  1. Finally saw it Christmas night, well worth the wait

    Spoiler

I liked how they built up all the new characters early on and built to the returning Han & Chewie, Leia, C-3PO and R2D2 and finally Luke at the end.

Definitely disappointed that Han died, but Harrison Ford has wanted that for a long time and he's already 73, so I can understand not wanting to stick around for more films over the next 5 years. My heart was racing leading up to the moment when Kylo stabbed him, I could just tell that wasn't going to end well ("I've got a bad feeling about this") and Chewie's sad growl after it happened broke my heart. Han Solo was the original anti-hero in a lot of ways, he was just such a cool character and the prequels suffered from not having a character like Han in them, though Obi Wan had some good one-liners every now and then.

Definitely want to see this again soon. This is the Star Wars we wanted back in 1999, And definitely eager to see Episode VIII and Episode IX to see how this all turns out.

So, I've started watching Cheers and the first few episodes have been fun! Coach is epic so far. Anyone else has seen Cheers?

Yeah, I honestly have watched the first couple episodes and maybe the one Thanksgiving episode a few seasons in, but then I skip to around Season 6 onward. Just something about Diane irks me. Its not even Shelley Long, I've enjoyed her in other roles, but Diane Chambers is just an irritating, pretentious character so I've never really gotten into Seasons 1-5 much. Coach is great from what I've seen of him, so is everyone else really, and I get a kick out of it anytime they rag on Diane in later seasons. But while most shows I skip the later seasons, Cheers was just the opposite for me.

I think I'm really going to dig John Noble on Elementary this season. Perfectly fine season premiere, by the way. I'd call it a solid B+.

Elementary's season premiere was the Daniel Bryan of season premieres? Does that mean it'll go on an indefinite hiatus as soon as it starts gaining momentum?

  4. Always a fan of his work, the first Nightmare of Elm Street, Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and New Nightmare are my favorites of the series and no coincidence that he played a big part in that and Scream picked up where New Nightmare left off in reinventing the genre. And that's not to discount some of his other work either like The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left. I didn't know he directed Red Eye either until just reading it now, enjoyed that as well.

Often imitated, never duplicated, he was definitely a pioneer and his influence will certainly be missed.

  5. Was The Oeder Games the season finale of Bob's Burgers? I had it down for 22 episodes but that only makes 21 and nothing else seems to have aired.

Ep3 of Wayward Pines is best so far. An hour a week during TV's quiet time seems fair to give it a chance. I'm in.

I think Bob's Burgers aired two new episodes in the same night (one before the Simpsons and one after Family Guy), did you miss either one of those?

  6. Community Season 6 finale was both hilarious and heartwarming at the same time. Each season it seems like the next season is up in the air, so you never know if the season finale will end up being the series finale and without giving much away, this definitely left it as open-ended as ever, they could end it here and it'd make sense, but I pray they will continue with another season on Yahoo or whoever else wants to host them, and we of course need the movie now. I just love this show so much.

  7. This episode was so amazing I didn't even notice until afterwards that Abed didn't appear on screen once I don't think. The entire cast is incredible, but Chang has really stolen the show a lot of times over this season, I hope if there's a season 7 (fingers crossed), he's still a part of it since Ken Jeong has his own show coming on ABC this fall. Also heard a while back Danny Pudi was developing a show for NBC, so hope they don't lose him either. I mean Community has only been 13 episodes a season for a while now, so hopefully it wouldn't cause too many scheduling conflicts, but the show has developed a second life this year, I don't want it to end anytime soon if we can keep getting A+ material like this all the time.

  8. Plus, the Late Show usually taped Friday shows ahead of time, sometimes even taping them on Mondays, though they switched that to Thursdays more recently, and just avoided using date-specific topics in the monologue/segments, so its not a big surprise they didn't end on a Friday, just like Johnny Carson usually didn't work Mondays and had a guest host on those nights.
