Given the absolutely insane sequel to Gladiator that Nick Cave wrote, this movie immediately interests me.

Riiiiiight, The Sopranos. Had it not gone up against The Simpsons, I feel like it could have gone to the finals. I'm actually still surprised The Simpsons didn't go all the way.

Yeah, I'm still surprised that both Parks and Rec and The Wire went out when they did. Scrubs could have arguably gone out in the 2nd to 24, but that wasn't so terrible. It was Scrubs beating Louie that had me cursing EWB's name. That's entirely wrong.

Yeah, it's hard to argue with that result. (But I did personally vote the other way on the final. Personal preference, by a slim margin.) I'll reveal the points from the nomination round later. Feel free to discuss the tourney as a whole. What was the most heart-breaking result? What was the toughest match-up? What show got further than it should have? What were you pulling for?

That was surely borne of the writers going "Wait, how could they possibly be having this conversation?" and needing an explanation, but it's a really fun line.

How very dare you. And there's absolutely no reason a comedy can't be more important, significant, or just better than a drama, speaking in a general sense. They're equally viable genres, especially under such broad definitions. Keep the votes coming, folks. You have about 30 hours left.

Honestly, this is half of the final I was expecting. My prediction was Community vs. The Simpsons.

Oh god, yes, that conference. The fact that Robert was just so into it made it that much better.

Community was great, and specifically because it's marching through dark territory. That ending promises that they're not out of the woods yet, either. Troy's breakdown was fucking tremendous. Stacy Keach in a direct Clint Eastwood parody was easily the highlight of 30 Rock. The Office actually got too uncomfortable for me in the first act, but I think it paid off in the third. That said, they're either going to have to permanently soften Nellie's character or get her out of there. She can still stir the shit on a regular basis, but she was straight up meeeeaaan last night (in the first act.) Parks and Rec was good, but I feel like better episodes are ahead, especially with the promise of next week's debate. I expect there will be a curveball, but I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, I may have to do that.

I need to find a new way to watch.

Man, Raw has wrecked my ability to keep up with this. Anyone good still in it? What about that girl that did a kickin' Stevie Wonder cover or the former meth head on Cee-Lo's team?
