  1. I disagree. 3rd ranked offense in the NFL, 5 straight wins, and a defense that isn't letting teams score. I'm an Eagles fan, definitely, so I'm a bit biased, but this team has been among the best in the NFL over the past month and a half. When all of the power rankings come out this week, most will probably rank them in the top 8, I would guess, depending on what happens tonight/tomorrow. Either way, I'm having fun this season, so if I'm being a little bit delusional, don't mind me.
  2. No. Denver, KC, New England, New Orleans, Carolina, Seattle, San Francisco. In no particular order. They won today in a freaky snowstorm and actually had the momentum shifted their way when they failed to get a two-point conversion, but Detroit was called on a penalty that didn't actually happen. I don't think Detroit is all that impressive, but winning in conditions like this doesn't prove a whole lot. They also fought back from down 14 in those shitty conditions. The penalty wasn't a great call, but Detroit let the Eagles run for over 200 yards in the fourth quarter. Bigger picture, they haven't allowed more than 20 points since a bad loss to the Broncos in week 4 (longest active streak of 20 points or less), and have a top 3 offense in the league. There's an argument that they're a top 5 team. I forgot about the Patriots, but I think when it comes to Carolina or SF, it could go either way. New Orleans is better, unless they're playing in weather. Not saying it's indisputable, but you could argue the Eagles are a top 5 team in the league and not sound like a complete crazy person. 7-1 when Foles plays the majority of the snaps.
  3. Sorry for the double post, but it's snowing a lot worse here than it was down there - we got like 10 inches, pretty much all of it during the game. We were only supposed to get flurries starting at 3, so I assume they were a little bit unprepared.
  4. Well, the 1:00 games were the craziest set of early games that I ever remember watching. Eagles have to be a top 5 team in the league now, right? The defense is legit, Shady's the best running back in the NFL, and even when Foles plays bad (because of the weather), he's still pretty good. Off the top of my head, I still say Seattle, Denver, and Carolina are probably better, but it wouldn't be a stretch to rank them right alongside KC or the Saints.
  5. Quick couple questions. I have this on PS3. I rarely get anything from the PS Store (in fact, I think the last hting I got was WWE 13 Axxess pass). Where do I go to redeem my Ultimate Warrior code? Also, is there a way in Universe Mode to get the ECW logo to show up on the calendar?
  6. fucking FOLES and yeah, they took him out with so he wouldn't get hurt
  7. Don't forget Psycho Sid, with the "P." Also, spoilered for length, here are all of the attires available with the roster: Whoever wrote this said Cena has an "HLA" shirt...probably meant "HLR," but I thought it was funny so I didn't change it. Also, between Cena and Hogan there are 21 different attires...good lord.
  8. I saw that too.. I was thinking maybe there's some sort of contractual issue? Do WWE own the rights to their names, and maybe couldn't get them for whatever reason? Even that seems weird though, seeing as Sid was on WWE TV last year beating up Heath Slater, you'd think they'd include his name in the video game at the very least.
  9. Man, I love the Eagles, but that game yesterday was BRUTAL. Like, physically hard to watch. The finish to Detroit/Dallas, though, was incredible. Apparently Stafford made the call to jump over the pile right before he got the snap. Unreal finish.
  10. Schefter sneaking that all day into the tweet struck me as kind of funny "more to comes on ESPN all day...like really...ALL FUCKING DAY"
  11. Dani California from the Red Hot Chili Peppers sounds very similar to Last Dance with Mary Jane
  12. DLC Packs seem pretty good...I'll be getting this either way, but I'm pretty excited for the nWo pack and for Jake the Snake.
  13. Gus Bradley's pregame speech: "Alright guys, I threw down a TON of money on this game...I'm gonna need you to actually take the field today. Please. My family will be homeless if we don't cover."* *pregame speech completely made up by me, right now.
  14. Eagles come away with another win....not too crazy to imagine them winning the NFC East, with a pretty light stretch of games coming up Also, how the fuck does 4th and 48 happen?
