    Thunderstorm fried the HDMI ports on my PS3 and two DirecTV receivers. :(

      I have surge protectors on everything. Somehow the shit still nuked my HDMI ports. How was I supposed to know those things are so sensitive? Also got the network adapter on my computer, but I have a wireless USB adapter.

      When you talk about the sheer energy released by a bolt of lightning (insert BTTF Joke), there is no way other than unplugging to prevent stuff from getting cooked. Your best overall bet, at least for future reference, would be to have a UPS for the lightning to fry first. Hopefully it'll take most of the blow.
