  1. Saw this on a blog The "worst Manchester United side in years" : 1. Won the league by 9 points 2. Contains the Premier League’s top scorer (21). 3. Enjoyed the best home form in Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign, winning 18 and drawing 1. 4. Picked up more points than the Treble winning side of 1999. 5. Booked a place in the European Cup final. 6. Contains the player with the most Premier League assists (18). 7. Lost 4 games, which was at least 4 games less than any other club. 8. Scored more goals than any other club (78). 9. Failed to score in just 5 games, which was less than any other club.
  2. So a season where I planned on just steadying the sinking ship that was Manchester United post administration ended up with me doing the treble!(League Cup,Europa League,Premiership) I wasn't really even paying attention to the league we lost to Liverpool,Arsenal,Chelsea,City early on in the season and I had given up hope when Rooney finally decided to step up and start scoring, We went on a fantastic 14 match winning streak, Bale came back from a broken ankle and although it was hard to drop Ravel Morrison Bale kicked things off with a hat trick against Spurs and retained his starting spot. We stormed to the top of the league and were tied on points with Liverpool and one point ahead of Man City, Liverpool had a better goal difference but slipped up against Arsenal it was time to capitalize as we had an easy run of games(Burnley,Blackburn,West Brom). I made the mistake of thinking the job was done and we blew it against Burnley drawing 1-1 before going down 1-0 to Blackburn, so the final day of the season saw Liverpool going away to Bristol,City playing Wolves at home and us in the late kick off against West Brom. Relegated Brisotl shocked everyone with a 3-0 win over Liverpool(Marvin Elliot!) and City beat Wolves 2-0, so if I blew it against West Brom Man City would win the league, 18 goal strikre Benat Gomez went down injured in the first half before Jose Enrique got sent off...I had pretty much given up as Hernandez who was on a 2 month long goal drought came on but he ended up scoring a hat trick and captain 34 year old Nemanja Vidic hit a trademark diving header to win us the league! :w00t: Carling Cup and Europa were a bit more straight forward, went all out to try to win the league cup and easily dispatched off West Ham in the final whilst it was a mixture of fringe players and first teamers that did the job in the Europa League, beat Marseille in the final after a late Rooney goal.
  3. His girlfriends based out of America no? could be a possibility. I hope he sticks around in the Premier League though, he's one of my favorite players and sure he only gave us one season where he was fit but he was key to winning the Champions League and Premier League and for that he'll always have the fans respect I'd like Blackpool and Blackburn to stay up but then again I want Berbatov to smash Blackpool.
  4. Bit of a mixture of old and new, would be pretty sweet to see this team with all at their prime: GK: Van Der Sar DL: Roberto Carlos DC: Rio Ferdinand DC: Nemanja Vidic DR: Dani Alves DMC: Roy Keane MR: Cristiano Ronaldo ML: Ryan Giggs AMC: Zinedine Zidane ST: Ruud Van Nisterlrooy
  5. No arguments that's a hell of a team!
  6. I can't think of a better tutor for strikers then Michael Owen, It wasn't a co-incidence that Rooney's positioning improved so much after Owen came to the club and he's an awesome person for the likes of Macheda and Welbeck to learn from but yeah he's still capable of goal scoring and if he's fit a goal shy team like Wigan should snap him up.
  7. Finished the campaign mode on Call Of Duty: Black Ops, fun stuff and I enjoyed the story...really dug the level I think in Russia where you have to jump from rooftop to rooftop amidst the rain. Just a bit of FM with a declining Man Utd side in 2015...it's exam month so I am resisting the urge to start playing my 360. Gaming List over the summer: LA Noire Mortal Kombat Splinter Cell Conviction Duke Nukem Is Alan Wake worth finishing? I did the first few missions and it seemed alright but it just didn't hook me in.
