BAH. I'm not watching this year because Eternal Sunshine deserves much, much better.

EDIT: I will say this, though; if Martin Sorcese wins I'll ALMOST take back my anger, but only a good portion of it.

Actually because they tried to get it on TV Fahrenheit 9/11 couldn't qualify for best doc.

How did Passion of the Christ not get best foreign language nomination?

I think that since to be foreign, it needs to be made by a foreign company for starters, and since both Aramaic and Latin aren't really spoken anywhere in the world anymore, you can't say it was designed for those that speak those languages.

I'm with you on most Laice but I don't think Super Size Me will win best doc, as much as I'd like it to.

I'm guessing Tupac: Resurrection. There's one bullshit choice every year. That's your one

Actually the thing I'm most pissed off about besides Eternal Sunshine being screwed out of Best Picture and Best Directer. Clint Eastwood got a Nomination for Best Actor? Ok I admit the movie was great and he was a great directer....but his acting was hardly Oscar Worthy. How is it Eastwood got the nom but Paul Giamatti and Jim Carrey were not?

First I thought the list was great...but now I know I was wrong, the winners could still be good but Pepsi brings out a good point. Jim Carrey got screwed. Paul Giamatti got screwed, but then someone had to get screwed. Replace Clint and Dicaprio and there you have it. Oh well. Oh, I really wanted Kill Bill Vol. 2 to get recognized. But I'm really glad that Kate Winslet got nominated and hope she pulls out a surprise win(Meaning Annette Benning and Hilary Swank don't win), but theres like a 1% chance that will happen. Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban should win for Best Score. Or else :crying:

Horrible... horrible horrible horrible. So much quality got shafted. I can deal with Kill Bill not getting a nod for best picture... but Uma getting screwed out of Best Actress? Bullshit. Anyway, here's my predictions.

Best Picture

# THE AVIATOR (Miramax)

Didn't see it, doesn't interest me... but I've heard nothing but good things. Eternal Sunshine got ridiculously fucked over.

Achievement in Directing

# Martin Scorsese for THE AVIATOR (Miramax)

Scorsese will take the win, but Payne deserves it.

Best Actor in a Leading Role

# Jamie Foxx for RAY (Universal Pictures)

Don Cheadle deserves it, but I think Foxx or Dicaprio will take it. Nonetheless, Jim Carrey got screwed big time and Giamatti is always underappreciated.

Best Supporting Actor

# Jamie Foxx for COLLATERAL (Dreamworks SKG)

This one's tough. If Foxx wins for Ray, then anyone else could take this. I think Foxx actually deserves it here.

Best Actress in a Leading Role

# Annette Bening - BEING JULIA (Sony Pictures Classics)

This is Uma's award, hands down. But out of the nominees Winslet deserves it.

Best Supporting Actress

# Cate Blanchett for THE AVIATOR (Miramax)

I'd really like to see Natalie Portman take this one though, but I don't see it happening.

Best Original Screenplay

# ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (Focus Features)

You cannot possibly completely fuck over this movie... if it doesn't win here, there is no God... at least when it comes to Oscar picks.

Best Adapted Screenplay

# BEFORE SUNSET (Warner Independent Pictures)

# FINDING NEVERLAND (Miramax)

# MILLION DOLLAR BABY (Warner Bros.)

# THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES (Focus Features)

# SIDEWAYS (Fox Searchlight)

Now this one's tough... I'd probably say it's coming down to Finding Neverland, Million Dollar Baby or Sideways. But too tough for me to make any kind of good guess. Just for shits and giggles, I'll go for Sideways

Best Foreign-Language Film

# AS IT IS IN HEAVEN - Sweden

# THE CHORUS - France

# DOWNFALL - Germany

# THE SEA INSIDE - Spain

# YESTERDAY

No clue, saw none of these

Best Animated Feature Film

# THE INCREDIBLES (Disney/Pixar)

Easy

Achievement in Art Direction

# FINDING NEVERLAND (Miramax)

Could see it going to Phantom though too

Achievement in Cinematography

# HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS (Sony Pictures Classics)

Deserves it

Achievement in Costume Design

# LEMONY SNICKET'S A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (Paramount Pictures)

Best costumes out of any of these nominees.

Best Documentary Feature

# SUPER SIZE ME (Roadside Attractions / Samuel Goldwyn Films)

Best Film Editing

# COLLATERAL

Long shot pick

Achievement in Makeup

# THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (Newmarket Film Group)

Best Original Score

# THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST (Newmarket Film Group)

Now Mel can say "Multi-Oscar Winning Film the Passion"

Original Song

# "Accidentally In Love" - SHREK 2 (Dreamworks SKG)

# "Al Otro Lado Del Río" - THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES (Focus Features)

# "Believe" - THE POLAR EXPRESS (Warner Bros.)

# "Learn To Be Lonely" - THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Warner Bros.)

# "Look To Your Path (Vois Sur Ton Chemin)" - THE CHORUS (Miramax)

Were there really any good songs worth giving an Oscar to?

Achievement in Sound Mixing

# THE INCREDIBLES (Disney/Pixar)

If Ray wins, will it be for their amazing ability to dub Charles' lyrics over Foxx's lips moving?

Achievement in Sound Editing

# THE POLAR EXPRESS (Warner Bros.)

Best Visual Effects

# SPIDER-MAN 2 (Columbia Pictures)

Can't comment on the rest.

# TWIST OF FAITH

Houston, we have a problem.

Did you bother to see it? The film probably got it's nomination off of the hype associated with it, but it's no less deserving. It came off like a rose amongst a year of melodramatic political thorns.

because hes Clint Eastwood. Can't you see that theres politics involved in award shows? Anyway, I thought that Hotel Rwanda should have gotten best picture nom over Ray. Ray was decent, but it was Fozz that drove the movie. And for the record, Cheadle's performance in Hotel Rwanda>Foxx's performance in Ray.

Guest Ringmaster

I'm probably the only person who found Hotel Rwanda dull. And the Best Actor category is just dreadful, as Carey, Giamatti and Neeson didn't get nominated although they had the best performances of the year.
