  1. Would anyone be down to make a list of their top 10 favorite songs and share it here? I want to discover the lesser known stuff this year. I would follow suit as well.
  2. Reservation Dogs Succession I Think You Should Leave Insecure Drag Race Canada Drag Race UK It's A Sin Only Murders in the Building Survivor
  3. What the Golf is real good everyone.
  4. I would go and see Refused in the tour for The Shape of Punk to Come. Refused as a band was falling apart and the shows around that time are legendary. Daft Punks Alive 2007 shows would have been iconic to see alive.
  5. Pitchfork songs: Pitchfork albums NME Songs Rolling Stone songs Rolling Stone album
  6. I am the opposite. Kacey Musgraves is definitely in the album of the year category for me. Golden Hour was happy and sad at the same time (It was even one of the songs). Kacey Musgraves does sing on Justified "If I cry just a little and laugh in the middle", but there is no happiness on this album. Except on the track There is a Light, which is a banger of a song. But every song is just full of devastating song-writing. She does not sing sad, but every song you know is meant to be about her ex-husband. I think mileage will vary depending on how sad you want to feel listen to a woman tell you about a man who took neglected her, took advantage of her and the failure of relationships. I felt Self Esteem was all very one note for me, but I could listen to the whole album again. It was a good. I am thinking Japanese Breakfast may be my top album of the year. What a fucking amazing album. Be Sweet and Savage Good Boy are just such hard hitting songs. The other albums I am puttering around in my brain is Spirit of the Beehive's Entertainment, Death. It sounds like you did some mushrooms and went to the local fair of the dying town two days over and you felt too stoned. Or Magdalena Bay's Mercurial World, which is outstanding.
  7. I logged on last weekend to play Stanley Parable and I'll get the 5 year achievement on December 21st. December 22nd, 2021 I am going to eat an edible and play Stanley Parable.
  8. I went through a period where I was super obsessed with his whole discography. So good. The Beauty of Breathing is such a banger of a song.
  9. What are y'all Spotify unwrapped summaries like?
  10. The 2011 one. That is the movie everyone loves right? 🤭
  11. I thought that ABBA only had a single out. I did not realize they did a full album. Wow. I may have to subject myself to that one.
  12. The Guardian has released their top 20 singles:
  13. I never saw the Thing before. Wow was that movie great.
  14. RPS over here like "I picked Piplup because it's easy mode".
  15. Imma eat an edible and play it this weekend.
  16. Feel free to post your year end lists, your think pieces about 2021, the lists from notable outlets. I'll post the Metacritic round ups, as well as the notable year end lists from Pitchfork, the Guardian, Rolling Stone, etc. The Grammys were just announced and this was what the Grammy's panel that decided were the best album and songs of the year:
  17. I don't regret it - I have played every Pokemon game. But I feel like I did when I played ORAS. It is nice but unnecessary.
  18. So, me and my daughter watched School of Rock on Friday night. I have been bubbling around two very polarizing thoughts about this movie. Firstly, it was really fun to watch my daughter enjoy the movie. She is wading into more grown up content because she has been stuck watching the same animated movies with her younger siblings. But we have watched Annie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, etc. But School of Rock was interesting, because it was the first time I really saw her enjoying something subversive. She turned to me about 20 minutes into the movie and said about Jack Black's character "I feel like he is the bad guy, but I really like him!" It was really cool to see my daughter realizing that the tropes and ideas that exist in movies and TV can be inverted. Secondly, this movie was actually kind of fucked up to watch. The word gaslighting is overused, but like... that is the entire premise of the movie. Jack Black gaslights everyone so that he can obsess over music. It got kind of icky when he was purposefully romancing the principal with the expressed purpose of taking the kids on a field trip.
  19. No, I don't think so. I have found, especially early on, the Pokedex is really tiny. In Pokemon Sword, there was 500+ Pokemon to catch across the DLC. There were areas with 3-6 or so Pokemon in each area. In this game, early on you can tell that each area only has 2-3 Pokemon in each area. I just beat the first gym and there was not a lot of diversity of Pokemon to catch early on. Also... the Pokedex is heavily relying upon the original 150. I have seen enough Machops and Zubats and Geodudes in my lifetime...
  20. I know I am 11 days late, but I just saw this and my thoughts on it have mild spoilers. I swear I am not spoiling anything about the game, more mechanisms of the game... but...
  21. Binding of Isaac Repentance is the good shit. I am making my way through the new characters. I'll spoiler them in case anyone wants to approach the new content without any spoilers.
  22. Wow. That's... certainly special.
  23. What am I missing? I have never clicked with Snail Mail.
  24. The new Arca songs are really good - Prada/Rakata. The videos are great, but definitely not safe for work.
  25. To build off Bob, it is probably one of the easiest games I have played because it is almost entirely narrative and there is nothing of gameplay that I really remember.
