    The Thrills!

Sound pretty good live but So Much For the City tails off very badly in the second half. Strangely all songs seem to sound much better in summer, preferably at a BBQ, around 6 or 7 when its getting a little darker. So its going back on the rack til next year, poor timing releasing the new album in Autumn, fools.
  2. I actually managed to stand him tonight, Paula Radcliffe rubbish aside, probably because he wasn't presenting the thing. Ian Wright couldn't present... a cat, but as a captain he was fairly reasonable. Certainly more so than Phil 'the twat' Tufnell, the hard man of cricket. And what the fuck was Ian 'Liverpool Supporter' Beale doing on there? Knowsit!

  4. I assume that was womens and I don't quite follow your point. Its exactly the same sport, just because the standard isn't as high doesn't make it fake. You've achieved homophobia and sexism in one post.
  5. Mani - Primal Scream, Stone Roses. Oozes cool, and purveyor of some of the most ace basslines of the last 10-15 years. If it weren't for Mani's cool basslines, John Squires crazy spirally guitar wouldn't have anywhere near the same effect. Case in point: Fools Gold.
  6. It also helps with getting games started and finished around the same times, necessary at those tight end of season moments. As well as allowing Manchester United those crucial extra ten minutes to score winning goals.
  7. I snuck in through that backdoor too, and I feel sooooo dirty... I'll get back to you with opinions in a mo.

    Reading/Leeds

And two other people in the room, if your above post is accurate. Tenting is so the way to go, my festival tent has seen some sights I tell thee. And my official festival mini football rules too (one of those size 2 jobbys, perfect for whiling away the first day before the bands come on, and skinning Scots up at T in the Park).
  9. Can someone explain something to me about ScummVM? I've been perusing the website confused as hell, but is this thing telling me I can play my Amiga version of Zak McKracken on my shiny computer? Please tell me it is, please please please?

    Reading/Leeds

Probably not many, I'm convinced 90% of people who claim to have pulled at festivals are talking bollocks, you can tell by looking at em. I'm annoyingly not going to Leeds, it took me so long to get a few people interested tickets sold out, and I'm going to be absolutely gutted all weekend now. It'll be a 2 year hiatus for me too until next summer since my uber-festival summer of 2002. T in the Park and Leeds, best summer of my life.

    Best Bargain Ever

Let it Come Down by Spiritualized - £2, and in the crazy case too. Menswe@r - Nuisance. £1. I bought 3 copies for various people. Best bargain ever!
  12. My conscience is still wrestling with the 'should I download it and have the guilt of stealing from one of my favourite bands or should I buy it next week and have the guilt of fueling Petes heroin habit?' conundrum, so I'll shoot you an answer after that. I don't think I'm looking forward to the La's-ie stuff though, I've heard What Katy Did and I'm not that impressed. How did you get an advance copy anyway?
  13. Im liking the sound of attires being unlockable in Shopzone, hopefully a la No Mercy, as it might allow them to put in La Res's attire and some other forgotten superstars (FBI, Bashams etc.). It'd be nice if they put some faces in too so that CAW is a bit quicker when you add the missing WWE wrestlers. The 5 in a stable thing was a very strange omission last year, so I'm glad its back in this time. Last years had 4 different stables just to represent the different versions of Evolution. French Tickler Elbow? Yay!
  14. Monkey Island 2. Always Monkey Island 2. Plus if someone can point me to a version of Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders that will work on PC I'd be very very happy.
  15. A LIFE LESS ORDINARY - Superb film with a superb soundtrack, including superb tunes like Round Are Way by Oasis, Don't Leave by Faithless (the only Faithless tune that I really, really, really like) and possibly my favourite soundtrack single of all time, A Life Less Ordinary by Ash. All-Round Awards

My votes comprise of Malcolm in the Middle and Soccer/Futbol (although the Futbol thing confused the hell out of me, what language is that?) simply based on the fact they're the only things on the whole list I've seen other than Tennis which I don't really like. So theres your winners.
  18. I'm still reading up on the possibility of suing them under the Trade Descriptions Act for use of the word 'Good'. I think I've got a case.
  19. I just wish they'd take advantage of the fact its on DVD and put loads more titantron videos and theme music in. If they put in the FBI music and video, and London and Kidmans, and Hurricanes, I wouldn't mind them being dropped from the roster as you'd be able to make perfect CAW's. And a few classic themes would be ace, last years had a DX entrance without DX music, whats the point of that?
  20. SYM just had a list of generic names like Lone Wolf, in addition to some missed out superstars like Tommy Dreamer. LOW actually had seperate first and second names so you could make names, sneakily including popular American surnames like Angle. Bret Hart. The rest all wrestled under false names ←
  21. Please god use some of Jeff Wayne's musical score. Please please please. But still..... They come! Bam Bam Bam! Badaba badaba!
  22. Wouldn't THQ state how many superstars they could do though? WWE picking them explains A-Trains call-up though. Big point of the day: Brutus Fucking Beefcake! The man who without the influence of Hulk Hogan would have been forgotten about during the 80's, never to be seen again. Thanks Hogan, now I have to put up with him in a game. Hart, Piper, Andre, Snuka, Beefcake. Somebody tell me which one is out of place there?
