Bought the game a few days ago and I have a couple of questions. Is offensive magic ever good in BG3? I've found healing and buffing useful but offensive magic really weak. You often have to be stood a lot closer than I'd have expected for the magic to reach enemies and then you can only cast a few times before you're out of spell slots. And if your mage gets trapped next to an enemy it's essentially game over for them. I made a ranger and have been using Astarion and Lae'zel. My character and Astarion do a lot of long distance fighting and Lae'zel tanks/does some serious damage in close range. No one has really leapt out as a reliable fourth character in battles. Can you make another character besides the Origins to join your team?

I remember a rumour that if you got to level 99 before leaving Midgar that either Zack would join your party or Cloud would become Zack. I actually tried the challenge over a summer holiday and got to about level 56 before becoming utterly bored by the grind. I think I did the maths on it too shortly before the point of quitting and realized it was going to take an insane amount of time. Another memory I have is completely boning myself the first time I played FFVII because, for some reason, I felt like using magic was cheating. So I didn't ever equip materia. I got to the prison in the Golden Saucer before the game became too difficult. A friend clued me in that I should be using materia so I just started again.

With that and the Broncos game we should really be 5-6. The coaching is so bad at times that it's really hard to get a feel for if Justin Fields is the guy or not. He deserves a different coaching staff but any staff that wants to come in is almost certainly going to want to draft their own guy at QB with the Panthers #1 pick.

It's really hard not to hate the Bears' coaching staff.

I had the exact same experience. I'd never played a RPG before and had mainly stuck to sports games and the odd platformer. I assumed the entire game would be set in Midgar and would see us systemically destroy the mako reactors one by one.

Surprised you didn't start Allen considering their match-ups.

They drafted Dalton Kincaid in the 1st round this year and he's doing pretty well for them. I certainly think they should have been in on someone else like DeAndre Hopkins this year as well though.

I have to assume the Bears are working on an extension for Sweat, otherwise it's another awful trade. Even with the extension, Sweat is 27 and I can't see the Bears turning things around in the next couple of years.
