  1. 5pts: Liverpool 4pts: Wolves, Spurs, Portsmouth 3pts: Burnley, Hull, Sunderland, West Ham, Fulham 2pts: Bolton, Stoke, Birmingham, Wigan, Blackburn 1pt: Arsenal, Villa, Man City 0pts: United, Chelsea, Everton
  2. Are they the real deal or just fakes? Because if thats real....wow?
  3. It's been taken off now, but it does make me wonder if the deal is done or more or less done. Or it's a repeat of the Robiniho situation
  4. I really, really want to say this will be our year, but christ knows ive said it every ear since 2001/02 and we've not managed it yet. Rafa needs to buy well, Glen Johnson would be a cracking start, but we doo desperatly need a creative player, preferably a decent winger like Silva, Robben or Sneijder. Spurs at home 1st day of the season is a tricky start, but we should get three points out of it, I hope so anyway because we need to hit the ground running or we'll be playing catch up from the bloody start, as the scum will get three points at home to Brum.
  5. Portsmouth have accepted a bid for Glen Johnson, aparently between 15 and 18 million Link Probably from Chelsea, but hopefully it's us. And with Pompey oweing us £7 million from the Crouch deal, that would mean we're paying at most £11 million. I also read somewhere else we're linked with a 5 million move for Micah Richards. I'd be happy with either to be honest
  6. I'm willing this to go tits up, I really really am. I desperatly want Ronaldo to fuck off to Spain and United to crumble. It won't happen though. United will get Benzima or someone and we'll end up with Silvan Distan and Gary fucking O'Neill. I keep saying this is going to be our year, but unless Rafa pulls of a coup this summer, I have a horrible feeling we're going to go backwards
  7. Figured we needed a place to discuss the Tour. Watched the game against Royal XV today. Lions were well off the pace. Blair was awful at Scrum Half, he was ponderous and his passing from the breakdown was crap. The team was much better when Phillips came on. Not entirley convinced with O'Connell's performance as Captain, didnt seem to try and lead from the front or lift the players much. Hopfully they improve fast or South Africa will obliterate them in the test matches
  8. We really need to add strength to the squad, with most of the team complete, we only really need to get a quality winger or two and a decent 2nd choice striker. Silva fits the bill nicley for a winger, but with Madris interested, we're basically priced out of that one unless Rafa can pull of a bit of wheeling and dealing. We keep getting linked to Downing, who is decent enough, but I don;t really rate him as "Liverpool quality". Barry would be a quality buy, but with O'Niel being his usual cuntish self, he'd probably still want over 10 million for him, which City are aparently willing to pay. Shame, because I really do rate Barry. Hopefully Alonso stays put, but if Madrid are willing to pay over 25 million, I'd take the money and run personally. We need the cash, as the owners are brassic. That said we do still have the cash from Keane and the 7 million Pompey aparently owe us from Crouch on top of what we make from selling the likes of Babel, Voronin and Degan and what Gillet and Hicks give us. And without Rick Parry to cock up everything, transfers SHOULD be better handled now. Shame Pompey have been bought out, because I really fancied Johnson coming in.
  9. He was close. But the way he handled himself was superb, he was brutally honest, Newcastle just havnt been good enough, and as it was put, they need a total overhaul
  10. Watching Sky Sports now, Alan Shearer is true class
  11. I really think Martins, Nolan, Butt, Lovenkrands and possibly Taylor will be leaving you shortly.
  12. Goin' Down, Goin' Down, Goin' Down!! I'm so glad it wasn't Hull. Now hopefully Burnley get promoted and I'll be happy
  13. Because we all know, everyone must bow down to the law of Taggart.
  14. I ahte United! Absoloutly HATE them. now they;ve won 18 league titles, Fergie and the fans are going to be unbearable. It's all come down to the fact that Liverpool couldn;t break teams down whyen they put 10 men behind the ball. What makes it worse is that we've been amazimg this season, absoloutly outstanding at times, probably better than United for most of the season, but once again those jammy bastards nip in and win it. Not that I'm at all bitter
  15. Having seen Spearing play once or twice, having seen footage of the lad online and speaking to people who've seen more of him, I think it's fair that a lad who was captain of the youth cup winning team, who has done well for the reserves and who acuitted himself well against Real madrid (although admittedly once the game was out of their grasp) deserves a chance in the first team more regularaly. I just don't rate Lucas at all, I think his passing is often quite sloppy, although you obviously disagree, and his tackling is definatly poor. I just don't get the feeling he's at the leval that is required at LFC. It's not a case of him not being a "brazilain style" player, for me it's a case of him simply not being good enough. My test is would be make it into the teams at other top 4 clubs, and the answer (with the possible exception of Aresnal, but even that's doubtful). And before you say anything about Spearing in that context, I do fully believe he'd be given a shot at United, they blood youngsters, which is something Liverpool fail to do often enough.
