  1. In Madden 2004, I started a Cardinals franchise, and traded Adrian Wilson, and a first round pick for Clinton Portis. Not really memorable because it wasn't a realistic move, but what made it memorable is what happened afterwards. On his first carry of the first preseason game Clinton Portis suffered a career ending injury. I guess it served me right. (I think I also told this story on EWB before ) Still my most memorable Madden experience.
  2. I wouldn't feel too bad about Rockstar in this case. A major part of their purpose with creating a game like Manhunt is to create controversy and try to push the envelope and see how much they can get away with. Without controversy it's tough to get your game in the news media, but you can bet you'll be hearing so much about Manhunt that it will sell well even to those who don't follow the game industry very closely.
  3. My guess is that the Raiders aren't trying to sign their first pick before the draft (ala Houston last year) for one of two reasons: 1.) They haven't fully made up their minds on who to pick 2.) They are still entertaining trade offers and the like. I can't see many teams trading all the way up to #1, so I'd guess it's the first option. Or maybe they just like keeping me in suspense...who knows What I've heard is that if the Raiders draft Russell, The Lions will draft Calvin Johnson. They might trade him, or they might keep him, but that's what I've heard. Either way, it looks to be an interesting draft.
  4. Well..apparently they've decided to go the legends route, and although I don't think they've officially announced a list, there's a bunch of playernames on a little interactive thingy on their website (basically like scrolling through a wall with names on it) including the following players: Troy Aikman QB Marcus Allen HB Dick Anderson SS John Anderson OLB Ottis Anderson HB Jim Bakken K Carl Banks OLB Lem Barney CB Steve Bartkowski QB Sammy Baugh QB Chuck Bednarik OLB Greg Bell HB Raymond Berry WR Elvin Bethea DE Eric Bieniemy HB Fred Biletnikoff WR Tony Boselli T Brian Bosworth OLB Cliff Branch WR Robert Brazile OLB Bubby Brister QB John Brodie QB Tom Brookshier CB Bob Brown T Jerome Brown DT Roosevelt Brown T D|ck Butkus ILB Willie Brown CB Joey Browner SS Ronnie Bull HB Nick Buoniconti ILB Leroy Butler FS Dave Butz DT Earl Campbell HB Tony Canadeo HB Mark Carrier WR Harry Carson ILB Anthony Carter WR Dave Casper TE Deron Cherry FS Todd Christensen TE Dwight Clark WR Gary Clark WR Ben Coates TE Reggie Cobb HB Roger Craig HB Lou Creekmur T Nolan Cromwell FS Randy Cross G Bill Curry C Dermontti Dawson C Len Dawson QB Al Del Greco K Joe Delamielleure T Lynn D|ckey QB Mike Ditka TE Chris Doleman DE Art Donovan DT Troy Drayton TE Billy Joe Dupree TE Henry Ellard WR John Elway QB Chuck Foreman HB Barry Foster HB Bill Fralic G Irving Fryar WR Willie Gault WR Ernest Givins WR Mike Golic DT Otto Graham QB Eric Green TE Russ Grimm G Steve Grogan QB Lou Groza K Ray Guy P Dan Hampton DT Alvin Harper WR Cliff Harris FS Jim Hart QB Lester Hayes CB Abner Haynes HB Mike Haynes CB Bobby Hebert QB Dalton Hilliard HB Merril Hoge FB Paul Hornung HB Jeff Hostetler QB Raghib Ismail WR Keith Jackson TE Joe Jacoby T Jeff Jaeger K John Jefferson WR Pepper Johnson ILB Daryl Johnston FB Brent Jones TE Brian Jones ILB Deacon Jones DE Rulon Jones DE Stan Jones G Too Tall Jones DE Leroy Kelly HB Bernie Kosar QB Greg Kragen DT Tommy Kramer QB Dave Krieg QB Jim Lachey T Greg Landry QB Night Train Lane CB Jim Langer G Lamar Lathon OLB Dante Lavelli WR Leon Lett DT Albert Lewis CB Bob Lilly DT Floyd Little HB Larry Little G Greg Lloyd OLB James Lofton WR Ronnie Lott FS Marty Lyons DT Tom Mack G John Mackey TE Dexter Manley DE Archie Manning QB Gino Marchetti DE Fred Marion SS Jim Marshall DE Dan Marino QB Leonard Marshall DE Eric Martin WR Harvey Martin DE Tony Martin WR Don Maynard WR George Mcafee SS Randall Mcdaniel G Terry McDaniel CB Hugh McElhenny HB Guy Mcintyre G Freeman McNeil HB Natrone Means HB Karl Mecklenburg