  1. You'll probably put this down to me being an Arsenal fan, but the only thing that truely impressed me was Wayne Rooney. Everything else was pretty much the same stuff we've seen from Man Utd so far this season. In other words, not much. Ferdinand is getting into his grove, but Silvestre needs to improve drastically. IMO, Rooney was superb, everyone else was sub-standard if that. Good win, but if you had faced a team that even tried to win, I reckon you would've lost.
  2. Thing that annoyed me more than anything about his outburst is the fact that Chelsea do the same thing! They sit back and defend for half the game anyway! They've started to change their tactics now, but they did just defend non-stop.
  3. One thing that annoys me is the squad layout. They're sorted by...actually, what ARE they sorted by? They seem to be in just a random order at the moment. I want them to be set by default to be sorted by position. Hopefully it'll be like that in the final version.
  4. Thats a lie, Owens been sat on the bench most of the time coming on occasionally late on for Raul to run at a knackered defence. The point about the egos being the problem is the right reason though, it's the same with England some of these people have such big egos (Madrid I suppose have a right to) and it ruins the game. Still, thats what happens when you abolish wage caps and overcharge fans to watch a match. ← What makes you so sure it's a lie? He didn't get on in the Espanyol game, and it wouldn't surprise me if Raul complained about it. He must have a friggin huge ego, as he is like Real Madrid's equivelant to Newcastle's Alan Shearer; he's their hero and the fans (and staff perhaps?) will usually side with him. The whole resignation smells fishy to me, but I still think Camacho is a wuss if he 'walked out' without being pushed.
  5. It's the beta demo, but it is still good. Bugs are there, but the game is nice enough to include a 'Report Bug' button I need to get use to the new lay out. Things have been moved around. Can't wait til the game is fully released
  6. Camacho seems to me, to be a bit of a quitter. This is the second time he's resigned from Real to my knowledge. If he didn't think he could do it; why take the job in the first place? He should've stayed til AT LEAST December or so, then quit if he wished.
  7. Pulp Fiction, with the Shawshank Redemtion and Lion King fighting for second place...SR just wins 2nd.
  8. It's the clubs in Rome mainly isn't it? It's Roma certainly, and Lazio are the ones that cause all the shit.
  9. Page 2!?! What the hell is this doing on PAGE 2!?! Well, we got off to a decent start last night; a 1-0 isn't exactly what it should've been though. We should've demolished them. They didn't know what to do (in the first half) when we had the ball! We should've put at least 3 past 'em.
  10. Well, not our best game, but a 1-0 win over PSV is still good. Cygan certainly must go though.
  11. He should do. Back then, he wasn't really well known, and the idea of Buffy wasn't exactly loved. Now he's known VERY well and is a respected writer and director. For the money side, he'll get a friggin huge budget because the second got more than the first, and so the same will happen with the third.
  12. Hey! Alien: Resurection was good for what it was suppose to be! I, for one, think this nothing but good. The work he's been doing on the X-Men comics of late shows he knows about comics. The work he's done with Buffy and Angel shows he knows how to make a successful TV series. I have no doubt he can make a good X-Men film. Only a total idiot could possibly fuck it up, and Joss ain't an idiot.
  13. Souness to take up Toon post Newcastle have confirmed that Graeme Souness has agreed to take over as their new manager. Sky Sports News revealed that Souness had told his own Blackburn players on Monday morning that he had quit his post at Ewood Park to move to St James' Park. Terry Venables had reportedly met with The Magpies about taking over from Sir Bobby Robson, while Steve Bruce and David O'Leary were also on the short-list. However, rumours began to grow on Monday that Blackburn boss Souness was in the frame and his odds to become the Newcastle boss were slashed by bookies as a result. Magpies chairman Freddy Shepherd has now confirmed to Sky Sports News that Souness has agreed to take over at St James' Park. Souness will take charge from Monday September 13, after Newcastle have ironically faced Blackburn in The Premiership. "Graeme Souness leaves Blackburn Rovers today to take up the position as team manager of Newcastle United," said Shepherd's statement. "Souness has been in talks with Newcastle over the weekend and he will take up his position next Monday, September 13. "There will be a press conference on Monday when Souness will be officially unveiled as the new manager." Blackburn chief executive John Williams confirmed that the two clubs had agreed on a compensation package over the weekend, after Rovers reluctantly agreed to Souness leaving. "My reading of the situation is quite clear," said a statement from Williams. "Graeme is very reluctant to leave a job he considers one of the best in the business, but he views Newcastle as a massive opportunity and one he cannot resist. "We wish him well for the future and thank him for four successful years. But now is the time to look forward and we need to focus all our energies on finding Graeme's successor. "We have an excellent squad of players and have a lot to offer the new manager, not least a financially stable club, and we expect considerable interest in the position. "It is time to move on, we know what we are looking for and anticipate a very strong list of applicants." Source Souness could be very good for Newcastle, and I expect the Toon Army to do good now.

