Got some spare time lately and haven't been in a battle in a long time. I don't care about the rules lol anything will do just need something to get me back in Photoshop

I haven't used gimp but it should have curves. learn to use it and also dodging and burning(In photoshop there are two separate tools for this. don't think gimp has one). There's a work around for dodging and burning in Gimp though you can try incorporate. I really like the Kane sig as well

It's good. some things that catch my attention. At first I thought you were trying to do a beveled border on the graphic but I noticed it's not on the right side of the image. What happened was when you cut the images out you didn't erase the borders well enough and when you applied the outer glow on the one image it made the borders more visible. A simple erase job around the edges would have fixed it up. I'm not a fan of the swirl in the center of the image might have looked better to fade the pic of her into the background better without the swirl. for me the colors work well too.

I'm starting to think the world generation hates me. Have generated 3 worlds and each one is filled with aquifers Finally thought I found a small portion without one and I embarked next to a small hill dug into it and set up my stockpiles a small room for carpenter workshop and a room with 5 beds. Once that was done I started digging down further only to sorely disappointed, the second layer was sand with portions of underground water. Couldn't put a farm on sand so I had my miners dig a thin line from the underground water source to where my farm was but no luck. Decided to start a farm above ground but by then my dwarfs were starving so i trained a few and had them go after some animals. Those bled to death after getting bit by an alligator. the rest of dwarfs panic and started killing one another. maybe my next time will be better. What do you guys usually embark with ? I like to a take 2 miners a woodsman a farmer and then the rest have random skills.

If I remember correctly adventure mode is still incomplete and buggy. has anyone been able to download the big pdf file with all the beginner tutorials in it ? Complete Dwarf Fortress tutorials in one big PDF Every time I try to download it it stops at about 6%

that's weird. maybe it's because I'm using the lazy combo pack which has the game , several tilesets and mods combined.

I love Dwarf Fortress but I never get far in it. i get to the point where I start farming then realize I messed up my fort or something and eventually restart. I wish the mouse was implemented more. I like the arena mode in the new version its fun to hold tourneys and see who wins. Is there a way to run the new version in a window that way i can have the tutorials open at the same time ?

Looks like they may be keeping with some of the books storylines still. Hopefully cat eating Bubba has a good role. He at least needs to make an appearance. Not sure what to make of Sam's parents? Wonder if the new vamp will be Tara's new guy. Hopefully he rips out her throat and soon. Also was he looking for info on Sookie or was he looking to see what info Bill had on the Queen? Thinking that woman Jason saw in the woods might end up turning him into a were(if it keeps like the books) Hopefully they won't follow that as I like whats happening between Jason and Andy. Doubt it will last long because Jason is already getting jealous of all the attention Andy s getting. They should lock Tara's mom up with Lafeyette's mom. I'd love to see Terry snap and go bat-shit insane on some werewolves.

just an idea have you tried uninstalling ufc and reinstalling and see if that helps. I've noticed when I have major slow down in fallout 3 that seems to fix the problem for a while

what's your take down defense ? I have a lot of problems with them as well. for Fabricio i find that if I watch my stamina I can survive his onslaught of submissions. and for Brock I find if he get on top of him he gets easier. just conserve your stamina and pop him with shots from mount blocking his transition attempts

I've noticed a lot lately where the characters feet will vibrate and jitter during the cut scenes and then slow down for a few seconds. Fallout 3 game of the year edition is bad about freezing and slow downs for me as well

the difficulty of the stand up game and ground game needs to be balanced. playing on beginner I chose Frank Mir(Me) vs Kimbo Slice. 1st round we touch gloves . Kimbo throws a punch I block it and he takes me down with ease. I'm full stamina he mounts me and submits me easily even though I was full stamina and shining perfectly. I go for a rematch thinking I'd go for the sub time because Kimbo doesn't have that good of sub defense. 3rd round I have low in stamina and rocked. I have full stamina take him down and go for the sub. he breaks free mounts me and ko's me with one punch. Career mode is even worse about doing that. Also seems like counter punches and elbows are way over powered. I think they should have made swaying available only to those that do it in real life. Like Anderson Silva. You rarely see Brock swaying all around but in the game he can sway like the best. Also for those that get the suplex to side control how do you do it. I've tried to learn ti but you have to perform a trip or slam from the clinch and whenever I do a career none of my caf's can do that from the start ?

