  3. I beat Brazil 3-0 on straight pens yesterday in the World Cup final. Robinson = legend.
  4. The best way I win penalties is to use a nippy player like Messi or Cassano and run at the defender holding R2 instead of R1. He keeps backing off till you eventually catch up to him. Then use that R1 and R2 super dribble to knock the ball ahead of you at a 45 degree angle. If timed right, the defender still sticks his leg out and brings you down, often with red card results. Doesnt really work with big or slow players who won't go down. Plus if you don't time it right, you can run the risk of kicking the ball out for a goal kick embarrasingly.
  5. Haha. I think it was somewhere on here where someone said they corrupted their girlfriend using the Best of RAW DVD. Not a bad idea that...
  6. Girly girls love Mario 3 on the NES. That's pretty much fact. Other girls like, I dunno. Where would you meet a girl who liked games and wrestling? Answer that and you're a better man than me...
  7. Hot diggity, seems like all the decent games come out at the same time. I've already got hold of/ordered PES6, SVR2007 and maybe M:UA. Then there's shedloads more coming out. And I need to get a replacement copy of No Mercy for my N64.
  8. Ah I see, I didn't get this one right away so that didn't occur to me that he hadn't started using it yet. :pinch:
  9. Is it SVR06 where Carlito has that crap Overdrive thing for both his finisher slots, despite the Backcracker being in the game?
  10. Can't believe it's Have A Nice Day Mankind aswell again. They've only done it so you can have the Rock N' Sock Connection...
  11. This isn't completely relevant to that of the discussion about which companies are gonna be around in the future. But the one thing I would like to add about the future of gaming industry and it's part of why I dislike Microsoft and the XBox, is that of online play. I really, really hope that this isn't the future for games. It's something that games companies are pushing big time with the new consoles and even the PS2, and I am largely against it. I don't mind the odd online game with things like Pro Evo, Smackdown and MMORPG's etc. But I get the feeling that sooner or later the "single-player" mode is just gonna be an addition to the online mode. Again, I'm not sure how relevant that is to this discussion, but just something on my mind at the moment. Apologies if I'm way wide of the mark here. And to finish...
  12. Right, I've been playing for a good few solid hours in total now and I think I've finally summed up the balance to the game. Still one or two things I'm not too hot on, but not a game ruiner. Like my international challenge. So we get France in the quarters and it seems fixed so that they win everytime. Still, there'll be a mighty roar from my bedroom when those frogs finally get it.
  13. God damn I wish I had this! Now you're all making me want it more with every other post being "This game is fucking awesome!!!" or "Best one ever!!!" Bastards.
  14. Anyone watch the Simpsons on channel 4 just now? I couldn't stop laughing at the bit where McBains hummer drives over the gate...
  15. Yeah. It seems as though if it's not Henry, C. Ronaldo or Adriano then it just goes anywhere. Although that might have something to do with my incessant holding of R1. Btw, has anyone seen Ronaldo's (Real Madrid one) acceleration and top speed stats? :ohwell:
  16. I know what you mean about the passing being slow. But then I thought that with the fifth one, and possibly with the fourth one too. Yet like those two, I think I'll probably adapt to it and begin to appreciate it. Something else that's beginning to annoy me is that I keep losing the ball either with my backline, or my forwards really cheaply. Just like poor control and then it falls to the opposition. Off round to a mates to have a big tournament tonight mind. I get the feeling it's gonna be awesome on multiplayer.
  17. Got this today for about £26 on PS2, complete with free water bottle and PS2 controller. Played a couple of games, and I like. Only really played a few games, but can say already that Manchester United are the team on this. They're just one of those teams that click, its hard to explain. Plus with strength being a bigger factor in this one, Rooney's stoutness makes him nigh on unstoppable, with Drogba also a great player. Inter are still a hundred times better than they should be, with a terrific strikeforce (I scored four or five on my first attempt with them :/).Good to see Juve in the game too. I can't really give much definites on the gameplay, as I'm still discovering things as I play. Although there's lots more animations, which means you find that you can play passes in more directions etc. that you couldn't on PES5, simply because the animation to do so didn't exist on it, but does now. Heading is also a much more potent threat when attacking as crosses are now much more slick and quicker, instead of hanging in the air for an age like on the previous edition. So far it's shaping up well though. However if there is one negative point for me, it's that it doesn't feel like a true sequel to the last. Just a better Pro 5. You know, "Football Manager Syndrome", in that, it's not a sequel, just a more refined, improved update. Although it makes you think, if they can get all these animations on a PS2, imagine the posibilites for PES on PS3?
  18. Gotta be FFX12. I've been waiting for this fucker for years now, to not get it would be such a slap in the face.
