  1. This is absolutely the right call, some of those statues in the Hall Of Fame are a very advanced age and the risk of COVID is just too great.
  2. I spent way too much time plugging in the Art Ross numbers. He was never really super close to the Art Ross pace. Datsyuk actually has a few years where his pace is not way off: that 15/15 season where Benn won the Art Ross, Datsyuk was not far behind pace wise.
  3. Pretty much everything you said, yes. My initial reaction when I saw the controversy was to immediately lol, Toronto but Datty had a much shorter career than I remember. But in terms of what he did IMO that means more, not less. Sure, give Sunny points for longevity but the only solo award he won was the joe jackoff leadership award? IMO as complete players they aren't even close to comparable, and even on pure scoring, when you look at when they played, I still give the edge to Datsyuk. He had amazing skills and hands. Sundin had his skills too but IMO he benefited a lot from when he played. Datsyuk played in an era where actual athletes played in net.

TSN has been ranking the best player ever to wear each jersey number. So far most of them have been not controversial but this one ignited a bit of a debate. So from looking at these charts, which of the two players do you think is the better of the two?
  5. Maybe make it so that as long as your starter is in, you have a DH. And then make it so if a DH bats that inning, your starter has to throw at least a pitch to open the next inning.
  6. I feel like there is a compromise in terms of the DH. Have a DH for X innings. That way you have an extra roster spot but you can still have the late game strategy (which I admit I enjoy).
  7. Universal DH is more jobs, which the union loves. Pitchers hitting is the way it used to be, which is why old people love it. Get off his lawn.
  8. Holy shit you're still alive.

  9. It is sad that sexual abuse in hockey is nothing new, hopefully though this is the end of it.

  11. Shouldn't be too difficult to do on a short term basis. Probably not practical for a full 80+ game season, but might be doable for, say, a 50 game season or so?
  12. I figured since this is such an unusual scenario, I'd just run everything myself with google docs.
  13. Shulman goes in depth into some of the numbers which really makes this thing absurd.
  14. I was thinking 1. In our initial draft, having a maximum amount of players you could pick from one team, to prevent, say, me from loading up on Canucks since they are obviously going all the way 2. After each round, teams could drop eliminated players and replace them. It would be a waiver system, so the team who was in last after round one could replace first, etc etc. 3. When we get to the Stanley Cup Finals, we do medal playoffs: Team 1 vs 2 for the gold, 3 v 4 for the bronze, 5 v 6 for a chicken dinner.
  15. So we talked about this in September but it never got off the ground. Which is okay because the season ended up not finishing properly. Anyone feel like doing a small fantasy puck thing for the playoffs? I was thinking 8 or so of us, quick draft. We have until July 10th when training camps open. If not done drafting probably have, what, another ten days after that. Want do? In: Sean Ruki Crab Baseballhead
  16. One of the few downsides of the entire world shutting down, getting that kind of casual chat access to interesting and pleasant people.
  17. If anyone hasn't seen 8:46 by Dave Chappelle, it's absolutely worth a watch.

  18. Unfortunately with baseball unlikely to return the commentators have become degenerate roulette gamblers.
  19. There's a guy on Reddit doing recolors. Some of them are as good as they are WTFy.
  20. Sounds like this is the end product for what Combat Zone Wrestling is becoming.