OLB Dave Meggett HB Pete Metzelaars TE Keith Millard DT Bobby Mitchell WR Ron Mix T Joe Montana QB Herman Moore WR Lenny Moore HB Rob Moore WR Mike Munchak T Chuck Muncie HB Anthony Munoz T Eddie Murray K Tony Nathan HB Chuck Noll ILB Ken Norton Jr OLB Jay Novacek TE Ken O'Brien QB Neil O'Donnell QB John Offerdahl ILB Christian Okoye HB Leslie O'Neal DE Jim Otto C Bubba Paris T Jim Parker T Bryce Paup OLB Walter Payton HB Drew Pearson WR Joe Perry HB William Perry DT Pete Pihos WR Gary Plummer ILB Tom Rathman FB Andre Reed WR Mel Renfro CB Jerry Rice WR Eugene Robinson FS Mike Rozier HB Mark Rypien QB Dan Saleaumua DT Barry Sanders HB Ricky Sanders WR Jesse Sapolu G Gale Sayers HB Joe Schmidt ILB Lee Roy Selmon DE Clyde Simmons DE O.J. Although I would assume there's an option to put them on random teams and save to memory card for quick exhibition play. Who knows though.
  5. Yeah, I think I need to play a European nation. My attempts to save the Aztecs from new world conquest, have...well not really failed, but I think I started too far back in the time period, and it's been pretty boring so far. Maybe I'll start with a european nation next time
  6. I actually called it a few weeks ago that Vince Young would be the cover athlete. Looking back at the previous Madden's I noticed a pattern. Let's look. Before 2001, it was always just John Madden on the cover. 2001 Eddie George 2002 Daunte Culpepper 2003 Marshall Faulk 2004 Michael Vick 2005 Ray Lewis 2006 Donovan McNabb 2007 Shaun Alexander What do the even years, (2002,2004,2006) have in common? Not only are they always quarterbacks, but they're always African-American QBs who many feel are potential playmakers. Also nobody has ever been on the cover twice. Thus, the only choice that would continue the pattern was Vince Young. 2009, a running back (maybe LT) is a safe bet, though they could mix it up and throw in a defensive player, but in 2010, I all but guarantee it will be a quarterback.
  7. Haha I commented on myself! That's....sad :(

  8. The idea of High Definition Porn makes me think..... I dunno about you guys, but I'm not sure I want to see it any clearer. See all the little hairs and pours and whatnot? nah
  9. Ah, yes, you're right. I forgot I had rented both 5XL and 5 at the same time. There's one that's also recommended for getting 1,000 KOs without DW5 but I can't do it myself. It's the one (and I can't remember the name) that has Zhao Yun single-handedly defending a bridge against overwhelming Cao Cao forces while the old guy Tiger General (who's name escapes me atm) sneaks up on Cao Cao's camp or something.
  10. Playing MGS3:Substinence (because of the rotatable camera) last night made me late for work. I dunno if that was the best moment, but it sure was a different moment First time I beat it was last night and because I wanted to save at the end and you can't skip the cut scenes (and I also wanted to see them) I was late for work It's sad. But I'd have to say one of my favorite recent moments was playing Smackdown vs Raw, the original one, and beating Randy Orton in the elimination chamber; not because I beat him, but because right after I did, he somehow got up, and RKO'd me before disappearing from the chamber, causing me to lose the match. I dunno, for some reason that amused me.
  11. Chargers fired Shottenheimer. I figure that's a bit silly since the team did have a good year. Apparently the attitude nowadays is superbowl within a certain number of years or bust.
  12. Listening to all the hype and most of the experts pick Indianapolis, I thought: "Have they forgotten that defense wins championships?" Well tonight I realized the hole in that theory. The defense actually has to show up to play, in order to win a championship. Also your offense has to do enough to keep them off the field for a few plays.
  13. Might be time to open up the offense, and let Grossman wing a couple downfield (if he can get time) because the game is practically over anyways. Nothing else seems to be working
