The lack of goals is slightly worrying. We need a striker.
Newcastle fans' treatment of the referee is baffling, he basically got every decision right bar not awarding us a penalty.
Coloccini's and Wijnaldum's yellow cards. Top, top decisions.
-
Well, he did rediscover his potential here while playing for Sao Paulo. Found a lot of his old form playing on the left wing with Osorio.

Alexandre Pato's agent has confirmed he's going to Tottenham for 11 million euros.

River Plate defender Ramiro Funes Mori has signed with Everton.

It's true. I've no qualms over KDB. His absence and/or success elsewhere aren't an eternal hole in my heart like with, say, Schurrle.

And indeed, our net spending has still been substantially less than any of Man City, Man United, Arsenal or Liverpool over the past few years, so I'm not fussed about the extra cash.
As for his actual footballing talent, he's good but I accept that no club can have All The Players, particularly when playing the Loan Farm system of balancing the books with continuous incomings and outgoings. I want to play Oscar and Hazard and Fabregas and (sometimes) Willian and so on. If we kept KDB, one of these would not necessarily get played, and I'm not completely sold on the idea of there being a massively obvious chasm in quality between KDB and Oscar, for example. At least, for the one half of a season where Oscar performs anyway.
I actually think De Bruyne is about one or two classes above Oscar. He had a fantastic season with Wolfsburg.

Anyone watched him a lot? I've seen youtube clips and all that from a while back, but wondering if anyone had watched him more than that. Either way, seems like much needed pace and flair. Couldn't help but love this tweet I saw about him from a Spurs account.
Son Heung-min is the only player in history to score a Bungesliga hattrick on a losing side. Sounds perfect for us.
I fucking love the guy. He's like, super super good. Pacy, electric and very skilled player. Could be a difference maker for Spurs.

Thauvin in less than 90 minutes of football with Newcastle already has the same amount of goals and more assists than Remy Cabella last season.
-
McManaman has something special about his game. I'd like to see him at a more ambitious/bigger club one day. Pure talent.
-
I'd rather have Raphael Guerreiro over Abdennour, even though he's my favorite player at Monaco. What a defender.
Left-back is definitely a need, even Aarons performed better than Haidara at LB.
-
Aymen Abdennour and Layvin Kurzawa are apparently set to join Newcastle on a combined 36M deal. Wow.
-
Thauvin to Newcastle is a DONE DEAL.
-
Mangala has looked brilliant so far this season, I don't see why they'd want rid of him.
Also Thauvin to Newcastle is expected to be completed this week. I'm doubtful about it all but I will be giddy if he signs, he's exactly what's needed in midfield at the minute!
When he's on his day, unstoppable. But there's too much inconsistency in his game to make me believe he's going to be the guy to solve our midfield.
-
Mitrovic is insane. I see this guy getting about 4~5 red cards this season and that's being nice. He's also super freaking awesome phisically.
-
Big area, small area. That's how it's said in Brazil.

According to Emanuele Giulianelli (who was right about Newcastle's Mitrovic and Mbemba deals way before they got official), Newcastle are set to make an actually SHOCKING 35M bid for Valencia's Nicolas fucking

Filipe Luis' has sealed his return to Atlético Madrid.
Stevan Jovetic is at Milan, set to do his medical.

Good Kid M.A.A.D City. I wasn't really paying attention to the whole lyrical content/album concept the first time. I was young and stupid.
-
Aston Villa have had a 12M bid accepted for Jordan Ayew. Scored 13 goals in 28 games at Ligue 1, 23 years old, plays primarily up top but I believe he can also play as a winger.
-
If Rolando Aarons stays fit he could potentially be amazing. He was very good last year in the glimpses we got of him.
Like a very raw, left footed, less cuntish Raheem Sterling. Hopefully the new deal is sorted before he kicks a ball this season.
I might be overrating the guy a lot right now, but from what he's shown I believe he is superior in certain ways to Raheem. A more skilled dribbler, and better decision-making.
-
Rolando Aarons, and if we don't sign a back-up RB, Jamie Sterry will be getting plenty of opportunities. Liam Smith looks like he might get some playing time at the cups.
-
According to Portuguese jornalist Jorge Bacao, Joao Moutinho is set to sign with Newcastle for 13M euros. Tremendous signing and a bargain if it happened.
-
Chancel Mbemba has been pictured at St James' Park. The signing will likely be announced today.
-
They did only concede 3 goals in the first 30 minutes, all from set pieces, so it was about par.
They were all shit, but only one of those was actually their fault. You can give the other two to Sissoko and Gouffran doing fuck all in the box during a set-piece.