    .

i hated the P. Diddy version of 'Every Breathe you Take". I know he did it for his friend or whatever, but it's still utter crap.
  15. I actually kinda like it. Of course, I would've prefered some actual WRESTLERS on it, but it does look decent. Hopefully the UK release will be different.
  16. Just thought I'd inform people...Football Manager 2005 is on Play.com now for £17.99. Order it now, if the price goes up, it's still only charges £17.99.
  17. YAY! When's it coming to the UK? That's all I wanna know.
  18. Well, the fact that Newcastle weren't going anywhere at the moment was a good enough reason to get rid of him. He's taken the club as far as they could go, and it's time for a change. To me, it looks like Robson is a brilliant person, but no longer a brilliant manager. He's lost it. Not good enough for this level I must say.
  19. Leeds have just won promotion to Division Two, after going through three consecutive relegations. Liverpool just went down last year as well, which I was VERY shocked about. Unfortunetly, they don't have any decent players to fit into my squad! Owen sucks, and Gerrard just isn't good enough anymore. Boo
  20. It finally ended. Over two season's running unbeaten, and then it all comes to an end in the second game of the 2008/09 season at home to Southampton. i was completely dominant, but couldn't turn my chances into goals. My former goalkeeper, Stuart Taylor had a career game, getting a 10 rating and man of the match from it. Oh well, was fun while it lasted

    Wayne Rooney

Shay Given has come out and said he'd prefer Newcastle to focus on signing a centre back because their ranks a very thin. Gotta agree. Neither team *really* need the little brat, but he'd be best to move to Man Utd for obvious reasons.
  22. Typical. Nice little bit of cheating because you couldn't beat Blackburn. Really shows the gap in class between Arsenal/Chelsea and Man Utd doesn't it? This is the wording used by the BBC website: About sums it up doesn't it?
  23. Wenger believes that Cesc is good enough NOW to get into the full Spanish team, and I for one agree with him. He's filled the Vieira gap so well. He plays ahead of his years, you'd think he's in his mid-twenties! He's got such a great future ahead of him, and I hope he becomes as good as, if not better than Vieira, which is the way he's heading.

    Wayne Rooney

What an idiot. He's just lost everyone's respect. Shit, you're 18 years old! The time is right my ass! It's ALL about money for him. If he had ANY sense of loyalty to Everton, he would be there for at least 2 more years. My respect for this stupid boy just went way down.
  25. ^^^ What he said. The only problem with the injury time/stoppage time thing is that it generally never adds up. For example, I think it might've been the Arsenal/Middlesbrough game on Sunday, at the end of the game (might've been half time), 1 minute of stoppage time was added on. However, during that half, there was at least 3-5 minutes of stoppages. I think that the clocks should stop when the ball goes out of play or if the game stops, that way they can at least have the full full 45 minutes per half properly.
