso for future draft picks than any current roster additions.
  8. Future first round, can't complain about that until I see who it turns into.
  9. Only if Redding and Oswalt reach their potential. They're built to win right now, anything else has to be considered a huge disappointment.
  10. I doubt Nelson stays in Denver. He wasn't on Bzdelik's list at all (not because of talent but because he's not something they need) but obviously he's a player you can't pass up at that point. Podkalzine woulda been a top 5 pick last year after his huge rise in the final days leading up to the draft, but now he dropped to 21 and I doubt he's even worth that. Edit: Nelson being traded to the Magic. I'm sure Denver'll get 2 second rounders out of this and get more roleplayers to replace Anderson and Bowen.
  11. Charlotte loves their basketball, that's why they led the league in attendance for their first few years. Just look at the colleges around there, Duke and the North Carolina schools. It's basketball country, that much can't be denied. The fans'll be there, it's just up to Bob Johnson to KEEP them there. I personally don't mind what they drafted. They've shown their going to draft their cornerstone with the number 2 pick. I wouldn't worry much about the expansion draft, it's just a starting point.
  12. Cuban will not part with Nowitski. He'll trade pretty much anyone on the roster aside from him though. K-Mart's as good as gone from NJ, he wants a max contract. Denver's already said they're willing to give that to him, which is the reason why Camby may not be back next year. And I'd personally hate to see Rudy T in LA. I'm sure he wouldn't pass up the opportunity, but just doesn't seem like a natural fit to me.
  13. Can't blame him at all. People can't seperate his television show from his stand-up, that's their fault. People never went up to Bill Cosby and asked about Theo while he was doing stand up. Dave plays characters on his sketch show and yes, a lot of people are stuck on using his phrases over and over and over, but if he's not talking about it during his stand up routine, there's no reason to bring it up.
  14. ESPN cancelled the show because the NFL didn't like how it made them look. I thought the series was alright. Script needed work and the acting wasn't fabulous, but the coach's role was extremely well done.
  15. Haven't most teams been trying Okafor out at center in pre-draft camps? I understand he's 6'9, but he plays much more like a center than a power forward and dropping him to PF would set him up to be abused by the much more athletic PF's in the league.
  16. Nuggets World Bzdelik appears to be returning as head coach since he is in Chicago interviewing assistant head coaches. Very good news. Camby's on the fence about returning. Chris Anderson will more than likely not return. He's never gotten along with Bzdelik and I'm sure some team will be more than willing to pay for his high energy. Ryan Bowen was also released, another high energy guy who should find a home as a roleplayer. Looked over the list of guys signed up for the open tryouts and recognized nobody. At least last year we saw Jimmy King and Master P show up.
  17. Half your "comments" were "Who?". How can you speculate that the judging is bad when you don't even know who these ladies are or how hot they may be? Also, why is this just coming up now? The issue came out over a month ago I believe. Anyway, I was only disappointed with a handful of the selections (Eve at 11) but it's just a list, who cares.
  18. I know he had workouts scheduled with Minnesota, Kansas City, and Green Bay. I'm pretty sure there were others as well, but nobody's released a report of them. It definately looks like he'll be signed by someone though.
  19. Mistake 1 was giving Bernie Bickerstaff control. Mistake 2 was letting Bickerstaff become coach. It's sad because the Charlotte fans are great and they were made to deal with George Shinn and now this. Too bad.
  20. Could have at least posted the link for those who don't know...but ah well. He said it's a black man's league and that the top athletes are African-American. He never said it in a degrading way from what I read and just merely pointed out a fact. The funny thing was him saying he took offense when a team made a white guy guard him. Until I watch it, I can't say how he said it, but from what I've read, it's hardly anything controversial.

    How much

If I can't get em free through work, then I try to limit to about 12.99 for a regular CD, 20.99 for a double CD.
  22. McGriff called up to D-Rays I think it's great that he's going to get the chance to reach 500 homeruns. Of the guys chasing 500, I don't think anyone deserves it more than him and it was pretty sad thinking about him having to retire 9 short.
  23. Latoya was perhaps the best singer during the competition, but she didn't show any personality and even used a broadway song to try and advance. Jennifer was a good singer as well, but didn't have the personality. Jasmine was cute, but didn't have a strong enough voice or desire. There's a difference between being a great singer and a great performer. People don't pay money to see great singers just sit there and sing. Barry Manilow's a fabulous singer, yet he's not respected or popular (at least here in the states) because he has no personality. Fantasia is an awesome performer and draws the crowd in. She's easily marketable because of her charisma and was the best in the competition from day one.
  24. I don't think it's taught because they make the money. Hockey's a more expensive sport to play. I've known a lot of people who played street hockey, which isn't too expensive, but to actually get ice time, skates, a stick and whatnot, it costs money. I don't know a place out here that has a net set up for people to just go play hockey and Denver's crazy for hockey ever since the Avs arrived. Basketball is simple. Get a ball, go to any park, and you got a game. Football, you need a ball and a relatively open area. For urban America at least, these are the affordable sports. This is just from my view though, could be different elsewhere.
  25. Peja I can agree with, although I'll still argue Lebron. Peja is a great shooter, but has never struck me as a great all around player or a team leader.
