  1. The whole interview is really eye opening and humanising. Everyone's seen the pictures in papers etc but until this no one would know what's really been going on for him. I'm glad he's managed to find the strength to speak openly about his life and struggles and he seems to be going on the right track again. Hopefully he can get his career back on track too, be a shame given his talent.
  2. Don't necessarily agree with this point. Whilst it is profiting from Saudi clubs, its not being owned essentially by the country and by proxy all the things linked to the regime. It's still not great but its a case of a lesser evil. I'd be sad if Henderson goes, purely from an ethical perspective of I feel all the work he's done as a captain of a Premier League club and the work he's done on the LGBTQIA+ side of things it'd feel like he's sold out on his morals for the bag
  3. Pau Torres has signed for Villa. Undisclosed fee. Great bit of business that
  4. Update: Won the FA Trophy with Oldham by battering Southend 5-1 and managed to secure 7th in the table which meant I qualified for the playoffs. Managed to beat Solihull Moors on pens, Rochdale and then Gateshead in the final. Did a complete renovation of the squad, focusing on free transfers and players aged up to around 23 and suprisingly I was top of the table by the back end of November and had qualified for the FA Cup 2nd round nad the Papa Johns 2nd round. This is where things took a turn as I started getting offers for job interviews by Derby and Coventry who were both struggling in the Championship. Decided in the end to take the Coventry job so they were 17th when I took over them. Played 8 games with them and my record is 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses which I'm quite happy with. Just want to finish mid table and see what happens. Was quite shocked though that I managed to go from Vanarama National North up to League 2 and then completely skipped League 1. Seems the work I did with Oldham meant I was the current inthing
  5. Cult of the Lamb is a really fun game. Got it as part of the Steam sale and been having a blast with it. Need to play some more ideally. Same with Yakuza 7. Instead I've just been playing FM and AEW: Fight Forever cause I can have FM on in the background whilst working and AEW I can just play a few matches quickly after work before the missus gets home.
  6. Yeah I think the ruling from this is more likely to cause further monopolisation. Sony will want to counteract the Activision and Bethesda acquisitions so would not be shocked really if they just start going out for some of the bigger name studios/developers and Microsoft counteract, Sony counteract etc. It is just as you said the consumer is the ones who will be hurt the most.
  7. I'd be worried. We've all seen the footage of 3 year old Matty Longstaff dribbling past him and scoring. Absolute waste of money
  8. Gerrard was a fine Aston Villa manager and the fans who disagree are charlatans. They wouldn't be where they are now without him...
  9. Played a match of each match type with a friend before and we had a proper laugh playing it just messing about, having some good matches then trying to have some mental moments as well. It is mad how divisive the game is really, it's such a both ends of the spectrum in terms of views on it.
  10. City have been accused of another dodgy sponsorship deal. Also....
  11. Love the product placement. "Do some skill moves and now take a swig out that can of Red Bull...Nice Fabio!"
  12. It's always good to keep in the forefront of who Newcastle's owners are and what they stand for. Crap for the fans as stated multiple times but still sportswashing is sportswashing.
  13. Caved a couple of weeks ago and finally purchased this years version of the game. Started off as Chester manager in the Vanarama North and managed to get to the FA Cup 3rd Round with an away tie at Watford in which I got absolutely battered but still financially it put the club in a really good place. A middling FA trophy run accompanied that but won the league with 100 points. First season in the Vanarama started off really well then hit a rough patch, was top and then due to how tight the league is I ended up about 8th just outside the playoff positions. Oldham offered me a job and I took it so despite dropping down in position, the appeal of professional status and bigger wage budget to work with to build a team made it easy for me to leave. Currently 9th with Oldham, 1 point ahead of Chester and 4 points off playoff positions. There's a gap between 5th and 6th so the best I can really hope for is to finish in the 6th/7th position.
  14. Surprised the glossy effect wasn't from the blood of people opressed by your owners
  15. Wonder why that Newcastle kits green....
  16. The goalkeeper kits really nice as well, but best be hoping the jeans are stretchy
  17. The January we got Van Dijk we'd sold Coutinho for stupid stupid money and had still sold more than we spent. It's not about the spending money or being "paupers" that's not the argument, for me its more around squad planning. The year we somehow finished 3rd despite having to play Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams at centre back for the back end of the season after having tried Henderson/Fabinho at centre back at times was due to not getting a centre back in after letting Lovren leave. We end up getting a centre back in Konate the following season. I get the argument of we played virtually every game when we won the double last season but even going into that season I still felt we needed another body in midfield given Chamberlain/Keita's injury records and us letting Gini who never appeared to get injured go. Be an excellent signing for Villa if they can pull it off
  18. Very true but at the same time it's showing that Arsenal are trying to strengthen from a position of nearly missing out on the title think that's my issue with us the past few seasons and rightfully so given the midfield situation which then turned into let's panic loan in a guy who will play about 20 minutes against someone in the league Cup and a sub appearance against Napoli.
  19. Depresses me that Arsenal just go and drop 150+ mil on two players after missing out on the title. Year we won the Champions League we got Adrian, Harvey Elliott and Sepp Van Der Berg...
  20. I got this discounted as I had points on Game Collection and I think that's where the game stands tbh. Like I've had fun but it's not something you could play for hours on end on your own. You could with friends and have a laugh but not by yourself but I'm glad I didn't pay full whack for it. It's a solid effort but not quite hitting the mark in some areas but at the same time it's going to be very much a mixed bag of it's either for you or it really isn't. Hopefully they can support the game and keep adding to it that way.
  21. Well it's realistically after the news of Mbappe/Madrid looking like it'll be this summer or next it leaves either yourselves or Bayern and I'd rather he go Bayern.
  22. Hello Europa, it's been a while If we get the final, a Liverpool game in Dublin would be one of the quickest to get to and the most chaotic times in the build up.
  23. Can City just fuck off buying anyone good in the Prem please. Wonder if West Ham will try and get Kalvin Phillips and money out of it. May potentially be more beneficial for them than just straight up cash
  24. Imagine not playing Trent given his passing ability can add another dimension to the team. Gonna be funny when he gets dropped for a game against a half-decent side
