NWATNA: On The Road

Someone needs to totally get into Killings's gear and put a Buckwheat wig in amongst his stuff. It is the Halloween show, after all....

Hopefully Sting won't get mad when Corino beats him to keep the title. I'm serious, you write Corino so damn well that he should be a career-long champion here. I doubt Sting has creative control though, so everything should work out niiiiice.

I don't see Kendrick beating Shamrock, but unless Kenny is a tweener I don't see the match with Corino working out well at all. He's been pretty solid in the heel role, and a heel vs heel wouldn't do very well. Unless, of course, someone comes along and inserts their nose into the match, like Lynn. That would work alright.

And finally, is it just me or does Shane Douglas saying "no more cliques" seem just so insanely appropriate?

I do believe that was the point with that line from Shane. He's taking those subtle shots at The Kliq and the WWE in it's entirety, and being a Douglas mark, I'm loving that part of it all.

Not looking forward to the Kendrick/Shamrock match. Shamrock is coming out on top thanks to Buckwheat I believe..but I don't know in the long run.

And I second the career long title run for Corino. Now I gotta make a banner that says "VOTE CORINO"

Long time reader, first time replier.

Anyway, the whole "Buckwheat" situation has got me interested. It could just result in Killings cutting loose and 'shooting', claiming to be "The Truth".

I really, really want Kendrick to win, I just mark for the dude. Sorry, but his rap battle with John Cena in 2003 has me laughing out loud to this day. But his matches are great aswell, so he's got a full package. However, it's Shamrock who is notorious for no selling on EWR games, due to his stats.

Corino is a good choice, but since it was The Anniversary Show, I'd expect a champion to win, like Wrestlemania. But anyway, Devil's night looks really good.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, the "cliques" line was intentional for what should be obvious reasons. Anyway, I apologize if updates aren't as frequent in the coming week or two but I've got several other things going on that take a bit of precedence... even if this is more fun. :( Enjoy the show.

Dangerous Details: Devils' Night

By "Danger" Will Riker

"Ladies and gentlemen... welcome to Honky Talk!" The Honky Tonk Man said at the start of the show, even preceeding the traditional welcome from Mike Tenay and Don West, "My guest this week needs no introduction... but I'm givin' him one anyway! He's the man! He's the myth! He's the legend in his own time! And yes, folks... he IS the brand spankin' new NWA World Champion! He is the one, the only... Steve Corino!"

Corino's music hit and he made his grand debut, walking to the ring in a suit with the NWA World Title draped over his shoulder. He held it tightly with both arms across his chest. Across his forehead, a large bandage hid the laceration reopened seven days prior in the title match. Corino strode to the ring and climbed inside, then held up the title for all to see.

"Welcome to the show, baby!" HTM said, "I know everyone here in NWATNA has been waiting to get the first comment from you. Of course, ol' Honky had to beat 'em to it. Thanks for bein' here. Thank you... thank you very much. Normally, I'd ask a bunch of questions of you, but right now... only one comes to mind. You did it, baby! You're the champ! Tell me... what's next for Steve Corino?" Having asked his questions, HTM passed the microphone over while the crowd started a loud "Sting" chant.

"Who?" Corino said arrogantly, dismissing the chant, "First off, it's a pleasure to be here... as the NEW champion of the world. Since my first night here in NWATNA, I've dreamt of this moment. It's just too bad it had to happen... here." Corino's attempt at shifting the Sting chants to boos worked like a charm as the Nuevo Laredo crowd let him have it.

"First thing's first," Corino said, "Dan Severn, you were a hell of a competitor. You had me at the end of my rope more than once last week. HOWEVER... I don't need to say it again, Dan. When it comes down to it, when it matters most, when the belt is on the line... there isn't a man on this planet that can beat me. Not one." Corino smiled smugly as the Sting chants picked back up.

"As for your question," Corino said, turning to HTM, "It's simple. When you're the NWA Champion, when you've got the gold around your waist... what's the only thing better? What's the only thing better than having gold? Simple. MORE gold! I don't think people understood what I meant when I said The Extreme Horsemen were going to reestablish dominance over the NWA. This NWA Title was just the beginning. Tonight, we continue on our path... our destiny. 'The Enforcer' C.W. Anderson and myself will qualify for the Iron Team Challenge tonight and in three weeks... those belts are coming home too!"

"Corino and Anderson in the Iron Team Challenge?" Don West said, "What the hell is it going to take to satisfy this guy?! He's already got the most important championship in all of wrestling. Now he wants more? Who's going to be able to stop him from completely taking over?" Corino handed HTM back the microphone and made his exit, officially ending this week's episode of Honky Talk.

"They've got to qualify first, Don," Tenay said, "So far, we've seen four teams secure spots in the ITC. Sonny Siaki & Jorge Estrada, Michael Shane & Codekill, Cade & Hope and the team of Trent Acid and Jayson Reign, Acid Reign. Our fifth qualifying match is just moments away! Two of Mexico's finest teams have crossed the border and will make their NWATNA debuts! Right now, let's send it backstage to Eric Shaffer who's with The Amazing Red. Eric?"

"Thanks, Mike," Shaffer said from backstage, "Red, last week you left the ring during your match with... hey!" Shaffer was interrupted by Rey Misterio Jr. who burst into the interview and attacked Red! Rey threw Red through a curtain which hung as a backdrop for the interview, then drove him straight into the wall! Red struggled to get the curtain off of his head, but Rey continued his assault, punching and kicking away at him.

Security rushed to the scene and pulled Rey away from Red. Red immediately uncovered his head... then rushed towards the nearest exit, escaping the arena. Rey stomped on his detainer's foot, then followed Red out, chasing him throughout the streets of Nuevo Laredo and perhaps across the border into Mexico!

"What a war!" West said, "We need security out there! Hell, the national guard might not even be able to break this thing up! I thought Rey may have reinjured his face last week during that match, but it seems not even THAT will stop his quest for revenge!" The crowd cheered as Rey's image appeared on the video wall, catching his breath as Red darted off into the night.

ITC QUALIFYING ROUND MATCH

LOS VILLANOS vs. LOS FABULOSOS

"Fans may remember these four from their days in World Championship Wrestling," Tenay said, "All four were part of that incredible lucha libre invasion that brought the likes of Rey Misterio Jr., Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis to your televisions each week." Villano IV kicked things off with the incomparable El Dandy, slapping him across the chest before taking him down with an armdrag. He cinched in an armbar and held him on the mat for a few moments, then pulled him up and tagged in his brother, Villano V.

"I've got a question, Mike," West said, "What does 'los villanos' actually translate to in English?" Tenay let out a sigh as Villano V dropped a double axe handle on Dandy's extended arm. "Just like it sounds," he said, "It means 'the villains'." Los Villanos lived up to their name and reputation by double-teaming Dandy in the corner as an enraged Silver King looked on. "I see," West said, "But tell me this... what does 'los fabulosos' mean?"

Villano V continued punching Dandy until finally he blocked a punch and returned it. Dandy blocked two more Villano punches and scored with a dropkick, knocking Villano V into a neutral corner. He quickly rushed to the corner and tagged in Silver King who came in like a "casa de fuego". King took Villano V down with a huracanrana, then dropkicked Villano IV's knee as he rushed to his partner's aid. King grabbed their heads, then crashed their masked faces together in the center of the ring!

King armdragged Villano V down but Villano V popped up and hit an armdrag of his own, instantly cutting King's momentum. Both wrestlers tagged out, bringing El Dandy and Villano IV back in. Just then... a skeleton-dressed man dove into the ring with a steel chair! "La Parka!" Tenay exclaimed, "La Parka is here in NWATNA! What on earth is going on?"

Parka aimed for Dandy with the chair... but referee Mark Johnson ripped the weapon away from him! As Johnson and La Parka began arguing... Silver King dropkicked Parka from behind. The force caused Parka to not only smack face-first into the chair... but that impact drove the chair back into the ref's face! Both lmen hit the canvas as the four wrestlers continued the match.

Villano IV knocked Silver King down with a superkick, then pulled El Dandy up. La Parka slowly regained his senses and grabbed the chair as Villano IV held Dandy in position. Parka took aim, fired... and blasted Villano IV with the chair! Aghast at his own behavior, Parka backed away from the fallen Villano, pulling the chair back... right into Villano V's face! Parka stomped in anger, then looked up to see Los Fabulosos ready to attack!

Dandy unloaded with some punches then whipped Parka into the ropes. As Parka ran towards King, King leveled him with a superkick, knocking him over the top rope to the floor. The crowd went crazy for Los Fabulosos' comeback. Dandy made the cover on Villano IV as King prepared to hit Parka with a plancha! King leapt up and over the top rope... right into a chair shot by Parka!

King crashed and burned at ringside, completely unconscious. Parka climbed back into the ring and snuck up behind Dandy, holding one finger to his masked lips as if to tell the crowd not to signal El Dandy of his predicament. Parka took aim and swung the chair... but Dandy moved! The chair bounced off of the prone Villano IV's chest! Dandy got up and ducked another chair shot. Parka, now incensed, fired a third shot. Again Dandy dodged the blow... causing Parka's attack to hit the other fallen Villano!

Dandy taunted La Parka, pantomiming as a matador who had just escaped a bull's goring. Parka again stomped angrily, throwing a tantrum. He approached Dandy, then pointed out into the crowd. Dandy looked as Parka persisted continuing to point towards someone or something. Dandy held his hand up to his brow, looking closely into the crowd for whatever Parka was directing him to. It proved to be a ruse... because Parka bashed Dandy with the chair from behind!

Parka dragged Dandy to the center of the ring, then pulled Villano IV on top of him. Parka picked up the chair and began strumming it like a guitar when suddenly... Mark Johnson came to. Johnson, seeing Parka standing over all four of the active participants and holding a chair, demanded to know what was going on. Parka threw down the chair, pointed to it, then shrugged his shoulders.

"Who did you hit?" Johnson shouted, demanding answers from the chair-swinging luchadore. Parka looked around, surveying the area, seeing all of the carnage he and his chair had created. He looked back at Johnson... then pointed to his own chest. "You?" Johnson said, "You hit you?" Parka nodded, then collapsed to the canvas, grabbing his head. Johnson, completely confused, spotted Villano's cover and counted the pinfall. "What in the world?!" West said, "Mike, after seeing that, I've only got one question... what in the world does 'la parka' mean?!"

WINNERS: Los Villanos via pinfall at 12:56

Backstage, Super Crazy and Psicosis were seen relaxing and playing a game of cards. Just then, up walked Juventud Guerrera. "Oye!" he said, "Man, this is what it's all about, amigos! The homecoming, baby! We're just a few short miles away from where it all began. Arriba Mexico! Arriba la raza! Mi familia in the crowd, just waitin' to see us do our thing!"

"But tonight," he said, dramatically shifting his tone from excitement to intensity, "Tonight's much bigger, man. Tonight, the greatest team in all of NWATNA, Dos Locos, get our shot to get in the Iron Team Challenge, ese. Crazy, you ready?" Crazy looked up and smiled. "Si," he said. "Good," Juvi said, "Because that's not all. Nuevo campeon, ese... Steve Corino. He's going to be out there tambien. You know what means. Not only could this be the night we qualify for a shot to become the tag champs... we could actually drop the bomb on Stevie's little fiesta."

Crazy stood up and rapidly began spouting off in Spanish to Juvi. "That's right, ese," Juvi said, "Bunkhouse Stampede. You and that gringo got some unfinished business. We ain't no strangers to these Horsemen. Tonight... things is different though. Tonight... tonight, they in our house. We got home field advantage, ese. Come on, man. Time for us to get loco."

The music of J.R. Ryder hit as the shot returned to inside the arena. Ryder came out and walked down the aisle. "Fans," Tenay said, "The Amazing Red was originally scheduled for a match right now, but because of the attack by Rey Misterio Jr. earlier, he's nowhere to be found. Luckily, this young X-Division star has stepped up to take his spot. J.R. Ryder, a native of Wilmington, Delaware, with a big opportunity here tonight."

"An opportunity?" West said, "He could have signed his own death warrant. I've seen this man, his opponent, backstage earlier and in the mood he is in, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him right now!" K-Krush's theme music began playing, but cut off within mere seconds. Moments later... the old theme song from the Little Rascals show played. "Introducing his opponent," the ring announcer said, "From Charlotte, North Carolina weighing in at 245 pounds... BUCKWHEAT!"

BUCKWHEAT vs. J.R. RYDER

Ryder moved in at the bell, but Buckwheat immediately scored with a boot to the gut. As J.R. doubled over, 'Wheat hammered him with forearm strikes to the back, battering away on him. Buckwheat blasted Ryder with his patented scissor kick and made a cover. Referee Chuck Berry began the count... but Buckwheat pulled him up by the hair and punched him square in the face! "We are seeing a new side of the man once known as K-Krush!" Tenay said, "He's lost everything now. The name he tried so hard to build is gone and in it's place is Bu... Bu, ha ha... Buck, HA HA! I'm sorry. I can't even say it without laughing!"

Buckwheat folded Ryder up with a brutal back suplex, then went for a legit cover. Amazingly, Ryder managed to save himself by kicking out at two. Buckwheat hooked Ryder up for the N-Bomb, a sure match ender... but Ryder blocked it! Ryder reversed the move into a vertical suplex, taking 'Wheat down. He got right back up, but ate a spinning heel kick from Ryder. Ryder moved into attack position, ready to pounce as soon as Buckwheat got to his feet. He leapt up, looking for his huracanrana variation, the Ripcord... but 'Wheat sat out and drove him down with a powerbomb!

Buckwheat again hooked Ryder up for the N-Bomb, but the crowd began chanting "Buckwheat", mocking his new name. The chants got to the former K-Krush and released his foe, shouting for the crowd to shut up. This only made the crowd grow louder. 'Wheat left the ring and shouted at a few ringside fans. "My name ain't Buckwheat!" he shouted, "It's K-Krush! My name is K-Krush!" Buckwheat accepted the fact that he'd be unable to convince them to stop, so he returned to the ring, breaking berry's ten-count. He turned to face Ryder... and walked right into the Ripcord! "One! Two! Three! He got him!" West exclaimed as the call came down.

WINNER: J.R. Ryder via pinfall at 7:11

J.R. immediately dove from the ring, raising his arms in victory as he made his way to the back. Meanwhile, Buckwheat began screaming at the crowd to stop chanting "Buckwheat", but they simply refused. Unable to contain his rage, Buckwheat turned... then dropped the referee with a scissor kick! The fans continued to egg him on as he made his way out. "My God!" Tenay said, "That man just attacked an official! That's going to result in a serious fine or possible... hold on! I'm getting word something's going on backstage! Eric, where are you? Can we go there live?!"

The scene cut to the parking lot where Eric Shaffer and a cameraman were rushing towards a car. There, Jeff Jarrett was loading a travel bag in the trunk. "Jeff Jarrett!" Eric said, "What's going on? Why did you miss the pre-show meeting that Shane Douglas ordered? Where are you going? Does this...?" Before Eric could finish his string of questions, Jarrett ripped the microphone away from him.

"Shut up, slapnut!" he said, "You're pissin' me off! Why did I miss the meeting? Why should I have gone?! I know what Shane Douglas was going to do. I know exactly what his first act as a member of the committee would be. Hey, Franchise! I'll save you the trouble. NWATNA, consider this my two seconds notice! In case you're like this dumb-ass announcer here, that means I quit! You hear me? I'm out of here." With that, Jarrett climbed into the car and drove off, leaving a stunned Eric Shaffer behind.

"Jeff... Jarrett... quit?" Don West said, "Is he...? Can he do that, Mike?" As the news slowly sunk in to the voices of NWATNA, the participants for the number-one contender's match made their way to the ring. Shamrock seemed surprisingly healthy given the ferocity of his brutal falls-count-anywhere match last Wednesday. Kendrick had the crowd's support as he raced to the ring and high-fived a few of them before eagerly awaiting the start of the most pivotal bout of his young career.

BRIAN KENDRICK vs. KEN SHAMROCK

Kendrick started off aggressively, hammering Ken with forearm shots. He threw a kick, but it was caught... and Shamrock tried to twist him into an anklelock! Luckily for Kendrick, he managed to escape by throwing his other leg up and nailing with a hard enzuigiri kick. Shamrock went down to one knee, but ducked Kendrick's attempt at a shining wizard knee strike. Ken got up quickly and snatched Kendrick up in a suplex, then hooked on a kneebar.

"Shamrock's going for another submission hold!" Tenay said, "I'm not sure Kendrick has ever faced an opponent so incredibly technically sound as Ken Shamrock. Welcome to the big leagues, Brian." Kendrick reached the ropes to break the hold, but Ken immediately pounced atop him and began laying in some hard punches. Referee Mickey Jay pulled Shamrock off of his hapless prey as Kendrick slowly rolled beneath the bottom rope to the floor.

Kendrick needed a seven-count before he could return to the apron, but Shamrock was waiting for him and bashed him with a punch as he climbed up. Shamrock hiptossed Kendrick over the top to the mat... but Kendrick incredibly landed on his feet! He immediately took off running, bounced off the ropes and rocked Shamrock with a running forearm! Shamrock stayed vertical after the blow, as well as a second. Cheered on by the crowd, Kendrick continued springing off the ropes and nailing Shamrock until finally the self-proclaimed "World's Most Dangerous Man" finally fell.

A pin attempt only got Kendrick two. Undautned, Brian headed up top and nailed Shamrock flush with a missile dropkick. He hooked the leg, but again Shamrock got out at two. Kendrick got up and began screaming "I'm a winner! I'm a winner!", mocking Shamrock's trademark lapses of sanity. With the crowd at his back, Kendrick took Ken's foot in hand and began cranking away with the anklelock! "Insult to injury!" West said, "Kendrick's going for a submission with shamrock's own finisher!"

Shamrock managed to kick away from the hold, proving Kendrick to be far less proficient at applying it. Kendrick charged as Ken as he got up... but ran right into a big clothesline! Kendrick popped right back up, but another running clothesline put him down. Again, Kendrick got up and Shamrock fired a clothesline. This time, however, Kendrick was ready. He caught Ken's arm and wrapped around him crucifix-style, ending up catching him for a DDT. Ken resisted the DDT... but Kendrick moved his grip and attempted Sliced Bread #2!

"Oh my!" Tenay exclaimed as Kendrick charged to the corner, sprang off... then was tossed off by Ken! Kendrick went flying behind his opponent and crashed to the mat, clipping Mickey Jay in the head with his foot on the way down! Kendrick was slow to get up, but Ken was ready when he did. He grabbed him and threw him down with his devastating triple belly-to-belly suplex combo!

"I'm a winner, dammit!" Shamrock screamed at his downed foe, then cinched on the anklelock! Shamrock screamed maniacally as Kendrick gutted out the searing pain, refusing to quit. "Tap! Tap! TAP!" Shamrock screamed as Kendrick desperately stretched, trying to reach the ropes. He managed to grab them, but there was no referee to force the break! Ken merely dragged Kendrick back to the center and continued wrenching away with the hold. Just then... Jerry Lynn hit the ring!

