  1. But that's the thing; the contract is not done. It expires in 2012.
  2. You're right, not the best example but the first one that came to mind. But at least he's still there despite all the setbacks Liverpool have suffered. Meanwhile Rooney's ready to abandon ship before the first real blow has landed, should there even be one.
  3. Saw that earlier and my respect for Holloway grew even more. A great, great man. And Rooney can now officially go fuck himself. After Fergie's press confrence I wasn't too sure what to think, but after reading what Rooney said yesterday I hope we could offload him right now. It's total and utter bullshit that we can't "match his ambitions" anymore. We've still got the team that was one point away from winning the league last season, we've got a couple of new up-and-comers in the squad and we'll continue to attract top talent. Sure, we can't compete with the likes of Mansour and Abramovich in terms of weekly salaries, but being the biggest and most recognizable club in England there will always be great players that want to play here. So instead of waiting for us to "match his ambitions", why wouldn't he lift his fat arse up and do something to help us then? He's done fuck all since his injury in Munich and yet he's the one complaining? And not only that, he insulted all his teammates by basically saying they're not good enough for his goddamn standards. Sure, everyone wants to win titles, yeah, we all know that - so fucking perform on the pitch so we can continue to win them. It's not your job to worry whether we've got enough superstars on the squad, it's your job to play and prove you are one. And if he's worried about the financial situation, and how that will affect our ability to bring in new talent, well fuck that. I bet he knew damn well what the financial situation was back in March when he said he's ready to sign a lifetime contract. The debts didn't pile up after that, that's for sure. I mean, look at Fernando Torres. He's at Liverpool, a club currently playing in the Europa League, a club that has no chance of winning the Premier League. And a couple of weeks back they still had owners that were pretty much ruining the club from within. Yet you don't see him whine and bitch about it. Sure, he's not been good this season and one of the reasons surely must be his lack of motivation, but remember; there's no one delivering the ball to him. As a striker it's pretty hard to acchieve anything when you can count the times you've got the ball during the match with one hand. And yet he still does something good - or at least tries to - when he gets the ball, for example, the penalty and the free kick he won against United which resulted in Liverpool's goals. So he still puts in some effort, and did so last season when Liverpool's ship was starting to sink - you certainly didn't hear about him wanting to leave in October, did you? No, you did not. Instead you saw him score 18 goals in the league. I could've understood him wanting to leave in the summer when the Champions League was out of the picture and so on, but no, he stays, even though he probably could've been snatched up by a dozen of teams that play in the CL (and have a better chance of winning domestic trophies). And then there's Wayne Rooney, the man who thinks he's bigger than the rest of the team. The main man, the big fucking star who can't be bothered to be a team player in the club that made him what he is today. Or is it just the money? 'Cause surely about £100,000 a week is not enough for him, oh no. He needs more and I bet there's more waiting for him on the other side of Manchester. Well off you go then 'cause I couldn't give two shits about you anymore.
  4. "Coleen forgave you, we won't" was one that caught me eye.
  5. NAAAAANIIIII! Now go fucking rampant, boys, we need it.
  6. Yup. Seeing how City are obsessed with us, they'd pay £60 million for Djemba-Djemba if it would piss us off, let alone for Rooney.
  7. So, Rooney has confirmed he wants to leave: "I met with David Gill last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad," Now I wish he had really fallen out with Ferguson rather than this being the reason. It's worrying 'cause what this means is that we don't have the money to bring in any top talent.
  8. Just read bits of the interview from manutd.com. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Ronaldo was always going to leave anyways, I'd been expecting it since the summer of 2006 so when he left last year it wasn't too much of a shock. But this? Where the fuck did this come from, really? Rooney's been the biggest Old Trafford favourite I've had since Ruud's departure to Real, and now this happens out of the blue? Jesus. I was supposed to go to Old Trafford this season for the first time in my life, hoping that I'd get the chance to see Fergie, Giggs, Scholes and perhaps even Neville while they're still there - never thought I'd have to add Rooney to the mix. There goes the dream of chanting his name with 70,000+ other fans. I can't say "fuck him" just yet, not before it's clear where he'll go once he leaves us. If it's City, then I swear to god, I'll go burn his fucking shirt in front of the City Of Abu Dhabi stadium.
  9. Jesus, this is getting more ridiculous by the minute. ... I just hope it doesn't end up the way it did with Becks, Ruud, Keano, etc. (N)
  10. Fuck. Would've been a perfect day had Blackpool held on to a draw for a bit more than a minute. Oh well, the weekend didn't turn out that bad after all despite United's fuck up. Chelsea drawing against Villa keeps our hopes up. Everton winning the derby was fantastic. It sucks, though, that City got three points clear, if only for the fact that I have to listen to my friend (who became a 'fan' after the financial injection) gloat about it 'til the roles are reversed again. How I wish one of my friends supported Liverpool right now.
