  1. I was getting flashbacks to 2014 when the Rangers were up 2-1, but I am so glad the Pens didn't let up and ran right through them. Hell of a win. I think we'll get the Caps too, but I honestly was fearing the Rangers and Lundqvist more than the Caps. It'll definitely be a tighter series, but I think Pittsburgh wins it. Just worried about them making it out injury free.

Caps can't possibly blow 2 more games. Last night was such a fluke, Philly was in a defensive shell for 30 minutes! It was one of the most ridiculous games I've ever watched, ignoring blocks Washington had 50+ attempts at goal.

And the Flyers had 12, I think? Hell, their first goal was off a Caps defensemen. I honestly don't think the Flyers can win if they play like this, but I would love to see the Caps sweat. Philly scores the first one tomorrow, and I can see the Caps melting down and it going to 7.

  3. Kinda shocked, thought LA would at least go to six. Good for SJ though, after 2014 that had to feel good.

Wild also beat Dallas, that's going to a sixth game too along with the Chicago v St. Louis series.

The Flyers also forced a game six too what the hell? As much as I want the Pens to be the ones to knock off the Caps, I'll get such a thrill watching the Caps blow a 3-0 lead. If the Flyers win game six thanks to goaltending, those Caps fans are gonna be getting memories of Halak before game seven

I feel like the Blues will find a way to lose their series after leading 3-1.  Had a chance to close it out at home yesterday and couldn't get it done.  I can't rule out the Sharks doing the same thing, either.

Not sure if I just automatically associate those two teams with blowing it in the playoffs or if I'm just convinced that the Blackhawks and Kings have magic horseshoes up their asses this time of year.

I kinda do too when it comes to those two teams, but this year I can see St. Louis blowing it but not SJ. I think LA wins game 5 in LA but lose to SJ in game 6.

Would love to see the Caps keep their choker label in the next round though. :lol::lol:

  5. I hope for no game 7, I had Pittsburgh in 6, and if Fleury comes back tonight or Thursday, I still do. But yeah, they need to play how they were playing last month. I thought they weren't that good in the first one, and had a few awful moments in the second game that cost them. Sully's made some adjustments, so hopefully it works out.

As for the Caps, I thought the Flyers would push them to 5 maybe 6 games, but I still think a healthy Pittsburgh can take them.

Here's hoping for a good win tonight and hopefully they play some solid defense and Zatkoff has another good game if Fleury can't play.

  6. Anyone else catch the Flyers game? Jesus Christ, those fans were completely classless. They deserve to be swept in their building after that garbage.

The Flyers were no better either, trying to injure the Capitals players. Not saying the Caps are saints, far from it, but that went way past the line. Brooks Orpik looked scary leaving the ice.

Offsides how? At first I thought the same thing, but it looks like Brass has control of the puck before going offside. I would have been fine if the play was blown dead when it happened,  but on a review, I don't see how that's called offsides.  He knows where the puck is going and gets control before going offside.

I'd also be ok with turning that rule into offside is offside, regardless of control.

I thought it was when I watched it, but after seeing a few clips online, it was a good goal. I would rather they not blow it dead, happens way too many times where they blow a play dead when it wasn't offsides.

Looks like Sully is moving Malkin back to center and swapping Maatta for Schultz. Unfortunately, Fleury is still day to day. Really sucks if Pens lose this due to the two goalies both getting hurt at the end of the season. :crying:

I blame Malkin. He comes back and the Pen's have a horrible game. He even played well but I kind of agree with people in that he seems to be messing with the chemistry that the team had while he was away. Maybe people will join me in my trade Malkin wishes this year.

That game was all Cole, Maatta and Daley having horrible games imo. Malkin looked good, especially on the PP, but Sully needs to get him his own line. He plays well with Sid, but he is better used at center. If needed, double shift him with Sid a few times, but he's either gotta be in the second line again or play with someone like Rust or Sheary on another line.

I'm glad there's a 3 day break in between games right now, maybe MAF or Murray can come in. But defense has to play much better, dunno if he's still hurt, but Maatta has to sit, he looks super slow out there.

  9. Hopefully Pittsburgh got their one bad game out of the way, that second period sucked, though, the Rangers second goal was offsides. Maatta looked bad, Sully needs to put Schultz back in, and hopefully MAF is back in on Tuesday. Not that I blame Zatkoff on any of the goals, but Fleury can steal a game or two.

  10. I feel the same way, Caps look great on paper, but I think Pittsburgh can take them, especially with Fleury and Malkin returning. I'm hoping for a tough series against Philly for them, and at some point Holty has to break, right? I mean, guy played like what, 70 games?

And oh yeah, Caps are chokers :shifty:

  11. As long as he's healed, he should be productive. Last year he slumped cause he came back too soon and was nowhere near 100%. I just wanna see where they slot him in.

Couturier is out for Philly, they're definitely in trouble now, I had this series going to six, but I think the Caps win it in five now. Philly has to at least get one in Philly right? Just hope all the games are as psychical as game one, let the Caps be worn down against the Pens. :shifty:

You start Zatkoff - it's probably a 4-1 series win for the Pens.  Haven't you heard about the Rangers making backups look like franchise starting goalie?

Pens have done that a few times as well. Saw some news that Malkin is on the ice practicing, and looking good, so I'm somewhat optimistic and seeing him at some point in round one.

I hope you go to hell. :P

So Pens play Rangers, and I hope that we make Lundqvist throw his net again.

Hoping for good news on Murray tomorrow and Fleury too, cause if Zatkoff starts, it's a round 1 loss. Sully should have really rested Murray yesterday and let Zatkoff have started.

I was really hoping Rangers would take the loss and play Florida, or the Islanders would win both games giving them the same matchup. Not really looking forward to playing a Hot Penguins team right now, especially with McDonagh having a broken Hand, and Girardi/Zucc questionable.  I can see it now, Hagelin scores the playoff winning goal to eliminate the Rangers... That would be our luck.

Even with the injuries the Rangers have, I still worry bout playing them just for Lundqvist. Especially with no Malkin right now. Hopefully MAF is ready to go.

But if the Islanders win tonight then you guys end up with Florida and they get us.
