  1. Perry and Ryles ahead of Fielden? That was like Perry's first good game ever. Hell, I think he even deliberately missed the Sea Eagles game last year to keep away from Leuluai And Ryles is a cat. Gives away too many penalties and gets carried by Bailey.
  2. Newcastle's success is determined soley on Andrew John's fitness. With him in the side, the rest of the team don't think they can lose and their confidence rises heaps as a result. When he's out, they don't think they can win, all confidence goes out the window and they start playing like wooden spooners. It even had an effect on NSW and Australia. Granted, Johns is the best player in the world (in my opinion), but it's what he adds mentally to the rest of the team that gets them over the line. And if Manly don't smash Cronulla this week in revenge for a) last year's smashing; b) Darren Alberts; we're in for a long season methinks.
  3. Cross out regularly and I may agree with you there. But then again, you guys have bugger all to do down there.
  4. Let's see. Cricket: We are number one in the world, in both forms of the game, despite losing the Ashes (for what, the first time in a decade or two?). We just have one or two selection problems League: We're probably best in the world as well, despite not winning the Tri-Nations, but again, selection problems as Bennett continued to pick 'his boys' Union: In the top 3 or 4, New Zealand and South Africa (maybe even England too >_>) pip us here Soccer: Eh, middle-ish. We're better than what we're ranked (50th or so), but we're not great. It'll be interesting to see how we go in the World Cup Swimming: Number one in the world by far when we have our all top guns swimming Tennis: In Davis Cup terms, we're up with the best, but our only Top 5 person in either Men's or Women's is Hewitt, though we do have a few coming through Golf: Not as good as we were when Norman went around, but we still have people like Scott, Allenby, Pampling etc. winning tournaments here and there And I'm running out of sports to talk about >_> But yeah, overall, we're a very sporty nation, considering we only have a population of around 20 million. Much better than England anyway Even if our International sport in 2005 was horrible (lost the cricket, union, league etc.).
  5. Well, 15 teams from 3 states, 1 territory and New Zealand actually, but whatever >_> Jamie Lyon isn't second-rate, no, in fact he's probably the best centre in the world. And he's hot favourites to come to Manly next year But, we do have second-rate/retired players over there going very well. Darren Alberts (2nd rate ever since the 1997 Grand Final, the drug cheat. We'll be taking his head off this round though), Chad Randall (useless hack who only got into first grade because of his father, suppose he was a good defender though), Ian Hindmarsh (right?), Andrew Walker (he was alright I guess, but then he got done in for drugs), Bret Dallas, Scott Donald etc. And North Queensland rely on their back 3 plus Thurston to take them to Premierships. And Thurston is a grub who should be locked up in gaol rather than playing League
  6. Name other one, I dare you But generally, your forwards are exactly that. League has gone moved away from the big powerhouse forward who lacks mobility to those who are still big, but are more fit and stuff >_> And yes, your rucks are continuous movement etc. but, what, the defence line only has to go back five metres? It means they're tackled again soon after, unless they get a kick away and then the game becomes more like AFL then Union And yeah, we don't push that much in scrums, but we haven't the need to since balls went in through the second row rather than through the hooker. And by we I mean League players While we're at it, I hope the NRL does raise the salary cap, meaning we can keep more of our existing players rather than losing them to Union and England. The constant "going after League players" mentality the ARU has also has a bad effect on the state of Union in Australia, as their juniors will probably see more of a chance of playing Union at a national level by going through League, rather than Union itself, as there is more chance to get yourself on the main scene in League due to the amount of teams going around.
  7. Huh? Who leaked 30 points compared to 10 in the WCC? very poor? go fuck, its only slightly behind, and thats only because the first 8 years was a Wigan/Saints/Leeds/Bradford money grabbing sesh.
  8. The Rugby Sevens was embarassing to watch when I was waiting for the League to come on. All it was was Lote Tuquiri (an ex-league player) running around with a bunch of kids. Now, League on the other hand, awesome sport. The only thing substandard about it is the quality of our referees. If you ever get to watch a game of NRL (the ESL is very poor in comparison to ours, especially the defence), do so. Thoroughly entertaining.
  9. Surprisingly, I like all four of those. But seriously, Quom, what the hell?

In terms of gameplay, it looks kinda awesome. But the graphics are crap (2000ish) and judging by the fact that I haven't heard of it until now, and there is hardly any community for the game, it sounds as if not many people will buy it and therefore may lessen the fun of the game. However, I'll wait for a bit and see a few reviews before deciding whether to buy it or not. Gladiator fights sound quite the awesome.
  11. It's in my profile downie_kwyjibo@hotmail.com And I was talking to you before on it as well, unless that post was before I contacted you
  12. I'm not downloading the demo, it's way too big :ohwell: However, if anyone's up for a game of BFME1 now, MSN me or something (I would have last night Aj, but it was too late for me to start a game )
  13. I'll have to play you online Aj. I got number one when it came out, and whilst it was good, heaps of things could have been improved. As long as this one has a semi-decent singeplayer mission mode (unlike the first where it was just destroy all the enemies in the area without much actual story to it, save the movie based missions), it should be a great game.

    Tennis!

Mauresmo won the Women's and Baghdatis is a set up in the Men's. Shows all you non-believers Update: Ugh, 2-1 Federer. First two sets were 7-5 and the third was 6-0 to Federer :ohwell:
  15. Battle Royale. How awesome would it be if you could just be a contestant in a Battle Royale and do everything they could, eg. interact with others, form alliances, kill people with dustbin lids. I found a site before with some guy outlining a BR game and it was quite good (not the CS: Source mod one, something totally different), I'll see if I can find it again. I also root for a good GTA style zombie game. That would be awesome.
  16. I've watched about 20 minutes of it so far. It looks great visually, but the acting is dubious and it just looks as if the directors wanted to cram as many orgasmic moments in as possible (don't want to say anything in case of 'spoilers' though).

    Tennis!

Federer and Roddick through, no surprises there. Pavel beat Moya in a tight match. In Hewitts match it's 1 set all and 4-3 his way in the third. EDIT: Hewitt is now down 2-1 and it's 4-4 in the fourth. An early exit maybe? And now he's down 6-5 in the 4th. Hewitt wins the 4th and its now down to the final set. My tip: Hewitt to win. Vik had the game in the bag there but lost it, his confidence will drop and Hewitt's will rise.

    Rugby!

Bonsie, 12characters, Misanthrope, Anti-Hero and myself are all rugby league fans. We follow the NRL, not the Superleague though. And coming up in August? That's only 8 months away
