  1. When I was 7 my 17 yr(at that time) old cousin made me watch Nightmare on Elm Street, I couldn't sleep...but now he's one of my favourite Horror villains Other then that I'm still scared of snakes, and in mvoies, I'm pretty freaked out of the upcoming Horror movie Saw. Looks very disturbing. Watch the trailer.
  2. I don't know if it was on at E! but I did watch it, and even though it wasn't that good, being a gamer myself it was 100X better then the Spike TV one. Oh and I miss my X-play too Too many re-runs makes me mad Plus the other shows sucks, especially Judgement Day, where the host that where's a black shirt most of the time is biased, he hates Nintendo and that makes me real mad
  3. Alright, this is taken from Mugglenet, provides some intersting theories/facts about the 6th and 7th book, and this thread will be updated by me for any more news on the movies or the books. These are facts straight from the mouth of J.K. Rowling, and were gathered from numerous online chats with her. Everything here is confirmed. Random facts about the book The sixth book is called Harry potter and The Half-Blood Prince There will be a new Minister of Magic, no more Mr. Fudge. We will find out what happened to Hagrid's half brother Grawp. He will be a bit more controllable in book 6. The Dursleys are in the next book, but Harry's stay with them will be the shortest yet. In book 5 he stayed for 4 weeks, so we know his stay will be less than 4 weeks. Cho Chang will not be a romantic interest of Harry in Book 6, however there will be a "little romance" for Harry says JK. In books 6 and 7 we will find out exactly why JK killed off Sirius. Harry becomes even more powerful in book 6. In books 6 and 7 we will find out why Dumbledore trusts Snape. We will find out what happened to Wormtail AKA Peter Pettigrew More about the animosity between Snape and Sirius will be revealed in the last 2 books. JK has said that giving away the form of Snape's boggart and patronus says too much. We'll definitely find out what Snape's worst fear is, and it'll be important. Hermione and Draco will NOT end up together in book 6 or 7. (never heard of that) We will find out what exactly Dudley saw when he looked at the dementors. The reason Voldemort and Harry both didn't die when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, will be revealed. We will see more of Draco's mother, Narcissa Malfoy, now that Lucius is busy. We'll learn more about Harry's scar in the last 2 books. Moaning Myrtle will make an appearance again, as will Tonks. More about Voldemort's birth will be revealed, thus helping us understand why he is so evil. Muggles begin to notice "more and more odd" occurrences in book 6, says JK. The wizarding world is really at war in the sixth book. Harry will tell his dearest friends about the prophesy after it sinks in to him. We will learn more about Harry's relatives, including his grandparents (though JK says they aren't really important to the story) We will find out what happened to Sirius's motorbike. Book 6 will be shorter than the 5th book (or at least JK's 99% sure, but will not swear on her children's lives) There will be no "new" nationalities of children at Hogwarts. Hogwarts is a British school, and JK says that adding foreigners for the sake of it is not in her plans. During an interview, when JKR was asked in which Hogwarts room she'd like to be for 1 hour, she said it would be a room in which Harry has been before, but doesn't know its importance. Yet. (this could have happened in book 5, but we're unsure) It's very important in the plot that Harry has his mother's eyes, and that her wand was very good for charms. During an interview for Kids BBC, Victor Greensteet (reporter) asked Rowling if Harry would have a dragon for a pet. This is what she replied: "You can't tame a dragon, no matter what Hagrid thinks. It's simply impossible. So no. He has more common sense. He MAY have a different pet in the future, but for now, I won't say anything else". (This could have been buckbeak, but I'm sure we can expect more pets) In the same interview for Kids BBC, the reporter asked J. K. if Harry had ever used the internet, and this is what she had to say: "No. They (the Dursleys) won't let him go near Dudley's computer, and Dudley is the only one who has a computer. They hit him if he gets too near to the keyboard. So the answer would be No. I use it a lot, but Harry doesn't. Wizards don't really need to go on the web. They have an even better way to find out what's happening in the outside world, which I think is a lot more fun than the Internet, but I'm going to keep quiet on this one." The choice between what's right and what's easy will be a pillar of the plot in Harry's last 2 years at Hogwarts. Harry's