Shamrock immediately released the hold and charged at his arch-nemesis... but Lynn ducked a clothesline. He delivered a boot to the gut... then spiked Ken with the cradle piledriver! Lynn looked down, staring at Ken with wild eyes as the crowd erupted. He pulled Ken up and hit a second cradle piledriver... then administered a crushing third before leaving the ring! "Mike, I knew this rivalry wasn't over!" West said, "These two nearly killed each other last week! It make take one of them actually finishing the job to end this once and for all!"

Of the downed men in the ring, the first to recover was Mickey Jay. He saw Shamrock lying unconscious and across the ring, Kendrick huddled on the canvas, gripping his mangled ankle. With both combatants down, he began the mandatory ten-count. Kendrick slowly crawled over to the ropes, reaching them at four. It took him until nine to finally pull himself to his feet. Jay counted to ten and called for the bell, raising Kendrick's hand mere seconds before he collapsed to the mat again.

WINNER: Brian Kendrick via knockout at 22:51

"It's over!" West said, "Brian Kendrick has the title shot! November 13th in Amarillo, it will be Steve Corino versus Brian Kendrick! Think about it, Mike. Three months ago, Kendrick didn't even have an NWATNA contract! Now, two weeks from tonight... he could become the NWA World Champion! He's got two weeks to get that ankle ready! Can he do it?"

"Speaking of our World Champion," Tenay said, "He announced at the top of our show his bid for the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Fans, just three weeks from tonight, we will present the Iron Team Challenge, the most grueling series of matches in tag team wrestling history. At the end of that show, the winners will be awarded the NWA World Tag Team Titles. This main event features two teams who would have to be favorites to win that whole thing... but only one will be moving on to go for the gold in Santa Fe!"

ITC QUALIFYING ROUND MATCH

THE EXTREME HORSEMEN with Tully Blanchard vs. DOS LOCOS with Psicosis

Super Crazy and C.W. Anderson entered first for their respective teams and circled the ring, sizing each other up. As Crazy passed by Tully Blanchard at ringside... Blanchard reached in the ring and grabbed his boot! Crazy immediately turned and shouted at him, drawing referee Scott Armstrong's attention to the infraction. Blanchard raised his hands, denying any wrongdoing, but the official didn't buy it. He pointed towards the entrance, telling Blanchard to leave! Psicosis walked over and laughed at Blanchard... then Armstrong ejected him as well!

"This is going to be two-on-two," Tenay said, "Good call by the official. Neither of those men need to be out here for this main event match." Crazy turned back to his opponent, then was immediately stung by an old-fashioned Anderson left! Anderson fired off a few more punches, then scooped and slammed Crazy down. He made a cover but only got two. In full control, C.W. propped Crazy on the top rope and tagged in the World Champion. Together, The Horsemen climbed up for a killer double superplex!

Corino made an arrogant cover but only got two. He hooked Crazy up and put him down with a fisherman's suplex, getting another near-fall. Crazy countered a Corino powerbomb into a huracanrana, then reached Juventud Guerrera for the tag. Guerrera came in like a tornado, blasting both Corino and Anderson as he rushed to his partner's aid. Juvi knocked Corino down with a dropkick, then stood up and signaled out to the crowd. "It's Juvi Driver time!" Don West exclaimed.

Juvi grabbed Corino and tried to hoist him up, but Corino fought it, grapevining his leg around Juvi's. Juvi continued to struggle to deliver his finishing move when Corino reversed it, scooping Juvi up for a Juvi Driver of his own! Luckily for Guerrera, he managed to bridge backwards and post his feet on the mat, preventing Corino from gaining the leverage needed to spike him head-first into the canvas. Unfortunately, he left himself in a precarious position for one of Corino's pet moves. "There it is!" Tenay cried, "Old School Expulsion! Cover! NO! Juvi kicks out!"

Incensed that Guerrera had escaped his finisher, Corino put the boots to him, then headed up top. He dove off with a flying headbutt... but Juvi rolled out of the way, reaching Crazy for the tag! With Corino on dream street, Crazy planted him with a powerbomb, then headed to the corner and launched into his triple moonsault combo! After crashing down on Corino with the third from the top rope, Crazy made the cover. "That has got to be all, Mike!" Don said, "One! Two! Th... What the hell?!"

"I don't believe it!" Tenay said, "Juventud Guerrera just pulled his partner off of Corino!" Indeed, Juvi grabbed Crazy's foot and dragged him off of Corino, breaking the pin. Crazy got up and shouted at Juvi and the two began arguing in Spanish. As their discussion raged on, Corino slowly crawled towards his corner for the tag. "Don, I think I see what's going on here," Tenay said, "Juvi didn't want Crazy to be the one that pinned the World Champion! He wanted the glory for himself!"

Crazy, enraged at Juvi's actions, shoved his own partner down. Guerrera got up and continued trying to explain but was met with a rapid-fire barrage of heated Spanish by Crazy. Fed up with the argument, Juvi shoved Crazy back... right into the Anderson Spinebuster! C.W. hooked the leg and scored the pin. "The Extreme Horsemen are headed to the ITC!" Tenay said, "However, I think the real story may be the destruction of Dos Locos, which we may have just witnessed!"

WINNERS: The Extreme Horsemen via pinfall at 14:48

Corino and Anderson celebrated their victory as Juvi walked away in disgust. "One belt just isn't enough!" Corino shouted into the camera, "We want 'em all! Ha ha ha ha!" Tully Blanchard returned to the ring and joined his boys in their celebration, handing Corino his NWA Title. As Corino held the belt high, much to the chagirn of the crowd, suddenly... the lights went out!

A spotlight shone on the rafters as Sting stood there, watching over the ring. Corino froze in the center of the ring as a red spotlight shone over him. "Pardon the interruption," Sting said, "I don't mean to rain on your little parade there. I just have a little information I think you ought to know... champ. Before you go making plans to take NWATNA over, realize this. I'm coming for you, Steve... and you will FEEL THE STING!"

"Now I know what you're thinking," he continued, "You've got plenty of time between now and Zero Hour to come up with some kind of plot to get the best of me. Here's the problem with that. I'm not coming for you then, Steve. I'm hunting you NOW! Next week, just to keep your celebration going, I want you and C.W. Anderson to be prepared to have another tag match. Not just any kind, though. I'm talking about no disqualifications, no count-outs and... no tags. I'm talking about a tornado tag match!"

"You see," Sting concluded, "I'm not the only guy who feels like you're looking just a bit too far ahead in your career. That's why next week, you two will go against Brian Kendrick... and me! Forget Zero Hour, Steve. You've got one week to cook up a scheme to save yourself. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick tock. Tick..." As the show faded out, he continued on taunting Corino who trembled as he peered into the cold, focused eyes of Sting.

YES! BRIAN KENDRICK! (Y)

Anyway, with the whole Buckwheat thing, he really seems to be going in the direction of eventually a Stone Cold Anti-Authority Guy. However, since that's already been done, he'll be a heel Stone Cold Anti-Authority Guy. But it would require a name change and to be really badass, it needs to be something like 'The Truth'.

You should have had an X-Division Title match on the card, considering the fact that you didn't have a World Title match. Daniels picked up a massive victory the week before, so maybe even just a squash match over someone like Teddy Hart would have been good.

Finally, I want to see the continuation of Red/Rey. It's strange, because unless you have Rey on written, WWE usually manages to snap him up about a week into his TNA Tenure for me.

A Corino interview getting only a 77%? Musta been Honky. He's trying to hold The Man down!

The La Parka thing was hilarious, and I guess I was proven wrong with Kendrick. Oooo, that's gonna piss Kenny off something fierce.

I get the feeling that more is going on with Jarrett than meets the eyes, but for now I'll just love that Corino will be getting more air-time in his absence. Yay!

Thanks, everybody. Rey's not under written contract but he's got a deal with Japan which prevents him from heading to WWE, even if it forces me to keep writing him out of the shows (ala the infamous face injury). As for the tag match and La Parka... that's just what happens when I write when I'm really tired. Strange things happen.

Enjoy the October recap and stay tuned for November. :)

All About The Gabe: November 2002

By Gabe Sapolsky

Welcome back, folks, to the only monthly recap that is all about... The Gabe! I am, of course, "The Gabe" Gabe Sapolsky and over the next few minutes (or hours/days/weeks/months... I'm not sure most of you read that fast) I'll be letting you in on all the dirt that the NWATNA brass don't want you to know. Consider this your chance to look behind the curtain and get the "real" scoop. Without further ado...

THE KAYGABE REPORT

- Well, we're starting off with a bit of sad news. As was reported earlier this month, Michael Shane was involved in a automobile accident on October 12th after visiting a family party in his home of San Antonio. The incident is still under investigation, but anyone who wishes to send Michael a note (or a sexy photo, ladies... I hope?), information is available on his profile at www.NWATNA.com/profiles/Michael_Shane. Anyway, the word is that Michael's done for the rest of '02 and possibly out into spring of next year.

- I can also confirm that because of Shane's incapacitation, he and Codekill have been dropped from the Iron Team Challenge. NWATNA officials are setting up a match between two teams to take their place at November 20th's big show. By all accounts, Codekill isn't happy about this development, but rest assured he and Shane will be granted a title match at some point following Shane's return.

- How's this for irony? Four days after Shane's accident, Elix Skipper took his place in a six-man tag match at No Turning Back. Fans may have noticed an apparent leg injury he suffered during the closing moments. Well, on the 21st, we got word back that Elix's calf muscle was torn clean off the bone. He's undergoing surgery next week and will miss the next nine months. However, Elix has agreed to work a few dates in NWARoH before returning to NWATNA so don't expect to see him on pay-per-view for at least a year. Get well soon, Elix.

- In our final (thank God!) injury update, it appears Frank Shamrock suffered a pretty serious concussion at October 9th's Breaking & Entering during that hellacious reverse cage match. Early tests proved he was all right but after collapsing backstage in Japan, he immediately went back in for further examination. Best of luck on your road to recovery, Frank.

- Now that Shane Douglas is in a seat of power, expect some big changes to come to NWATNA soon. Word is that Douglas has been actively negotiating with various TV networks to air some form of NWATNA programming on network television. However, I've had just as many insiders confirm this as I have had deny it, so... take this news bit with a grain of salt, please.

- American fans have seen the Puerto Rican legend, Carlos Colon, for the last time. October 23rd was Carlos' final U.S. match. He flew back to his home country of Puerto Rico and wrestled his final match against Invader I earlier tonight. After an incredible run, Carlos is shifting into a much-deserved retirement in Puerto Rico... where he'll no doubt be watching his sons, Carlos Jr. and Eddie, here in NWATNA!

- Speaking of young tag teams, how impressive are the young duo of Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada? So impressive that Dusty Rhodes has announced that he'll no longer be accompanying them to ringside for their matches. Rhodes has decided to allow the two to spread their wings and fly solo (or as two) while he accepts a position within the NWA Championship Committee.

- As of right now, five teams are set to be a part of the Iron Team Challenge. Siaki and Estrada, Cade and Hope, Acid Reign, Los Villanos and The Extreme Horsemen have already qualified. As mentioned earlier, Michael Shane and Codekill had qualified but were forced to drop out. Qualifying matches will continue for the next two weeks leading right up to the big show in Santa Fe!

- Kevin Sullivan has signed to a three-year contract as a road agent. He'll be working behind the scenes with the young stars of NWATNA. Welcome aboard, Kevin! You can stop acting so creepy now. I mean it. Seriously. Stop.

- Sad news out of the land down under to report. World Wrestling All-Stars, the pet project of Andrew McManus, has gone belly-up. Despite having a solid roster and some great management in the likes of Ricky Steamboat, the company simply couldn't survive it's financial strain and went bankrupt this week. Best of luck to all those unemployees down there.

- NWATNA hits the southwest this month as we continue towards the big 12/18 show in Phoenix. More on that in a bit...

- Congratulations go out to Tito Ortiz. While no longer a member of the NWATNA roster, Tito proposed to girlfriend Stacy Carter (The Kat/Miss Kitty for you WWE fans) this week. Nice job, Tito. Best of luck to you.

- Next week, NWATNA's pay-per-view event will feature a few wrestlers from the Northeastern cult promotion Combat Zone Wrestling. Youthanazia and Trent Acid are among the NWATNA alumni to come out of CZW so here's hoping the next batch of invaders are every bit as good!

- Is NWARoH going international? Several stars from Michinoku Pro have agreed to be a part of NWARoH before year's end and the company (through the NWA, of course) has opened up a talent exchange program with a new up-and-coming promotion out of Mexico. Since NWARoH is pretty much the NWATNA minors, I imagine this means that your Wednesday nights are going to get a dash of international flavor soon!

- The aforementioned Mexican promotion (as yet unnamed) will hold it's debut event on November 24th and several NWATNA stars have agreed to appear. Kid Kash, Scoot Andrews, Low-Ki, Youthanazia and Trent Acid will all appear on the undercard building up to an incredible main event... The Amazing Red versus Ultimo Dragon!

- Okay. My last bit of news is deadly serious. On November 27th, NWATNA will air our Thanksgiving special. I'm not going to give anything away, but... the world will be talking about it around their Thanksgiving tables. What am I thankful for? The fact that I know why... AND YOU DON'T!

10 ANSWERS WITH GABE

Who gives the best interviews in NWATNA?

10. "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett

Practice makes perfect, I guess. Sorry to see you go, Jeff. I know I'll miss you.

9. Brian Kendrick

It takes a real charismatic fellow to beat K-Krush at his own game, but Kendrick's got skills. Or is it "skillz"? "Zkillz"? That doesn't seem right at all.

8. Juventud Guerrera

Our Latino fans will concur that Juvi brings the salsa on the microphone! Arriba!

7. Terry Funk

Terry Funk has the heart of a lion. He proves it with every match he wrestles. Every word he says is no different. Funk's passionate speeches will live on forever in the hearts of fans the world over. THAT'S hardcore.

6. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels

Daniels is so incredibly focused that you can even see him thinking about holds and counterholds while he addresses his opponent verbally. It's talk like that that got him inside the head of Jushin Liger and brought him the X-Division Title. That... and he's a hell of a wrestler.

5. K-Kru... er... Buckwheat

Before The NWA 54th Anniversary, K-Krush was a budding young star in both wrestling and the world of hip-hop music. His first studio album "Invincible" goes on sale in early 2003. With mike ability like that, how could he NOT make the top five?

4. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes

He's not always articulate but he's the 'Merikendreem, bebey!

3. The Honky Tonk Man

Honestly... does this guy not just crack you up? Perhaps it's the hair or the clothes, but I know I'd give anything to go back in time and hear "Honky Rap".

2. "The Franchise" Shane Douglas

Douglas proves with every word that he is a master of entertaining the fans. That's why he's such a perfect fit on the NWA Championship Committee.

1. "The New Nature Boy" Steve Corino

Who else? Corino's chatter helped him win the NWA World Title as much as his wrestling ability. Let's face it. Corino has the one thing any good talker needs... the ability to back it up. He said he'd never tap when it mattered and he didn't. That's why he's #1.

TNA Q&A

It's your chance to get your stupid, insignificant questions answered... by me!

This month's question comes from jackie503 who writes:

hey gabe i just wan 2 no wen nwanta is common 2 my town!1 thx

Well, Jackie...

Seeing as you're corresponding via e-mail, I have no idea when we're coming to "your town". Feel free to mail me back with your full name and address to I can have every English teacher in America send you some help. Oh, I'll answer your question too.

Next: Tornado In Texas

By Katy-Jayne Myers

After an incredible show this past Wednesday, what's next for NWATNA? Find out this week as we head to Lubbock, Texas for Tornado In Texas! Fans in Lubbock have been waiting for this event since tickets went on sale, but you can be a part of it at home by ordering it on pay-per-view for only $9.95!

With the Iron Team Challenge looming, fans of great tag action will be excited to learn that NWATNA officials have announced that ALL of the matches will be two-on-two tag team matches! Call your friends who say that tag team wrestling is dead and tell them to order this show!

The main event will be a classic tornado tag match as four wrestlers will all compete in the ring at the same time! In one corner, you will see The Extreme Horsemen, C.W. Anderson and the NWA World Champion Steve Corino. In the other will be the top two contenders for that belt, the exciting Brian Kendrick and... STING! Yes, Sting returns to pay-per-view this Wednesday night!

Plus, another Iron Team Challenge qualifyer is set to occur. Dos Locos have petitioned NWATNA officials for a second chance and they have been granted one. The Locos will team up to face Matt Cross and Josh Prohibition, Youthanazia! Youthanazia returns to NWATNA in hopes of avenging their loss this past June in Nashville to the Locos. Will they succeed or will the Locos qualify?

As was reported on this site weeks ago, an accident has forced Michael Shane to temporarily leave NWATNA. He and his partner, Codekill, have been forced to give up their spot in the ITC. A match has been slated to fill that vacancy. You will see Combat Zone Wrestling's hottest team, The H8 Club take on the new CZW Tag Team Champions, Ian Knoxx and Chris Stylez! CZW officials have announced the title will be on the line and if you know this northeastern-based promotion's reputation, don't expect violence... expect ULTRA-violence!

Dory Funk Jr. has announced that the actions of Rey Misterio Jr., Buckwheat and Jerry Lynn last Wednesday will all be dealt with. This will be a good indication of the new administration stance towards out-of-ring infractions. Fans, if you believe the rumors... this may be your last chance to see one of these performers in NWATNA!

All this and much, much more comes your way this Wednesday night! Don't miss it!

T-Minus 10 Minutes: Tornado In Texas

By Jimmy Kirk

In his office, Dory Funk Jr. had Jerry Lynn and Rey Misterio Jr. seated. "Boys," he said, "I hate to do this. You know I do. Still, just because I like you guys, it wouldn't be fair for me to let what you two have done go without some sort of reaction. Before I start, I just want you to know I understand why you did what you did and this isn't personal. This is just about sending a message to the entire roster."

"Rey," he continued, "You've been through hell and back these past few months. What Red's put you through... I can't say you didn't give him what he deserved. However, because of what you did, we nearly had a cancel a match on a live pay-per-view. It was just luck that J.R. Ryder agreed to step up. Now, I can't risk what happened last week happening, Rey. You understand?" Rey frowned and nodded his head.

"As for you, Jerry," Dory continued, "I realize this thing between you and Ken Shamrock has completely gotten out of hand. That's partially my fault. I know it isn't the first time the two of you have cost each other a match, but you singlehandedly ruined his chance of getting a title shot next week. I just can't have that sort of thing going on here. If NWATNA is really the land of opportunity we want it to be, it means the wrestlers need to feel like they'll have every chance possible to make it to the top."

"Well," Dory said, then let out a long sigh, "I'm officially suspending both of you without pay until further notice. I'm sorry, but you left me with no choice. You better get out of here." Lynn and Misterio were visibly upset by the announcement, but got up to leave without making a single comment. They opened the door and prepared to walk out... but ran right into Shane Douglas!

"Hey, guys," Douglas said, "Where you going?" "We got suspended," Rey said. "Suspended? By who?" Douglas asked, then looked over and saw Funk sitting there. "Oh!" he said, "Wait a minute. Is this about last week? Hang on just a second. Are you actually sending these guys home for what they did last week?!" Funk shot Douglas an angry glare. "Yes," he said.

