  1. Someone got in there already on Wiki. Nice to see Robbie going to yet another of his childhood favorite clubs!
  2. Screw that! I have resigned after nearly a year in charge. Unless I get a better job I may not save this.
  3. I'm starting to have the same problem that Benji(I think?) had in Eastern Europe. I cannot get a handle on these players names. We've made a decent start to the season though. Though I'm sort of thinking I might resign.
  4. Having Adebeyor would be all well and good, so long as a) he's motivated to play b) we have a functional midfield that will get the ball to him. Because when Liverpool play to the levels of the Wolves game last week, where there is no visible midfield to get the ball forward and attack, having the greatest strikers in the world means bugger all.
  5. My current game has gotten to nearly 2014. This is my longest lasting 'first game' in the years I've been playing FM. Last night I got the urge to play with the editor and start a new game with some customized data. Partially inspired by seeing the presence of extinct teams on the database. Or just do things that I've done already (or expanded on). Last year I did a bit of an overhaul of the MLS for my Vancouver game, where I stuck a few non-MLS teams into the MLS. Or play with the Old Firm teams in the Premier League. Don't know if I can be bothered starting over again just yet though.

Buh! You can't fire me in the disco, I quit!

  7. I'm almost certain N'Gog is our top scorer this season. Plus, I like him. So you can't have.
  8. If Hodgson were to be sacked, I could see Daglish taking over until the end of the season. Which is something I could bare. Despite winning today, Hodgson has failed, and scraping a 2-1 win over Bolton won't save him. I've always seen Hodgson only lasting at least a season, and being the guy brought in to help supplement the sale of the club. I have no idea who would be a good replacement for him on a full time basis. Perhaps Rafa Benitez.
  9. You Only Move Twice is a beautiful episode. I couldn't agree more with it's placing.
  10. Do you have to abandon the CM game? Just noticed that Spurs, Man City, Villa and Birmingham were the four English teams in the CL in my game after Spurs won the league in 2012/13, City finished runners up and Villa and Birmingham got 3rd and 4th. Villa and Birmingham got to the next round, but the other two failed to progress. However Birmingham are bottom of the Premier League.
  11. Keep hitting return like that and you'll go blind.
  12. It's something they acquired from Germany, if I remember rightly. I remember that is how the German national team was announced at the 2006 World Cup.
  13. Shinnik reached 7th. After a great run in against mainly relegated teams, a draw on the last day stopped us from finishing 6th. Promising for my second season, we could push for promotion.
  14. We're a duo! A duo! A pair of lonely ones who were meant to be a two!

...oh god, what is that from? An American Tail?

  15. Happy Birthday Larry Czonka!

Larry Csonka's the reason for the Miracle at the Meadowlands!

  16. I'm guessing he'll be back in the Premier League before too long.
  17. He's 4000 years old. It's about time he retired! Interesting to see Killian Brennan linked with an MLS move. He seems a fairly good League of Ireland player. Certainly if FM tells me anything about him.
  18. I attempted to play the Russian league once. It seemed more restricting than the MLS. I've seen you mention you've done MLS games. Is it a pain in the ass? Or did I just not give the Russian league much of a chance? I don't know what the Russian Premier League is like, but the Russian First Division the only restriction is what I mentioned in my post. The MLS, once you get used to it, it's not that bad. It's basically the draft that throws people off I think. But you can operate transfers the usual way as well, as well as trade draft slots and players. Plus you can attract pretty good players to your club with the DP slot. EDIT: Brought in a rake of new players. Including a new striker from Torpedo Moscow (I didn't realize they had fallen so low in Russian football). As well as a Nigerian who looks to be a great signing if I can get his woeful finishing up a bit higher than 5. We're now slowly climbing the league.
  19. Managing in Russia reminds me of the time I managed in the J-League way back on CM03/04. The names are quite confusing but the team names are kinda awesome. Although this only three foreigners in your first 11 rule is kinda annoying.
  20. Nevermind that they've had about 50 injuries this season, either.
  21. I lasted a mere 4 months at Shels due to the fact by the time pre-season was over, I got kinda bored of them and resigned after losing the first game of the new Premier Division season to Cork City FORAS. Now I have landed at Shinnik in Russia, I am currently looking at a Ukranian goalie simply because he has 20 in penalty taking. Shinnik are underperforming in the the fantastically named Pervyj Divizion!
  22. So he saved a penalty from Ashley Young once. I see.