parents' profession will be a big part of the plot. And now some Theories on the last remaining books, this is where the fun part begins Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Theories A few theories have surfaced regarding future books from the happenings in Book Five. These are the best we have so far, however please do send any theories you may have that haven't already been glanced upon to Greg. (Please note: We do not post all theories - Those which are badly worded, obvious to almost anyone, or seem nearly impossible may be ignored.) Send your theories to Jude. We've all heard that Dumbledore knows pretty much everything that goes on at Hogwarts. He also didn't care if he lost all his acclaim except taking his face off the chocolate frog cards. Perhaps Dumbledore is using the chocolate frog cards of himself in the same way that the portraits of old headmasters spy on others. After all, look at all the times Harry and Ron have gotten chocolate frog cards with his picture on them. --Submitted by Sara *Emerson's Note: That's definitely possible, but maybe it was just a humorous quote JKR added to remind us why Dumbledore is so cool. There is much speculation that we haven't heard the last of Professor Trelawny's prophecies. It is likely that she will make another before the series concludes, so why not book six? Harry and Voldemort can't duel because Fawkes's tail feather is in both wands causing the reverse spell effect. So Harry isn't going to be able to use his wand against Voldemort's wand; the power to kill him is going to have to come from somewhere else. Where or what it is, I don't know, but it can't be wand magic. --Submitted by Ashley Sir Patrick Delaney Podmore (the head of the Headless Hunt) could be related to Sturgis Podmore from the Order of the Phoenix. --Submitted by Anka Dudley beat up a ten-year old named Mark Evans, who, coincidentally, shares a last name with Harry's mother. I dont think he will be Harry's lost brother because he's 10 (meaning Lily didnt die "that" night - which is impossible due to her protection on Harry). However, maybe Lily and Petunia had a brother? --Submitted by Anka An interesting anagram: "persues Evans" = "Severus Snape". Could Snape have been in love with Lily? He certainly hated James; He could even have been "the source" that warned Dumbledore and the order that Voldermort was after James and Lily. --Submitted by Anka. Could this also have been the motive for Snape becoming a spy? *Note from Adam: It has been pointed out that "persues" should actually be spelt "pursues" - This makes this anagram void. From what was said in book five, it would be logical to assume that Harry is Sirius's heir. So not only will Harry inherit Sirius's fortune and properties, but he will be the owner of 12 Grimmauld Place, and Kreacher's master. Harry is therefore going to have to control his feelings regarding the betrayal of Sirius (from Kreacher), and will have more responsibilities. --Submitted by Oswaldo Percy wrote a letter for Ron which attacked Harry and Dumbledore - or so it seems! If the letter is read in another way, warnings for the group begin to appear: advice about Umbridge taking control of Hogwarts; Possible removal of Dumbledore from the Headmaster´s office; the Minister of Magic trying to portray Harry as a psychotic guy; and lots of others. Could this suggest Percy is working for the Order (undercover), and perhaps Mr. Weasley and Percy, in the need of a cover staged the fight? --Submitted by Oswaldo On page 861 of the American version of OoTP, Nearly-Headless Nick tells Harry, "I know nothing of the secrets of death... I believe learned wizards study the matter in the Department of Mysteries." I'm assuming that Nick is referring directly or indirectly to the veil that Sirius fell through. It's entirely reasonable for the veil to be a connection, gateway, portal, whatever, to another plane: the plane where people go when they die. The veil is possibly an experiment by such 'learned wizards' trying to contact the dead or make a connection to this other plane. In this case, as Sirius didn't die from Bellatrix's spell, but merely from crossing the one-way gateway into this other plane, then the whispering voices that Harry hears are the voices of the dead, and this leaves the 'veil' open for later contact with Sirius - assuming that if one gets close enough, he or she can actually talk with the dead. I believe Mr. Weasley will become the Minister of Magic. The reasons are two: Fudge will probably be thrown out of office for not telling anyone about Voldemort; Ron said (in book 5 that "they have as much chance of winning the house cup as dad becoming Minister of Magic." And when Ron jokes about something, he's usually right. Who better for Dumbledore