  16. I completly disagree with that assesment, he's poor. I know I'm not the only person to think this. We should get rid and use Jay Spearing in that role or cover for Alonso/Mascherano. Lucas is a victim of the cattle mentality. He's not poor, he's a decent young player being asked to fill positions that aren't really his own. A couple of high profile mistakes though and the idiots have turned, booing him whenever he comes on which, whatever you think, is a cunts trick and the people that do it aren't supporters at all. And to suggest Jay Spearing is anywhere near the level of Lucas is hilarious. If Spearing was French then nobody would even suggest him as an alternative, but because he's a 'local lad' people are desperate for him to get thrown into the first team even though he's nowhere near ready. Each to there own, but Spearing has done a decent job every time i've seen him (which admittedly is only once or twice), but I'd much much sooner see him play that Lucas. The problem is that he hasn't had enough of a chance, we need to be booding more youngsters, local or not I don't care. And IMO Spearing deserves a chance. I stood by Lucas for a long time, where as many of my Liverpool supporting mates were calling him crap, I told them to wait and see if he improved, and I just havn't seen that improvement from him. Send him out on loan mabie, see if a spell of regular games improves him, but right now he is by no means good enough IMO.
  17. I completly disagree with that assesment, he's poor. I know I'm not the only person to think this. We should get rid and use Jay Spearing in that role or cover for Alonso/Mascherano.
  18. I agree that San Jose could fill in, but id ratgher we spend 1-2 million on someone with a bit of experience (like Sami) who can allow the younger lads time to develop a little more, mabie get game time in the Carling and early rounds of the FA cup so that when they do need to step up, they'll have the required experience. I think we'll end up getting Barry this summer. This time last year the prospect excited me, I was tired of Alonso, who for the 2 seasons before this one had been well off the pace. But with Xabi and Msch's performances this year, we don't need him. Lucas can fuck right off though. Gudjohnson would be quality, but I very much doubt he'd leqave sitting on the bench at Barca to be sitting on the bench at us. We do need a back up striker, because I'm still not convinced Kyut or N'Gog are good enough. I know Kyut works, he's got a fantastic work rate, but he needs chances before he scores, and that's been our problem a lot of the time. We need a second striker as back up who'll take chances, like Fowler and Rush used to.
  19. I'm sick of saying it, but theres always next season. I've never seen a Liverpool side push for the title so hard and not be out of it by January. If we hadn't drawn so many games at Home we'd be in the driving seat right now. Draws with Stoke and West Ham killed us, and we shouldn't have lost away to Middlesborough. The enocuraging thing is, we've not had Torres and/or Gerrard for big chunks of the season, proving that we can be more than a two man team. A couple of good signings in the summer, we need another centre back, a decent right winger with pace and a few more squad players, definatly cover at right back. Hopefully Next year we can push even harder and win it!
  20. This si going to show just how geeky I actually am, but I think some of the books based on Warhammer/Warhammer 40k could make entertaining films. Mainly the Gotrek & Felix books and the Horus Heresy series. I'd love to see those made into movies, espacally Fulgrim, awesome book (for a Warhammer novel anyway)
  21. You mean exactly what Microsoft has done with a lot of games and download content? Besides it's just going to end up like Ninja Gaiden anyway I think. No-one should do it. It's just unfair on people, what makes it even worse is that it was only a month from release when they anounced it. It's retarded and its pissed me right off
  22. Thats complete and utter bollocks. Fuck you Atari! Fuck you Sony!! I've been desperate to play this game since they anounced it ages ago and now thats to those fuckers I won;t get to unless i fork out £300 for a PS3. This has just made a shit day even shitter!
  23. People are alowed to voice there opinion if their name is Alex Fergeson.
  24. I'm not watching the game, but the refereeing sounds like a typical Howard Webb display at Old Traffod, bottle it and cave to United pressure. If he cocks this up and costs us the league, I will personally set fire to his cat and/or wife
