So it's just one week away from release now in the US, how many are getting it release date? My Gamestop isn't doing a midnight release so I have to wait until 10:00 EST AM to get it, much like I did for GH3. Either way I'm insanely excited for this.

Honestly, the song itself pretty well is depressing either way. It's basically the penultimate "indie guy falls in love with indie girl" story and then we get to Barnes's bouts of depression, the fights, the fact that he probably seriously needed this woman and it's really heartbreaking. And I am scared at some of the parallels (I'm guilty of falling for the cute girl that knows about obscure things, maybe not of the throwing shit at the other person part so much ), but I'm also not as crazed as Mr. Barnes...I think. >_> The lyrics were always depressing, but the overall sound of the song wasn't as sad as the acoustic version seems to make it. Plus that is one of the few bare-bones acoustic songs that I can sit down and listen to for 11 minutes. So for those who have listened to Hissing Fauna and Skeletal Lamping a hefty amount of times, which one do you think you like better? I'm still torn between the two right now, but they're definitely the top two in terms of Of Montreal albums for me.

That's great, especially because that song is such a blatant Prince homage and I love it. I can see myself falling in love with this album, once I've had chance to immerse myself in it - it's absolutely brilliant, without a doubt, but I haven't had chance to find any tracks I absolutely adore, or any lyrics to obsess over - although "I can do it softcore it you want, but you know I do it both ways" has been stuck in my head all night. I'd love to hear The Past Is A Grotesque Animal acoustic, it's my favourite Of Montreal track, I try and throw it into DJ sets whenever I can - it was probably the best closing song I've ever played, went down brilliantly, even though no one there had ever heard it before. That was love. Enjoy it. Yeah, the first time I listened to Skeletal Lamping I had to listen again because I wasn't quite sure of what I had just heard. Each song has so much going on in it that it's almost as if they feel like they should each be separate songs. Either way I can find myself growing very very fond of this album as I continue to listen to it more and more. So far I've found that Plastis Wafers, St. Exquisites Confessions, and Wicked Wisdom are prominent tracks that stick out on the album to me for one reason or another.

Don't forget "I'm so sick of sucking the dick of this cruel, cruel city." It seems like they get more and more outwardly sexual with each album. Either way Skeletal Lamping is a phenomenal album and has been getting a lot of listens since it came out. On the topic of Of Montreal has anybody seen The Past Is A Grotesque Animal done acoustic? It really points out how completely depressing the song is.

Yeah, The Glass Passenger was a bit of a let down and I find myself only really enjoying a few of the songs as much as I did all of them on Everything in Transit. Maybe it's because I'm still holding off for a Something Corporate reunion Off-topic though, I'm probably going to see NIN with a couple of friends in November in Greensboro. I haven't listened to much NIN aside from Year Zero, so can anybody recommend where to start with it. And an even different topic, I saw a band called All Get Out this weekend at a local venue and they're fucking awesome. I gave it a 7/10 too. It was a really enjoyable movie, I originally didn't have high expectations for it and expected it to be another typical "I'm trying to be indie" movie. I saw it because I have a man-crush on Michael Cera and left the theatres completely surprised that it was as good as it was.

I knew EWB loved Gaslight Anthem, but god damn. I didn't expect Muse to be number 1 either I had just assumed The Beatles would get it. I loved the entire top 20 though so I'm completely fine with it.

I listened to "Round Here" by Counting Crows today for the first time in years. I'm beyond sad now

They are releasing a new guitar. It has the "slide" feature which is very similar to the solo buttons on RB, but this acts as a slide where you just have to slide your finger up and down it.

"Jesus Christ" is a depressing song, but I'd also say that they aren't really a depressing band. Especially Deja Entendu. Maybe "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot" but even then it's not something that I'd equate as depressing as compared to stuff like Elliot Smith. Some old Bright Eyes stuff works too. I'll also echo the Radiohead sentiments.

So I just pre-ordered this, it's coming out in North America on the 26th of October. Before then I'm also getting a 12 Month for XBL again so I'm going to need somebody to play GH4 with, so how many people intend on getting this when it comes out.

Needle In The Hay by Elliot Smith. Hearing that song just ruins my day

The new Decemberist EP leaked, I haven't gotten the chance to listen to it, but I've heard one song "Valerie Plame" before and I enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully the album they put out next year keeps up with the quality of their past few because I can't point out one of their albums that I dislike.

Didn't intend on the double post, but how do you guys get out of a writers block? It seems like everything I write lately is just something that I can't enjoy enough to put out there and nowhere near the level of the songs I've written before. So how would you recommend to get out of a writers block?

Then somebody should recommend me books anyways because Outlaw Bible... isn't in my local bookstores and if I got it online won't ship for another few days and I want something to read
