  1. It's just my opinion but I don't think Darko will ever play a meaningful minute for the Detroit Pistons. If they felt so good about him, why sign Antonio McDyess. It makes no sense. Have your insurance policy for a 19 year old #2 overall pick be a 30 year old washed up by knee injuries former #2 pick? I just think Larry Brown doesn't like being told who to play and he is going to let Darko's Serbian ass rot on the bench until his contract runs out. He is obviously not as ready as everyone thought he was but seriously, how is he going to get better and have any confidence at all when he rides the bench, gets DNP-coaches decision in over half the games and loses minutes to people on 10-day contracts and undrafted people. Ship him out of town and get what you can and just pray that it doesn't bite you in the ass in the future.
  2. I watched the Comedy Central special and thought it was pretty funny, than I watched the show "Distraction" the day after and he busted out some of the same jokes. I hope the entire series is not just breaking up his routine into little parts.
  3. OK this whole Carlos Delgado "courtship" has dragged on too long... I personally think he is going to the Mets but it seems that the Marlins and Rangers are also pretty strong players in the Delgado chase. Where does anyone think he will end up?
  4. The thing with LeBron is I think a lot of times he tries to rack up assists for no reason when he can just take his man to the hole each and every time down the floor. He concentrates too much on having the well-rounded stats and he could be smoking a guy all night (for example Derek Anderson and Al Harrington) but he will then start trying to make useless passes just to get assists. LeBron is a very good player (I leave the word great for legends) but I think he gets too caught up in his stats sometimes and it jeopardizes the team. Not as much this season than as a rookie last season but it still creeps up every once in a while and it is something he needs to shy away from doing and just let the game flow for him. Honestly I believe if he stopped the whole wanna-be point guard thing he could be averaging close to 30 per game. Instead he gets stuck with a lot of 17-22 games (which is very good don't get me wrong) because he starts trying to make the extra pass when it is unnecessary. And with the whole Darko thing, he needs to get out of Detroit ASAP. Larry Brown is never going to play him, he has only 110 minutes on the season. LeBron James had that after 3 games. Not saying they are the same players by a long shot but a Top 3 pick should at least be starting by now. He has a terrible shooting percentage (24%) but that is mostly due to the fact that in his 5-6 minutes per game (if that) he only gets one shot, its usually a bad one and he usually clanks it. I think he could be of use somewhere else and not consistently losing minutes to Darvin Ham, Ronald Dupree, and Horace Jenkins.
  5. Baron Davis is only around long enough to beat the Knicks and then he gets hurt again... It's a fucking conspiracy I tell you. Also the Atlantic Division is the worst in all of professional sports. A team is going to get a #3 seed in the playoffs with a record under .500. Mark my words. What can I say about the rest of the league though. It's all playing out pretty well. I think Phoenix will be OK with Barbosa at PG. They have enough weapons to win without Nash, but they won't win as much. The No-D gene has been passed from Dallas to Houston. San Antonio gets innoculated, because you're next. Who would have thought that Vince Carter will actually be playing going into the All-Star Game that he unfairly will start in? Fuckin' Nuggets...all you do is ruin my fantasy team. Minnesota: Note to Kevin McHale, MICHAEL OLOWOKANDI SUCKS. MARK MADSEN SUCKS. ERVIN JOHNSON SUCKS. Get a center, really or you will be left behind in the West. My new favorite player is Ira Newble. Way to stick out that foot buddy. Keep up the good work. And this has been annoying me for a while but I heard it three times in 30 seconds on NBAtv the other day and I just need to vent. If you suck at offense, that does not immediately make you "a defensive stopper" or an "energy guy." Maybe you just suck, maybe you just can't do anything productive on the basketball court and you are only around for your "veteran leadership." This furthers the NBA mafia. Once you are in, you can never leave. EVER. (See Kevin Willis and Tom Gugliotta)
  6. Doug Brien's second kick was one of the worst I've seen in recent memory. That was hideous. Hearing the idiots on Fox try to describe it was just as painful...that whole crew cannot talk outside of James Brown but his opinion doesn't seem to matter on that show. I hope its a rematch of the AFC Championship from 1995 between the Steelers and the Colts, hopefully with different results this time.
  7. Shit...Damon Stoudamire dropped 54 on the Hornets and Portland LOST! I watched some of the highlights of that game and it seemed like he couldn't miss. Good for him, bad sign for the Blazers.
