The Dukes of Hazzard movie is terrible. Looks nothing at all like the tv show. Boss Hogg was short and fat. Burt Reynolds is not that. Daisy Duke was not a slut like the way Jessica Simpson portrays her. It probably doesn't matter much as most teens that that are going to see the movie have probably never seen the show.

Yea, most likely not. The thing is, you don't need to stick to the movie exactly to do a remake. I'm not sticking up for the movie though, as it does look shitty.

It is being shown on CMT and Spike TV but not TV Land that I am aware of.

CMT shows it as well, but anyways, I was just asking him how it ruined the show if the original is still available. As he said, older fans might not want to watch it, but younger people just may. And when they do, they might look into the older series and start watching it to, but the DVD sets, etc. It's win-win, some people will enjoy the new one, some the old ones, some might enjoy both.

Ruining a good show? Hardly. I've seen a fair few episodes, and they're good for a few laughs, but it's hardly TV Gold. I saw the Trailer last week when I went to see Wedding Crashers, it looks alright.

Willie Nelson looks to be a fine bit of casting, but Jessica Simpson's an awful choice for Daisy. Daisy's supposed to be the clean-cut, quite homely but cute girl-next-door type, not the Hollywood slut. Johnny Knoxville I'm on the fence about, I'm not too happy about Sean William-Scott, but he seems to be the go-to guy for this kind of thing.

I'm a huge fan of the original series, and this doesn't look to do it justice, but I guess these things happen. I suppose it's just a modern re-telling of Dukes Of Hazzard.

As long as they don't do a shoddy A-Team remake, I'm happy. Ish.

this has had me pissed off for awhile. I own all of the dvds so far because my entire family is a huge Dukes fan and we refuse to see this movie. Willie Nelson isn't a good Uncle Jessie..Uncle Jessie wasn't skinny as a twig..they need to give him a fat suit or something to make him look at least similiar. Same with Boss Hog..hell John Goodman could have been a better boss hog than Reynold. Im fine with Sean William Scott, but instead of Knoxville I think Kutcher would have been a great choice him or Paul Walker. Jessica Simpson as Daisy Duke just kills the entire movie..first off she isn't a blonde..2nd daisy wasn't a freakin slut. I'm going to wait till this comes out on dvd then rent it if I feel like it. I'd rather stick to my old dvds.

I can't believe half of you guys. If you've noticed by the portrayals of movies like S.W.A.T., Hollywood is never totally faithful to the shows so I don't know why'd you expect this would be any different. And in the case of S.W.A.T. as well, it was still rather kick ass.

If it's more of the show parody type of movies like Starsky and Hutch, it'll be good. Plus, I can support anyone casting Burt Reynolds. (Y)

Willie Nelson's not as thin as you'd think he is. I think he's the perfect person for the role. Also links in somewhat to the series as Willie's buddy the late Waylon Jennings sang the theme tune didn't he?

Yes, that's right, Daisy wasn't a slut, yet she wore shorts so short that they were nicknamed the 'Daisy Dukes' (I believe that was the name). This makes me laugh when former cast members (Cooter) whine about how it was a "family show" yet they made a point to put her in revealing clothes and use her attractiveness. You people are acting as if Daisy wore baggy clothes and was uglier than hell in the show, and that's nowhere near the case.

This movie more than likely will suck, if for no other reason than they made a point to get a "name" star for every part...not a good sign considering the horrible movies that have been made using this method. To make matters worse most of them can't act for shit (Simpson, Knoxville, etc.). I really have no hope for this movie.
