  1. Lombard vs. Bisping would be my guess if Bisping hadn't been a coach only a season a go. Maybe Noke drops to Welterweight and faces Che Mills? Mills seems like he would be a good choice for TV, Noke has just about enough credibility left to drop to Welterweight and headline the show, my only thought here is that he is a pretty bland guy. Can't really think of any other options.
  2. He'll get signed when he is out, without a doubt. The amount of effort clubs and agents go into covering stuff up, I'm pretty sure they will not be morally against signing Evans, examples - Lee Hughes & Marlon King.
  3. I'm having a fun game with Burnley at the moment, first game I've really gotten into with this years game. Just got them promoted after a couple of years in the Championship, lost in the play-offs in the first year to West Ham, I didn't really want to go up that soon, needed to do some re-building. Brought in guys like Joe Lewis, Lukas Jutkiewicz and Steven Davies. Lukas and Jay-Rod got 40 odd goals between them, Stanislas and Davies out wide weighing in with plenty of assists. The two years in the Championship have screwed me up a little financially though, so I'm hoping for a few seasons of surviving relegation and making money before heavy investment. Been signing plenty of youngster with potential on the cheap though, the promotion has given me much more freedom with my scouting. Team that I'm hoping will keep me up; Lewis Lichaj - Amougou - Ryan Bennett - Van Aanholt Stanislas - McCann - Cairney - S Davies Jutkiewicz - Rodriguez Subs: M Anderson, Edgar, Easton, Jamie Ness, Danny Graham, McKee, Abdurahmi.
  4. If Diaz truly retires from MMA for those reasons, that the guys won't 'fight' him, he's going to have a fun time boxing. I found it interesting that Diaz never really changed up his gameplan, hard to tell whether that was down Condit being too evasive or if Diaz was just being stubborn, 50% success rate with his takedowns showed that it could've been something he should've tried more often, especially when he occasionally had him pinned against the cage. In regards to the other fights, how fucking tough is Roy Nelson? Jesus christ, some of those knees were brutal. Werdum/Mir would be a good fight. Koscheck/Pierce fight was pretty shit, and probably a more contentious decision than the main event, feel like Herb Dean should've deducted a point for the poking, what's the point in giving a warning if it leads to an eye poke and is only punished with another warning? Caceres got a 2 point deduction. Different in a way but still a little inconsistent.
  5. I think seeing a Sonnen/Bisping fight after a normal amount of preperation time would've been interesting. Sonnens performance also makes me wonder how well he would've done against Munoz. In regards to Bisping though, he has faced some of the best grapplers in the business now and he's shown he's very capable of defending take-downs, scrambling and generally nulifying their strengths. He certainly didn't get 'grapplefucked' in any of those fights and only lost because UFC judges are biased towards wrestling. He didn't deserve to lose the fight, but then he didn't really do much to win it other than counter Sonnen. I was really disappointed with his stand up to, when Sonnen gassed in the second I was hoping for Bisping to pick him apart and stamp his authority on the fight, but instead he probably burnt himself out more on the fence and subsequently got controlled in the third. I can't think of many fighters above Bisping in terms of talent though. And I'm not sure if I agree with some of the statements about how he has been booked, I mean the Leben fight was dangerous, especially when people are saying that against anyone with power he'll get beat, well Bisping knocked plenty of people out and would've if he caught Bisping, he didn't. The Evans and Hamill fights were both very early in his UFC career, so fighting top class grapplers like that not long after coming over to America, I think he deserves more credit than he got for hanging with them with zero wrestling background. Miller is a bit of a gatekeeper and only seems to lose the top tier guys, almost knocked out Palhares as well, but yeah I agree with the consensus here, not a great fighter. I can't see a fight against a middleweight where Bisping loses out right though, bar Anderson Silva. I honestly think he could beat Munoz, Belfort and Stann, he's a better boxer than all of them, he made a huge mistake in the Henderson fight, he didn't respect his power and constantly circled towards that right hand, I don't see him making a mistake like that again. Anyway, really looking forward to tonights event. Some of the fights could be fantastic, one is obviously the main event which could be an absolute war, or Condit gets abused by the jab for five rounds. Renan Barao vs Scott Jorghenson could be awesome too. And for the Pat Barry fans out there he's got an exciting fight coming up against Lavar Johnson, was announced a couple of days ago. Johnson has a massive reach advantage (who doesn't against Barry) and is probably the most danreous striker he has faced since Kongo so could be another one of those fights. It's probably the fisrt fight I can think of where Barry is facing someone with a ground game as good as his own.