  8. Matt Leinart is to make his decision today by 5:30 PM ET (I think ET but I'm not sure) on whether or not he'll enter the draft. He was originally supposed to give his decision yesterday but had to check some more information with one day left... If he doesn't leave I think that the #1 pick will then be Aaron Rodgers of Cal because San Fran seems hell bent on getting a QB #1 overall. If Leinart stayed it would also screw up many a mock draft. Who thinks that even with this extra delay that Leinart will still leave for the NFL?
  9. I can't bring myself to watch basketball anymore... The Knicks lost to the Hornets.
  10. I have never hoped for the Colts to win a game more than this weekend's game against New England. Being a non-New England fan in New England is hell. For years I didnt have to hear anything because the Patriots sucked. But now (and hey they deserve it, two Super Bowls) Patriots fans and the local media won't shut up. The Patriots can do no wrong. Everytime they lose it is blamed on some outside influence or something. They can't just lose and say "We weren't the better team today and we lost." I hate it when the Colts lose but if they sucked that day, I'll say damn they played like shit. I'd just like Patriots fans to do the same. I need this game to shut up this community. It doesn't mean as much to me as if the Colts winning the Super Bowl but if that is Priority 1, beating the Patriots is Priority 1A.
  11. Shit...I fucked up two games. I might as well start the divisional playoff picks nice and early... Colts over Patriots (a man can dream can't he) Steelers over Jets Rams over Falcons Vikings over Eagles I don't care about the NFC anyways so why not pick two upsets...why not!?!
  12. Rams over Seahawks Packers over Vikings Colts over Broncos Chargers over Jets
  13. Only at school in between classes, it helps pass the time when there is nothing else to do for an hour or so.
  14. It should just be the Boston Garden again but somewhere in the name Bank of America...I hope not but it will probably be The Boston Garden brought to you by Bank of America Bank of America Boston Garden The Boston Garden at Bank of America Plaza I think there are a couple of baseball parks that have ridiculously long names just to incorporate the corporate sponsors into the names without killing the actual name of the arena.
  15. From the things I read, this is how people see it so far, without any workouts or games like the Senior Bowl, Blue/Grey, etc. This also implies that certain players leave college early as well. I got the whole first round covered: 1. San Francisco- Matt Leinart, QB(USC) 2. Miami- Cedric Benson, HB(Texas) 3. Cleveland- D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT(Virginia) 4. Tennessee (from Chicago*)- Aaron Rodgers, QB(Cal) 5. Tampa Bay- Cadillac Williams, HB(Auburn) 6. Chicago (from Tennessee*)- Alex Barron, OT(Florida State) 7. Oakland- Braylon Edwards, WR(Michigan) 8. Arizona- Ronnie Brown, HB(Auburn) 9. Washington- Erasmus James, DE(Wisconsin) 10. Detroit- Thomas Davis, S(Georgia) 11. Dallas- Antrel Rolle, CB(Miami,FL) 12.San Diego (from NY Giants#)- Mike Williams, WR(formerly USC) 13. Houston- Rodrique Wright, DT(Texas) 14. Carolina- Derrick Johnson, OLB(Texas) 15. Kansas City- Mathias Kiwanuka, DE(Boston College) 16. New Orleans- Ahmad Brooks, OLB(Virginia) 17. Cincinatti- Travis Johnson, DT(Florida State) 18. Minnesota^- Marcus Spears, DE(LSU) 19. St. Louis^- Pac-Man Jones, CB(West Virginia) 20. Dallas (from Buffalo##)- David Pollack, DE(Georgia) 21. Jacksonville- Dan Cody, DE(Oklahoma) 22. Baltimore- Mark Clayton, WR(Oklahoma) 23. New England^- Marlin Jackson, CB(Michigan) 32. Pittsburgh^- Craphonso Thorpe, WR(Florida State) *,**- speculated trades #- Eli Manning trade ##- J.P. Losman trade
  16. Shawn Green will go to Arizona for prospect catchers Koyie Hill, Chris Snyder or Dioner Navarro along with minor league pitcher William Juarez. Arizona would also get $8 million. In other Dodgers news, LA has resigned troubled yet productive outfielder Milton Bradley. It was a one-year $2.5 million deal. Odalis Perez also reportedly re-upped with the Dodgers with a tentative deal of 3 years, $24 million. Though only 7-6, Perez was considered LA's ace last year.