  8. To just show how much United's stock has fallen, beating Middlesborough 2-0 at home was considered a shock victory! My first game was a Manchester derby at Eastlands which I drew 0-0 followed by a 3-1 mauling at the hands of Arsenal however I started picking up the wins from that point on, beating Boro 2-0 before beating Derby 1-0 and dispatching of Portsmouth in the Carling Cup and Rubin in the Europa League Group Stage, also won the European Super Cup against Real(United won the Europa League last season) after a Rooney hat trick although Ronaldo came on and scored two in 4 minutes for a nervous ending. Added Jose Enrique and Steven N'Zonzi to bolster the side
  9. The Blackpool match could be the last time Wes Brown,Van Der Sar and Paul Scholes play a Premier League game at Old Trafford, hope they all get a great ovation
  10. As mentioned earlier the Premier League has been turned on it's head with Man United and Chelsea reduced to mid-table teams, my just promoted Bolton team finished the season higher then United who also had 9 points docked due to going into administration. They sacked Tony Mowbray in January and then sacked Mike Phelan at the end of the season before I ended up with the job, I shipped A LOT of un-needed highly paid players out and to coax me into the job they signed Gareth Bale and Phil Jones a day before offering it to me!. Current Line Up: Goalie: Rene Adler(14 million signing- all this time United have been playing Kuszack and Amos) DR: Rafael Da Silva DL: Ivan Marcano(Seems a solid utility player of the John O'Shea/Wes Brown mould...need to buy in January) DC: Nemanja Vidic(Captain and although he's getting on in terms of age still one of the worlds best) DC: Phil Jones(Just signed) DMC: Darren Fletcher MC: Anderson MC: Barry Visser(Dutch regen, good passer of the ball...Xabi Alonso type of player) AML: Gareth Bale AMR: Nani ST: Javier Hernandez I have still got Rooney,Macheda and O'Shea but Hernandez seems to be the clubs best player and I'll be trying to get the most out of him. Squads certainly low on numbers and I'll be focusing on bringing through some youth, after a 9th placed finish they want me to make a title challenge this year and hopefully I can deliver.
  11. Absolutely over the moon, amazing feeling. It won't be easy for Blackpool even if United play a "weakened" side, we'll probably see The Da Silva Twins,Fletcher,Berbatov,Owen and Scholes playing. A small part of me does want them to stay up they are ridiculously entertaining, is there anyway they can stay up even if they lose at Old Trafford?
  12. Carroll,Welbeck,Sturridge is a pretty sweet strike force.
  13. I actually thought this was a diary in the Cube when I started reading before realizing it's in the Sports Section ^_^ Was it England-Sweden in the semis last year? With Hart taking the bad ass penalty kick? had that match on my computer up until a few weeks ago, great watch. Should be an interesting tournament both England and Spain have some big names representing but I am predicting a Denmark win.
  14. Yeah it became pretty apparent towards the end of his United run that Ben Foster was a knobhead, he's an alright keeper but I wouldn't trust him in a major tournament
  15. GK:Van Der Sar RB:? LB:Evra CB:Rio CB:Vidic LW:Park RW:Valencia CM:Giggs CM:Carrick CF:Rooney CF:Hernandez I am certain that this is the line-up that's going to face Barcelona which sadly means Darren Fletcher again misses out, poor guy...not sure whose going to get the nod at right back O'Shea certainly has the experience but Sir Alex seems to be giving Fabio a real go recently and he might be a shock inclusion
  16. Got Bolton promoted to what is a very different Premier League in 2014. The reigning champions are Sunderland, the top 4 has been broken after last year's finish of Sunderland,Spurs,Everton,City. Chelsea have sacked manager after manager and have a very imbalanced team while United despite a strong squad can't seem to finish above 5th.
  17. Are Emergency Loan deals allowed for keepers only?
  18. Way to help the image of you being a plastic fan. He was moved onto CSKA Moscow
  19. I don't know how much of this run-in I can take, I actually just stopped watching and looked out of the window when Spurs were 3-1 down and when I came back it was 3-3 and i couldn't believe my eyes. United-Everton is going to be huge, United away at the Emirates is going to be just crazy pressure..and then Chelsea at home to come as well. EDIT: Also agree 100% with Hamster, Chelsea know how to win titles and people like Lampard and Terry are crucial for a title run-in not having strong characters in the team is what's done Arsenal in.
  20. I have never actually managed to break the SPL Dominance, I won the UEFA Cup with Aberdeen on FM 07 but still managed to get murdered in the league by the Old Firm. Going to give it a shot now, what would be a good team to play as?
  21. Everton match just became huge, good thing it's at Old Trafford and hopefully we have Darren Fletcher back we could use his energy in midfield.
  22. Seriously how the hell did you manage to get 9th in the SPL with Rangers?
  23. 1. Hwaorang(those fucking kicks bah gawd!, so easy to use and so effective) 2. Jin(From Tekken, he was the first person I beat the game with) 3.Raiden(Mortal Kombat 4- I spammed the shit out of that charging electric thing when i used to play this on my Dad's PC back in the day) 4. Sub-Zero(Always liked him more than Scorpion, his fatalities are immense too) 5. Deadpool(Marvel vs Capcom, the dialogue is amazing and as is the move where he grabs the health bar and beats people up with it) 6. Haggar(Marvel vs Capcom/Final Fight) 7. Zangief(Street Fighter) 8. Dhalsim(Street Fighter) 9. Goku(Dragon Ball Z- Spirit Bomb= gameover) 10. Sabretooth(X-Men Mutant Academy)