"Whoa," Douglas said, "Not to question your judgment on anything, but... is that really the right call, boss? I mean, think about it. Rey nearly had his career ended by Red not long ago. Exactly what would you do if there was a guy running around trying to end your career? And what about Jerry? Shamrock was his partner and he betrayed him! How would you feel? I realize these guys made a mistake, boss... but are you sure you're suspending the right guys."

"Shane," Dory said, appearing to be quite irritated, "I'm not happy about it, but I have to judge these things as they come. Last week, these two completely disrupted the show. I'm sorry to do it, but something has to be done to prevent this sort of thing from happening again. Believe me, guys... I'm going to get this sorted out and bring you back as soon as I can. For now, though, you've got to go."

"You heard the man," Shane said, "Still, and again I'm not questioning your authority here, but if it were me... I'd just make sure I was getting rid of the right guys. I mean, I look at these two and I see two of the finest pieces of talent this business has to offer. I also see two guys with problems. Specifically, I see two guys who have a problem with two other guys. Ironically, I see two guys who have a problem with two other guys in a building filled with a couple thousand people who are ready to see the best tag team action this industry has to offer. I'm just saying... there might be another way to settle this."

Funk rubbed his chin as Shane allowed Lynn and Misterio to pass. "Hold on, guys," Funk called back, "Change of plans. I want you to go get ready. There's a change in the opening match. It's going to be you two versus Shamrock and Red... losers are suspended. You lose, you've got to go. You win and they'll get your suspensions. Either way... problem solved."

Lynn and Misterio smiled and walked off, eager to prepare for the match. Douglas smiled as well, giving Funk the thumbs-up sign with his hand. "I'll go tell Shamrock and Red," he said, then walked away. Funk smiled, happy with the knowledge that he'd just booked a great opening bout for the show. Just then... Douglas poked his head back into the office. "I told you we'd make a hell of a team," he said.

Dangerous Details: Tornado In Texas

By "Danger" Will Riker

ITC QUALIFYING ROUND MATCH

LOSERS ARE SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY

JERRY LYNN & REY MISTERIO JR. vs. KEN SHAMROCK & THE AMAZING RED

The show started right away with the entrances of the four. Lynn and Shamrock, unable to control themselves, breezed past their partners and locked up at the opening bell. Lynn armdragged Ken down, then began unloading with hard right hands. Shamrock ducked one, causing Lynn to spin around and fall victim to a huge German suplex! Shamrock bridged for a two count but Lynn got the shoulder up. Ken hung on, pulled Lynn up, then drove him down with another German, again getting a near fall.

Ken tagged out to Red, then suplexed Lynn down. Red came off the top rope with a twisting splash but failed to make a cover. Instead, Red pulled Lynn up and hit him with a spinning heel kick. Red had Lynn right where he wanted him, so he attempted his Code Red flip powerbomb. He connected and made the pin attempt... but Lynn kicked out! Red was stunned as Lynn sat up and fired a punch, but quickly recovered and sprang to his feet, then drove them into Lynn's face with a big dropkick to the mush!

Red delivered a few stomps to his downed foe, then signaled for the Red Star Press! He leapt up into the air, flipped and came crashing down... right onto Lynn's elevated knees! Red flopped to the mat, clutching his crushed sternum as Lynn made the long crawl to Misterio for the tag. The crowd erupted as Misterio leapt over the top rope and charged Red, dropping him as he got up with a running lariat!

Misterio ripped Red up off the canvas then slung him hard into the turnbuckle. Like a man possessed, Rey fired off punch after punch after punch after punch... after punch! Red slowly slunk down in the corner, clumsily raising his hand to defend himself. Rey immediately backed off and let Red up, then shouted "Hit me!" as he pointed to his chin.

"Rey wants a fight!" West said, "He's sick of Red running and hiding from him. He wants to finish this once and for all!" Red meekly got to his feet and approached Rey who again demanded he strike him. Red pulled back his fist, took aim... and slapped Shamrock's hand! Shamrock watched on in confusion as Red leapt over the top rope and headed up the aisle, stopping halfway up to watch from a safe distance.

Undaunted, Rey charged Ken who easily ducked a lariat. Shamrock slipped behind Rey, then viciously dumped him on his head with a bone-jarring release German suplex! Shamrock arrogantly taunted the crowd, inciting a reaction from Jerry Lynn. Lynn climbed through the ropes and charged at Shamrock... only to run right into a belly-to-belly suplex!

As Shamrock put the boots to Lynn, Misterio slowly pulled himself up. "Look out!" Red shouted to his partner, jumping up and down and pointing. Shamrock was focused on attacking Lynn, but saw Red in the corner of his eye. "Behind you!" Red cried out as Ken Shamrock looked at him, unable to make out his words. Red again warned Shamrock as Misterio reached his feet. Shamrock, in order to hear better, poked his head through the ropes. "Rey's up!" Red shouted... but it was too late. Rey rushed at the ropes and slung his body betwen them, blasting Ken with a slingshot kick!

Lynn rolled out of the ring and ran towards Red as Rey moved onto the apron. He waited for Shamrock to get up, then pounced up to the top rope and delivered a springboard huracanrana. "One! Two! Three!" Tenay said, counting along with Billy Silverman, "Rey and Jerry win! They're going to the Iron Team Challenge two weeks from tonight! Fans, you could be looking at your next NWA World Tag Team Champions!"

WINNERS: Jerry Lynn & Rey Misterio Jr. via pinfall at 14:56

"Not only that," West said, "Shamrock and Red are out of here! What a reversal of fortune for Lynn and Misterio!" Lynn and Misterio celebrated in the ring as referees pulled Shamrock to the back. The crowd, led by the victors, gave Ken and Red a sing-along farewell to the tune of "hey, hey, hey... goodbye!" As Lynn and Misterio's celebration continued, the scene faded to backstage footage.

"Donde esta?!" Super Crazy shouted at Psicosis, demanding to know where he was during last week's main event. Psicosis, in his native tongue, quickly and aggressively defended himself, getting right back in Crazy's face. As the two argued... in walked the third Loco, Juventud Guerrera. "Silencio!" he shouted, "Listen up! I just got done talkin' to Shane Douglas. He's givin' us another shot at this."

"We win tonight and we're in the challenge," Juvi said, causing Crazy to breathe a sigh of relief. "Something more important to discuss right now," Juvi continued, "Crazy, I think we got a problem here. Last week, you tried to get the pin on el campeon in our match. I thought I made it clear, ese. We are Tres Locos and you and me, we are Dos Locos... but Juventud Guerrera? Juventud Guerrera es loco numero uno!"

Crazy, outraged by that statement, immediately launched into a feverish Spanish tirade, remding Juvi of his own personal accolades. "Callete!" Juvi retorted, "I don't care about the past, ese! If any of us is going to be the next campeon, it is me! You know what, Crazy? I don't think you understand how this team works! Forget you, man! Psico, let's go!" With that, Juvi walked away. Psicosis glanced at Crazy, almost as if to apologize, then followed Guerrera out, leaving Super Crazy behind alone.

CZW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

IAN KNOXX & CHRIS STYLEZ (champions) vs. THE H8 CLUB

"Fans who have visited NWATNA.com know that Michael Shane will be unable to attend November 20th's Iron Team Challenge," Mike Tenay said, "He and Codekill have forfeited their spot in that event and it will be awarded to the winners of this match. Fans, if you've never seen Combat Zone Wrestling, get ready for the wildest brand of self-proclaimed ultraviolence in wrestling today!"

Styles and Knoxx wore NWATNA T-shirts modified to cross out the logo and read CZW instead, garnering instant heat from the feud. The challengers, Nate Hatred and "Hardcore" Nick Gage, wheeling out a shopping cart filled with weapons! Referee Jim Molineaux quickly exited the ring and stopped them from bringing it to ringside, reminding them that this bout was under NWATNA rules and thus weapons weren't allowed. Gage and Hatred ignored Molineaux and continued bringing their danger cart to the ring... when suddenly the champions nailed them with a pair of suicide dives!

The four men began brawling in the aisle as Molineaux rushed for safety. Gage scooped Stylez up and slammed him in the cart while Hatred bashed Knoxx with a big Polish hammer. As Knoxx staggered up the aisle, Gage climbed atop the guard rail and leveled him with a flying clothesline. Meanwhile, Hatred popped Stylez in the face with a punch, then shoved the cart down the aisle to the ring.

Gage whipped Knoxx into Hatred who drove his knee into his gut, then positioned him for a powerbomb! Luckily for Knoxx, Stylez climbed out of the cart and climbed the ropes, then leapt off, clocking Nate with an elbow to the back of the head. Gage rushed to his partner's aid but was fell by a dropkick to the knee, courtesy of Knoxx. The champions linked hands and charged at Hatred with a double clothesline... but Nate countered with a double clothesline of his own!

Gage pulled a table out from beneath the ring and propped it up, when suddenly... Codekill ran out and blasted Hatred with a clothesline! Chris Stylez slowly got to his feet and locked up with Gage as 'Kill dropped a big leg on Ian Knoxx! Codekill attacked both Stylez and Gage with clubbing forearms, then proceeded to drape all four of their bodies on the table.

"No!" West exclaimed as Codekill stood on the apron, then stepped up the ropes, finally perching on the middle one, "Mike, he's three hundred pounds! He can't... no! NO! Oh my God! Codekill has just obliterated this entire match!" With a big splash from the middle rope, Codekill crushed all four wrestlers and the table, causing medical personnel to flood the scene and sift through the broken bodies. As Codekill stood up and climbed into the ring, Jim Molineaux called for the bell, waving the match off.

RESULT: no-contest via double-disqualification at 10:48

Before the ring announcer could even announce the referee's decision, Codekill demanded the microphone. "NWATNA!' he shouted, "Do you see?! Do you see the carnage that I can create?! I don't need Michael Shane! I don't need anyone! Two of the top teams in wrestling today... destroyed! Who's going to stop me from taking what's mine? NOBODY! I take back my spot in the Iron Team Challenge! I'll win it myself... and I'll win it alone!"

Codekill left the ring and headed to the back as the medics finished carting away the last of the CZWers. Moments afer Codekill passed through the curtain... the theme of The Honky Tonk Man played! Honky came out, smiling and waving to a less-than-appreciative audience. "Fans, it's time for Honky Talk," Don West said, "If you're in need of a refill or perhaps a trip to the restroom, this is your cue."

"Thank you, Lubbock!" Honky said to the legion of booing fans, "Thank you very much! Ladies and gentlemen, as you may know, we have a two new rules here on Honky Talk. First, no more old fogeys like Jackie Fogey or Carlos Colostomy. Second, no more no-names losers like... well, they don't have names. Well, I've got a treat for you tonight, baby! Tonight, my guest is not only a part of the new blood here in NWATNA... but he's quickly becoming one of the biggest stars! Last week, he made his debut and this week, he's making his first appearance on Honky Talk! Please welcome... Buckwheat!"

Buckwheat's theme song hit and out he came, looking quite upset. He stomped to the ring while the crowd egged him on with chants of "Buckwheat", mocking his disdain for his new ring name. Honky held open the ropes and smiled brightly as the former K-Krush climbed into the ring. "Welcome, Buckwheat!" he said cheerfully, "How does it feel to be on Honky Talk?"

"You stupid or something?" Buckwheat asked, "This isn't my first time here, dumbass! Hell, it's my third! I was your first guest, retard!" Honky looked at him, puzzled. Buckwheat nodded, hoping his face would jog HTM's memory. "Sorry," Honky said, "I don't remember that." Buckwheat frowned, upset by HTM's stupidity.

"Fool!" he said, "I was here for the damn battle rap just a few weeks ago! What the hell is wrong with you? You're actin' like the cheese done fell off your cracker... cracker!" Honky smiled and nodded his head. "Ah, yes," he said, "The battle rap challenge... now THAT was fun. Let's see. Brian Kendrick was there. I was there, of course. And there was... um... oh, shoot. Who was that other guy?"

"Me! You idiot!" Buckwheat shouted, "It was me!" HTM rubbed his chine, deep in thought... or whatever passes for thought inside his head. "No," he said, "It wasn't you. I'd remember you. It was some other guy. Ku-Klux? Something like that. Some loser whose name really isn't important. Anyway, enough about him... what about you, Buckwheat? What brings you out here tonight? What message is it that you want to send to the fans of NWATNA?"

"Message?" 'Wheat said, "Fool, don't you know? Last week, I slapped around some stupid-ass referee. That old-ass cracker Dory Funk Jr. thought it'd be suitable punishment to send me out here to have to face your stupid, white ass! You think I wanted to be here? This is punishment for me! I can't stand you! I thought I made it clear the first night I met you and I beat your ass!"

"Since I'm out here," he continued, "I might as well send a message to the fans of NWATNA. My name is NOT Buckwheat! It's K-Krush! All you idiots who come here and chant 'Buckwheat' at me... just stop it! It's not funny. It's not cute. It's not clever. It's just stupid... just like this dumb son of a bitch standing next to me!" Of course, the crowd instantly broke out into another "Buckwheat" chant.

"Whoa!" HTM said, "Man alive, baby! Now, in this business, there's a thing called the 'it' factor, okay? It doesn't come along every day. I have it, Andre The Giant had it and... well, that's about it. But you, man? Listen to that! I haven't heard a reaction like that since Savage and I sold out the Garden in '89... and I haven't heard a reaction like THAT since Savage and I sold out the Garden in '88! Baby, you got the 'it' factor!"

"Dory Funk Jr. was right," Honky continued, "There is only one NWATNA star worthy to join forces as my new tag team partner... and baby, it is Buckwheat! Let him hear it, folks!" The crowd continued their chant as Honky grabbed Buckwheat's arm and raised it up, almost as if he'd won something. Buckwheat quickly ripped his arm away and began shouting "no" to Honky's declaration they were a team. As always, HTM ignored him and continued pandering to the crowd.

"Mike, we've just seen the birth of a new tag team dynasty here!" Don West said as HTM left the ring and high-fived a few Buckwheat-chanting fans as the former K-Krush looked on, watching in stunned and horrified silence. Honky headed up the aisle with Buckwheat in hot pursuit, eager to nullify this partnership before it begins.

ITC QUALIFYING ROUND MATCH

JUVENTUD GUERRERA & PSICOSIS replacing Super Crazy vs. YOUTHANAZIA

"If it wasn't evident after last week, it's evident now," Tenay said, "All is not well between the team of Dos Locos. What began as a miscommunication last week has evolved into Juventud actually replacing his own partner as he takes a second stab at solidifying a spot in the ITC." Juventud started off with Matt Cross, blistering him with a chop. Cross returned the favor, lighting up Guerrera with a chop of his own. Juvi kicked Cross in the gut, hit a neckbreaker and got a two-count for his troubles.

Juvi decided not to waste any time and go for the kill immediately, hoisting Cross up for the Juvi Driver. Cross slipped free and landed behind Juvi, then used a dropkick to send him face-first into the turnbuckle. Cross quickly climbed up top, tagged Josh Prohibition, then leapt into the air with a breathtaking 450 degree rotation before catching Juvi with a sunset flip! As Cross pulled Juvi down, Josh sprang into the ring, dropping a leg over his head and chest! "Amazing teamwork and agility by Youthanazia!" Mike Tenay exclaimed.

Josh hooked Juvi up for a T-bone suplex, but a few well-placed elbows broke the move up. Juventud tagged out to Psicosis, who quickly rushed in and spiked Josh with his patented Psicostunner! Psicosis made a cover but Cross broke it up. Psicosis quickly locked in an abdominal stretch but after a few moments, Prohibition broke out and hiptossed him down to the mat. Josh whipped psicosis to the corner but caught a boot running in after him... then felt the full brunt of a big superkick!

Psicosis scaled the turnbuckle, preparing to unleash the dreaded guillotine legdrop. Just then... Juvi reached up and tagged him, then entered the ring and delivered his version of the people's elbow. He made a nonchalant cover which proved to be a costly error as Prrohibition kicked out. "Somebody needs to sit Juventud Guerrera down and explain to him the concept of working as a team," Mike Tenay said, "This guy's ego is so off the charts, it's no wonder his alliance with Super Crazy is in shambles."

Juvi pulled Josh up and positioned him for the Juvi Driver... but Josh countered, spiking Juvi with his Drunken Driver! He quickly made the tag to Matt Cross, who headed to the top rope. Psicosis, sensing real trouble ahead, jumped in to pull Juvi to safety... but Prohibition broke up the save and speared Psicosis through the ropes to the floor! Cross steadied himself on the turnbuckle, when suddenly... Super Crazy rushed out!

Crazy immediately grabbed Cross' ankle, preventing him from jumping off the top rope onto Juvi. He tried to pull Cross down from the top rope, but Cross fought him off. As the two struggled, Juventud slowly got to his feet. With the ref facing Prohibition and Psicosis on the outside, Juvi saw his chance. He leapt up to the top rope and launched into a huracanrana on Cross. Unfortunately for Juvi... Crazy still held Cross' ankle, preventing Juvi from pulling Cross down!

Juvi crashed and burned, hitting the canvas hard. Cross finally shook loose from Crazy, then kicked him in the face, knocking him off the apron. Juvi got to his feet... but Cross launched into a shooting star, catching Guerrera with a DDT on the way down! "The Death Star!" Tenay shouted, "One! Two! Three! Youthanazia win! They are heading into the Iron Team Challenge!"

WINNERS: Youthanazia via pinfall at 12:57

Cross and Prohibition rushed off like thieves in the night, celebrating their upset victory. Meanwhile, Guerrera shook off the cobwebs, then laced into Super Crazy with a verbal tirade. The two went nose-to-nose in the center of the ring, but Psicosis managed to pull Guerrera away before any physical contact was made. "Mike, all is not well in the camp of Tres Locos," Don West astutely commented.

Backstage, Eric Shaffer had J.R. Ryder with him, wearing sunglasses and a leather jacket. "Mr. Ryder," Shaffer said, "Last week, you picked up perhaps the biggest win of your career when you defeated Buckwheat. Since then, fans have stood up and taken notice of you as a potential heavy hitter in the X-Division. Tell me, is there anything you'd like to say to your fans out there?"

"Fans?" Ryder said, sneering, "What fans? Why the hell should I have any fans? After all, I'm not Christopher Daniels or anything. You know, NWATNA should just rename the X-Division the 'Christopher Daniels division' or something. Everywhere I go, all I hear about is the 'match of the year', Liger and Daniels. That's all fans care about. 'Christopher Daniels give 110% every time he performs.' 'Christopher Daniels is a major player in the U.S. and Japan.' 'Christopher Daniels is finally getting the respect he deserves.' Screw that!"

"NWATNA," he continued, "While you're off spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to fly in Japanese stars, you're missing out... because the best homegrown talent in the world is right here! It's the 'Delaware Degenerate' J.R. Ryder! I'm not going to fly halfway around the world to prove myself to the stupid American fans or to impress the championship committee. I'm making the challenge, simple and plain. Daniels, give me a match of the year. Put my name in the dirt sheets."

