  1. On the last episode of Daredevil, just gotta say that Vincent D'Onofrio is just awesome as Kingpin. I loved him in Law & Order, but I never thought he could have pulled off Kingpin. I think this is seriously my favorite comic book show going on right now, as much as a I love Arrow and The Flash, Daredevil has just been amazing.

  2. I'm not convinced that Malkin is all that injured. He's shown that he's able to pick up his game. He just seems to do it when it's too late. He reminds me a lot of a guy like Alexei Yashin. All the talent in the world but plays very lazy a lot of the time.

He's been able to pick it up a bit, but you can tell he's playing through something. He was hurt a few times before the season ended and rushed back to push them for the playoffs, but just looking at him you can tell he's playing through injuries, just like Crosby a year ago.

  3. Malkin played badly cause he's obviously injured. Fleury was amazing, shame his best playoff performance in years was with a team missing five of their top six defensemen. And I doubt many teams would have found a way to win without five of their top five defensemen.

Ugh can't believe the Pens wasted a first round pick on Perron cause he's been horrible outside his first few games with the Penguins.

  4. It was not my night in the hockey world tonight. I expected the Habs to take out Ottawa and was hoping that the Pens could tie the series. Neither happened. I fear the Pens are done for this year.

I unfortunately think they are. Three of the top defensemen are out, Malkin is obviously hurt, Dupuis is also out, Crosby's line can only do so much. It's a shame cause MJ has been a good coach in this series and MAF has been amazing, and if healthy, I truly think they would be beating the Rangers.
  5. Pens tie the series up! Excellent game from them, but geez, the officiating is just downright horrible in this series. Pittsburgh definitely deserved their penalties, but the Rangers seem to get away with a ton of shit.

I think the issue is Penguins are spending some much time on the PK, they're not getting a lot of chances for the Rangers to take penalties...which actually might be better because every time Rangers get some momentum they end up with a power play that completely takes all their momentum away. With that said, the Penguins did score 2 powerplay goals on very questionable penalties, especially the one where a player was tripped by a ghost.
Yeah, that tripping penalty was ridiculous, gotta agree there. I wouldn't worry about the Rangers PP, it seemed dead for the first five games against the Pens last year, and then it came back to win them some games.

As for penalties not being called, Haglin pretty much running over Crosby with a shot to the head should have been called.

  6. Pens transition game sucks tonight. They just feel so sluggish compared to what they were a couple years ago. It's like it takes them two or three more moves to get it out of their zone when it used to be so smooth.

They're definitely missing Letang. They were just horrible in the first, been much better since then, but definitely nothing special.

I don't know why the game plan wasn't just to come out and play hard. Rangers are one of the few teams that don't really engage in trash talking...well, since Avery left. I'm sure their mindset changed a bit after the first goal was scored so early, but they played a first period where they could have been penalized even more.
They were definitely on their heels after that first goal. I was honestly expecting a blow out once all the penalties started, but the PK and Fleury definitely did a good job.

They need to come out for game two like they came out for the last two periods. Not expecting a series win here considering how depleted this team is on defense, but they can still atleast force six games.
