  1. Yeah, they are really reeling right about now. With how messed up their pitching has been this season, they are lucky to still be competing. They now have a rotation of Johnson-Mussina-Leiter-Nomo-Chacon I believe? Compare that to Johnson-Pavano-Mussina-Wright-Brown at the beginning of the season. Its been a disaster this season ←

  5. How desperate are the Yankees for pitching? First they picked up Hideo Nomo off waivers from the D-Rays and now they have traded for Colorado's Shawn Chacon, who is 0-7 in his last 10 starts. Way to be Yanks!!!!
  6. I am entering my team into the frey right now: HeathShulerAteUrBaby
  7. Phil Nevin rejected the trade to the O's. That deal didn't make any sense anyways. 5 days until the deadline hopefully Adam Dunn ends up on the Dodgers. Wishful thinking I guess. Still only 5 games out in the division though, and D-Lowe pitched crazy good yesterday. Hopefully Schmoll stays up with the big club as well.
  8. Favorite Team- Indianapolis Colts Teams I Hope Spontaneously Combust- New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins Team That's Going All The Way- This is finally the Colts' year!!! MVP- Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Rookie of the Year (offensive/defensive)- Cadillac Williams, Tampa Bay / Marcus Spears, Dallas Surprise Rookie of the Year- JJ Arrington, Arizona Surprise Team of the Year- Cincinnati Bengals
  9. In basketball I usually get stuck at power forward or center because of my height and the fact that I live in a town of small Italian people (I am only 6'3"). I prefer the small forward spot as it allows me to shoot and rove around on offense. In baseball I enjoy pitching but that's basically because I suck at fielding and the pitcher's spot provides the least amount of opportunities to have to field. Covering first is no problem but I don't even put my glove up on line drives, I just duck and cover. For football I like playing safety and quarterback but I usually end up on the d-line because of my size. Never played it organized but in pickup games I can cut through the D with little slant routes but if I try to throw it more than say 40-45 yards the damn pass ends up looking like a punt.
  10. With Action Replay codes I tried it out on PS2 the other day and its just hilarious, if anyone else tries it out just keep flipping the girl into different positions over and over because its just ridiculous.
  11. Considering that Knoblauch gave the Yanks much needed hitting and speed at 2B, and was easily one of the game's best 2nd baseman, and played a crucial role in their World Series win, I fail to see how this is one of the 10 worst trades in sports history. ←
  12. Nice to see the Dodgers put two good pitching performances back to back. I just want to see if they can somehow get back in the NL West race with the rest of the division being so horrible.
  13. There have been some horrid trades in the history of professional sports but these ten just take the cake for me...(in no particular order) 10 Quebec trades the rights to Eric Lindros to Philadelphia for Peter Forsberg, Mike Ricci, Chris Simon, Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, Ron Hextall, $15 million, and two first round draft picks. 9 Philadelphia trades Charles Barkley to Phoenix for Tim Perry, Andrew Lang, and Jeff Hornacek 8 Seattle trades Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe to Boston for Heathcliff Slocumb 7 Baltimore trades Pete Harnisch, Curt Schilling, and Steve Finley to Houston for Glenn Davis 6 New York trades Chuck Knoblauch to Minnesota for Cristian Guzman, Eric Milton, and Brian Buchanan 5 Houston trades the rights to Richard Jefferson, Jason Collins, and Brandon Armstrong to New Jersey for the rights to Eddie Griffin 4 Milwaukee trades the rights to Dirk Nowitzki and Pat Garrity to Dallas for the rights to Robert Traylor 3 Chicago trades Rafael Palmeiro and Jamie Moyer to Texas for Mitch Williams 2 Los Angeles trades Pedro Martinez to Montreal for Delino DeShields {this one hits home} 1 Dallas trades Herschel Walker to Minnesota for Jesse Solomon, Issiac Holt, Darrin Nelson, David Howard, Alex Stewart, Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (21), Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1990 (47), Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (11), Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (38), Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (40), Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71) picks turned into DT Russell Maryland, RB Emmitt Smith, CB Kevin Smith, S Darren Woodson, and CB Clayton Holmes WORST TRADE EVER...
  14. That is crazy. This is the type of thing I'll buy a game for. EA how I hate your games sometimes but you always find a way to suck me back in.
  15. Things just keep getting stranger and worse for Phillip in Hollywood. Now he's going to have another person on his team who's a project in Kwame Brown. He will also be losing a solid 3 in Caron Butler and either the team's starting PG in Chucky Atkins or one of the most reliable sixth men in the league in Devean George. This move will move Odom to the 3 after primarily playing the 4 last year but I still don't understand it. Kwame Brown? And why give up two players, productive ones nonetheless, for a guy who was told to stay home during the Wizards' playoff run last year. Whatever, the California heat makes people do strange things. Like draft Andrew Bynum. (even though he seems to be doing well in the summer leagues)
  16. Redding will more than likely the same fate as the person he was traded with (Darell May). The last time I saw that guy pitch he didn't make it out of the second inning. But as a baseball fan I enjoy when bailout moves by the Yanks just turn into worse things.
  17. I think Preston Wilson will easily fit into the 5 hole in the Nationals' lineup and be a very good run producer. Easily his home run numbers will suffer but with the Nationals playing so well I think he'll get many a chance to drive in runs. As for poor Eric Byrnes this guy goes from a bad situation to a worse one. The A's aren't going to stink past this year or maybe next at the maximum in my opinion but the Rockies are going to be a bad team for a good amount of time and getting rid of one of your more reliable starters to fill a whole you just created. Don't get me wrong I think Byrnes is a good player, but even in Coors Field I don't think he'll ever put up a Preston Wilson-like season. That team is so far back they could've let a younger guy like a Brad Hawpe or Cory Sullivan play center and not make the Byrnes trade at all. But this was in response to Jay Payton coming to Oakland. Trade one of your hardest working players for one who does nothing but bitch and complain like a 5 yr old whenever he doesn't get his way. At least he got Kennedy in the Byrnes deal or I would have been doubting Mr. Moneyball for a bit.
  18. This game is good for people with way too much time on their hands, if you are not one of said people, this game will annoy you very quickly. I know a kid who built a house in the sky by stealing pillows and stacking them up all the way to the clouds. It took him a day. I couldn't even play any of my all-time favorite games for a day nevermind spend that amount of time doing something so useless in a game that is already too long. I've played this game myself a couple of times but since early in the game your character is so weak, I am usually killed by a couple of angry women.
  19. Why do such a thing? You have a former #1 overall pick patrolling at the 4. Wait a minute, it's Joe Smith...my bad.
  20. Abreu killed the records for the HR derby. I'm glad I stayed around to watch that show. 24 home runs. And the all looked so easy, he never overswng once even taking it to opposite field once. My pick going in was Carlos Lee but he just ran out of gas in the second round. Best home run derby in a while though.