"You're challenging the 'Fallen Angel'?" Shaffer said. Ryder snorted. "Why the hell not?" he said, "What have I got to lose? Yeah, Daniels... I want you in a match for the X-Division Title. I don't care how. I don't care when. Just when you do, bring your best. I want all these stupid fans to start kissing my ass the way they kiss yours. Match of the year? Yeah, right." With that, Ryder walked off.

"Since becoming the NWA World Champion, Steve Corino has had challengers line up around the block," Tenay said, "Last week, by virtue of a victory over Ken Shamrock, Brian Kendrick earned his first chance at the NWA World Title in a match that will happen next week. At The NWA 54th Anniversary, Sting defeated Jeff Jarrett to earn a title match on our December 18th pay-per-view event. Tonight, these two incredibly popular and upcoming challengers join forces in a wild tornado tag match!"

TORNADO TAG MATCH

STING & BRIAN KENDRICK vs. THE EXTREME HORSEMEN with Tully Blanchard

"All four men are in the ring during this match," West explained, "There's no tagging in or out. It's just a wild Texas brawl!" Steve Corino and C.W. Anderson jumped the bell, attacking Sting and Kendrick prematurely. Corino scooped Kendrick up, then slammed him down while Anderson dumped Sting on his head with a back suplex. corino called Anderson over and together they hit a double suplex on Kendrick, driving him down to the canvas. From ringside, Tully Blanchard directed traffic.

"Mike, this is where experience comes into play," West said, "Sting and Brian Kendrick have never teamed up before. Meanwhile, The Extreme Horsemen have already qualified for the ITC. You just can't underestimate the power of tag team experience, even in a match like this." As Anderson climbed up to the top rope, Corino hammered away on Sting, then hooked him up for Old School Expulsion! Kendrick rolled out of the way of C.W.'s elbowdrop... then reached up and rolled Corino up just as he was about to hit his finisher!

Luckily for Corino, he was able to kick out at two. Sting pulled him up and whipped him into the corner, then blasted Anderson with a running clothesline, knocking him over the top rope to the floor. Tully Blanchard climbed up on the apron, but a right hand from Sting sent him straight back down! Kendrick backed into the opposite corner... then Sting whipped him across the ring into Corino for a Stinger Splash!

Corino staggered out of the corner... but Kendrick shoved him back into it. He pointed across the ring as his partner, causing the crowd to erupt! "There's only one original!" West said as Sting rushed across the ring, "Stinger Splash! Oh yeah!" Sting crushed Corino with the move, then watched as Corino took a few dazed steps out of the corner... then fell flat on his face! Corino rolled out of the ring as Kendrick and Sting howled to the electric crowd.

As Blanchard and Anderson pulled Corino up off the floor... Sting hoisted Kendrick up over his head for a gorilla press slam! "What power!" Tenay remarked in awe as Sting walked towards the ropes, holding Kendrick up high. He dumped him over the top rope onto the Horsemen trio, wiping them all out! Sting pounded his chest and riled up the crowd as Kendrick tossed Corino back into the ring.

Sting pulled Corino up by the hair, but Corino responded with a few weak punches to the gut. Kendrick tried to climb and save his partner... but Blanchard pulled his belt off and whipped him with it! Anderson pounded away on Kendrick's forehead with hard left hands as Tully wrapped the belt around Brian's neck, choking him out. Scott Armstrong, the referee, tried to break up the melee, while in the ring... Sting scored with a reverse DDT!

"The Scorpion Death Drop!" Don West shouted, "You know what that's the prelude to!" sting snatched up Corino's feet and locked in the Scorpion Death Lock, smack in the center of the ring! Corino grit his teeth and gutted out the pain, fultiely reaching for the ropes. Just then... Jeff Jarrett slid into the ring with a guitar and blasted Sting in the head with it! Armstrong, outside the ring, was oblivious to it as Jarrett rushed out and up the aisle. "What in the world?!" West said, "I thought he quit!"

Anderson continued to pummel away at Kendrick, ignoring Armstrong's orders to desist. Blanchard pointed towards the ring, sending his attention there. The referee reentered the ring where an exhausted Corino had draped a limp arm over the unconscious Sting. Amidst a field of guitar debris, he counted to three and called for the bell. "I can't believe it," Tenay said, "Fans... Steve Corino has just pinned Sting!"

WINNERS: The Extreme Horsemen via pinfall at 10:06

As Corino and Sting lay prone on the mat, Blanchard continued choking Kendrick out as C.W. worked him over with punches, kicks and stomps. Corino soon joined his allies, holding the NWA Title in his face and shouting at him as The Extreme Horsemen continued their assault. "This is as close as you'll ever get!" Corino shouted as he viciously ground the belt into Kendrick's purple face.

All the while, the incomparable Sting lay motionless on the mat as Jeff Jarrett watched on in sadistic glee. "All hell has broken loose!" Tenay screamed, "Sting has been pinned! Kendrick has been decimated! Shamrock and Red are gone! Dos Locos are at war! Jarrett has returned! What the hell else is going to happen?! Find out next week in Amarillo! Good night!"

T-Minus 10 Minutes: A Funkin' Homecoming

By Jimmy Kirk

"Yo!" Juventud Guerrera said, barging into the locker room, "Get your ass in gear, ese! We're up first! Last chance at this, Psico! Let's not blow it!" Guerrera stepped into his partner's dressing room... then froze as he saw Psicosis standing next to Super Crazy! The two were deep in conversation, speaking Spanish. "Whoa!" Juvi shouted, "Que pasa, amigo! What's HE doing here?"

Crazy replied angrily, shouting at Juvi. Psicosis stepped in between them to cool things down, then began talking calmly to Guerrera. "What?!" Juvi shouted, alarmed by Psicosis' words, "No, no, no! You ain't doin' this, Psico! This isn't my fault, ese!"

"Yeah, I got pinned last week," he admitted, "But you look over there and see why! Crazy messed me up, fool!" Crazy quickly defended himself, telling Psicosis his side of the story. "Trying to help?!" Juvi retorted, "You were just jealous, man! You were pissed off I was tryin' to replace you! Dos Locos es nada mas!" Crazy again stated his case, saying he was only trying to help Juvi and Psicosis win.

Psicosis interrupted him, simply saying "Venga." As an enraged Guerrera watched on, his stablemates walked away, heading towards the ring. "Oh, that's how it is?" Juvi said, "Fine! Buena suerte, amigos! You're going to need it!" A devious smile crept across Juvi's face as the shot faded to Eric Shaffer inside the arena.

"Fans, we are live in Amarillo, Texas!" Shaffer said, getting a great, albeit cheap pop, "We are just a few miles up the road from The Double Cross Ranch, home of the famous Funks! Tonight, Terry Funk has promised us all a huge surprise. What could it be? Fans, you've got to see this event! It's not too late! Order now!"

"On top of that," he continued, "We've got two colossal title matches as well as the final two ITC qualifying rounds. This is the NWATNA stars' last chance to join the list of teams slated to appear at next week's extravaganza in Santa Fe. Plus, J.R. Ryder takes on Christopher Daniels and Steve Corino makes his first title defense against Brian Kendrick! It's Total NonStop Action... and it begins in seconds!"

Dangerous Details: A Funkin' Homecoming

By "Danger" Will Riker

"We are live and this is Total NonStop Action!" Mike Tenay said as a shot of the red-hot crowd was shown, "I'm Mike Tenay alongside Don West and we are just one week away from crowning brand new World Tag Team champions in the biggest challenge in tag team wrestling history! It's going to be a momumental show next week, live from Santa Fe!"

"Enough about that!" Don West said, "Why talk about next week's title match? We've got TWO championships being decided here tonight! Not only that... what in the world could Terry Funk have in store for us? We are set for the wildest two hours of wrestling this week, so let's send it to the ring and kick things off right!" With that, Tres Locos' theme hit and out came the team of Psicosis and Super Crazy.

ITC QUALIFYING ROUND MATCH

SUPER CRAZY replacing Juventud Guerrera & PSICOSIS vs. THE JUNG DRAGONS

"Don, neither of these teams have been on the same page in recent weeks," Tenay said, "Tres Locos has been slowly falling apart it seems. The Jung Dragons, on the other hand, have been struggling for a while, thanks to a series of miscommunications. All four of these athletes are just fabulous, but it will be the team that is able to coexist the best that will move on into the ITC."

Crazy and Yang locked up and performed a brilliant exchange of lightning-quick moves and countermoves, ending in a standoff that brought the crowd to it's feet. They circled the ring and locked up once more, but this time Yang took control, whipping Crazy into the ropes. Crazy bounced off and floored him with a spinning heel kick, then headed to the corner and scored with a great moonsault. He hooked the leg, but Mickey Jay got to only a two-count before Yang kicked out.

Crazy went for a suplex but Yang flipped out of it and landed behind him, then drove him face-first into the turnbuckle. He quickly spun him around and flung him across the ring to the other turnbuckle... then blasted him with a brilliant backflip dropkick, landing perfectly on his feet! As Crazy collapsed to the mat, Yang saluted the crowd... then Kaz Hayashi reached in and tagged him! "I don't think Yang was looking for a tag," West remarked as Yang watched on annoyed as Kaz crashed down as Crazy with a gorgeous springboard shooting star press.

Yang shouted for Kaz to go for the cover, but Hayashi ignored him and stepped through the ropes onto the apron, looking to provide fans with an instant replay. He leapt up and flipped into the springboard shooting star... but came crashing down on Crazy's knees! Crazy crawled over and tagged Psicosis who immediately attacked Hayashi's injured ribs with a big dropkick to the chest.

Psicosis used a Russian leg sweep to take Kaz down, then tied him in an octopus stretch, continuing to tear at his abdomen. Hayashi managed to slip a toe onto the bottom rope but Psicosis continued pouring on the pain with stomps. Psicosis pulled Kaz up and delivered a beautiful huracanrana, then tagged in Crazy who used a slingshot senton to crush Kaz' ribs even further. Remarkably, Kaz kicked out at two from Crazy's pin.

Crazy whipped Hayashi into the ropes, where he made a blind tag to Yang. Kaz ran right into Crazy's boot, then Crazy set him up for a powerbomb. As Yang climbed up top... Hayashi countered the powerbomb into a huracanrana! Yang, sensing the perfect opportunity, signaled for Yang Time! As he prepared to launch into the spiral moonsault... Hayashi tapped him on the back and told him no!

"What in the world?!" West asked as Hayashi pulled Crazy up, then hoisted him up in a suplex, shaking beneath his weight. He ordered Yang to grab Crazy's feet and spike him down with the Dragon Driver, but Yang pleaded with his partner to put Crazy back down and spare his damaged ribs. Just then... Psicosis stepped through the ropes and rushed at Hayashi! Thinking quickly, Yang leapt off the top and obliterated him with a killer missile dropkick!

Hayashi, no longer able to support Crazy's weight in the suplex, had to set him down, at which time Crazy quickly rolled him up in a small package. Mickey Jay, realizing Yang was indeed the legal man, refused to count the pin. Yang slowly got up... then Juventud Guerrera rushed out! Guerrera spun Yang around and spiked him with the Juvi Driver! The move was done in plain sight of Jay who immediately called for the bell.

WINNERS: The Jung Dragons via disqualification at 14:33

Crazy let go of the small package and stood up, assuming he had just picked up the win. He raised his arms... then stared right into the eyes of Juventud Guerrera as The Jung Dragons' theme began to play. Hayashi rolled out of the ring, clutching his ribs, then looked on in disbelief as his unconscious partner's hand was raised in victory. Meanwhile, Guerrera looked at Crazy and said "I was only trying to help!"

"Mike, what did we just see?" West asked as the ring was cleared, "Was Juventud Guerrera actually interfering on the Locos' behalf... or did he deliberately cost them the match?! How deep is the rift between the Locos? I mean, he did attack The Jung Dragons... but one would think he would know better than do it right in front of the referee. I just... I don't know what is going on, but The Jung Dragons have just made their way into the Iron Team Challenge!"

Terry Funk's music hit and out came the incomparable Funker to a raucous ovation. Funk was dressed to wrestle, donning the tights, shirt and black hat, carrying a branding iron as well as a small bag. "Uh oh!" West said, "I guess the surprise is on, Mike! The hometown boy is in the house!" Funk waved out to the crowd as he finished the long walk down the aisle, then climbed all four turnbuckles and riled them up even more.

"I've been around the world," he said, "I've spilled blood, my own and others, on damn near every continent God created. I've traveled by plane, train and automobile and you can bet that I've done my share of walking, but at the end of the day, there's only one thing I know for sure. There is no place on Earth... like home. Thank you all." The crowd popped for Funk's sincerity and began chanting his name.

"Now, I know you all know I promised you a surprise tonight," he said, "And I'm not here to disappoint. However, the surprise isn't for you. It's for somebody else. It's for another guy who knows just how great it is to be here tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome from the NWA Championship Committee... and right here in Amarillo, Texas... Dory Funk Jr.!"

Dory came out, smiling and high-fiving some fans, but seeming a bit perplexed. He entered the ring and embraced his little brother as the "Funk" chants fired up again. "I'm not going to beat around the bush, big brother," Terry said, handing Dory the bag, "For you." Dory took the bag and smiled suspiciously at his brother, then peeked inside. "Oh, no!" he said, throwing the bag down, "No, no, no!" As the bag hit the mat... a wrestling boot popped out of it.

"Hold on," Terry said, "I had a talk with Shane Douglas earlier tonight. I cashed in a little favor. Dory, I'm 58 years old. You're 61. I know you're ready to leave all this behind... but I'm not. I never will be. Dory, what I'm asking is you to slip those boots on and stand at my side tonight, brother. I'm asking you to help me show this company that we can still do a thing or two in this ring. Most of all, I'm asking you to help me show a couple guys that they're in our town... and they better never come back!"

"Who?" Dory asked. Just then... The Honky Tonk Man's music hit! Honky stepped through the curtain to a loud chorus of boos, then waved and posed to the legion of unappreciative fans. He looked to his side... then reached through the curtain and dragged Buckwheat out by his wrist! Buckwheat frowned as Honky posed, watching his partner's antics in disbelief. Meanwhile, in the ring, Dory watched as NWATNA's most annoying stars made their way to the ring. "Give me those boots," Dory quickly said.

ITC QUALIFYING ROUND MATCH

THE FUNK BROTHERS vs. BUCKWHEAT & THE HONKY TONK MAN

Dory bent down to lace up the boots... but HTM struck, driving his knee into Dory's head! With his opponent rocked, Honky twisted the arm and began pulling Dory towards his corner. Dory quickly recovered and popped HTM with his free hand, knocking him silly! Funk used a series of stiff European uppercut to send Honky staggering around the ring, then a final one to put him right down.

Dory tagged in Terry who snatched Honky up by the hair, scooped him up then slammed him down hard. As Buckwheat ordered his partner to rally back, Funk hoisted Honky up for a suplex then dropped him down again. Funk pulled Honky towards the corner and climbed up, looking for the moonsault. He jumped off, but HTM rolled out of the way, causing Funk to crash to the canvas.

Honky got up, pointing to his head, boasting of his superior intellect. Meanwhile, Funk crawled to the corner and grabbed hold of the branding iron. HTM turned to capitalize... then saw the weapon pointed directly at him! He elicited a girlish squeal and hightailed it to the corner, tagging in Buckwheat, then leaping through the ropes to safety. "The Honky Tonk Man wanted absolutely no part of that!" West cried out.

Buckwheat entered the ring and dodged Terry's attack with the weapon, then connected with a hard punch to the gut. 'Wheat rocked the Funker punch after punch, then whipped him off into the ropes and sent him high into the air with a back body drop. Buckwheat danced arrogantly as Funk slowly got to his feet. "What's my name?!" he shouted, to which the crowd replied "Buckwheat!" Funk nailed his irate foe with a desperation clothesline, then reached Dory for the tag.

Dory quickly rolled Buckwheat up for a cover but only got a two-count. He hooked him up for a suplex... but Buckwheat countered and spiked him with the N-Bomb! Buckwheat made a cover... then pulled Dory's shoulders up just before the three count! Buckwheat pulled Funk up and kicked him in the gut, then bounced off the ropes and launched into the scissor kick. At the last second... Funk stood up and caught the leg! He fired off a series of stiff chops, swept Buckwheat's leg out from under him, then spun around and cinched in a spinning toe hold!

As Buckwheat struggled to escape, HTM climbed back into the ring to make the save. He charged towards Dory... but Terry stepped in and menacingly thrust the branding iron at him! Again, Honky let out a feminine squeal and ducked out of the ring. Terry grabbed Buckwheat's free leg and twisted it, hooking in a double spinning toe hold! The Funk Brothers took turns twisting and rotating around their helpless foe's legs until he was left with no other option but to give up.

WINNERS: The Funk Brothers via submission at 12:27

"They did it!" Tenay screamed as the crowd cheered on their hometown heroes, "The Funk Brothers are going to try to cap off a legendary run here in the NWA with their very first reign as World Tag Team Champions! When Terry Funk promises a surprise... he delivers!" Buckwheat scolded HTM as they made their exit, giving The Funk Brothers free reign to celebrate their victory in the ring.

"That's all of them," Don West said as a graphic appeared, showing pictures of the ten teams to have qualified for next week's Iron Team Challenge, "One of these teams will be the next to wear the NWA World Tag Team Titles. We'll have more on this in a bit, but right now... we've got another title to decide as the NWA World Title is on the line... right now!"

NWA WORLD TITLE MATCH

BRIAN KENDRICK vs. STEVE CORINO (champion) with Tully Blanchard

"This is the opportunity of a lifetime for young Brian Kendrick," Mike Tenay said, "On July 10th at X-Travaganza, he secured an NWATNA contract, but I'm sure he had no idea just four short months later, he'd be standing across the ring from the NWA World Champion." Kendrick started things off slowly, feeling Corino with a series of short hit and run attacks. From ringside, Tully Blanchard called for Corino to step in and be aggressive, but Corino chose to hang back and wait for his eager challenger to make a mistake.

That moment came when Kendrick missed a punch, enabling Corino to slip behind him and lock on a waistlock. From there, the champion German suplexed Kendrick down right on his head! Corino continued punishing the neck with a series of chops, followed by a crippling nerve hold, digging his fingers deep into Brian's trapezius. The crowd chanted for Kendrick to rally back, chanting "Let's go, Kendrick!" The young challenger heard their pleas and responded accordingly, throwing back a few elbows to break the hold.

Kendrick scored with a dropkick, knocking Corino into the ropes. As he fell back, Corino's arms were tangled between the top and middle rope, trapping him! Kendrick saw his opportunity and rushed across the ring to start his patented pinball combination of forearm strikes. Just then... Tully Blanchard climbed onto the apron and pushed referee Billy Silverman into the line of fire! Unable to stop, Kendrick clocked him with a forearm smash, wiping him out!

Blanchard rushed into the ring and charged at Kendrick... but he ducked a clothesline! Kendrick grabbed Tully by the head, then drove his feet into Corino's face as he flipped backwards into Sliced Bread #2! During the move, Corino pulled his arms free. As Kendrick shoved the unconscious Blanchard out of the ring, Corino nailed him from behind with a knee. Corino hooked Kendrick up and took him down with a fisherman's suplex... but there was no referee to count the fall.

