  1. Has to be a Brazilian. Mario Jardel?
  2. As long as those two words are 'onside' and 'offside', she's fully qualified for the job.
  3. "Balotelli's first goal in the Premier League since November 2012!".
  4. How has Nani been at Sporting? Are the rumours in Portugal saying they'll sign him permanently in the summer or that he'll be back at United/go elsewhere?
  5. We only have one tactic whether it's the first minute or the 93rd. Long, diagonal ball. Only difference is we had Fellaini to win some late on.
  6. McCoist is already on gardening leave and sticking another manager on gardening leave would just add extra costs getting a new one in - money that Rangers don't have. So Ashley would loan them some more, gain even more power, and the cycle repeats itself.
  7. It's Maniche to Chelsea only much much worse. Yay. He's basically cover for our u21 side given Janko went the other way, Lingard went to Derby and Vermijl joined Sheffield Wednesday. He won't get near the first team. But then this is Van Gaal, so maybe its all part of his philosophy. Is Vermijl any good? Hoping him coming in can take the pressure off our starting defenders who are all really good (one of the better defensive records in the Championship) but could do with a bit of competition. Will Keane looks decent from the two matches he's played in for us, definitely got the ability but just needs the supply. Haven't seen much at all of Vermijl in actual competitive games. The only game I can remember him playing for the senior team was the loss vs. MK Dons this season. Other than that, he was on loan to Holland last season so I didn't catch any of that. Looked a solid player in the reserves the few times I saw him, though. Got a fair bit of pace and seemed pretty consistent.

  9. Bad news for anyone who plays FIFA online: Roma have signed Victor Ibarbo to partner Doumbia.
  10. Ah, the old 'hold up a shirt while you are already wearing the same shirt' photo. One of my personal favourites.
  11. £3mil is nothing for Taylor. He's a good player, and Swansea surely can't be too desperate for cash after selling Bony?
  12. It's the system mostly, I think. He's not the greatest going forward but is very good defensively. Playing as a wingback requires him to get forward a lot more and be our primary threat down the left, which isn't his strength. He had to cut back quite often yesterday because he didn't have an option in front of him and taking it past a winger and full back is just too much for him to do all by himself. I think he'd look a lot better in a back four but so would everybody in the team.
  13. The games to be on TV have been announced: All of them are Premier League vs. lower league which is good to see. Having Everton vs. West Ham and Arsenal vs. Hull on seemed a bit pointless when they play each other twice a year anyway. Nobody was brave enough to try a potential Chelsea-Millwall game though.
  14. Brighton vs. Arsenal will most likely be on TV too.
  15. Chelsea have looked great this half. As comfortable a 1-0 lead as I've ever seen.
  16. The guy on the bottom right of the crowd who starts clapping after the elbow makes that gif.
  17. Nathan Jones is taking over as caretaker manager. If Brighton can take on ex-convicts, I don't see what was the big fuss with Sheffield United and Hartlepool...
  18. Reminds me of the season when Liverpool would have won the league if every shot that had hit the crossbar or post had gone in instead. This is the season of "if we still had Suarez...".
  19. I still don't understand the logic in buying Lambert. You can use the "he only cost a few million" argument, but he's weakening the side and costing them points by not being at the standard required. It just shows a lack of direction for Liverpool signing him and Balotelli when last season they were based on fast paced attacks and taking the game to teams early on. There's no sense in bringing in a 32 year old striker who you can't rely on to put into the team when needed, and a guy who needs a striker partner but there are only two other strikers at the club (one of whom is the 32 year old striker you don't really want playing every week). Rodgers can blame the transfer committee but if even after a season where he very very nearly won the title for the first time in ages, he still doesn't have the standing to veto a transfer and tell them "no, he won't fit in with the way we play and won't benefit us going forward", it shows a weakness on his part at not being able to take charge backstage.
  20. I loved before the game when Geoff Shreeves asked LVG what his gameplan was going to be, and he looked incredulous at the fact he wanted him to just reveal his entire tactics before the game. He gave a simple "you'll see on the pitch" response. Then Shreeves asks Rodgers the exact same question and Brendan couldn't give his answer more willingly, talking about how they were going to play at a high tempo and how he'd brought in "technicians" and the effect they'd have. It was as if he couldn't wait to get a platform to tell everybody how great his tactics are and "educate" the public. Then after the game, Van Gaal says how United still have to improve even after winning 3-0. Rodgers, however, says his team played well and praises the attitude of his team despite losing 3-0. There's an absolute mile between the two in terms of mentality and I bet there are more than a couple players in the Liverpool changing room thinking the same.
  21. Mata, Rooney, RVP and Wilson all play. Interesting teams from both sides here.
  22. I went to an Orient game earlier this season and the mascot was crushing kids dreams left, right and centre. He wasn't even making comical dives or anything, he just stood on the goalline kicking any shot away. Theo is a cruel, cruel mascot.