  11. Damn this match is fantastic. A true derby if I've ever seen one. ... well maybe not the greatest match in terms of competitiviness, but Goodison is rocking and Everton are pretty much dominating. I love it.
  12. This season's becoming increasingly painful to watch. Not only do we lose points all the time, but we do it in games we've controlled throughout. Three minutes before the final whistle at Goodison Park I was thinking 'now this was a great performance', and at half-time today I thought that the second half will turn into a good ol' trashing. I really can't see what's happened during the summer, 'cause even though we did have some minor defensive issues last season (like all teams do at some point), it's nothing compared to what's been happening in the back four this season. I mean, we've got Rafael (who's been developing over the last couple of years), Ferdinand and Vidic (who were the best CB pairing in the world two years ago), and Evra (who's always been solid)... what could've possibly turned them into this horrorshow of a defensive line? It's a big pity 'cause with Nani and Berbatov in top form, Chicharito showing signs of real promise, and Scholes and Giggs kicking the season off with great performances we could easily sail through these matches - just like we've been doing before those lousy fuck ups in defense. Last season we couldn't put up a good performance without Rooney and still took it to the final day, now we don't even need him in the starting line-up to produce quality in the front. If only the back four were as solid as before, we'd have a fantastic chance to win the title race; now it's more likely we'll fight to keep our top four spot. :/
  13. What the fuck happened there? Fucking useless cunts should go die in a fire. Gongrats on retaining, Chelsea.
  14. Well, this should be interesting. No Rooney (might be a good thing, though), no Chicharito, a five-man defensive line and Berba up front on his own. Looks like we'll continue where we left off at Goodison last season.
  15. Yeah. At FC Lahti, a pretty small Finnish club, and he's still a regular in the national team. It's pathetic that he's still one of our best players, he's got great vision but his condition is so poor nowadays he can't play more than 45-55 minutes per match. I wonder what'll happen when Litmanen and Hyypiä both retire, they're the backbone of our squad. Jääskeläinen retiring from internationals was bad enough already. :/ We need a new generation of talent. Let's hope Dalla Valle makes a big mistake and chooses to represent Finland over Italy.
  16. Yeah, was watching the game at a bar with a friend. These kinda results shouldn't come as a surprise anymore, though, after the loss to Azerbaijan etc. a couple years back. As a huge football fan it'd be nice to, you know, actually live in a country where there's more than a dozen people who can kick a ball the proper way. And where you're not still relying on a fucking 70-year-old hasbeen (Litmanen).

    Leeds/Reading 2010

Been watching footage of The Libertines' Reading gig from YouTube all day long and I'm one fucking jealous man to everyone who was there. Seeing Barat and Doherty on stage together is amazing, hearing the songs again, the chemistry on stage, everything... plus you gotta love Gary Powell's intensity on the drums. Jesus, I feel like a little fan girl but fuck it, I can't help it. I have to come to England to see them live before it falls apart again.
  18. Nice free kick and overall a fun game to watch. Jässi's bitch slap was hilarious. Also, Berbatov scoring yesterday for United was great. He should have the confidence now that he's got three in four games. Let's hope he'll keep 'em coming so we don't have to rely so much on Rooney alone.
  19. Yeah, Chelsea's form is frightening. It's depressing when United go and beat someone two, three, even four-nil and you're all 'WE'RE ON FIRE, BABY!'... Then you check out BBC's football page and see Chelsea have just scored twice as many goals.
  20. Not a bad group for United, can't tell if Valencia will be a big test or not without Villa and Silva. Group G is amazing and could produce fabulous matches, can't wait for that.
  21. Well fuck, still no United/Real. Ronaldo's OT return would've been a moment to remember. Please please please give us Barca/Spurs. Just so we can see who's really raping who.
  22. There's a chance, sure, of Spurs beating Barca at the Lane or anywhere else, there always is, and I'd actually love it if they'd do well in the CL. But people saying how Barca would be in trouble if Spurs attacked them, Lennon and Bale 'raping' Alves and whatnot just threw me off 'cause it sounds like exaggerating the threat Spurs actually pose against Europe's big clubs. They're no pushovers, that's for sure, but I'd wait until at least their first actual match in the Champions League before even wondering how they'd cope against a team like Barcelona. Hell, back when we played them in 2008 (and 2007) even I wasn't too sure Barca would be in a world of trouble if we'd attack them, and that's back when we had Cristiano Ronaldo for christ's sake.
