  1. lol, Wogan. "IT'S FEARNE! I KNOW THAT GIRL!!!" The woman with the light on her hand should have won. That shit was crazy.
  2. Not sure really. Just looking at how many teams have been taken over by rich people in recent times, and there's only Chelsea who've taken the big step up, for obvious reasons. You look at the recent Premiership teams that have been taken over, not many are doing better than they were than previously, and it seems that the ones that are is under the guidance of the excellent managers in charge... - Man. United - Portsmouth - Aston Villa - West Ham With United and Portsmouth doing well seemingly under Fergusons and Redknapps wily management, while Villa haven't done much to shout about. West Hams situation speaks for itself. So yeah, I don't know why, I'll just believe it when I see it I guess.
  3. Can't see Liverpool or Arsenal challenging next year myself. It looks like a two horse race without serious investment into the other two sides. They're just too inconsistent.
  4. So, turns out I might be able to get time off for this. Is it too late though? I've never been to Download before, just considered it. Is there allocated tickets or do they just keep selling?
  5. Awesome. And I heard one of the tracks off of Era Vulgaris is gonna be on GHIII. It's a good day.
  6. Anyone heard 'I Love My Chick' by Busta Rhymes or whoever it is? Absolutely diabolical.
  7. Ah, worst week in recent football. Man United - Chelsea was gold I tells you. But now the title race is all but over, and we've got the same final as in 2005. Which while I'll definintly watch, is the last of the four possible options I'd have liked to have seen given the semi-finals. Still, there's always the FA Cup. And Hull City are staying up.
  8. Gotta love a bit of Blue Shadow, Maniac Mansion and Totally Rad. They were great games...for their time. Probotector was cool for the fifteen minutes I played it for before I died too. Oh, and the Ghostbusters game on the NES. This one... Why was Winston blue?

    Peep Show

So, anyone being watching Series 4 of this? I thought Episode 1 was above average, but not classic Peep Show, while the next two have been back at it's brilliant best.

    British TV Shows

Everyone knows Operation Good Guys is the best police comedy ever. Not only in England but internationally too. It's gold on three discs, available for cheap too.
  11. That's a shit name. But seriously, who's Kriss Angel?
  12. Yeah I caught the one with the doll and the fake money the other night. It's much better than that seance crap he did a few years ago. Anyone see the one where he recreated some video game and put some bloke into it, with zombies and everything? He's the sort of guy I can imagine practising dark magic at home. What's the book called?
  13. My PS2 recently started reading disks on and off. Then not at all. I tried to fix it with help from CSAMH but it came at no reward unfortunately. In the end I just got a new PS2. Not really providing the good news you wanted, but there you go.
  14. Anyone watch Dead Mans Shoes last night? Really enjoyed it, easily a 9/10 film. Considine is awesome in it and the film flutters between dark drama and comedy with ease. A seriously enjoyable film, it'll be repeated on Film4 within the week. Watch it. EDIT - Actually, seeing as Zero's mentioned Hot Fuzz above. Those who don't know who Considine is, will probably recognise him from Hot Fuzz. He's one of the two arsehole cops.
  15. Just got House of the Dead 3 for a fiver. Ah, nostalgia...
  16. Alright thanks, I'll give that a shot later tonight. (Y) Although if I'm honest I'm not holding out much hope.
  17. I wouldn't know where to start to be honest, though I might as well considering it'll just be replaced otherwise. What do you clean the lense with?
  18. I'll be honest, CM:00-01 gave a little bias there with Montella, but actually thinking about it. He's played in Serie A what? All his career? Then he comes across after being left out of his side, and not exactly to one of the big teams and seems to have adapted really well and quickly. Look at Shevchenko at Chelsea who's in a similar boat. He's playing with some of the worlds best players and is struggling to score.
  19. I meant triple. As for Pedersen, I was thinking about this the other day while watching highlights. There's a few players in the league who just seem to be involved in everything. Every attack you hear his name mentioned at least once, same with Sidwell and more obviously Lampard/Gerrard.
  20. For me, there's just too much United in there. It's a strange argument but it sort of goes against what the awards are about really. Same with Ronaldo winning both awards. Yeah he was good, but it's just not...right. I'd go for... Player of the Year - Ronaldo Young Player of the Year - Foster GK - Friedel (The most underrated player the games ever known) DR - Eboué (He's one of those players I really noticed this season, while Neville kind of goes under the radar sometimes) DL - Baines (If anyone from the Wigan side doesn't deserve a relegation dogfight it's him) DC - Vidic (Overcame a poor start at the club to have a tremendous season) DC - Carvalho (Chelseas unsung hero. On his day is a better tackler of the ball than Terry, maybe Ferdinand too) MR - Agbonlahor (Another candidate for young player of the year, fizzled out slightly at the end, but was key for Villa throughout) ML - Ronaldo (Err, yeah) MC - Scholes (Gone off the boil in recent weeks, but has generally been consistently excellent over the months. Especially after that eye injury) MC - Gilberto Silva/Michael Essien (Really hard to choose here as they've both done their job really well and dragged their teams to victories on occasions) FC - Drogba (The top goalscorer in the league but he's been so much more) FC - McCarthy (Basically he's scoring goals for fun in a team that's not as strong as the Spurs one, so he goes in over Berbatov) Honourable Mentions Keane - Spurs Berbatov - Spurs Montella - Fulham Shorey - Reading Sidwell - Reading Martins - Newcastle Pedersen - Blackburn Clearly the manager of the season is Steve Coppell. Anyone who says Ferguson at this moment in time is a highly optimistic United fan. He only deserves it if they get the quadruple.
  21. So, last night marked the death of my PS2. It died in it's sleep aged 6 from some sort of lense difficulty which means it now reads no discs at all. It picked the worst time to die to, as I've got a lot of games to finish off, Digital Devil Saga 1 + 2, FF12, Burnout Dominator, Vandal Hearts 2, Front Mission 3, Guitar Hero 2, as well as the occasional blasts on PES6 and SVR2007. So clearly I need to get a new one, regardless of the PS3. What I wanted to know is how much should I be looking at paying for a new one? I know there's a few guys who work in console shops on here and was hoping you'd help me. At the moment it generally looks to be about £99.99, which would be about £89 with my staff discount. That's not too bad, but I was wondering if anyone knew how much I should be paying, and if there's going to be any PS3 related price drops soon? *I wouldn't normally be so tight-fisted but I need a new phone too, fell out my pocket while I was up a ladder yesterday. :ohwell:
  22. Get some Cat Stevens on... That's a bit more modern.
  23. I'd like to have seen Wolfmother much further down. Not because I dislike them, but because they've got a few popular catchy songs that can get people going on the way to a great set. I definitly wouldn't have Velvet Revolver that high either, unless it's to warm down the crowd before MCR. (Not a big fan of either to be honest). Actually looking at Fridays main stage, I'm not that hot on any of it. Saturday and maybe Sunday are looking like my points of interest. As others have said, there's still some to be announced, maybe enough to knock Dragonforce off of the bill.