  7. Josh McQuoid has joined Burnley on loan from Millwall, should improve our options up front, although unless he's really good, I can't see him being chosen over Jay Rod or Pato (assuming he stays fit). Austin gets started a lot too, but usually does better as a 70th minute sub. Injured in the 'Boro game, out for a month I think. Stanislas is out for six weeks too. McQuoid is decent, but I think I'd rather see Ings getting a game or two till Paterson is back to match fitness. He scored a decent goal for the reverses on his 'debut' and looks pretty lively. Can't wait for the Forest match, will be my first away game (tenner a ticket, can't say no to that!)
  8. I could probably find this on the internet but i am lazy. How is a Wi-fi connection purchased or connected? Does it cost anything? Has diamond or pearl been released in the UK?
  9. Yeah i am bringing up the Tevez thing again, not to argue just wondering about a few things, and before you ask i am not a Burnley fan but i support West Ham in a sense. Mainly curious if anything like this has happened in the past? And if so what punishments were taken? Seems little redundant to me to be arguing about them not being punished correctly when the only marker they can go off was involved in a cup not a league. Just to clarify not calling the people arging it redudant, even though y'all are cunts to each other anyways, just the argument about the punishment not being wrong. Other thing i was curious about when i was reading about the transfer when it happened back in August 06 the mention of a third party ownership was brought up then, if the media were aware of this then wouldn't the FA been aware of it? Also is their a statement saying they withheld the documents? Just would like to see a credible one, the BBC one really didn't state that documents were hidden rather that the agreement between the third party had been terminated? Another thing, yeah i am rambling, if the transfer of Tevez was illegal then the transfer of Mascherano was illegal so should he of been allowed to sign for Liverpool, not only that but isn't their a rule on the number of different clubs a player can play for in one season? Also stating that West Ham would of go down if Tevez hadn't of been playing for them seems a little off for me, as it was the team and manager that got the 7 wins out of the last 9 games, i think if any player in the team is awarded as the person who kept the team up it should be Robert Green, kept Arsenal, Manchester Utd and others teams out with fantastic performances. Anyway i'll list what i think is team of season. Outside of Man Utd & Chelsea GK - David James DL - Gareth Barry DR - Phil Neville DC - Daniel Agger DC - Jamie Carragher ML - Morten Gamst Pederson MR - Ashley Young MC - Steven Gerrard MC - Gilberto Silva FC - Dimitar Berbatov FC - Benni McCarthy (Bah Humbug!) S1 - Ben Foster S2 - Matthew Taylor S3 - Phil Jagielka S4 - Mark Viduka S5 - Thomas Rosicky I'm sure you add subs for team of season...could just be FM imprinted in my mind though.
  10. Haha how did i know a Blackburn fan would be first to reply to that. I am born and bred Burnley, nothing to be proud of but i stay loyal. Blackburn fans are just jealous of us >.>
  11. Heh Alves definatly deserves that award after all the effort he has put in over the year, maybe if he got brought into the Premiership he would get as much flak as Drogba and change his act up, although Drogba does sneak them in still. I thought Liverpool would win it haven't they won it consecutivly over last few years? Or am i just making that up? Agree with the Paletta comment asl well, could do with a gritty season in the Championship at Burnley (Yeah i am a Burnley fan). Must be difficult with the language differences within the defense aswell, especially when communication is key as a centre back, and can't imagine he has become fluent at talking or understanding English in a year. Unless he learnt the language prior to the move.
