  1. Do any of you actually listen to Shannon when he speaks? He's hilarious, witty, and intelligent, but you can barely make out his words. His voice combined with his annunciation (sp) make it really hard to understand him. Hopefully he gets with a speaking coach before the season starts.
  2. Who said Lebron was going to be the second coming THIS YEAR? Nobody. He's matched Jordan's rookie numbers, so why would you think he's going to falter and become a mediocre player? There is absolutely nothing to show that he won't become one of the greatest of all time. Singlehandedly save the league? He doesn't have to, but he's already singlehandedly saved Cleveland. Yea, Boozer had a great year too, but make no mistake that the franchise made more money this year than any year since Mark Price (screw Daugherty) because of Lebron. And yes, being number 1 in jersey sales does mean he could singlehandedly put the league on his back. He's already making them TONS of money. I don't know what kinda fucked up people you listen to, but I don't remember anyone expecting Lebron to average at triple double, although he came closer than anyone in the league. He may have been hyped beyond all belief, but he's certainly met those expectations. His numbers will only continue to grow. He's not even 20 yet and you call him over-rated. There's just no pleasing some people.
  3. Right. Because at 18 years of age, he went into the NBA and put up numbers in his rookie season that only Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson have matched. Nobody's saying he's a first ballot hall of famer, but he has the potential and that's what the hype is based on. Allen Iverson is one of my favorite players to watch, but highly over-rated. He's a warrior and a leader, but not that great. Kinda goes with the Tim Duncan, except Duncan's a great player who's not a warrior or a leader. No one else really comes to mind, I may have some later though.
  4. You people are sensitive about your games. Anyway, I had PS2 and currently have X-Box. I do think the graphics are better on X-Box, the games can be more in depth (Morrowind for one) and the biggest reason I like it more is that I don't have to buy any stupid memory cards. Plus, I can have my own soundtrack on some games.
  5. Why is it nobody understands this? It would actually make him less flexible and less able to turn on the balls he does. His bat speed is amazingly quick, steroids would decrease that more than anything. And if steroids are responsible for his homeruns, what's responsible for his batting title? Gold gloves? Stolen bases? Exactly.

    DJing

Listen, this is the profession I'm in. 5 grand was a ridiculous number and now you're saying he makes that in a strip club? That's the LOWEST form of DJing. Strippers are lucky to walk away with a couple hundred. If you were old enough to go to a strip club, you might know that nobody really puts up good money there. That's why they have a 2 drink minimum, only way they can turn a profit.

Wouldn't get ya hopes up. Marc Trasher, who was California's DJ of the year in 98 doesn't make 5 grand per appearance. Guys working the local club scene without national recognition work for a low rate and can generally get a percentage of the door, but 5 grand a night is exaggerated.

I don't DJ, but quite a few work for the company. If you're looking to get into it professionally, you gotta be top notch to make any money and even then, it's really not that great. I'd keep it more as a hobby or something to do on the side.
  9. Low blow, I wasn't paying attention. Who cares that we had a mediocre draft and didn't really address any of our needs? The Chiefs will still.....sell out at least. And Sabu, as far as Denver goes, from what I've seen and I've only had a chance to see a couple sessions, Al Wilson looks like he's stepped up his workout a notch or two because he's completely ripped. Team doesn't look too bad. Portis won't be such a huge loss.
  10. I hope Scott avoids the Hornets. He's a good guy and a good coach and deserves far better than this franchise, who will probably end up moving and rebuilding again with the way their fanbase is. Plus, who in their right mind wants to work for George Shinn?
  11. What sport have you been watching? Bonds defines domination. People go out of their way to AVOID pitching to Barry.
  12. This was on Sportscenter the other afternoon and I'll steal an answer from there as well. I vote Barry because when his career's over, you will be debating whether he was the greatest hitter of all time. Nobody will ever wonder if Clemens is the best pitcher of all time.
