Meh, not to quibble but I'd hardly call any of those bands "progressive", it's more typical Alt. Rock.

You could try a band called onesidezero, who sound really like Breaking Benjamin but are, IMO, a bit better. Also Finger Eleven have that radio rock sound IMO.

Blind By Noon

Breaking Point

Dark New Day

Depswa

Faktion

Thousand Foot Krutch

Double Driver

Atomship

Edgewater

Endo

Five Bolt Main

Full Devil Jacket

Ra

Instruction

Revis

Scars of Life

Seven Wiser

Sinch

Strata

Switched

A majority, if not all of those bands you would probably be interested in. The main suggestion I'll give you is Atomship, though. They're awesome.

Prog Rock you say? CHECK OUT THE MARS VOLTA!

God I love pimping them out (H)

You could also try YourCodeNameIs:Milo, who're kinda proggy-ish, but a bit more like hardcore/screamo/emo, whatever the fuck you want to call it.

And I guess SiKth would be considered prog-metal? Try them too, if so.

For the prog rock guy, I'd recommend Ayreon's "The Universal Migrator Part 1" and any and all stuff done by Subarachnoid Space, especially the "These Things Take Time"-album. Other more prog metal outfits that could be worth it are Pelican, Isis, Neurosis and Liquid Tension Experiment.

As far as for Livid... You might want to try some European stuff that could be what you are looking for. There's Carnal Forge from Sweden, Cataract from Denmark and Heaven Shall Burn from Germany that could very well be what you want. Also, you could check out It Dies Today from the States, they are a bit more toned down than Forge or HSB, but still good.

I can help you with exactly one of those bands (well, to any great length).....

My Dying Bride:

The Cry Of Mankind

The Light At The End Of The World

My Wine In Silence

Check them out, and if you like, get The Angel And The Dark River, or Songs Of Darkness, Words Of Light albums.

With some of the others....ermm...The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary is good, if its the Cult I'm thinking of.

Paradise Lost...depends if you want to check out thier goth stuff, or thier more "Depeche" stuff. Check out thier old stuff is you like the doom, check out thier newer stuff if you want the more Depeche Mode-esque doom. I can't recommend certain songs, as I'm not 100% sure of any. I prefer thier later stuff, from what I've heard though.

I'm looking for politically driven rap music. I'd prefer normal rap, not rock-rap/rap-metal.