to place at the top than Mr. Weasley? --Submitted by Stevie Recycling of a book 5 theory that never materialized, but could in future books: In the first book, Hagrid told Harry he didn't think Voldemort had enough human left in him to die. In the fourth book, Voldemort needed human blood to bring him back to life. At the end of book 4, after Harry explained what Wormtail and Voldemort did to him, Dumbledore had a 'look of triumph' in his eyes, could this possibly be because Voldemort was human-enough to die? -Submitted by Lucy On page 835 of the American verision of the OotP, Dumbledore said he protected Harry with old magic that Voldemort hated and underestimated, or in other words, Lily's lingering protection that flows in Harry's blood. Later on in the conversation, Dumbledore said the locked door in the Department of Mysteries has a force that is "more wonderful and more terrible than death." He also said that Harry has such quantities of that power and Voldemort has none. Voldemort couldn't possess Harry because "he could not bear to reside in a body so full of the force he detests." Dumbledore told Harry that he didn't need Occlumency after all because his heart had saved him. So could all of this mean that Lily's lingering protection was love? Could this type of strong love be the power in the locked room that Harry has and Voldemort doesn't? Plus, maybe Voldemort couldn't possess Harry because Harry's body was full of his mother's love. Voldemort couldn't stand to be in a body filled with motherly love. Voldemort never knew what a mother's love for her child is because his mother died when he was born. And he certainly didn't get any love from his father, who dumped him in an orphanage. *Note from Jamie: Maybe 'love' is just what JKR wants us to think and she has told us all this to throw us off scent. There may be another power that Harry has that resides inside the Department of Mysteries. Could Harry be a metamorphmagus? In SS/PS JKR writes that Harry had grown back his hair over night after his Aunt Petunia had given him an awful haircut. You obviously have to concentrate on changing your appearance if you are a metamorphmagus, and Harry was concentrating very hard on his hair because he was worried about the way it looked. --Submitted by Amanda Lucius Malfoy was a guest at the Quidditch World Cup, and he was credited for making a significant contribution to St. Mungo's. In Order of the Phoenix, we are continually reminded of how Lucius buys people, such as the Minister of Magic. Also, someone made the poor guy snuff it in the same ward as the Longbottoms. Could it be that Lucius Malfoy is seeing to it that Neville's parent's conditions won't improve? I believe so, and I also believe that there is more to those gum wrappers than we know as well. --Submitted by David Book Seven Theories I think the outcome of book 7 is pretty well set. Voldemort will die, whether Harry goes with him or not is uncertain. Voldemort must die because if he lives on, with Harry dead, he will never die! No other person would be able to kill him due to what the prophecy said, he wouldn't even die of old age of disease because he isn't mortal anymore. He would just live on forever and eventually take over the wizarding and muggle world - No writer in their right minds would kill off the whole world! --Submitted by Nicole In book seven, Dumbledore will be killed by Voldemort. It will be the last and final straw before Harry kills Voldemort. He will sacrifice himself for Harry, and pay the consequences. Harry will then have a great power with in him, more wonderful and more terrible than anything before, and finally defeat Voldemort. There is another side to this story though. It might very well be possible that Wormtail will sacrifice himself instead since, he is in dept to Harry. Harry's Mom loved him so much that she gave her life for him. She gave him a power that Voldemort could not understand, love. Obviously she is not his enemy, but Wormtail is. He is the reason why Harry's parents are dead. Harry's enemy Wormtail (aka Peter Pettigrew), will give his life to save him, and give him a power that Voldemort will again, not understand. -- Submitted by GeorgiaT Harry will destroy Voldemort the same way his mother did. Harry will sacrifice his life, most likely for either Hermione or Ginny, and the spell will rebound with such intensity from the first time that Voldemort will utterly be destroyed! As for Harry, will he come back to life or not, that is something only JKR can determine. Hopefully she will let him live in the end. -- Submitted by Eric Something HUGE will be revealed about Lily Potter. General Facts Not Disclosed in the Books *newest on the top Prefects can take points, Ron got it wrong in OotP, which