As Corino lay there with his opponent pinned... the lights suddenly went out! A white lights shone up in the rafters as a red spotlight fell over the ring. Corino, alarmed, released Kendrick and stood up, looking skyward for whatever waited there for him. "Sting!" West said, "This has got to be Sting! Steve Corino, Christmas has come early for you, my friend! Get ready to feel the Sting!" Just as sudden as the lights had fallen, they returned and the spotlights disappeared.

Corino looked around, still unsure the threat has gone. Meanwhile, Brian Kendrick and Billy Silverman slowly came to and got up. Kendrick charged at Corino, attempting a flying headscissors on him. Amazingly, Corino dropped to his knees, spiking Kendrick head-first into the mat with a tombstone piledriver! Corino made the cover, but incredibly, Kendrick kicked out at just two. "Mike, the kid will just not die!" Don West exclaimed.

Corino spiked Brian's head down with a DDT and made a cover, but again Kendrick escaped before three. Sensing the end was near, Corino pulled Kendrick up and set him up for the Old School Expulsion. As Corino held him in a reverse DDT position... Kendrick used his tremendous agility to flip backwards, hooking Corino's head in the same position! He quickly dropped Corino in his own Expulsion and hooked the leg! "One! Two! NO!" Tenay said, "So close! Brian Kendrick nearly had it!"

Undaunted, Kendrick climbed up top and leapt off, driving his elbow deep into the heart of the downed World Champion. Another cover garnered another near fall, but Corino was still in it to win it. Kendrick gave the signal and grabbed Corino's head, looking for Sliced Bread #2. As Kendrick charged towards the corner... Corino reached up and grabbed a handful of his hair, jerking his head back and tucking it under his arm. Corino, with perhaps his last ounce of energy, swung his body to the side and scored with Old School Expulsion. From there, it was academic.

WINNER & STILL NWA WORLD CHAMPION: Steve Corino via pinfall at 19:12

"A gutsy performance by Brian Kendrick, but Corino retains the title," Tenay said, "Next week, he'll have the chance to add to that collection by..." Tenay was cut off when again the house lights shut down and a blood red spotlight shone on the triumphant champion. Somber music began to play as an image from the end of last week's show appeared on the video wall, showing Sting laying prone on the mat.

"An empire," a child's voice said over the music as the video image slowly faded to black and white, "Brought to it's knees by corruption, has seen it's salvation destroyed and watched it's faith die. The good people of this world, filled with hope for a better future, have been led to believe their cries for a hero have gone unheard. They have not. For the patient, the hour of redemption will come. For the wicked, the hour of remorse will come. And for the hero... the hour of revenge will come."

The black and white image of Sting and music both faded out, then in faded the sounds of ticking clock as the words "35 DAYS" appeared on the screen in red. Steve Corino quickly gathered up the title belt and made a hasty escape to the back, visibly unnerved by this ominous message. "35 days?" Tenay said, "That's Zero Hour! December 18th, Steve Corino will go one-on-one with Sting! fans, you're not going to want to miss that epic confrontation!"

"Fans," Tenay said, segueing into the next match, "We've got a ten man battle royal scheduled up next, but this match has huge ramifications in regards to next week's Iron Team Challenge. Next wek, ten teams will wrestle in a one-night nine-match gauntlet to crown the new NWA World Tag Team Champions. However, in this match, the order of that gauntlet will be decided. As a result, whoever wins this match... he and their partner will have secured a spot in the final title match!"

"It's pretty simple," West said, "The longer a wrestler lasts in this match, the easier time they'll have of it next week in the Iron Team Challenge. As Mike said, the winner gets a free ride as is only one match away from becoming an NWA Tag Team Champion. As for the first wrestler we see eliminated? Well, they'll certainly have a long night next week in Santa Fe!"

Sonny Siaki was the first to enter, joined by partner Jorge Estrada. He was followed by the massive Codekill who entered alone, just as he would at the ITC. Barry Windham escorted out Hope, along with his partner, Cade. Jayson Reign was next, joined by Trent Acid. Villano V represented Los Villanos, but Villano IV was there for moral support. C.W. Anderson entered sixth, sans Corino and Blanchard who were recovering from the NWA Title match moments earlier.

Rey Misterio Jr. was next, representing himself and Jerry Lynn. He was followed by Josh Prohibition, the Youthanazia rep, who was solo thanks to his partner's trip to Japan. Yang also came to the ring alone, perhaps indicating there was still friction between he and his fellow Jung Dragon, Kaz Hayashi. The final entrant was Dory Funk Jr. who got yet another rousing ovation from the hometown crowd.

TEN MAN BATTLE ROYAL

"There's the bell!" Tenay said, "We're off and running here with this pivotal match!" At first, the participants were wary to begin the action, each knowing what a first elimination would next for next week. Jayson Reign was first to find his nerve as he charged at C.W. Anderson. Anderson easily countered by hoisting Reign up and slinging his down with a classic Anderson spinebuster. However, as C.W. got to his feet... Prohibition and Villano V joined forces to dump him over and out!

"Anderson is out!" West said, "Oh, man! What an unfortunate break for The Extreme Horsemen! They'll have to beat ALL nine teams to win this thing next week!" Anderson protested the call as two of the numerous ringside referees ordered him to leave. As they were distracted... Cade and Windham reached up and pulled down the top rope, just as Hope popped Dory Funk Jr. with a hard right hand. They turned back just in time to see Dory go sailing over the ropes to the floor.

Meanwhile, Sonny Siaki climbed up top and leapt off, looking for a high cross body block. Unfortunately... his target was the 300-plus pound Codekill who easily caught him in mid-air. 'Kill drove Siaki down hard with a slam, then moved towards the ropes and stepped up onto the middle one, balancing himself in preparation for a big splash!

Just then... Rey Misterio Jr. charged and slung himself between the top and middle ropes, slingshotting around to clip Codekill's legs and causing him to tumble out to the floor! "Whoa!" West cried out as Misterio's innovative offense. Rey had little time to celebrate his success though. Reign quickly blasted with with a killer spinning heel kick. Reign hoisted Misterio up for a delayed vertical suplex and held him up for what seemed like an eternity. Unfortunately for Reign, as he prepared to drop him... Rey shifted his weight and landed behind him on his feet, then grabbed him by the tights and chucked him out!

Sonny Siaki and Yang quickly charged Rey for a double clothesline, but a duck and double dropkick later, both men were sent sailing out as well! Siaki hung on for a brief second, securing his team a bit later entry than Yang, but ultimately... the final four had been decided. "Rey Misterio Jr., Josh Prohibition, Hope and Villano V," Tenay listed, "One of these men is just one match away from the NWA World Tag Team Titles!"

Misterio attacked Hope, dropping him with a dropkick and then delivering a springboard legdrop. Rey pulled him up and launched into a huracanrana, sending both he and Hope over the top rope! Rey had a good grip on the rope... but Hope hung on to Rey for dear life! Just then... Cade and Windham swooped in, armed with a pair of steel chairs. They both set up the chairs at ringside, then each placed one of Hope's feet on them. Hope stood on the chairs and pulled Rey away from the rope... then powerbombed him to the floor, eliminating him!

"His feet never touched the floor!" West said as Hope high-fived his partner and manager, "Hope and Cade just found a way around the rules!" Hope stood on the chairs, sneering at the remaining two wrestlers in the ring. Josh Prohibition spiked Villano V with the Drunken Driver, then turned and saw Hope's taunts. As he reached out and swung at him, unable to reach from inside the ring... Villano IV rolled int the ring and helped his partner up!

Prohibition turned around just in time to see Los Villanos charging at him, then ducked their double clothesline. Their momentum sent them both up and over the top to the floor, eliminating them! With all but one opponent gone, Josh Prohibition threw caution to the wind and pounced over the top rope, attacking Hope with a flying attack! Hope caught him in mid-air and after steadying himself... back body dropped him off the chairs!

Incredibly, Prohibition managed to post his feet on the guard rail and hold onto Hope, keeping himself from hitting the canvas. With no other options, Prohibition pounced off the rail and dropkicked Hope, then in the lap of the front row! Hope fell straight down to the floor and the referees called for the bell, awarding the match to the daring Prohibition who still held one foot in the air amidst the chaos.

WINNER: Josh Prohibition via over the top rope elimination at 16:40

"That's it!" Tenay said, "Youthanazia have advanced to the NWA World Tag Team Title match next week! Josh Prohibition took a big risk, but it paid off! He and Matt Cross have earned a free ride to the finals!" Prohibition high-fived a group of enthusiastic fans as he climbed over the guard rail and raised his arms in victory. "We did it, M-Dogg!" he shouted into the camera, sending out a message to his tag partner.

Backstage, Tully Blanchard walked with C.W. Anderson to the locker room, patting the sullen "Enforcer" on the shoulder. "It'll be okay," Blanchard said, sounding rather unconvincing. Tully opened the door and prepared to enter... when Corino suddenly burst out of the room! "First?!" he shouted, "Of all the teams... WE are first?! What the hell happened out there?!"

"Listen to me, C.W.," Corino continued, calming his tone somewhat, "Do you understand the kind of pressure I am under here? I mean... I am the NWA World Champion. Every NWATNA star out there is looking at me with hungry eyes. Tonight, I had to face Brian Kendrick and I'll admit it... the kid took me to the limit. Not only that... but somewhere out there, Sting is watching me! Do you get that, C.W.? Do you have an appreciation for what I have to deal with?"

"Just one night," he said, "Just one... I thought I could turn my goal of becoming tag team champion over to you. Just for one night, that's all. And what happens? You blew it! I send you out there to represent The Extreme Horsemen and you come limping back like an old, beaten dog! Now, here you are, just like always... expecting me to clean up your mess for you. I mean, come on! Cut me a break here!"

"I'm sorry," Anderson said, almost embarrassed to have done so. Corino scowled angrily at his partner, then stopped and put his hand on his shoulder, almost as if to console him. "I know you are," he said, "And no matter what happens, I want you to know something. I trust you, totally and completely. I walk through this place week in and week out with all these people targeting me... and I know that at the end of the day, if there's one guy I can trust, it's you." Anderson nodded and smiled weakly.

"Still," Corino said, "You dug us a pretty damn deep hole... and there's only one way out. I'll tell you right now, this sure as hell isn't going to be easy... but I didn't come this far not to get the job done." With that, Corino offered Anderson a final pat on the shoulder, then turned and walked away, leaving his allies behind and heading off down a corridor. "Where's he going?" Anderson asked Blanchard as the two watched him walk away, then the shot faded back to the arena for the main event.

NWA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH

CHRISTOPHER DANIELS (champion) vs. J.R. RYDER

The grapplers circled the ring after the opening bell, sizing each other up. Daniels offered a gracious and respectful handshake to the challenger, which Ryder accepted... seconds before firing a wet gob of spit into Daniels' face! Ryder arrogantly smiled but quickly changed his moods as the enraged champion attacked, firing off punch after punch to his face! Daniels whipped Ryder off into the ropes, then scored with a big dropkick.

Ryder sat up, but Daniels threw another dropkick to his face, coming in low for a hard shot. Daniels forced Ryder's shoulders to the mat for two, but the cocky young challenger kicked out. Both men got back to their feet but Daniels remained aggressive, putting Ryder down with a uranage suplex. He headed to the corner and launched into the Best Moonsault Ever... but Ryder rolled out of the way, treating the champ to a faceful of canvas.

Ryder grabbed Daniels' feet and flipped him over, locking in a Boston crab on him. As the crowd rallied behind the "Fallen Angel", Ryder shouted out for them to shut up. Powered by the roar of his fans, Daniels willed himself to the ropes, crawling on his hands until he reached them. Referee Chuck Berry ordered Ryder to release the hold, but it took him until the count of four to do so.

As Daniels struggled to get up, Ryder stomped away on him, keeping him down. He pulled him up as he taunted the crowd, then delivered a big dropkick, putting the X-Division Champion back on the mat. Ryder pounced on the middle rope and flipped off, scoring with a moonsault, then hooked the leg. The referee got to two before Daniels raised his shoulder. "The champion is in a bad way here," West said, "We could be looking at a title change, folks."

Ryder attempted to whip Daniels to the ropes, but Daniels reversed it. Unfortunately for him, Ryder caught him with a spinning heel kick flush on the chin, then kipped up and extended his arms out, shouting "Ripcord!" signaling for his finisher of choice. He pulled Daniels up and jumped, looking for the huracanrana. Daniels held his ground, forcing Ryder to backflip off of his shoulders. Seconds after Ryder gracefully landed on his feet... Daniels kicked him in the gut and spiked him with the Angel's Wings sit-out pedigree!

"One! Two! NO!" Tenay said, "I don't believe it! Ryder kicked out!" Daniels too was in disbelief, but it lasted only moments. He pulled Ryder up to his feet, snatched his head under his arm and slung him to the mat with Last Rites. That was enough to render the challenger helpless. "A big win for the 'Fallen Angel'!" Tenay said as the call came down, "The X-Division Title is staying put, at least for now, around the waist of Christopher Daniels."

WINNER & STILL NWA X-DIVISION CHAMPION: Christopher Daniels via pinfall at 8:34

"Man, we've had a great time in the Lone Star State," West said, "The past six weeks have been great and I can't wait until NWATNA brings us back... but I really can't wait to see where we go from here! Fans in New Mexico, Arizona and California... get ready! Total NonStop Action is coming to your town soon!"

"Fans, we hoped you enjoyed A Funkin' Homecoming," Tenay added, wrapping up the show, "Please join us next week, live from Santa Fe for the Iron Team Challenge! Ten teams, one night... new World Tag Team Champions! If you can't be with us live in New Mexico, please join us at home on pay-per-view. For Don West, I'm Mike Tenay saying good night from Amarillo!"

Instead of fading to black, the scene cut to footage in the parking lot. Jeff Jarrett stood, loading a suitcase into the trunk of his car. As he slammed the trunk shut, a faint voice was heard saying "Wait!" Jarrett paused and looked around, then dismissed it and unlocked his door. "I said 'Wait', dammit!" the voice repeated. Just then... up walked Steve Corino!

"Hold on a second, Jeff," Corino said, "Just listen. A few months back, you came to me and you asked me for a favor. Remember? You came to me and you asked me for help. I extended my hand to you that night, Jeff, and we made a deal. The last thing I told you was that you owed me one. Well, I told you one day I'd come to collect and today..."

"Save it," Jarrett said, cutting him off, "I don't owe you a damn thing. The fact that you're wearing that belt around your waist proves that joining forces with you was the biggest mistake I ever made. What I did last week? That was about Sting. I wanted to let him know exactly what I thought of him and the way he's using his authority to get that belt for himself before I left. Now that I have... I have no use for NWATNA, it's politics... and especially you."

"Really?" Corino said, "Well, let me just ask you then... where you going? Huh? What's next for the 'chosen one'? Face it, Jeff. NWATNA is where you want to be. You heading to NWARoH? I've been there, Jeff. There's nothing for you there. You heading up north to WWE? You want to talk about politics?! No, Jeff. I see what you're going to do. Two weeks ago, you quit. Last week, here you are. Now, this week... here you are again. You're not leaving nothing."

"So," he continued, "The way I see it... you're running out of options, Jeff. What do you do? Go to Dory Funk Jr.? Shane Douglas? Sting?! Are you going to beg them for your job back? Ha! They wouldn't even take your phone call, much less take you back! Face it, Jeff. There's only one door back into NWATNA... and luckily, you're looking right at it."

"What?" Jarrett said, "What are you talking about?" Corino smiled, then placed his arm around Jarrett's shoulder. "Picture it," he said, "Dory and Shane, sitting in their office... Sting, just a memory... you and I walk in, draped in gold. We say we want the main event. We say we want the night off. We say we want a raise. We say we want whatever we want! You think they'll tell the World Champion no? You think they'll tell the World TAG Champions no?"

"You want NWA gold?" he asked, "Well, here's the opportunity. No petitioning the committee for a title shot. No political bullshit. You stand at my side next week in Santa Fe and you've got it. You've got a chance to become one-half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions. It's a hell of a challenge, but after what we did to Sting..."

"WE?!" Jarrett said, "Whoa, slapnut! Slow down. 'We' didn't do anything to Sting. I was the one who put the precious hero of the championship committee down. I did it myself, and as I already told you... it had absolutely nothing to do with you. With one guitar shot, I washed my hands of Sting. He's your problem now."

"You don't understand," Steve said, "Sting isn't a problem for anyone now... thanks to US. I mean, look at tonight. He's trying to get inside my head, make me paranoid with his little lighting tricks and creepy music. That's desperation. You breaking that guitar over his head had to hurt like hell, Jeff. However, going to bed knowing that when it was all said and done, I was the one who got the pin... that's what REALLY hurt Sting. What you did, what I did... what WE did completely broke him."

"We make a great team," Corino concluded, "I'm telling you. I wouldn't even ask you if I wasn't absolutely sure it was the only way. I realize it though. I need you, Jeff... and deep down, you realize you need me too. All that remains is for you to shake my hand, stand at my side and together with me... we turn NWATNA upside down!" Corino held out his hand and smiled, urging Jeff to agree to reunite their unholy alliance. "Besides," he added, "You owe me."

Corino's comment made Jarrett smile. He took Corino's hand and shook it, causing Corino to laugh happily. Corino's laugh faded out uneasily as he looked at Jarrett's smiling face, then grew strangely concerned. "You've got a deal, partner," Jarrett said, releasing his hand, "I'll see you next week." Jarrett turned and climbed into his car, then started it. He rolled down the window and stuck out his arm. "Oh, and... I guess now you owe me one... champ," he said, thumping on Corino's belt with his knuckle and chuckling. With that, he backed out and sped off into the night.

The wait is over because this Wednesday, the NWA World Tag Team Titles will have new owners! Fans, the tag team wrestling drought is officially over and you're not going to want to miss the most incredible night of action live! Ten teams will do battle in an epic nine-match gauntlet to determine the new champions! It all begins with...

STEVE CORINO & JEFF JARRETT: As we learned at the tail end of Wednesday's show, NWA World Champion Steve Corino has opted to substitute fellow Extreme Horseman C.W. Anderson for the newly-reinstated Jeff Jarrett. Corino and Jarrett have tried to co-exist in the past... with both glorious and disasterous results. Can they do the unthinkable and win nine straight matches to become tag team champions? We'll find out when they start things off with...

THE FUNK BROTHERS: The epic legend of The Funks continued in their hometown as they qualified for the ITC last Wednesday. Could it continue with two former NWA World Champions becoming tag champs? If they will, they must go through...

CODEKILL: Following the October 12th car accident involving Michael Shane, Codekill was asked to relinquish his spot in the ITC. He quickly reclaimed it by decimating two top teams from Combat Zone Wrestling. Some say Codekill is at a decided disadvantage thanks to the loss of his partner. Others say he may be the first man to successfully claim both tag titles for himself. If he does, he must first defeat...

ACID REIGN: Trent Acid and Jayson Reign have emerged as one of the top young teams in NWATNA. With the well-traveled Acid and the hungry Reign's remarkable skills, they may be the dark horse candidate to win the whole thing. They aren't the only team who may make an upset...

