  1. Yeah, will definitely be tuning in. Dave's been on the air just about the same amount of time as I've been alive, in fact his short-lived morning show was cancelled on October 24, 1980, exactly one year to the day before I was born and his final show today is the same as my dad's birthday. Plus there's the whole Indiana connection, probably won't be another Hoosier with that much influence on national television for some time. I don't pretend to be his biggest supporter, but I always preferred him over Leno and I respect all that he has done. Just like Johnny Carson influenced comedians of Letterman's generation, Letterman had a profound impact on a lot of this generation's comedians. Yeah, he hasn't been as cutting edge as he was in the 80's and 90's, but this is still a milestone event in television that can't be missed. Even for shows I never watched or haven't tuned in to for years, I always try to watch the final episode of a show if possible, if its been running long enough and has been hyped up well enough just for the whole sentiment of it all. Dave is the last connection to a bygone era in a lot of ways. After tonight, the last late night host left from the 80's will be finished, leaving Conan O'Brien and Jon Stewart as the longest running talk show hosts, until Stewart himself retires later this year. This decade has been a period of transition in late night TV and tonight represents one the last changing of the guard moments. I'll be glued to my TV for the entire hour-plus until Dave signs off for good.

  2. This week's episode, major spoiler if you haven't watched it:

WHAT THE FUCK. I doubt Andre Braugher is leaving, but he better fucking not be leaving :(

Curious to see who's going to play the new captain, if it's an old face or a new one. Maybe the Vulture? More Dean Winters would be fun, I guess.

He's not leaving, just read an article with the show-runner and he will be in the Season 3 opener and beyond, just won't be in the precinct per se for a little while. They haven't even decided themselves who the new captain will be.

  3. Alright, I'll say it: Super Mario Bros. yeah its not anything extraordinary by any rights, a British and a Latino actor playing two Italian plumbers, but I thought it was pretty fun when I first saw it. They could do probably do a better job with all the CGI today and all, but for 1993 or whenever it was, I enjoyed it.

  4. LaMotta went 14–0–1 (3 KOs) as a middleweight in his first fifteen bouts before losing a highly controversial split decision to Jimmy Reeves in Reeves' hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Chaos erupted after the decision was announced. Fights broke out around the ring and the crowd continued to boo for 20 minutes. The arena's organist tried to calm down the crowd by playing the "Star Spangled Banner".

That's boxing. They tried to calm everybody down with the Star Spangled Banner. I want to die and be re-born in the 1940s.

Yeah, nowadays playing the Star Spangled Banner would probably just offend somebody.

  5. Is Floyd retiring in September? How can you stop at 49 wins when 50 is such a nice round number!

49-0 is also the record of Rocky Marciano so it holds some historical significance, but yeah 50 would be a better place to stop, though I'd rather see it Mayweather end at 48-1 just cause.

  6. "Haaaaaaaaaaaaam giiiiirrrrrrrrrrllllll!"

    "Yooba dooba dooba"

Community makes me break into hysterics with every passing week. The movie was amazingly bad and incredible at the same time as has been said. Cutting in the scenes of Chang throughout just took it to another level.

Just an outstanding season all around and yes Alison Brie the best everything, she can be my pleasure droid/assassin anytime.

  7. Because it was an unnecessary death. I don't pretend to be an expert on Grey's Anatomy, but I've seen enough episodes to know enough about the Mer-Der romance. What's wrong with him leaving to go somewhere else? It at least leaves the option open for him to come back for the eventual series finale to give a happily ever after story to the couple the show has been built around for 11 years. It worked when George Clooney left ER, then Doug Ross reunited with Carol Hathaway when Julianna Margulies left a couple years later. Now Meredith raises kids alone, or gets together with some new guy and there's not that deep emotional connection her and the audience had with Derek all this time. Not every show nowadays needs a tragedy to surround one or more of the center characters to make it more "real". It just feels like it was sacrificing a long story arc between Meredith and Derek in order to shock the audience for one week.

  8. I loved everything about this week's episode, from Chang's Power Point presentation at the beginning, to the guerrilla marketing throughout for Honda (coincidence that one of the actual commercials was for Honda lol), to the return of Britta's parents, to Billy Zane's awkward disappearing act, it was all hilarious. Damn it Community, stop being so awesome every week.......on second thought, don't stop. You're too incredible, much like a Honda.

  9. I can't wait for the episode where Bob Saget from the future tells his grandkids the story of how he met their dead grandmother but was really interested in Aunt Becky the whole time.

Then by 2030, we'll get a spin-off of this with one of DJ's kids being widowed and having to raise kids as a single parent to make it Fullest House.

Oh and DJ's dead husband's last name should actually be Fuller so the title takes on double meaning.

  10. Damn, I've got all the season DVDs in my collection (plus the two Christmas themed ones and Treehouse of Horror and such). I've kinda run out of room for anymore right now, but still was looking forward to getting more in the future. Seems incomplete that they have Seasons 1-17 and then Season 20 without 18 and 19 getting released. But I guess that's just the way of the world, DVDs will go the way of VHS and so on, but still disappointing to hear.

  11. Truly a legend in front of and behind the camera. When you think of Star Trek, Spock is usually the first one that comes to mind. Also a part of not one, but two memorable Simpsons episodes. He will be missed....unless William Shatner can find a way to bring him back. :(

Live Long and Prosper *Vulcan salute*