  12. I think Carson will leave Liverpool this summer had way too much exposure to first team football in the Premiership for him to go back to playing in the reserves and cup games. Liverpool have the talent to be competitors for the title, Benitez just needs to sort out an away tactic that is consistently effective and doesn't just kill off games. Arsenal need some experience in their team, the fact that Gilberto Silva has been one of their players of the season it shows the blend of experience and youth works well, just too much youth. Man Utd desperatly need an out and out goal scorer up front someone like Miroslav Klose that type of player or they may drift back into not challenging next season. Benitez has brought in some very talented youngsters, not sure about Paletta though. Will have to try and catch the Pool/Charlton game to catch the left back your talking about in action not seen him play. Just remembered has the second leg of the youth cup been played? I know Utd were up from the first leg.
  13. Wasn't he playing in central midfield and left wing around the time he snapped his achilles? I'm asking because i'm not sure, could come across as trying to be a smart arse. I am sure i remember he becoming a regular at central midfield and left wing just before he had the injury, which is a bad one so may not see him in awhile, so another left back is still needed not sure if their is a youngster that can be brought up, should of never sold Warnock heh
  14. I agree, can't see why Voronin has been brought in, doesn't look like he can add anything but depth to Liverpool, from what i have seen. I am still not sure about Reina he is a fantastic shot stopper, but some of his decision making is still a little iffy for me...although that has improved since he first came. They could also do with a good back up keeper and personally another left back, i don't think Aurelio can cut it in a defensive role in the Premiership.
  15. You not a fan of the Carragher/Agger partnership Matt?
  16. I haven't really seen much of Voronin but from watching the World Cup and Leverkusen (sp?) games he seems to be the link type striker that you talk of. I think Tevez would be great for Liverpool just can't see Benitez adding another striker when it would be more benficial to bring in a quality winger....depends how much money he is given to play with and if any of the current strikers go. I like the Bellamy and Kuyt combination with Crouch a bench option.
  17. Do Chelsea or Liverpool really need him? Liverpool have Voronin coming in and Chelsea in my opinion if they keep Crespo have a pretty strong attacking line-up plus i am not sure how Tevez would fit into the way Mourinho has them play seems to like the free role playing with another striker while Chelsea have the 4-3-3 slipping into the 4-5-1. Tottenham i could see...but only if Berbatov goes. With the partnership between him and Keane they should try and hold on to him as much as possible thta could be a high scoring partnership next season. I think if he goes it will be likely out of England, most likely the Spanish league but thats just a guess. I hope he doesn't go, as i really want to see the partnership of him and Ashton. EDIT: Just reply to guy above, if anything its down to Wigan to send West Ham down nto sure if they are away at Sheff Utd or at Home, if they are away i can't see them beating Sheff Utd. Guessing we'll see the lawsuits flood in then.
  18. Anyone think any of the teams coming up from the Championship can pull of a Wigan/Reading esque first season? Although in my eyes Birmingham and Sunderland are Premiership teams just poor uns. I am hoping Keane can continue his success managing and Sunderland keep faith with him, Bruce/Keane/Hughes get Robson and Ince managing in the Premiership and you got half an early nineties Man Utd squad. Don't know if this has been brought up at all, if it has ignore it Anyways, anyone think Tevez will stay at West Ham...they have done well recently and i feel deserve to stay up over Wigan who have been just as bad if not worse contiously. Hopefully they can bring in a striker who can compliment both Zamora, although i like Harewood especially after his performance in the 05/06 FA Cup Final and that season i still prefer Zamora. Almost forgot about Ashton...maybe a real pacey striker...get Sinclair on loan next season. EDIT: Just read Graham Poll is planning on retiring...Mourinho can crack out the champagne.