  15. Might have a hard time with this one myself, but I'll give it a whirl 1) Mitch Hedberg 2) George Carlin 3) Richard Pryor 4) Chris Rock 6) Daniel Tosh (Dude's stand-up is very funny) 7) Jon LaJoie (Taco from The League) 8) Bob Saget 9) I dunno, Louis CK? 10) Eddie Murphy
  16. Well like I said, no one expected Bob to win the Vezina, but he played well - very similar numbers to Bryz - that first year. Then they traded him, rather than admitting to the Bryz mistake that was clear pretty early on (or keeping him around as insurance). I get that you want to get what you can for a guy, rather than sending him off to FA, but when you have a young, skilled, developing goalie, you don't just trade him away. If they kept his cheap contract through last year, he's our unquestioned starter right now. Here are the full transcripts from today's media, via Crossing Broad. Shows how out of touch Ed Snider and Paul Holmgren really are. http://www.crossingbroad.com/2013/10/here-are-full-transcripts-from-today.html#more-10509 And to illustrate my point, there's a specific point in that media availability where Ed Snider literally says he wishes he could just fire all of the players instead. Absurdity.
  17. Woops, meant to say Jerry Jones The Flyers definitely aren't playing well, granted. Over the long term, though, Holmgren's recent reign as GM has been a mess. Traded our two top forwards to, necessarily, clear space to sign a franchise goaltender (a "win-now" type move, which obviously didn't work). In trading those top two forwards away, though, he basically was blowing up the core and getting younger. This is a "win-later" move. The moves that they made - just after making it to game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals - didn't mesh. On top of that, he traded away Bobrovsky - who started games for the Flyers due to Bryzgalov's ineffective, inconsistent play - who went on to win a Vezina in Columbus, and unseat our current starter, Steve Mason, who we traded for afterwards. He would not have won the Vezina behind our defense, but he would be better than the Mason/Emery timeshare we have now. That, combined with a few huge free agent whiffs over the last two offseasons (Weber, Suter, Parise), is a rough go for Holmgren. They have a lot of good prospects in the Phantoms right now. They'd be wise to hand the keys to Hextall and see if he can't turn this ship around. The Flyers are a mess.
  18. Makes no sense. I like Lavy a lot, he fit into Philly pretty well too, from a fan's standpoint, but if you're going to fire him this early, there's no point in waiting. Flyers owner Ed Snider got really snippy with the media in the press conference, too. He's the NHL's answer to Ed Snider.
  19. Flyers have already fired Peter Laviolette. Replaced with Craig Berube, who will also have Ian Lapperriere on his staff. Should've been Paul Holmgren instead, but that will only be a matter of time with Hextall working as AGM
  20. I'm sure there will be plenty of awesome CAWs to get online of the guys that aren't in, as well as their movesets, entrance moves, etc. It's not hard to just go in and download them at this point.
  21. Insane stuff. A player literally in his prime, just what, 2? 3? years into a 15 year contract, and he's just gone. If he would've waited a few more years, they would've had to eat $3.6 against the cap for a bunch of years, so he's saving them some trouble there. Still though, what a kick in the balls for the Devils.
  22. Well there were rumors the other day about Phaneuf being moved as well. Don't know if that would have any bearing on getting Letang or not, but the rumors were out there. And in regards to Jagr playing in the KHL, he's already said that he wants to stay in the NHL next year. https://twitter.com/NHLBruins/status/349923247984361472
  23. I don't know how Calgary's cap situation is, but would exploring Miller or Luongo via trade be a viable option for a year or two? I know those names have gotten thrown around in regards to the Flyers, but couldn't see them breaking the bank for a goalie this year. Nabokov and Emery seem to be the leading candidates to compete with Mason, per Darren Dreger.
  24. That is just crazy. Didn't they trade Richards and Carter to make way for Bryz? I wonder if they're regretting that now. And their starting goalie is Steve Mason! I think the Leafs can send Reimer their way for both Schenn's. Yes, they're regretting it. Yes, they got rid of Richards and Carter (more or less - there was other rumors too), to make room for Bryz. Yes, they traded Bobrovsky to the Blue Jackets, then traded for his backup, who is now the starter. Insanity. And it's 14 years because of an option with the compliance buyouts. Basically, instead of paying him $23 million (2/3 of his remaining contract) over 7 years (remainder of the deal), they can pay it over 14. Bryz' contract will pay him roughly $136,666.67 a month until 2027. Atrocious. Fire Holmgren. Speaking of the Flyers, the Bobby Ryan rumor heating up around town today is Ryan for Coburn and our 1st rounder. WE DON"T NEED NO DEFENSE!~
