I like watching it from time to time, but it just lasts too long. I cant devote that much time to watch something with so many gaps that over your end would be full of commercials, but over here are filled with nothing of value (some insight on a rubbish play that gained a yard or something). I used to really hate it, but playing Madden finally let me understand what the hell was going on which made it a lot better and I always watch the Superbowl now.

English club football has barely any recent history of violence, granted a bunch of scumbags in Burberry hats may well make our international record look bad, but I can't remember any heated violent incidents in club football since the start of the Premiership, and certainly none in home European ties. Unlike Marseilles/Newcastle last season in which a fire was started in one of the stairways leading from the concourse to the seats in the Newcastle end, by French fans throwing flares. Very little action was taken by UEFA, again if this was at the home tie Newcastle would have been heavily dealt with.

Saw the Welsh highlights and I'd feel very hard done to if I was Robbie Savage. In his interview on Sky he said the tackle was out to break his legs and I agree with him, that should be far more than the standard ban, it was a shocking challenge. I've got Paul Robinson in my Sun Dream Team and he's on fucking fire, man of the match against Newcastle (bastard!), and at least another clean sheet, so good knows how he's going through a shitty patch. I fail to see how a keeper change will disrupt anything, and since Sven didn't feel the need to properly try out some different teams in friendlies now is the time. I'd have Robinson in goal, Defoe on for Smith (again, Defoe is shit hot so far this season), move Beckham into the middle and lose Lampard for Wright-Phillips. As much as I like Lampard, he and Gerrard are playing a very similar role at the moment, and Gerrard shades it. If Beckham plays badly in his favoured central position, switch Lampard back in. We need wingers who will actually take someone on, and Wright-Phillips has that, and Bridge could if given a chance, especially overlapping with Ashley Cole.
