  1. Sunderland had little money to bring in players whist Wigan and Weest Ham did. Seriously, when Sunderland's biggest signing was I think Jon Stead for 1.8m they were always going to struggle but to this degree? I didn't expect this.
  2. That's encouarging about Momo Sissoko. He's been a cracking signing so far.
  3. Some humorous after match stuff too. Mourinho spitting the dummy and showing he still has a stick up his arse about Essien's suspension, Arjen Robben complaining about Messi's actions, Jamie Redknapp deciding that John Terry's flattening of Messi (which was really funny) shouldn't have been a penalty because Terry loves defending. Stuff like this is what football is all about, it gets people talking. Oh, and if the Del Horno and Messi incident had happened in my Sunday League they would have been lucky to have got off the pitch alive. First, for both pussying out of tackling properly and, second, for rolling around like a couple of pansies.
  4. If Real Madrid put Arsenal out now then Arsenal will have done something pretty majorly wrong. I assume Woodgate will be out for Madrid, so Arsenal should score at least a couple in the next game, unless Casillas "does a Lehmann".
  5. Del Horno's reaction was just as laughable. "Ooh, I halfed the boy. I might be in trouble. Think I'll roll around a bit and hope the ref will let me off." Not a good tackle, but never a red though.
  6. Bayern Munich 2 AC Milan 1 Benfica 0 Liverpool 1 PSV 2 Lyon 2 Real Madrid 3 Arsenal 1 Ajax 1 Inter Milan 1 Chelsea 3 Barcelona 1 Rangers 1 Villarreal 0 Werder Bremen 0 Juventus 2
  7. Capello is a great manager/coach, but I suspect he might be joining Madrid in the summer. Most top managers don't want to be an international boss until they near retirement, and I reckon Capello has at least 1 club job left in him.
  8. That was the worst Old Firm match I have seen in a while. Celtic were average at best, Rangers were dreadful.
  9. Sinama-Pongolle is a lively player, always looks likely to make something happen. I'm of the opinion that he'll leave in the summer though, as will Cisse (who'll hopefully have a good World Cup with France so that the club can get most of the £14m back) and Morientes and Crouch will stay.
  10. I'm not entirely sure what your point is. I said we have a problem with our strikers (although if you look at Benitez' teams, goals come from all over the pitch). Earlier in the season we would've won, but we've played nearly twice as many games as everyone else this season (and had to go to Japan), so the players are tired.
  11. Darren Bent has scored 13 league goals this season. Liverpool's 4 strikers (including Sinama-Pongolle, despite him not getting much of a chance) have scored 10 league goals between them. I see Kewell has been out taking a bit of responsibility for not scoring and saying that he and his fellow forwards need to get their act together - that's good to hear, let's hope that the talk becomes action against Wigan on Saturday.