THE JUNG DRAGONS: Yang and Kaz Hayashi have struggled as of late in NWATNA as their teamwork seems to degenerate with each match. Thanks to the vindictive nature of Juventud Guerrera, they were unlikely qualifiers for the challenge. They'll need to be at their best to get past...

THE DREAM TEAM: Under the tutelage of Dusty Rhodes, Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada has made great strides in progressing towards becoming NWATNA's top teams. With youth and teamwork on their side, combined with a solid spot, they could pull out a win over...

JERRY LYNN & REY MISTERIO JR.: In a veritable X-Division dream team, Lynn and Misterio qualified by eliminating Ken Shamrock and The Amazing Red from NWATNA, at least temporarily. With their arch-nemeses gone, Jerry and Rey are riding high as they try to beat...

LOS VILLANOS: On October 30th, Los Villanos qualified as part of a wild and crazy tag bout against Los Fabulosos. Granted, the duo received considerable assistance from La Parka, but they are the only team coming with back-up...

HOPE & CADE: The young duo from Texas will be escorted to the ring by Barry Windham and have a prime spot, being a mere two wins away from the gold. This is a duo, or rather trio, who will stop at nothing to emerge victorious. One of the matches they must win is against an unknown team, but provided they succeed, they know their final round match will be against...

YOUTHANAZIA: Matt Cross and Josh Prohibition have become wildly popular due to their exploits in various independent promotions and their harrowing antics on NWATNA pay-per-views. By virtue of Josh's breathtaking victory last Wednesday, they received a free ride to NWATNA's very first NWA Tag Team Title match. With a golden opportunity at their feet, will they cash in?

NWARoH Scramble Madness DVD Review

By Bill Banks

IPB Image

On Sale December 28th

Scramble Madness: A Rise & A Fall is the third release by NWARoH and features exclusive footage of the Scramble Madness event filmed on November 16th, 2002. Chris Lovey and Gary Michael Cappetta provide commentary for all of the matches.

1. THREE BECOME TWO

The opening bout was all about the Young Lions' Cup as Adam Jacobs, Super Dragon and Shelton Benjamin did battle. The key to victory was not in making a pinfall, but rather in not being pinned yourself. With the final two men moving on the the final round, it was indeed "winners take all". One of these men, however, would go home empty-handed.

- Shelton and Dragon double-teamed Jacobs for at least 3/4 of the match.

- They knocked him out with a double superkick.

- Dragon went for the cover... but Shelton pulled him up, demanding HE make the pin!

- Dragon threw Benjamin out of the ring, then hit the Psycho Driver II on Jacobs and pinned him.

- Adam Jacobs has been eliminated!

- Rating: 53% (CR: 43, MQ: 76)

Runtime: 8 minutes

2. THE TIME TO SHINE

In the first of a series of "Scramble Madness Qualifyers", Brian XL battled a young upstart from the Canadian indies, Chance Beckett. These two didn't disappoint in keeping with NWARoH's tradition of great matches... but the ending was a bit less than "honorable".

- Great back and forth match with XL having a bit of an edge.

- "Prime Time" Elix Skipper came out on crutches to get a closer look.

- When referee Mike Kehner's back was turned... Skipper nailed Brian with the crutch!

- Beckett hit the Chance Encounter and scored the pin!

- After the match, Beckett high-fived Skipper and the two left together!

- Rating: 58% (CR: 56, MQ: 74)

Runtime: 16 minutes

3. A FUTURE HORSEMAN?

Both Johnny Swinger and Frankie "The Future" Kazarian know what it means to be under the bright lights of the NWATNA pay-per-view shows and want to return. The former TNA stars battled in a terrific "Scramble Madness Qualifyer" giving their all and leaving the fans speechless.

- Really short, but good match which got VERY little crowd reaction.

- Swinger blocked a huracanrana and powerbombed Frankie.

- Johnny went for the Swing Shift cobra clutch legsweep.

- Kazarian spun around and hit Wave Of The Future for the pin!

- Rating: 45% (CR: 24, MQ: 78)

Runtime: 5 minutes

4. MATCH OF THE YEAR?

EZ Money made his NWARoH debut against the incredible young star Paul London. Fans, this match must be seen to be believed. Many of the moves involved don't even have names! The finishing sequence will have your jaw on the floor... not to mention what follows the pinfall!

- Amazing match.

- London hit three quick dropsaults at the opening bell.

- London got caught with Money In The Bank... but kicked out!

- EZ went for the Money Clip... but London nailed him with a dropsault!

- London climbed up top and hit London Calling for the upset pinfall!

- Afterwards, EZ attacked London and nailed him with the Million Dollar Dream suplex bomb!

- Rating: 62% (CR: 51, MQ: 88)

Runtime: 9 minutes

5. LOSER LEAVES NWARoH

When Simply Luscious left the ruthless Prince Nana for A.J. Styles, many fans were relieved. However, this blood feud has boiled over to the point that NWARoH is simply not big enough for the two of them! If A.J. can defeat Nana, Nana will be forced to leave NWARoH. If not... Luscious will! Not only that, but the winner moves on to the Scramble Madness main event! Believe me when I say, the ending to this match will stun you.

- Nana got in a lot of offense, mostly focusing on A.J.'s neck.

- Nana spiked A.J. on his head with a brutal butterfly piledriver.

- Nana hooked on a sleeperhold, but A.J. fought his way out!

- A.J. floored Nana with a dropkick... then called for the Styles Clash!

- Just then... Simply Luscious hit Nana with a low blow, right in plain view of the referee!

- A.J. was immediately disqualified!

- Seconds later... TAKA Michinoku hit the ring and hit the Michinoku Driver!

6. LEGION OF DOOM

Allison Danger-Michinoku has long promised an influx of talent from her husband TAKA's Michinoku Pro promotion in Japan. She finally delivered at Scramble Madness. NWARoH was invaded by the biggest stable in it's short history and perhaps the most dominant.

- Allison joined TAKA, Luscious and Nana in the ring, along with two other men.

Allison: "We told you! We told you the invasion was coming, but you didn't listen! Say hello to the greatest group in NWARoH history... THE FOREIGN LEGION!"

Luscious: "A.J., you stupid redneck idiot! Why would I be with you when I could be a true-to-life princess? You fell for it hook, line and sinker. You even believed I'd put my career in your hands! A.J., you may have lost... but I'm not going anywhere. Except Ghana, that is. I have subjects to rule over."

Nana: "When Mrs. Michinoku came to me and asked me to finance an invasion from Michinoku Pro, I was all for it. However, when she told me that not just TAKA... but Dick Togo and Men's Teioh were coming, I was practically orgasmic! You all know that there's an open spot left in tonight's main event. I purchased that spot. That, along with the one I just secured by defeating A.J., I humbly offer to our guests. Togo, Teioh... tonight you two will have the chance to become NWARoH Champion!"

- Togo and Teioh accepted the offer and added themselves to the Scramble Madness main event!

- Rating: 61%

Runtime: 5 minutes

7. STRANGE RINGFELLOWS

After Glory By Honor, NWARoH fans were left wondering if Mafia & Joey Matthews could coexist as a team. Joining forces with a mortal enemy is one thing... but doing so against your own partner is another. Christian York & Monsta Mack joined forces to challenge their respective tag team partners for the NWARoH Tag Team Titles. One thing is certain. Wrestling makes for some strange ringfellows at times.

- Both teams played up the uncomfortableness of the team structures.

- Neither of the regular teams would wrestle each other, keeping it either Joey and Mack or York and Mafia in the ring.

- Mafia finally tagged in Matthews... then suplexed him into the ring!

- York made the cover, actually trying to pin his partner!

- Matthews kicked out, then rolled York up and hooked the tights for the pin!

- Joey Matthews & mafia retain the titles!

- After the match, York shouted at Matthews for cheating to win.

- Da' Hit Squad then laid them out with a pair of powerbombs!

- Rating: 53% (CR: 50, MQ: 69)

Runtime: 16 minutes

8. THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN

The ten-man scramble was set... save for one spot. It would go to a Brit and the winner of this bout. "The Anarchist" Doug Williams, only weeks removed from being turned away from the NWARoH Title by Xavier, took on "The Phoenix" Jody Fleisch in a battle between two Englishmen with everything to gain and nothing to lose. Would Fleisch's agility prove superior to Williams' mat technique or vice versa? Find out by watching this NWARoH classic!

- Another quick but good match.

- Williams overpowered Fleisch the entire match, brutally beating on him.

- Williams hit the Chaos Theory and scored the pin.

- Rating: 54% (CR: 51, MQ: 72)

Runtime: 6 minutes

9. THE MYSTERY ENDS

After being brutally assaulted by The Natural Born Sinners, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson ordered a tag team match, complete with a surprise partner. Danielson's choice did not disappoint and fans were treated to a glorious tag team contest as only NWARoH can provide.

- Danielsn revealed his selected partner... Jose Maximo!

- Danielson locked Boogaloo in Cattle Mutilation... but Boogaloo managed to break the hold!

- Homicide attempted a Cop Killa on Jose, but Maximo reversed it!

- Boogaloo hit Jose with the Shining Wizard, then Homicide hit one... then Boogaloo hit another!

- Boogaloo pinned Jose Maximo to win the match!

- After the bell, The Sinners hit Danielson with the same Shining Wizard combo!

- Rating: 57% (CR: 54, MQ: 74)

Runtime: 15 minutes

10. HONOR PERSONIFIED

At Scramble Madness, Jose Maximo proved that honor goes beyond handshakes and rope breaks. It's about doing the right thing, not just for yourself, but for others. With one incredible selfless act, Jose set forth an example by which all future NWARoH wrestlers will be held.

- Maximo took up a microphone.

Jose: "Hold on a second. Before we get underway with the main event, there's something I need to say. I know a lot of you remember me and my brother from the NWATNA pay-per-views this past summer. Those were a lot of fun and I've wanted to go back for a long time. This past week... I got a call from Jerry Jarrett saying he wants Los Maximos back on pay-per-view!"

- This was met with a mixed reaction.

Jose: "Unfortunately... that means that tonight is my last night here in NWARoH. Now, I've got a choice. I could let the last image you people remember seeing of me be me getting my head kicked in by Homicide and Boogaloo... or I could let the last image you people remember seeing of me be me holding the NWARoH Title over my head!

- This got a nice pop.

Jose: "However, that's good for me... but not NWARoH. I'd love to leave here saying I left on top, but that would mean the top guy was leaving. NWARoH deserves a champion who'll be at Final Battle and who'll defend the title on every NWARoH show. That's why I'm officially bowing out of tonight's match. Right now... I'd like to call A.J. Styles out here."

- A.J.'s music hit and he limped out, still beat up from the Foreign Legion's attack.

Jose: "A.J., tonight you were done wrong... and I want to make it right. You take my spot in the match. You win the NWARoH Title. You defend it with honor! Don't let Tgo, Teioh or anyone else tarnish that belt. Bring honor to it, yourself and these fans. They're the best fans in the world, man. Do 'em proud."

- A.J. shook Jose's hand and then hugged him, thanking him for the opportunity.

- The crowd cheered Jose's selfless act and gave him a standing ovation as he left.

- Rating: 67%

Runtime: 8 minutes

11. SCRAMBLE MADNESS

Ten men, all vying for the NWARoH Title, do battle in the craziest match in NWARoH history! It can only be Scramble Madness! Xavier defended the gold against nine others in a match that saw the unthinkable actually occur. In the end, the face of NWARoH was changed forever. If you think a ten way match would be nothing more than a big mess, you have GOT to see this match!

- All ten men were in the ring simultaneously and could only be eliminated by pinfall.

- The title would be on the line for the duration of the scramble.

- Paul London nearly pinned Little Guido Maritato after a dropsault.

- Teioh hit Chance Beckett with a choke bomb, then Togo dropped the senton and pinned him!

- Homicide drilled Frankie Kazarian with the Cop Killa and pinned him.

- Doug Williams used Chaos Theory to obliterate London and get an easy pin.

- A.J. Styles and Xavier attacked Togo & Teioh.

- Styles missed a dropkick on Teioh and hit Xavier!

- Togo pinned Xavier to become the NEW NWARoH Champion!

- Togo escaped the Cop Killa and rolled Homicide up for the pin.

- Togo and Teioh began brawling it out in the center of the ring!

- Togo countered the choke bomb and hit Teioh with a huracanrana for the pin!

- Four men remained: Williams, Styles, Guido and Togo, the champion.

- Togo and Styles battled it out as Guido and Williams did battle.

- Guido countered the Chaos Theory and hit the Kiss Of Death to pin Williams!

- Guido hit the Sicilian Slice on Togo to become the NEW NWARoH Champion!

- Styles unleashed his entire arsenal on Guido, then pinned him after the Clash!

- J.J. Dillon came out and awarded the NWARoH Title to A.J. Styles!

T-Minus 10 Minutes: Iron Team Challenge

By Jimmy Kirk

"Fans, we are live in the desert!" Mike Tenay said, kicking off the program, "Santa Fe is the site and the NWA World Tag Team Titles are at stake. It's the Iron Team Challenge! Nine consecutive tag team matches, fought in gauntlet-style, with the last team standing being crowned the new champions! I'm Mike Tenay, here with Don West, and we've just got too much action to fit into our two-hour pay-per-view event! We're starting now!"

Steve Corino's music hit and the NWA World Champion made his way to the ring, flanked by Jeff Jarrett. The two walked to the ring, when suddenly... the lights went out! "What?!" Don West said, "Could this be happening already?!" The words "28 days" appeared on the video wall behind them as loud ticking was heard. The two stood amidst the glow of a red spotlight that followed them as they entered the ring.

The house lights returned, but an enraged Corino ripped the microphone away from the ring announcer. "Where are you, Sting?" he shouted, "Where are you hiding? It doesn't matter! I brought back-up with me this time. Face it, Sting... you just can't stand up to both of us! Jeff Jarrett is here to watch my back and I'm going to watch his. Together, when it's all said and done, we're going to do the impossible... again."

"Sting," Jarrett said, "The championship committee, the board of directors and everyone backstage... listen up! Tonight, I'm standing side-by-side with the champion and together we are going to turn this company upside-down! By the time we're finished, only two men are going to be left standing... the World Champion and the 'chosen one'! We are in control. We call the shots. We make the rules. Best of all... there's not a damn thing any of you can do about it!"

"That's right!" Corino said, "Tonight, all of NWATNA stands up and forms a line, marching down that aisle to their doom. Sting, if you want it, you can have a free pass to the front anytime you like! Just bring it on, Sting... because we'll be here ALL NIGHT! Now... bring on the first victims!" Corino passed the mike back to the ring announcer as the theme song of Terry Funk began playing!

The Funk Brothers hurried down the aisle and into the ring, immediately slugging away at Corino and Jarrett. The referee, Mark Johnson, called for the bell and ordered the match to begin. "Fans, we are now underway," Tenay said, "The winners of this match is going to move on to continue vying for the gold. The losers will be sent home with nothing. It's all on the line, and it begins... NOW!"

THE FUNK BROTHERS vs. JEFF JARRETT & STEVE CORINO

Terry and Corino spilled out of the ring as Dory fired off a series of hard jabs to the face of Jarrett. Outside the ring, Terry slung Corino into the guard rail, then stepped over and bashed his face into the cold, hard steel. As Terry beat Corino down, Dory tied Jarrett into an abdominal stretch, ripping at his rib cage with the classic submission hold. Jarrett tried to reach the ropes, inching his way closer... then hiptossed Dory up and over the top rope, causing him to hit hard on the floor below!

"My God!" Tenay said, "Fans, I'm sorry but we're out of time on our free show. The conclusion of this match, as well as the rest of the Iron Team Challenge is available for just $9.95! Don't miss it! Thank you for joining us. Next week, we're live in Albuquerque. See you then!" Jarrett climbed out of the ring and began putting the boots to Dory, prompting Terry to abandon Corino and come to his brother's aid. Dory writhed on the floor, clutching his back as the pre-show faded to black.

Two Q's:

1) The reason you had Kendrick get a title shot was because Corino had to defend his belt every thirty days - however, after he beat Kendrick, Sting's message was "35 days" - wouldn't he have to defend the title sometime between now and then as well?

2) So I guess, by your signature, Codekill will not win the survival match, since you say there will be TWO new NWA World Tag Team Champions. :-)

1) Wow. Keen observation. I didn't even notice that while I wrote this. As I stated once before, I write stuff out well before I post it just to prevent instances such as this. For example, I'm currently writing the December 11th show, so my thought process is often several weeks to a month ahead than what the posts on the board might suggest. Luckily, this issue is rectified in regards to another storyline... but shame on me for not clarifying it there.

2) Oops. I guess y'all got a free spoiler there. Like I said, it's been a while since I wrote this and I kind of forgot that Codekill worked solo. Sorry about that. :(

Anyway, those glaring errors aside... enjoy the ITC. :)

Dangerous Details: Iron Team Challenge

By "Danger" Will Riker

The match resumed when the pay-per-view show opened as Jarrett threw Dory back into the ring. Corino, with a small trickle of blood oozing forth from his often lacerated forehead, attacked Terry Funk from behind, knocking him to the floor. Mark Johnson counted Jarrett's pin, reaching two before Funk was able to kick free. Dory crawled towards the ropes, but Jarrett kept piling on the pressure, driving his boots into the small of his back. With his opponent completely under control, Jarrett tagged out to Corino.

Together, Jarrett and Corino whipped Dory across the ring, then flung him high into the air and down to the mat with a double back body drop. The referee ordered Jarrett to leave the ring as Corino continued pummeling Dory's spine, much to his little brother's dismay. Corino scooped and slammed Funk down, then made a cover for two. Corino got another two-count with a fisherman's suplex, causing the crowd to begin chanting for The Funks.

Dory began feeding off of the energy and got to his feet, then blasted Corino with a hard chop. He unleashed a few more, blistering Corino's chest and turning it an ugly shade of crimson. Out of desperation, Corino charged at Dory's, spearing him into the ropes. Jarrett quickly slipped his leg through the ropes, causing Dory's back to be driven hard into his knee! "Great teamwork by this team," Mike Tenay remarked, "Corino and Jarrett have quite a bit of history, but it seems on this night, they are absolutely working as a cohesive unit."

Despite the searing pain in his back, Funk rallied back, hitting Corino with a open-handed slap to the stomach. He hit another, then a series of chops, rocking Corino with each blow. Finally, he wound up and leveled Corino with a European uppercut, knocking him to the mat. With perhaps his last ounce of energy, Funk collapsed towards his corner, stretching his arm to tag in Terry.

The Funker came in like a house of fire, bashing Corino with big right hands. Jarrett rushed to his aid, only to suffer the same fate. Terry grabbed a handful of each man's hair... then drove their skulls together! As Jarrett wiped Corino's blood off his own forehead, Funk leveled him with a clothesline, knocking him over the top rope to the floor. He then turned and grabbed Corino's by the hair and drove his face into the turnbuckle ten times. Corino staggered out of the floor for a few steps, then began falling flat on his face. He quickly regained his composure and stopped his fall... then rushed to the corner and tagged in Jarrett!

