  1. I may have got these song titles wrong, but I like 'Love?' and 'Devour'. Both worth checking out.
  2. Agreed, even though The Importance of Being Idol was the best thing they've done for many years, Oasis' new album was all kinds of shite. McFly are a nice little throwback to the 60's, they're not what I'd call good, but they're not bad in my books either. Wouldn't mind to see Gorillaz win, I preffered Dare, as it really had a dancey beat, but Feel Good was good too. BEP are shite. I respect Lemar somewhat. He (along with Will Young) has actually been able to break out of the pop idol stereotype and made himself somewhat legit. Gwen Stefani... Still on the fence about her. Although I liked most of No Doubt's stuff, I've not really got into her solo stuff yet. Powter, Westlife, Clarkson & Blunt can all go to hell. Cunts. Melua... I don't like her new album, her debut wasn't too bad though. So yeah, Gorillaz or McFly, preferably Gorillaz.
  3. To clarify: Best Newcomer = Best act that has broken through this year, and as such is a newcomer to the mainstream/semi-mainstream.
  4. Oasis are exactly where they belong: Not on the list. I hope McFly win.
  5. How could I forget PiL? Definately. And of course, with thought, I have remembered the other I want to reform. Smashing Pumpkins babybee.
  6. Decided to let non-completion of entire categories - for example, not doing the 'Film' category - slide, as I can't really do film either >_<. Just vote in anything you want. Anything's better than nothing. Oh, and to clarify, I assumed that people gathered that Computer Games encompassed Console Gaming too. Sorry. 7. Done and done....although I'm not sure what you mean by 'Why just Computer Games?'. Why not Board/Card Games, do you mean? I just figured that there wasn't a big enough following...
  8. Firstly, I'm sorry if someone else had already planned to do this, but I'm bored, and wanted to do something to this effect anyway. Secondly, please vote in all categories. If you miss out one or two, not so bad, but most will affect things, I think. All votes should be relative to the last year - for example, don't choose 'Permission To Land' as best album, as it wasn't released this year. The only categories this doesn't apply to are the Hall Of Fame ones. Thirdly...get voting Music Best Band: Best Solo Artist: Best Album: Best Single: Best Live Act: Best Newcomer: Worst Band: Worst Single: Next Big Thing: Hall of Fame Entrant: Film Best Overall Film: Best Horror/Thriller Film: Best Comedy: Best Drama: Best Non-Fiction/Fact Based Film: Best Actor: Best Actress: Best Plot Line (Regardless of film quality): Best Director: Worst Film: Most Anticipated Release: Best Soundtrack: Hall Of Fame Entrant (Actor, Actress or Director): Television Best Comedy Show: Best Drama: Best Sitcom: Best Storyline: Best Channel: Best Reality Show: Best Quiz/Gameshow: Worst Show: Games Best Game: Worst Game: Best Game Character: Best System: Most Anticipated Release: Best Soundtrack: Best Developer: Sports Best Team: Best Sportsperson: Best Sporting Event: Best/Favourite Match: Most Overrated: Hall Of Fame: Alright, so, get voting. I'll put my personal votes up later. I hope I haven't missed anything out, and if there are any glaring category omissions, try and let me know ASAP, so it's not too late. Again, sorry if someone had already planned to do this. Maybe, if an Entertainment Mod reads, it could get pinned? Anyway, results will be put up Late December/Early January.
  9. So you don't really support anyone? You just cheer for whichever team you're watching/have a season ticket for?
  10. The Darkness Slayer Pantera Deftones lostprophets A Perfect Circle (Only some of their tracks though, The Hollow for example, IIRC) Shadows Fall Lamb Of God Arch Enemy Devildriver Strapping Young Lad Bleeding Through Ministry

    The NME

I hate NME. The only copy I ever brought with my own money was the John Peel one. I buy Kerrang! occasionally, but I find that they are also fond of the commercial cock. Q is OK sometimes, but others it really sucks. So the only magazines I buy/like are Metal Hammer (although the Valo obsession sucks) and Zero.
  13. Couldn't possibly begin to put them in any kind of order. The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute Antony & The Johnsons - I Am A Bird Now Coheed & Cambria - Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Saul Williams - Saul Williams System Of A Down - Hypnotize System Of A Down - Mesmerize Sufjan Stevens - Illinois Simply Red - Simplified Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger (Can't believe no-one's mentioned this one) LCD Soundsystem - LCD Soundsystem Jimmy Eat World - Stay On My Side Tonight (Only an EP, but it's awesome.) Death From Above 1979 - Romance Bloody Romance Foo Fighters - In Your Honour Jamiroquai - Dynamite Although Illinois, Frances The Mute, Good Apollo, Disintegration, Saul Williams and A Certain Trigger are my pick of the crop.
  14. The Darkness, Sigur Ros, Saul Williams, At The Drive-In, Deftones, Tool, Pearl Jam, lostprophets, Sufjan Stevens and Simply Red.
  15. My Myspace Thingy Don't go there if a) Your computer sucks or b) You hate music (just music, no video) on profiles. You won't like it.
  16. Goddamn it. Are they playing anywhere near here (Birmingham)? Newcastle's just a little too far.

    Ace of Base

All that she wants is another baby, she's gone tomorrow, cause all that she wants is another baby, a-yeah-heh! In summary: Ace of Base are good.
  18. It's a great album. Far superior, in my mind, to Mesmerize. Just has better songs, better instrumentation, better ideas and is heavier, in my opinion. I think She's Like Heroin is possibly the my favourite song they've ever done. It's just awesome.
  19. The Polyphonic Spree, Antony And The Johnsons and some Sufjan Stevens stuff. All worth checking out.
  20. Sounds like a good show. Must look out for them next time they're over here. Like what I've heard, so could be good - well, should be, judging by the review.
  21. That's actually the best Top [insert Number] Albums List I've seen in a long time. Few glaring errors, in my opinion, but otherwise it's sound. The Bends is the best Radiohead album, and so should be higher. FTM > DITC, although I can see why DITC is so much higher, due to its accessibility. Numbers 9,8,7,6 should swap with 5,4,3,2 (Y). And although I disagree with Nevermind being top of the list, I can see why. It's just not my personal choice, and I disagree with it heavily, in that I find it's actually an over-rated album, but each to their own.