  17. 55-19!! Everyone that doubted USC got a rude fucking awakening last night as the Trojans beat the shit out of the Oklahoma Sooners, 55-19. Matt Leinart, the #1 pick if he decides to leave, threw an Orange Bowl record 5 TD's. I am going to calm down now but over the week leading up to this game I had gotten so aggrevated with all the analysts picking Oklahoma that this is just sweet sweet justice. USC just proves once again that they should have been in the BCS title game last year and that they were the best team all year this year. And one last thing, is it just me or does Jason White constantly look baked?
  18. The past couple of days has seen a couple of big names taken off the table...Moises Alou and Eric Milton. With Alou, he basically used the Mets to jack up his price for the team he was targetting the entire time, his dad's team the San Francisco Giants. Good for Moises, bad for the Mets as they are now scrambling to get into talks with Magglio Ordonez and **UGHH** trade talks with the Cubs for Sammy Sosa and will probably overpay/give too much away for either because of how much time they spent pursuing Alou and other free agents early in the signing period. The Reds came seemingly out of nowhere to sign Eric Milton. It was down to a two horse race between the Marlins and the Yankees and at one time it was reported that the Yankees had even signed Milton. Similar to the David Wells scenario with Arizona a couple of years back, it was just someone in the organization jumping the gun and leaking a story to get some press. With Milton though, the rotation now has a solid top 3, nothing too special but solid, in Milton, Paul Wilson, and Ramon Ortiz (acquired from the Angels for pitching prospect Dustin Mosely). MLB.com lists these as the Top 5 free agents left with their potential suitors: 1. Carlos Beltran: Yankees, Houston, Mets 2. Carlos Delgado: Mets, Seattle 3. Magglio Ordonez: Mets, Baltimore 4. Derek Lowe: Los Angeles, Detroit 5. Odalis Perez: Washington, Seattle
  19. The Sixers would more than likely have to do what Minnesota did a few years ago with Terrell Brandon and trade Glenn Robinson to Atlanta even though he is hurt. He and maybe someone like Kedrick Brown would probably be the bait because Iverson is the only other person whose money would remotely come close to matching up. The thing is...is Atlanta that desperate to unload Walker, in the final year of his contract, to trade him for two beat up guys, even though they are both in the final years of their contracts. I don't see Walker going to Philly but hey who knows. The more likely place for him would be to a Western Conference team looking to put some more butts in the seats with an All-Star name, say the Clippers or the Grizzlies. There is also rumors that Danny Ainge is trying to get Walker back in Boston but I think they are just bull shit.
  20. WEEK 16 provided some highs and lows for me. The highs: Peyton Manning's 49th TD and the Colt's comeback win over the Chargers, watching the Tampa Bay Fuckaneers get stomped by the Carolina Panthers (even though for some reason I picked the Bucs to get into the playoffs?!?), and getting to see Buffalo manhandle the 49ers so there is no doubt who will get the #1 pick next year. The lows: Having Brian Westbrook and Donovan McNabb starting on my fantasy team, having to see Koy Detmer play, having Chad Pennington shit the bed and the Patriots win again, see Big Ben get knocked out of the game by the Ravens (even though he will be back), and having to see Jeff Blake play. FUCK YOU PHILLY, YOU DESTROYED MY CHANCE AT THE TITLE! And you made an unsuspecting national audience watch Koy Detmer play. Koy Detmer!
  21. The player that got hit in the eye with the flag was Orlando Brown and the ref was Jeff Tripplett. Brown was out of the league for about 3 years before coming back with the Ravens. I think he's out of the league again though because he can't get along with anybody in the locker room.
  22. I found it funny that the Minnesota-Green Bay game was a final of 34-31, once again on a Ryan Longwell field goal as the game winner. Stupid penalties on the final Minnesota surge did them in. I hope they drop out of the playoffs entirely because they are the biggest chokers in the NFL. It happens every year, they rush out to a good start and just fade away.
  23. oooooo...BURN! Hey you can get a new Vince Carter Nets jersey off of NBA.com or an Alonzo Mourning Raptors jersey. Take your pick, either of the jerseys will have no value in two years. I myself was going to try to get a Rasheed Wallace Hawks jersey for shits and giggles but NBA.com wouldn't allow that exact personalization at the time. But enough of that rant... I just saw Blanck on ESPNnews and he looked like he had just won the lottery 50 times over. He's got a cornerstone it seems that he never wants Vick to leave....EVER!
