  1. I'm blaming Soto for that goal. Even though I didn't see the goal.
  2. Although, unlike under Woy, he's playing in the right postion.
  3. Think he means Rafa and Roy. But Rafa was sacked by Hicks and Gillette not NESV.
  4. I will stick with Viking until at least 2016! I swear it!
  5. I decided to holiday a little post season. And I put on 'apply for jobs at higher rep clubs' for some reason and I got sacked. Although I am now manager of Viking in the Norwegian league. I have been at 3 clubs in 2014 now.
  6. Jordan, you were saying 'It's Benitez's fault Liverpool are underperforming this season' if you meant to say otherwise, your wording didn't indicate that fact. What HTTK is saying is Liverpool are under performing because the players have given up. Which I can agree with. It's not Benitez's fault that happened. This is a squad that when hell for leather to win the league - but didn't get it done. I think that was a massive blow to the team. The lack of ability to bring in new players to improve on that second position finish, meaning that Alonso had to go and not be replaced. No other strikers but N'Gog really could be called on to replace Torres. That the left back and center back positions couldn't be strengthened. Coupled with Spurs and Man City improving their squads through investing a good chunk of money in players that made the competition. Liverpool suffered as a result. But Hodgson was never going to be the man to change that. Not if the best he can offer as a solution is settling for mid-table or lower. Hodgson's signing were not going to improve Liverpool in any way. Insua out, Konchesky in (buying an older player and bombing out a younger player with potential to be better than him), Aquilani out (he spent a lot the first year at the club injured, but he created quite a few goals for Liverpool last season), Meireles in (decent signing except he has been played out of position) and Paulsen is essentially Mascherano-lite. He also re-signed the injury prone Aurellio. The Aquilani loan move was the first thing that really flashed for me. Here you have a very good player being loaned out for no reason.
  7. Benitez is awful! I mean he got to two Champions League finals, and won one of them! He even almost won the Premier league, with Liverpool no less! He is at the center of all of Liverpool's problems, not the previous owners or their attempts to bleed the club dry!
  8. Wait so the whole reason Roy Hodgson failed is because of Rafa Benitez!!? That pesky Spanyard was sabotaging him from the Inter Milan training ground! Try again, you sound like every poorly informed football pundit in the world!
  9. I think everyone, apart from Liverpool fans, are thinking the same. After the way Liverpool fans turned against Hodgson, I really hope Liverpool do worse under Daglish, even maybe getting relegated. Then the fans will have no-one to blame but themselves. If either of you had watched the last four Liverpool games, you might get that while Liverpool lost last night and on Sunday. The Liverpool that showed up in those games was VASTLY different from the one that showed up to play in Roy Hodgson's last two games. I spoke to someone on Twitter about this last night - and yes, the squad needs rebuilding. It is not going to take Kenny Dalglish coming in on Saturday to improve results, but he's improved performances. Yes, the squad isn't perfect. But Liverpool were caught into an enforced sell to buy policy for the last few years, resulting in a squad lacking in depth and quality in places. It's not an overnight thing. But things are looking up with the way the players have upped performances in the last two games, Steve Clarke has been brought in. It's not going to switch over night. It may take a few games. To be honest, there is a massive difference between Newcastle and Liverpool's scenarios. Keegan was the man behind turning Newcastle from struggling Second Division (at the time) team to near runners up in the Premiership. While Dalglish was the last in a string of successful Liverpool mangers in the 70s and 80s. Keegan was out of football and brought back by an unpopular owner looking to get fans off his back. Dalglish has been at Liverpool for two years already. I can see where the comparisons come from 'successful former manager from 'glory years' brought in to placate fans' but I don't think Liverpool fans would've called for Dalglish if he wasn't already at Liverpool as Academy Director. They'd probably have chanted for Benitez.
  10. Finished 7th in the league. Now looking to trim the squad of dead weight/aging players. Bring in some new players. Hopefully get some kind of decent budget from the board in order to build the squad up a bit.
  11. 1-1 at half time between Liverpool and Blackpool. Torres scores, and Torres mistake leads to Steven Taylor-Fletcher scoring. Liverpool have been playing better once more, than they had under Hodgson. Probably should have a second by now.
  12. I'm kinda getting fed up with the 'DAVID BECKHAM IS TRAINING WITH SPURS' thing that has been pretty much all over Sky Sports News every day. Yes he's training with Spurs, he may or may not sign a loan deal with them. He's also looks like Badly Drawn Boy in the Spurs training kit.
  13. It's okay so far. Wishing we had a little more money and could better hold a lead (just drew a match we were winning 2-1). If I can make the right improvements to this squad it could challenge for the title. This team drew 13 games this season and I have not won since taking over. Nor have I lost for that matter. I'm still casting a bit of a jealous eye over my old club Shinnik who have just won promotion to the Russian Premier League with the squad I built. Like I said, I figure with some good purchases I could get this Djurgarden team to challenge for the title or at least Europe.
  14. Djurgarden are good at drawing. I have drawn three in three. Not much chance of us finishing higher than 7th. I'll sort the team out a bit in the close season. On the international front. Both Eto'o and Thomas Billong my two big players appear to be out for the Cup of Nations.
  15. I've been finding that SUSIE has been awful recently too. I pretty much do the same. I can't start a game until I have club logos and the real competition names at least.
  16. Stumbled across this article the other day about Hodgson's reign. Meant to post it then but EWB went down.
  17. I've moved from Shinnik (who are now top of the Pervj Division and I'd have stayed if not for the names and the fact I couldn't remember the non-Russian players names which was important because of league rules) and ended up managing Cameroon. Then I got a job at Djurgården. So far two draws with them and heading into my second game with Cameroon.
  18. During the Summer, there was talk of Daglish getting the job as well. I was against it. For a lot of the reasons people here have suggested. But I can accept him in charge temporarily. Because when it comes to people who are already at the club, who could take temporary charge, it's down to Sammy Lee and Kenny Daglish. I'd rather Dalgish. Oh and it's only 11 eleven years since he took temporary charge of Celtic. If we're playing the 'how many years since Kenny Daglish...' game. Which as true as it all is, he can't do worse than Roy. His remit won't be to get Liverpool into the Champions League in the remaining games just to keep the club from sinking any lower than it already has.
  19. Liverpool have canceled Roy Hodgson's press conference for today. Probably not the best sign for him.
  20. Houllier's youth development at Liverpool was mainly "buy French kids" who flopped. He was successful at Liverpoool initially but he has declined post heart problems. He did well at Lyon, but he inherited a dominant team. Who had most of their success under LeGuen. Fulham, is Roy Hodgson's only success in England (and turned him from the man who practically relegated Blackburn to the great white hope of English managers). He did well with Fulham. But most of his success has been in Sweden and he has overseen the worst start to a Liverpool in decades. He could very well drag the club into a relegation battle.
  21. If Woy isn't gone by Monday, I'll be surprised.
  22. I was having stream issues then I saw the goalflash on Sky. Certainly seems Woy is paying Rovers back for relegating them all those years back. All the while I'm thinking, any more of him and we'll go the same way!
  23. Hodgson should already be out. The agony is prolonged at this point.
  24. As I said above, I resigned and have found myself at World Cup QTR finalists Cameroon (after a day at Plymouth, because I changed my mind). Just had my first game as Cameroon boss and we won 4-1 against Uganda and qualified for the 2015 Cup of Nations as a result.