makes him a pretty poor prefect eh? Fred and George Weasley were born on April Fool's day (no joke). Ginny Weasley's first name is Ginevra and she is the first female Weasley born for "several generations," says JK. Author Weasley has 2 brothers. Molly Weasley's maiden name is Prewett. Crookshakes is half Kneazle. The infamous Weasley cousin who was cut from the books was called Mafalda. She was in Slytherin. Dean Thomas's father was killed by Death Eaters when he refused to join them. Neither Dean nor his mother know this. Dean Thomas's was called Gary in the first drafts of the Philosopher's Stone Harry's middle name is "James." Hagrid, Lily, and James were in Gryffindor. (Hagrid was NOT in Hufflepuff.) Lily Potter's maiden name was Evans. There are about a thousand students at Hogwarts. (True, that doesn't seem right, but J.K. said so, and she's the boss.) James Potter was a Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. (They said he was a Chaser in the books, Seeker in the movie.) Hermione's birthday is September 19th, Ron's is March 1st. James Potter inherited lots of money, so he didn't need a well-paying profession. James Potter inherited the invisibility cloak from his father. Witches and wizards have longer life spans than muggles. The Gringott's goblins' return the muggle money they acquire back into circulation. The approximate value of a Galleon is about five pounds ($7.30 or 8.00 Euro), though the exchange rate varies. Dumbledore is 150, McGonagall is 70 (and is really an old softy, just doesn't act like it), Snape is 35 or 36. Hogwarts school motto, "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus," means, "Never tickle a sleeping dragon." If placed in front of a mirror, the inscription on the Mirror of Erised ("Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on whosi") reads, "I show not your face but your hearts desire." The happiest people do not become ghosts (12) (therefore we can take it that ghosts are people that died while sad, angry, etc. Myrtle was teased, Nearly Headless Nick didn't have his head completely chopped off, the Bloody Baron was...lonely?) The Hogwarts teachers do not stay at Hogwarts during the Christmas holidays. Filch, Hagrid, and Dumbledore do. A few of the Hogwarts professors have spouses, but that information is restricted for reasons we will find out about later. (5) To remove the tail that Hagrid gave Dudley in the hut on the rock, the Dursleys went to a private hospital where the staff was very discreet, and said that a wart had got out of control. (9) Aragog is an Acromantula (see "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them"). (6) Dragons can't be domesticated, no matter what Hagrid thinks. (6) There's more to the cats in the story (Crookshanks, Mrs. Figg's cats, Mrs. Norris, etc.) than meets the eye. (9) The animal an Animagi turns into is a reflection on his/her personality. (8) For Hagrid, keeping dangerous creatures is all about overcoming something that could kill him. (6) Azkaban is in a sea north of the North Sea. A very cold sea. (12) You can do unfocused and uncontrolled magic without a wand (like when Harry blows up Aunt Marge), but to do really good spells you need a wand. (5) Muggle school is not required for wizard children prior to attending Hogwarts. (9) A magical quill detects the birth of every magical child, and records it in a book; Professor McGonagall sends an owl to each child when he or she turns 11. (14) Thought I would share that would you, anyway if Harry or Dumbledore dies at the 7th book, I will cry..I hate being sensitive, but I'll cry like a baby.
  4. Definently. As for the Half-Blood Prince, I don't know if its a new character, I mean it would be kind of late to introduce a new character in the second last installment of a series. But if it is, I'm down with that. For some reason I think its Hagrid.
  5. Getting sick of The Reason by Hoobastank, Nelly's new piece of shit song, and Nina sky at first was ok, but now is plain annoying especially all the other 1000 different versions of it.
  6. And once again we keep guessing Since Bana is out, theres still a hope that it could be Clive Owen, or Collin Farrell.....and the rumours of Bloom being Bond has risen up.
  7. I didn't hate the movie, and I didn't love it, it was ok, I thought the overall message was good, but the execution should have been done a bit differently, I also felt cheated, but not too cheated. I blame it on the commercials!
  8. I hope he joins, but as for the movie itself, not looking forward to it, why did Singer have to let go of X-men!? NMow I'm scared like hell for the new director, or the likelihood of being no X3. WHY OH WHY!! What if the new director does not continue the stroyline that was left at the end of X2.