"Jeff Jarrett doesn't look that excited about that tag," Don West noted as Jarrett reluctantly entered the ring, "The Funks have fought their way right back into this thing." Terry peppered Jarrett with a few sharp jabs, then grabbed his head and headed for the corner. Jarrett held his ground, grabbed Funk and dumped him on his head with a big back suplex! Funk got up quickly, but a swinging neckbreaker put him right back down, this time for a near fall. Jarrett stood over his downed opponent and began arrogantly strutting around the ring, signaling to the crowd it was time for the Stroke!

Jarrett pulled Terry up and positioned him for the move... but Funk blocked it! Funk quickly countered a scored with a big clothesline. Jarrett got right back up but fell victim to another. Funk popped Jarrett with three hard punches, kicked him in the gut, then spiked him with a piledriver! With Jarrett incapacitated, Funk headed up top. "He's looking to end it!" Tenay said, "Could it be... the Funkersault? He's going for... OH! Damn Steve Corino!"

Indeed, Corino interjected himself in the match, crotching Funk on the top rope as he perched atop it. Dory Funk Jr. climbed into the ring and immediately attacked him, nailing him with harsh chops. He clobbered Corino with a European uppercut with such force that it knocked him up and over the top rope. He then followed Corino to the outside to administer more punishment. However, it seemed to be all for naught as Jarrett slowly got to his feet, then moved over and grabbed Terry's head, preparing to drop him in a neckbreaker from the top rope!

Just then... C.W. Anderson hit the ring! He quickly kicked Jarrett in the gut, spiked him with a DDT and slipped back out of the ring, completely undetected by Mark Johnson, who was preoccupied with Dory's assault on Corino at ringside. "C.W. Anderson?" Tenay cried out, "What is the meaning of this? He just attacked Jeff Jarrett out of nowhere!" The attack proved to be the difference maker as Funk recovered and dropped onto Jarrett with the Funkersault, scoring the pinfall.

WINNERS: The Funk Brothers via pinfall at 17:14

"I can't believe it!" West said, "The dream isn't dead! The Funks are still in it... thanks to, of all people, C.W. Anderson!" Upon the ring announcer's decree, Dory Funk Jr. entered the ring and raised his partner's arms in victory, celebrating their success. Just then... Corino slid into the ring and clocked them both with the NWA Title! "Oh no!" West declared as The Funks hit the mat, "If they weren't already at enough of a disadvantage, now this?!"

As Corino stood over them, casting maniacal aspersions... Jeff Jarrett grabbed him and spun him around! He immediately got in his face, angrily informing of the events of moments prior. Corino looked puzzled and shook his head, telling Jarrett "no" repeatedly. Codekill's music hit and the monster lumbered to the ring as Jarrett and Corino made their exit, still arguing over the possibility of C.W. Anderson's betrayal.

CODEKILL vs. THE FUNK BROTHERS

"When Codekill announced he was going to be in this thing solo," West began, "I think we all thought he would be at a serious disadvantage. Looking at it now... I'm not so sure that's the case." Codekill quickly shoved Dory out of the ring at the bell, then began wailing away on Terry with punches in the corner. Funk could little more than cover up as the mammoth warrior pummeled him, showing absolutely no mercy. As always, the fans were at The Funk's side, chanting "Funk him up! Funk him up!"

Terry began to come back, blocking a punch and returning it. He caught Codekill flush on the jaw, jarring the big man. Unfortunately, The Funker killed his own momentum by attempting a bodyslam which, given his opponent's size, was futile. Codekill hammered Funk down to the mat, then dropped a big elbow on his chest. He made a cover but only got two. Funk again tried to mount a comeback, but a DDT stopped him dead in his tracks. If not for Dory's interference, Codekill would have surely finished the bout at that point.

Dory came in off the tag and charged at Codekill, but was swept up into a devastating powerslam. Codekill climbed up to the top rope, then waited for Funk to get up, ignoring Mark Johnson's instructions to get down. The dazed Funk finally rose up off the canvas... then was obliterated by a killer spear from the top rope! Codekill quickly hooked the near leg, but Dory managed to drape his foot on the bottom rope, breaking the count.

Codekill pulled Dory up and hoisted him into a torture rack, but Funk quickly and easily slipped out of it. He spun Codekill around, then blasted him with a stiff European uppercut. He fired off a few more, staggering the big man, then signaled out to the crowd and scored with a final one, toppling him. Dory tagged in Terry and together the two tried to apply the double spinning toe hold! Showcasing his incredible leg strength, 'Kill kicked both men away in one motion.

As the referee forced Dory from the ring, Terry missed with an elbowdrop. Codekill got up, lifted Terry in the rack, then spun him into a neckbreaker, driving him into the canvas! He made a cover but The Funker simply would not die. Finally, 'Kill decided to end it al by heading up to the top rope for a crushing splash. He jumped off... but Funk rolled out of the way! "Come on, Terry!" West screeched as he inched his way to his corner, "Make the tag!"

He just did that, bringing Dory back in. Dory pounded away on Codekill as he got up with kicks and punches, then scooped underneath him for a slam. Despite being out on his feet, Codekill didn't budge as Dory's ravaged back was far too weak to lift him. Luckily for Dory... Terry was there to help! Together, The Funks scooped and slammed the big man, then Dory latched on the spinning toe hold! Codekill stretched towards his corner, reaching for a partner who was simply not there. With no one to make the save and all other options exhausted, Codekill tapped out.

WINNERS: The Funk Brothers via submission at 10:00

"You know I love The Funks, Mike," West said as the music of Acid Reign hit, "But let's be realistic. They're both either near or over sixty and have fought two incredibly grueling matches thus far. Now, they are forced against a team that's not only fresher, but they're younger and hungrier too. I'm not saying the dream is dead, Mike. Not at all. I'm just saying... it may be on life support."

THE FUNK BROTHERS vs. ACID REIGN

The Funks' fatigue was all too evident at the start of the bout as Terry Funk could mount little more offense on Jayson Reign with a few weak headbutts. Reign fired back with hard punches, knocking Funk to his knees. Terry tried to fight back, but after a brutal knee strike to the face, he was down. Reign dropped a few elbows and knees onto Terry's leg, then hooked in a leg clutch submission hold on him. Funk gutted it out and reached the ropes, but he was obviously in dire straits.

Reign put Terry down with a huracanrana, then tagged in Trent Acid. Acid scaled the turnbuckles as Reign pulled Funk up to his feet, holding him in position for Acid's missile dropkick. Funk ducked... causing Acid to floor Reign with the move! He rushed over to tag in Dory who leveled Acid with a big clothesline. He made a cover, but Acid was able to kick out at one. Funk kept Acid on the mat with an armbar, using his mat wrestling skills to prevent Acid from making any sort of offense.

Funk drove his forearm into Acid's chest, pinning his shoulders down for two, then locked on a side headlock. Acid reached for his partner's hand but Dory's experience enabled him to cut them off from making the tag, keeping Acid just out of reach and he cranked away on his skull. Acid drove a few elbows to Funk's ribs, breaking his grip, then shoved him off into the ropes. He went for a dropkick... but Funk grabbed the rope, causing Trent to crash straight down on his back! With Acid down, Funk grabbed his foot and signaled for the spinning toe hold.

As Funk bent down to apply the hold... Acid reached up and poked him in the eyes! Dory blinded stumbled backwards, luckily hitting his own corner. Terry Funk tagged in, but Acid charged him instantly. He launched his foot at Funk for the yakuza kick... but Terry dropped to his knees and threw a punch, catching Acid square in the nuts! Funk kicked him in the groin as stumbled around the ring, clutching himself.

Funk whipped Acid into the ropes, where he made a blind tag to Reign. Acid bounced off into a Funk inverted atomic drop, again damaging his injured testes. As he bent down to pull Acid... Reign rushed in with a school boy roll-up. He yanked firmly on the trunks as Chuck Berry started the count. "Not like this!" Tenay screamed as the call came down, "Dammit! The Funks' night is over!"

WINNERS: Acid Reign via pinfall at 8:05

"They have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of," West said as Dory and Terry headed to the back, "I can't believe I'm actually saying this... but there may come another day for this team! If anything, tonight they proved they can hang with the best NWATNA has to offer. I bet the entire roster is going to look at the championship committee a bit differently from now on."

"Don, Acid Reign moves on," Tenay said as The Jung Dragons made their entrance, completely ignoring one another as they walked to the ring, "This next match is going to be pure X-Division action! Acid Reign escaped that last match pretty unscathed. I'm not sure how much of an advantage the Dragons are going to have when it comes to the fatigue factor. As far as teamwork goes, the Dragons need to step it up compared to their performance in recent weeks if they want to leave here tonight with the gold."

THE JUNG DRAGONS vs. ACID REIGN

As Acid tried to recuperate, Jayson Reign took over, locking up with Kaz Hayashi. Hayashi pushed Reign away from the lockup, then laced into him with vicious karate chops to the chest and kicks to the gut, battering him with rapid-fire shots. Reign could barely cover himself as Kaz unloaded on him. He finally managed to swing a punch at him... but Kaz ducked it and hoisted Reign up, bridging back with a killer German suplex! Hayashi got a two-count from Chuck Berry before Jayson kicked out.

Incredibly, Reign kipped up and waffled Kaz with a brutal kick to the face! With Hayashi dazed, Reign hoisted him up in a gorilla press, then splattered him stomach-first across his knee! Hayashi clutched his ribs, doubling over. Reign quickly swung his leg over Hayashi's head and spiked him with a rocker dropper! Having finished his impressive flurry of offense, Reign arrogantly walked to the corner and tagged in Trent Acid.

Acid pulled Hayashi up, hoisted him in a powerbomb... then ran across the ring and obliterated him with a running crucifix bomb into the corner! Hayashi's spine bounced off the turnbuckles and he fell face-first to the canvas, apparently unconscious. Acid casually strolled over to the corner, watching Hayashi as he struggled to get up. He slapped his thigh and stomped his foot, gearing up to drive the yakuza kick straight down Hayashi's throat. Kaz slowly got up... and dodged the blow, tumbling beneath Acid's leg and rolling to the corner to tag Yang!

Yang grabbed the rope and flipped into the ring, blasting Acid with a clothesline. Reign rushed in but Yang hit a drop toe hold... driving him face-first into his partner's crotch! Referee Chuck Berry ordered Reign to leave the ring as Yang pulled Acid up, then slammed him in the corner. Yang signaled for his exciting finisher then headed up to the top rope. "Mike, I think everyone in Santa Fe's got their watches synchronized!" Don West said, "It's Yang Time!"

Yang sailed off the top and crashed down on Acid, then hooked the leg. Chuck Berry refused to make the count, informing Yang that Kaz Hayashi had tagged himself in while Yang was on the top! Yang shot Kaz a glare as Hayashi scaled the ropes, then he left the ring. Acid slowly got up, only to be driven right down as Kaz leapt off the top and caught him with a spinning DDT! "One1 Two! NO!" Tenay said as Acid kicked free, "Don, Acid had a few precious seconds to recover from that Yang Time. I'm not sure he could have kicked out otherwise."

Hayashi pulled Acid up... but got blasted with a short yakuza kick out of nowhere! Acid was unable to get all of the move's power in such close proximity, but it successfully dazed Hayashi enough so that he could reach Reign for the tag. Reign charged Kaz... but ran right into a boot to the gut. Kaz ordered Yang to climb up top for the Dragon Driver! Yang scaled the turnbuckle as Hayashi hoisted Reign up for the brainbuster... but Reign shifted his weight in mid-air and landed behind Kaz, then shoved him into the corner, knocking Yang off-balance!

Reign lifted Kaz for a back suplex as Yang tried to steady himself. incredibly, Hayashi flipped out of the move and landed behind Reign, then spun him around and hoisted him up yet again! Unfortunately, Reign's legs hit Yang in the face and knocked him off the top rope out to the floor! The impact caused Kaz to lose his grip and lower Reign, allowing Jayson to quickly roll him up in a small package. The dazed Yang could do little more than watch helplessly as Berry registered the fall and awarded the bout to the other team.

WINNERS: Acid Reign via pinfall at 11:53

"Just when it seemed the woes of The Jung Dragons were over, this happens," Tenay said. The camera zoomed in close on Kaz as he rolled out of the ring. Yang patted him on the shoulder... but Hayashi quickly spun around and grabbed his wrist! The two locked eyes in an intense stare-down before Hayashi basically threw Yang's hand at him and walked off, leaving him behind at ringside. Yang threw up his hands and headed up the aisle, mumbling to himself. He passed through the curtain and walked right by Dusty Rhodes who reached out and patted him on the shoulder.

"Good effah out 'dere, bebey," Dusty said as Yang walked by. Dusty then turned to Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada, his proteges. "Awright," he said, "It's all you now, boys. Go out 'dere and do me proud! Tonight's the night, bebey! Een-dub-yay Tag Champeensheeps! Go get 'em!" Dusty high-fived his red, white and blue clad boys, then watched as they walked through the curtain out to the ring for the next match.

ACID REIGN vs. THE DREAM TEAM

Acid blasted Estrada as he stepped through the ropes with a big yakuza kick. As Siaki helped his partner up... Acid leapt over the top rope and caught him with a flying huracanrana! He pitched Estrada in under the bottom rope before putting the boots to Siaki on the floor. Inside, Reign dropped an elbow and made a cover, getting a two-count. "Acid Reign realizes that we're at our halfway mark," Tenay said, "There are still four teams left after this so the faster they can dispatch of their opponents, the more energy they can conserve for the second half of this gauntlet."

Acid and Reign continued to stomp away on their respective opponents both inside and out of the ring. Reign pulled Estrada up and drove his face into the turnbuckle ten times... then kept going! Acid climbed onto the apron as Reign punished Estrada, then took the tag. As Reign held Jorge, Acid fired off a brutal kick to the ribs. Reign left the ring and Acid tackled his opponent with a killer STO, then made a cover, only receiving two. Though firmly in command, Acid made a costly error by whipping Estrada into the ropes and ducking his head. Estrada stopped short, bounced off the ropes and spiked Acid with the Trip To Dreamland, a rolling neckbreaker!

Siaki came in off the tag and immediately went to work, firing off rapid-fire punches to Acid's head. He whipped Acid to the far side ropes, then bounced off the ropes himself, colliding with Acid for a brutal high-impact shoulder block! Reign rushed to save his partner... but got speared out of his boots! Siaki tagged Estrada who headed up top. as Siaki hoisted Acid onto his shoulders. "This could be it!" Tenay said, "This could be the R.E.M., that incredible doomsday blockbuster!" Estrada pounced off the top rope and grabbed Acid's head... but Reign shoved the referee into the way, causing Estrada to fall directly onto his head!

"My God!" Tenay said, "Somebody get in there and help Chuck Berry this instant! He could've been seriously hurt!" Estrada covered Acid as Reign rolled out of the ring, but Berry was in absolutely no condition to count anything but blessings and sheep. Siaki tried to wake the ref up and pulled him to his feet... but Reign attacked, leveling him with a chair! Berry slumped into the corner as Siaki was knocked out of the ring. Estrada got up and immediately began wailing away on Reign.

"This is pure chaos!" Don West shouted as Estrada hammered on Reign with hard punches, forcing him to drop the chair. Trent Acid, still suffering from the effects of The Dream Team's devastating finisher, slowly pulled himself to his feet. Siaki also got up, outside the ring. Estrada kicked Reign in the gut, then bounded off the ropes for the Trip To Dreamland. Just then... Reign picked up the fallen chair and blasted Estrada with it! Siaki slid into the ring with a chair of his own, ducked Acid's groggy attempt at a yakuza kick and nailed him with it!

Berry, barely conscious, was awoken by the sounds of the near-simultaneous chair shots. He looked to see Reign and Siaki both holding chairs while their partners lay writhing on the canvas. He called for the bell, waving the match off. "What happened?" Tenay said, "What's the call?!" The dazed referee shouted "Get them out of here! This is over!" and the ring announcer relayed the message. Siaki and Reign looked at each other, both blaming the other for having cost him the match. "Mike," Don West said, "What happens now?"

RESULT: no-contest via double-disqualification at 11:53

Billy Silverman emerged from the back to replace the injured referee along with some medics who helped carry him away from the ring. Siaki and Reign began protesting the call to the official, insisting their team was the ones who deserved to move on. Silverman ignored them and ordered all four men to the back. Just then... Jerry Lynn and Rey Misterio Jr. made their entrance.

"Lynn and Misterio are out here for the next match... but who are they facing?" West asked. Siaki helped Estrada up and left the ring, stopping to wish Jerry and Rey good luck. Reign shouted at the official for a few more minutes before helping Acid up and following The Dream Team out. Just then... Acid sprang to life and rushed at Siaki and Estrada, attacking them as they disappeared behind the curtain! Reign rushed over and the four continued to brawl as backstage attendants swarmed the scene.

"I'm getting word from the back," Tenay said, "The championship committee just held an emergency meeting and both Acid Reign and The Dream Team are out! Lynn and Misterio will receive a free pass. They need only win the remaining three bouts to become NWA World Tag Tam Champions! Talk about a lucky break!"

"Talk about an unlucky break for what we just saw," West said, "Neither Acid Reign nor The Dream Team were defeated, Mike. A double-disqualification notwithstanding... I'm just not sure that was the right call. That match should've continued until we had a winner. Still, the committee has decided and it looks like Jerry and Rey's chances of winning this thing just increased by a lot... not that they weren't the favorites to begin with."

Los Villanos emerged from the curtain and nervously made their way down the aisle, not having expected to take on a fresh team at this point. Villano IV and Villano V glanced at each other, seeming to wonder if they shouldn't just head back to the back. Just then... La Parka came out, wielding a chair! The maniacal skeleton chased Los Villanos into the ring where the bell sounded, then propped up the chair and stood atop it, applauding them.

JERRY LYNN & REY MISTERIO JR. vs. LOS VILLANOS with La Parka

"Mike, I don't get this at all," West said, "We saw La Parka help Los Villanos back at Devils' Night a few weeks ago, if you can call it 'helping', and now here he is in their corner tonight. What gives?" Villano IV and Rey locked up, with Villano powering Rey back into the neutral corner. He whipped Misterio across the ring... but Rey sprang up and pounced off, twisting into a cross body block! Meanwhile, La Parka pounded the mat and shouted instructions in Spanish.

"I have no idea why La Parka has taken an interest in Los Villanos here in NWATNA," Tenay said, "They all got their start in Mexico and shared some success in World Championship Wrestling, but beyond that... I'm stumped. Based on his actions, I'm not even sure he IS trying to help them." Villano IV crawled to the corner for the tag, but Villano V ate a spinning heel kick by Rey as Misterio continued to dominate the match.

Jerry Lynn got the tag and scored with a superkick on Villano V, then climbed up top. Before he could jump off, Villano IV climbed in and punched him in the gut. He climbed up, preparing to superplex Lynn down. Just then... La Parka jumped up onto the apron, waving him arms and shaking his head. Villano IV climbed down, as instructed, then looked at Parka. Parka held up one finger... then started doing the funky chicken. Villano shrugged... then was drilled into the mat by Lynn's tornado DDT!