just finished an awesome career. Started as welterweight and worked my up winning the title. defended it several times and moved up to middle weight. 3 fights in and I have a title shot against Anderson Silva. Defeat him barely in the third and from that point on spend the rest of my career successfully defending it. Won Fighter of the year 7 years in a row. ko of the night 8 times and was inducted into the hall of fame. it sucks they made me end my career early because I still had 4 years before retirment. He is a one dimensional fighter a pure striker at heart that know enough to defend against takedowns and subs. Never learned any techniques either. Oh I found something new to me. you can knock out people with a kick to the body. I rocked Chris Leben and he was close to the cage. he was stuck standing there rocked so I landed a strong kick to the gut. He falls grabbing his side and the match is over.

yeah I miss the thick manuals.some games still have ok manuals. PES 2010 comes to mind it's better than the manuals of EA games.I think the main reason they are getting rid of them is as Sean mention cost cutting measures. I'm sure if they could charge extra for the manual most game companies would.

I was reading the editor's not in the latest Game Informer magazine. Ubisoft is getting rid of game manuals and getting new game cases in an effort to go green.Most manuals these days are only a few pages anyway but when i get a new guy I love reading through the manual while the game is loading.Gamers will be able to read the manual while in the game but i just doesn't seem right to me. If they wanted to go green get rid of the strategy guides,but no they want do that because they can make money off the strategy guides. I hope this new case won't mean an increase in the game price. Ubisoft to get rid of game manuals.

Just finished an amazing match. it was an exhibition title fight. BJ Penn(me) vs Royce Gracie(Cpu) Going in I figured Royce would break free of any sub attempt I threw at him so I decided to keep the fight standing as long as I could. peppered him with jabs and low kicks mostly. he rocked me once with 3 seconds left in the round using that fast head kick he has. Second round pretty much the same he rocked me again and responded by rocking him. He takes me down and I panic.luckily I transition to rubber guard and with a few seconds left I blast him with punches from there. Third and forth rounds we keep it standing and battle back and worth without much else happening. Fifth round a minute in I go for a kick he catches it and takes me down. he transitions a few times and locks me in the omnoplata(not sure how it's spelled)a weird looking submission. i fight and fight but en the end he makes me tap in the last round.

Oh yeah its still a great game. One think I think they should have included a better tutorial especially for the new ground game aspects. For next years game I would love to see 2 career modes.One being called The Ultimate Fighter. in this mode you create your guy and try to stay on the show and get the contract. In this mode you start to build up your guy's stats and moves. if you win the contract you then can load your guy into the main career where you can continue to beef him up with better camps and etc. If you don't get the contract you can still load him into the other career mode but you won't get any stat bonuses. I think they need to either tweak the sway system or redo it from scratch. More camps need to be available and they need to balance out the difficulty levels

Submission Guide found that guide very helpful after some time in practice mode I got my first sub in expert mode. The guide is tailored to xbox users but the methods work for PS3 users as well

Started a light heavyweight career last night. tried experimenting with training and sparring with the starting sparring partner I'm pulling in roughly 24 points per sparring session. the first couple sparring sessions I didn't use any of the points i earned. Saved them up after a year I had enough points to up every stat except sub offense clinch striking offense to 30. Still in WFA and I'm undefeated. have started attending camp(I picked the last camp) hopefully I will have all their moves learned before stepping into the UFC. For sparring I just run to the opponent take him down get up and keep using the cage to take him down. i think it's better with stats to immediately get the stats you need to survive up to thirty. let the others fall and save up your points till you have enough to up secondary skills to 30 and etc. Yeah i don't like the sway system at all. I think after this career is over I'll use this guy as a base for all the other cafs i create so I won't have to take each through the career mode.

I live out in the boonies where undoubtedly we don't need high speed internet access. So yeah I love to play online but the only internet I have is netzero and I highly doubt it will work lol
