  1. OH MY GOD I PLAYED WITH STING. SUCH A LEGEND.
  2. Oh that is a lovely trio. I believe I voted for all of them. Maybe not Bowie but he wasn't miles away. I hope McCartney is the highest Beatle. It would be heinous if John Lennon was higher than him.
  3. Yeah I love Steely Dan. Cocteau twins are awesome too.

  5. That's fantastic. Thanks very much. I didn't notice that.
  6. Eh so I bought a couple of track packs. During the downloading internet got messed up. Once it was up and running the songs weren't downloading again so I thought I'd cancel them and redownload them. Unfortunately it isn't letting me. It isn't even giving me the option to buy them again. What do I do?
  7. Sounding like weird Indian music is no bad thing.
  8. Oh my goodness! I have made my big break! I have moved from the doldrums of Indonesia to...the mighty Johor of Malaysia! And become manager of Samoa along the way! Exciting times! Though I have the feeling that it may be some time before I get my move to the Premiership.

YES! This has happened to me so much since I started uni. I have now changed it to "playlist".
  10. I have somehow ended up in the Indonesian third division after starting unemployed. I make these Indonesian third division managers look world class.
  11. I hate it how the news on other team's transfers, managerial changes and so on come in that news screen now. I liked them in my inbox. So I actually knew what was going on.
  12. Looks like Jeff Hardy's twin... And in actual comments on the list, can we expect Jeff Buckley and one/both Gallagher brothers to show up at some point? Otherwise, Elvis, Dionne Warwick... Maybe Tom Jones? None of the Gallaghers can sing. Well maybe Noel on a good day. But still not good enough for the list.
  13. Finished 3rd with Man Utd. The board aren't best pleased.
  14. Jay-Z is on it too. The EP I mean. Not Life in Technicolor.
  15. Olympiastadion in Berlin to be precise. As there are many Olympic Stadiums.
  16. I have managed to whittle this down into a list of 100 which was pretty difficult considering I originally had a shortlist of 740. The list of 740 was basically songs on my itunes that I gave five star ratings to. I was surprised I had as many five star rated songs as I'm usually pretty harsh when I rate songs. And I rate all my songs. I think I have itunes OCD. To add a further dimension onto what is basically a vanity project I think I'll do a guessing game like some other people have done with these countdowns. Basically I'll give a clue and give one point for guessing the correct artist and two points for guessing the correct song which will be recorded on a leaderboard. Can't say I'm expecting much participation. ha. Anyway I'll begin this now: 100. Glósóli - Sigur Rós Takk... (2005) LISTEN Glósóli, so Wikipedia tells me, translates into English as "Glowing Sole". That doesn't really mean much to me, but there is far, far more to Sigur Rós than poorly translate song titles. They are by no means the Icelandic version of Dragostea Din Tei. Anyhow, this song was the first to be released from "Takk...", quite possibly my favourite Sigur Rós album. It begins incredibly softly, and over the course of the song's six minutes builds up into one the most epic cadences I have ever heard. 99. San Diego Serenade - Tom Waits The Heart of Saturday Night (1974) LISTEN In a definite contrast from Glósóli, it is the lyrics that make this song. Since I've moved away from home I've found myself identifying with the first verse in particular: I never saw the morning til I stayed up all night I never saw the sunshine til you turned out the light I never saw my hometown until I stayed away too long It is an easily identifiable subject that is expressed so simply that is brilliant, and it is a key reason for my love of this song. 98. A Brighter Beat - Malcolm Middleton A Brighter Beat (2007) LISTEN Despite loving Arab Strap, I feel Malcolm Middleton's solo work is his best material. This title track from his excellent 2007 album is a key reason why. 97. After The Gold Rush - Neil Young After The Gold Rush (1970) LISTEN "After The Gold Rush" is one of Neil Young's most celebrated albums and the title track is just one reason why it deserves to be so highly regarded. Despite hearing many fantastic and sometimes extravagant live versions of this song, my favourite remains the sparsely accompanied version that can be found on the album. 96. Rudie Can't Fail - The Clash London Calling (1979) LISTEN Some of my favourite Clash songs are the more reggae styled ones. "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais", "Guns of Brixton", and in particular, "Rudie Can't Fail." Despite being labelled as "punk", the Clash show in this song that they are so much more than that with reggae rhythms and trumpets. However, what truly makes this song great, rather than just a white reggae gimmick, is that at its core it is a brilliantly catchy pop song. P.S. I hate "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" though. Just so you know. CLUES Number 95 was a single by an ex-Beatle that an Australian rock band named themselves after. Number 94 was a Momentary Lapse of Reason from a band that were completely up themselves to say the least. Number 93 was (jointly) written by a man who had an awkward incident involving a policeman and a public toilet. Number 92 was by a blind man. Number 91 was a 2005 single release by my favourite musician.
  17. Thanks for all these recommendations. There's a lot of things I don't know that I'll look into. Those that I do know are: The New Amsterdams - have a dozen or so odd songs The School - have a couple of songs The National - I have Boxer which I quite like Aqualung - I have a few songs. Almost got the last album. GCWCF - have a couple of songs Iron & Wine - I have the Shepherd's Dog which I quite like Architecture In Helsinki - never heard, but have heard good things. Jakob Dylan - Heard a song somewhere. Plus is related to Bob Dylan. So I'll begin with these and move into the unknown. Thanks again!
  18. Was Anne Hathaway the one that used to be fat?
  19. LA Galaxy. Home Depot Center. That was a cruel one.
  20. Am I allowed another go? KC Stadium? It looks fairly modern and I see some orange... I thought it was the Reebok at first but it doesn't seem to have those spire things.
  21. haha...yes. I'd heard about Govan before I arrived in Glasgow though. And I ended up there at midnight one night after the subway closed. I was a bit nervous.