  9. Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon, Maid in Manhattan, Schindler's List) and Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) have joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures' Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter novel series. Fiennes will play Harry Potter's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, and Richardson takes on the role of muckraking journalist Rita Skeeter. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is directed by Mike Newell (Mona Lisa Smile, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and produced by David Heyman from a screenplay by Steve Kloves. David Barron serves as executive producer. As previously announced, the production has welcomed several new cast members to the ensemble, including Brendan Gleeson, who plays Hogwarts' new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Mad-Eye Moody. Frances De La Tour plays the Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Madame Maxime; Roger Lloyd-Pack plays the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Barty Crouch; Pedja Bjelac plays Durmstrang Professor Igor Karkaroff; Jeff Rawle plays Amos Diggory; and David Tennant plays Barty Crouch Jr. New additions to the young cast include Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory; Stanislav Ianevski as Quidditch star Viktor Krum; Clemence Poesy as Fleur Delacour; and Katie Leung as Cho Chang. Daniel Racliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Tom Felton once again reprise the roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and their archrival Draco Malfoy, respectively. In the roles of fellow Hogwarts students are Matthew Lewis as Neville; Devon Murray as Seamus; Jamie Waylett as Crabbe; Joshua Herdman as Goyle; Alfie Enoch as Dean; Oliver and James Phelps as Fred and George Weasley; and Chris Rankin as Percy. Returning to the adult ensemble are Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid; Michael Gambon as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore; Robert Hardy as Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge; Shirley Henderson as Moaning Myrtle; Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy; Gary Oldman as Sirius Black; Alan Rickman as Professor Snape; Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall; Timothy Spall as Peter Pettigrew; and Mark Williams as Arthur Weasley. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire will be released in November 2005 by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company. Link A fitting cast, this movie is getting better and better, and I'm also happy that Lucious Malfoy is back! And in other news, we all know the 6th Harry Potter book is called the Half-Blood Prince, but who do you guys think it is??
  10. I still say Harry as the main villain, and the Lizard as the secondary villain, basically he tries to help Lizard, he tries to find him, Harry finds out, they both find him, big fight, COnners helps Spidey at the end, they find a cure.....then done. No matter how much I love Venom, I think its a bit too late to introduce Venom.
  11. The Village: 6/10 The ending was a bit anti-climactic for me, but it wasn't all that bad. Not a horrible movie though. A good flick with some really good underlying themes. What!? Blame the False Advertisements.
  12. I agree with you said, and it is my favourite. I never believed a documentary could be entertaining, but boy I was wrong. It was my first, but won't be my last. I heard Super Size is also good, I'll wait for it on dvd. Same for Fareneheight 9/11.
  13. The final game will be played at the ACC right? I'll try to get a hold of those, if Canada goes to the finals(which we will, and destroy USA, something we should of done last time)
  14. This is the main reason why I'm looking forward to Episode 3, this fight will be sick, another classic Star Wars moment will be made! I can't wait...I know the pics don't show a lot, but this fight is rumoured to be like 10 minutes long! I think a lot of people are looking foward to this scene, some of us have been waiting a very long time to see this on the silver screen.(Like me). The fight scene should be dynamic since both actors have been working on this duel for so long before production started. Here are the early pics: Obi Wan vs. Anakin
  15. Has potential to be great, the beginning credits were Golden.
  16. I think Bana will do fine, but I'm quite surprised.....Can't wait for Bond 21
  17. The First looks ok, but the other 2 suck. They don't look like Posters. I don't think they are, but you never know
  18. The worst thing about the movie is its release date....why are they pulling a George Lucas on us! WHY!! As for the villains, it would be more reasonable to make Harry GG 2, and The Lizard as the next two villains, and probably in the intr show a minor villain like Rhyno or The Vulture.
  19. Laice07

    Game

670....I also suck. Original game though, I mean theres one thing of throwing the paper in the basket, but catching it Thats what I call a Revolutionary game
  20. Thunderbirds: 3/10 Oh how hate going with my little sister to the theatres, but unlike Garfield, this had nothing redeeming about it. Not even the sweetness of Jennifer Love Hewitt. Movies like this make me appreciate movies like Garfield, which I don't think it should do, actually no movie should do that. Oh, Harry Potter, how miss you..... Anyway for anyone wanting to watch this don't.... watch the first and second Spy Kids movies, comparing this movie to SPy Kids, is like Comparing Jean Claude Van Dammes acting ability with Tom Hanks. But I gave it a 3, because the ships looked cool. Worst movie of 2004 folks. The TV series is better then this.
  21. Don't forget about the amazing Song selection(especially at the end) By far the worst movie I have ever seen.
  22. The Rocky movies(I will see them one day) The Exorcist(don't plan to) Citizen Kane(Soon I will though)
  23. Its better then Orlando Bloom My pick would go either to Clive Owen or Colin Farrel
  24. Well There will be two villains, one main one Raul Gaul or something like that, and the Scarecrow. (I don't know my Batman )
  25. Batman Begins Teaser I think it looks really good! Definently shows that this Batman is much more darker, edgier, and serious then Burtons or Shumachers Batmen What do you guys think?