"Well, whatever that advice was... didn't help," West noted. With Villano IV down, Lynn climbed back up top and jumped off, crushing the legal man, Villano V, with a big legdrop. With that done. Lynn peeled him off the canvas and hoisted him up for an airplane spin. Seconds later, he dropped him with the TKO, hooked the leg and got the pin. "Whoa!" Tenay said, as Rey entered the ring and hugged his partner, "Lynn and Misterio advance without breaking a sweat! A team that expected four grueling matches has now breezed through two with little... or NO challenge! Don, the final two teams have got to be nervous knowing that this team is this fresh this late in the competition."

WINNERS: Jerry Lynn & Rey Misterio Jr. via pinfall at 4:36

"Maybe not!" West said, "Look out!" As Jerry and Rey celebrated... La Parka slid into the ring, armed with his chair! He took a swing at Lynn... but missed and leveled Villano IV! "Not again!" West cried. Parka again took aim, this time on Rey... but Misterio dodged the blow, causing Parka to clock the other Villano! Lynn grabbed him and spun him around, then kicked him in the gut, causing him to drop the chair. From there, he hoisted him up and drilled him with a brutal cradle piledriver on the chair!

Lynn flung the chair out to ringside, then dragged Parka over to the ropes and began trying to muscle him out. Rey stepped in and interrupted, pulling Lynn off of La Parka. "Uh oh," West said, "I think Rey's taken offense to that." Rey ordered Lynn to leave the ring, then walked across the ring and stood waiting. Lynn climbed out and looked into the crowd. He then bent down and picked up the chair.

Just then... Rey charged! With Parka draped across the middle rope, Rey flung his body between the ropes... slingshotting around to kick Lynn's chair into Parka's face! The impact sent La Parka clear across the ring and caused the crowd to erupt! Los Villanos reached in and grabbed Parka's hands, pulling him out of the ring to safety. They carried him for a few steps... but he slipped and fell face-first onto the arena floor. They picked him up and carried him a few more steps before splattering him on the ground again. Finally, they each grabbed a hand and dragged him face down up the aisle and to the back.

"These guys make a great team, Mike," West said, "They've got the speed, the technical ability and most of all, the crowd support. They are truly the X-Division 'dream team' and as of this moment, they are merely two matches away from becoming the NWA World Tag Team Champions!" As the crowd cheered Rey and Jerry on, Barry Windham's music hit. Out came Windham, flanked by his young proteges, John Hope and Lance Cade for the penultimate gauntlet match.

HOPE & CADE with Barry Windham vs. JERRY LYNN & REY MISTERIO JR.

Hope started things off with Lynn, asking for a Greco-Roman knucklelock. Lynn limbered up his fingers and prepared to accept the test of strength... when Hope suddenly decked him with a right cross! Hope drove his knee into Lynn's gut, backing him into the corner, then began firing away with punches to the temple. He grabbed Lynn's head and charged out of the corner, driving him face-first into the mat with a bulldog.

Having caught his opponent off-guard and taken control, Hope tagged out to Cade. Despite his 6'5" frame, Cade showed incredible agility by hitting a gorgeous standing dropkick on Lynn. He made a quick cover but Lynn powered out at two. Cade headed up top, looking for a diving headbutt... but failed to connect! Lynn crawled towards his corner as Cade shook off the cobwebs and tagged in Hope.

As Lynn reached for Misterio... Hope and Cade dragged him back to their corner, then dropped a double elbow on his back! Cade returned to the apron as Hope rolled Lynn over and made the cover. Lynn kicked out at two, frustrating Windham at ringside. Hope quickly told him to settle down and reminded him that the situation was still under control. He prepared to drop another elbow... but Lynn rolled out of the way. Jerry quickly kipped up and dove across the ring, slapping Rey's hand!

Misterio quickly knocked Cade off the apron with a dropkick, then rolled Hope up in a huracanrana for a near fall. Hope scrambled towards his corner but Misterio dragged him across the ring to the opposite side. There, he tagged out and joined Lynn in delivering the same double elbow to the back that Lynn had suffered moments before. Lynn pulled Hope up and hoisted him into the airplane spin, then drilled him with the TKO. He made the cover, but Cade broke up the pin just before the three count.

Undaunted, Lynn headed to his corner and tagged in Misterio, then both men headed up top! Lynn lifted Rey up for an atomic drop... then released him in mid-air and leapt off. As Lynn splashed down on Hope's torso, Rey's leg dropped across his head! Cade again broke up referee Scott Armstrong's count, pulling Rey off of Hope. Rey punched Cade but Cade grabbed him by the mask and pitched him over the top rope. Rey grabbed the rope and skinned the cat, pulling himself back onto the apron as Armstrong escorted Cade from the ring.

Hope groggily got to his feet as Rey stood on the apron, poised to attack. Sensing danger, Barry Windham reached beneath the bottom rope, grabbing Hope's foot. Just then... Rey sprang off the top and leapt at Hope for a springboard huracanrana! With Windham gripping Hope's boot, Rey was unable to take him down, landing on Hope's shoulders. Lynn jumped down off the apron and attacked Windham, forcing him to let go. As Armstrong ordered them to break it up... Cade climbed up top! With Hope holding Rey in powerbomb position, he leapt off, dropping the big leg across Rey's chest!

When Armstrong turned back, he saw Hope draped across Rey, both men lying motionless. He immediately counted the pin and called for the bell. "I don't believe it!" West said, "Hope and Cade win! Jerry Lynn and Rey Misterio Jr. are out! This is incredible!" As their music played, Cade pulled Hope up and embraced him, smiling brightly. "We did it!" he exclaimed.

WINNERS: Hope & Cade via pinfall at 12:02

Their celebration was short-lived as they spotted Lynn's assault on Windham outside the ring. They quickly headed outside and attacked him from behind, double-teaming him. The double-team quickly became a triple-team as Windham recovered and joined his posse in putting the boots to Lynn. Inside the ring, Armstrong helped Rey up and told him his night had ended. Noticing the attack outside the ring, Rey shoved Armstrong out of the way and leapt up and over the top rope, wiping Cade, Hope and Windham out with a plancha!

Just then... Youthanazia's music hit! Matt Cross and Josh Prohibition raced down the aisle for the main event. Josh quickly tossed Hope into the ring as Matt grabbed Cade and flung him into the guard rail. Lynn and Misterio pulled Windham up and began brawling up the aisle, chasing Barry to the back. "Fans, it's all come down to this!" Tenay said, "Youthanazia versus Hope & Cade for all the marbles... and Barry Windham's NOT going to be a factor!"

NWA WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

HOPE & CADE vs. YOUTHANAZIA

Outside the ring, Cross slammed Cade into the rail again, then climbed on top of it. He leapt off... right into a superkick by Cade! Cade quickly dumped Cross over the rail into the first row of fans, then took his rightful place on the apron. In the ring, Prohibition battered Hope down in the corner, then charged the length of the ring and drove both feet right into his face! Prohibition got back up... but Hope grabbed him by the tights and pulled him face-first into the turnbuckle!

Hope fired off a few punches to Josh's head, then drove his elbow into it, knocking him to the mat. He arrogantly scraped his boot across Josh's face before trudging across the ring and tagging in Cade. "Don, the X factor in this match is going to be how much Lynn and Misterio took out of these two," Tenay said, "They got lucky against a world-class team. Without Windham in their corner, we'll finally get our first real chance to see what this duo is made of."

Cade scooped and slammed Prohibition, then climbed up top and delivered a guillotine legdrop. He made the cover but Josh kicked out. Cade slung Josh over his shoulder and scored with a big running powerslam, but again Josh wouldn't stay down for the three. Finally, Cade stood in the corner and sized Prohibition up, looking for the superkick. Prohibition stood and Cade fired the shot... but Josh ducked the leg and charged for his corner, tagging in Cross!

Cross quickly pounced on the top rope and sprang off, dropkicking Cade. Hope tried to clothesline him, but Matt ducked and leveled him with yet another springboard dropkick. with both men down, Cross ran up the ropes and leapt off, hitting both with a moonsault! Cross climbed to the top turnbuckle and stood over Cade, waiting over him to get up. "This is it, Mike!" West said as Cade slowly got to his feet, prompting Cross to leap into the air, "It's the Death Star! He got it!"

Cross had indeed hit his patented shooting star DDT, drilling Cade's head into the canvas. Cade quickly wrapped his arms around Cross' waist, preventing him from getting up. As Cross sat pinned in the corner... Hope charged, driving his knee right into Matt's face! Prohibition attacked Hope as Cross tried to break Cade's grip on his waist. Josh whipped Hope into the ropes but Hope reversed it and hoisted him into the air, causing him to crash stomach-first across his knee.

After another brutal running knee strike, Hope pulled Cross up and obliterated him with a release powerbomb, folding him up like an accordion! Referee Scott Armstrong ordered Hope to exit the ring, but the damage had already been done. Cade, still dazed from the Death Star, slowly crawled over and draped his arm across Cross' folded body. Armstrong registered the fall, hitting three a split-second before Prohibition managed to throw Cade's arm off. "The biggest tag tournament in NWATNA history is over!" West said, "On top of that... we have NEW NWA World Tag Team Champions!"

WINNERS & NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: Hope & Cade via pinfall at 9:36

A disheveled but excited Barry Windham rushed back out and joined his team in tearful celebration as Scott Armstrong presented them with the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Hope and Cade could do little more than gaze in awe as they stared at the gold while Windham patted their backs and laughed loudly. "I told the world!" he shouted, "Nobody believed me but I told the world! I said these belts would be ours and they are! Ha ha ha ha! Who's laughing now, people?! Who's laughing now?!"

"Fans, we hope you've enjoyed the Iron Team Challenge," Tenay said, closing out the show, "Next week, we're live in Albuquerque as NWATNA celebrates Thanksgiving Eve with Thanksgiving Turmoil! The new tag team champions will be there as well as all your favorite NWATNA stars. The countdown is on to December 18th and Zero Hour, just 28 days from tonight! For Don West, I'm Mike Tenay wishing you all good night!"

Well, I will be damned!!

I guess I should have figured that Hope and Cade were going to win... and I guess in the back of my head I did.

I love the teams of Acid Reign and Youthanazia!! I look foward to more with these two young teams!!

Thought that the tournament was everything I expected it to be, great job!!!

Quick question though... where is Johnny Kashmere in your story??

Thanks, Darkrayne.

Right now, Johnny Kashmere is working for CZW and is their 3rd most popular star behind Justice Pain & John Zandig. I originally planned to bring Kashmere in in about August, but plans got changed. Basically, I wanted to push Shannon Moore as the leader of a "boy band" stable. Like any good boy band, there would be 5 members. Moore & Karagias were going to reprise 3 Count and introduce Trent Acid & Kashmere. The final member of "5 Count" was going to be none other than King Kong Bundy, purely for comedy.

I started out by introing Moore and Acid at X-Travaganza as part of the match where Kendrick won his contract. Anyway, Moore was very unhappy about losing the match and his morale tanked severely. I decided to kill off 5 Count before it started and grant Moore his release. I meant to cut Acid as well after jobbing him to Liger a bit later but the MQ results were quite promising, so I kept him.

I stumbled onto Jayson Reign and brought him in, hoping to bolster the tag division. Reign was originally supposed to be a babyface partner for Quiet Storm. Unfortunately, Storm started acting a fool backstage and I lost interest in pushing him so that too was aborted. In looking through the roster for a new partner for him, I saw Acid's name and... well, you know the rest.

The only real problem is that because Acid was also working for CZW & XPW, when their PI went up a level, he (along with both members of Youthanazia) got a huge overness boost while Reign got no piece of that. Bummer.

Thanksgiving Turmoil is up next. :)

Next: Thanksgiving Turmoil

By Katy-Jayne Myers

With new NWA World Tag Team Champions crowned, things are heating up as NWATNA looks to close out 2002 strong. What's next for the fastest-growing promotion in North America today? Find out this Wednesday as NWATNA invites you to spend Thanksgiving Eve with us!

The plan of NWA World Champion Steve Corino has fallen apart. Not only did his best friend, C.W. Anderson, cost he and Jeff Jarrett the tag team titles, but now he is indebted to the conniving Jarrett... not to mention still being targeted by Sting! Something's got to give... and it will this Wednesday!

After an embarrassing loss two weeks ago, Buckwheat has hit rock bottom in NWATNA. Desperate for revenge, he has agreed to step back into the ring with Terry Funk... in any match Funk wants! A veteran of hardcore brawls, barbed wire massacres and cage matches, Funk knows first-hand how much danger a stipulation can add to a match. However, quite possibly the most dangerous of all... is his own creation. This Wednesday, we will bear witness to the first-ever "Feast Of Fury"!

Trent Acid and Jayson Reign team up to face The Dream Team this Wednesday night. The teams wrestled to a no-contest last Wednesday, resulting in both of their eliminations from the ITC. The NWA Championship Committee has ordered this rematch to determine rightful #1 contenders to the new champions, Hope & Cade. Barry Windham has told NWATNA.com that he will bring "his champs" to Albuquerque this Wednesday to get a front row seat!

Plus, a new #1 contender for the X-Division Title will be decided and much more! Don't miss it this and every Wednesday, only on pay-per-view! It's just $9.95 for the hottest two hours in wrestling today! Be there!

NOTE: The advertised segment "The Honky Tonk Man presents 'Turkey Talk'" will not occur due to an unforeseen event. NWATNA apologizes for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused.

T-Minus 10 Minutes: Thanksgiving Turmoil

By Jimmy Kirk

The preshow opened with a shot of Jeff Jarrett, walking backstage, seething with anger. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Steve Corino shouted, running over to him, "Jeff! Tell me you didn't do what I heard you just did. A match? With C.W. Anderson? Come on, Jeff. Forget about this, man. We've got bigger fish to fry. I mean... look at this." Corino passed Jarrett a pocket watch.

Jarrett glared at Corino as he closed the watch, then tossed it back to him. Corino fumbled with it before finally dropping it on the floor. Jarrett continued his march, heading towards the locker room. "Hey!" Corino shouted, "Didn't you hear me? We need a plan, dammit! 21 days, Jeff... 21 days! You've got to be crazy if you think Sting's going to wait that long to come after me."

"You know what, Steve?" Jarrett said as he turned around sharply, "Instead of sitting here and wondering when Sting is going to come for revenge, why don't you do something about it?! It seems every time you make a damn plan, it blows up in OUR faces, Steve! I knew teaming up with you was a mistake, but I never imagined your idiot buddy would be the one to cost us the tag team titles."

"Listen," Corino said, "C.W. just got confused. That's all. Trust me. He'd never betray me. He's like a brother to me, Jeff. He knows the score and he knows why I did what I did. It's Sting we've got to worry about! He's using his position in the championship committee to manipulate his way to my title, Jeff! Is that what you want? Sting as champion?"

"No, Steve," Jarrett said, "I don't want Sting to be champion... and I don't want YOU to be champion! I'm the one who deserves to be the NWA Champion! I'm the 'chosen one'! As far as your match with Sting goes, I wish you luck. I understand if you don't wish me the same... seeing as I'll be facing your 'brother'. Steve, life is about choices. C.W. made the wrong choice. He chose to cross the 'chosen one'. Tonight, 'brother' or not, he's going to pay."

"You don't understand, Jeff," Corino pleaded, "C.W. is NOT a problem. It's Sting. It's all Sting. He's driving me crazy. You and I could have the tag team titles any day of the week, Jeff. The belts are ours whenever we want them. There's only one obstacle between us and what we want. That's Sting. As long as he's in the picture, things for us..."

"Stop with all this 'us' crap!" Jeff shouted, "Don't you get it?! Sting is YOUR problem, Steve. I already told you I washed my hands of that when I knocked him out. You talked me into coming back, promising me all sorts of things. Well, none of that ever happened, Steve. Because of C.W. Anderson, we're not the tag team champions... and I'm not the number-one contender. Sting is your problem. Anderson is mine. I'm handling mine. Go handle yours. Life is about choices, Steve." With that, Jarrett walked away, leaving behind a distraught champion.

"No!" he shouted, "This is all a misunderstanding, Jeff! It's all Sting's fault! Come back!" Corino chased after Jarrett, desperately trying to convince him to call off his battle with "The Enforcer". As the pre-show came to a close, the shot panned down to the floor where the pocket watch lie. As the clock ticked away, the words "21 days" had been printed in red on the now-broken glass.

Wow, when I get behind, I really seem to get behind. Just had to catch up on two shows, but they were well worth the read. Corino may have sunk himself into hot water. Jarrett just seems to have that ulterior motive we all know he usually has. Not to mention the problems just keep adding up, now with CW Anderson pulling these little stunts.

Hope And Cade weren't exactly the biggest expected win out of that battle. You kind of lost focus on them in my opinion and everyone else just had more build to the, but can't say I'm unhappy to see some gold on Cade as I've always been a fan of his actually.

Not a big fan of seeing The Funks back together, as it's more a nostalgia kick and I've had it with McMahon's bout of nostalgia so this just brings back those bad memories. Other then that, this diary is still top notch.

I agree that Hope & Cade should've been built up better. In hindsight, I'd have moved their debut and qualifying match down a few weeks, perhaps switching them up with one of the teams that beat the Locos. My main trouble was halfway through the qualifyers, I'd realized all but one (Dream Team) of the teams were heels. A full night of heel on heel tag action would've been grim death so I rushed to pitch in some faces. I'll admit a few Japanese tours screwed up some of my plans as well, but for what it was, I thought it worked.

Enjoy Thanksgiving Turmoil everyone.

Dangerous Details: Thanksgiving Turmoil

By "Danger" Will Riker

The pay-per-view telecast opened with a shot of the ring. Inside was a long table, covered with food. The camera panned across the stuffing and cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, finally focusing on the gorgeous, golden-brown turkey that rested in the center. The Little Rascals' theme music played as the shot pulled away from the bird and to the entranceway, showing the entrance of Buckwheat.

"Mike, look at that spread!" Don West said, "This can only be one thing... Terry Funk's 'Feast Of Fury'! Get ready for the most dysfunctional family dinner ever!" Buckwheat entered the ring and looked at the food as the crowd antagonized him with "Buckwheat" chants. Terry Funk's music hit and the middle-aged and crazy bastard rushed out to the ring, immediately opening up with a series of hard right hands. "And away we go!" West said as the bell sounded.

"FEAST OF FURY" MATCH

BUCKWHEAT vs. TERRY FUNK

Funk and 'Wheat traded blows as they spilled onto the mat, rolling underneath the table. Buckwheat managed to get on top of Funk and started choking him out... but Funk reached up and grabbed his neck, thrusting his head into the underside of the table. Disoriented, Buckwheat climbed out from beneath the table. Funk followed suit, then took a big handful of mashed potatoes and rubbed it into Buckwheat's face!

Buckwheat took a few wild swings, missing his target completely. Funk peppered his potato-caked face with jabs, then wound up and floored him with a big haymaker. Funk pounced atop his foe and continued hammering away on him with hard right hands. As Buckwheat struggled to regain his vision, wiping the potatoes out of his eyes... Funk grabbed his leg and locked on the spinning toe hold! 'Wheat flailed his arms, reaching for anything he could find. He tugged at the tablecloth and reached up, grabbing one of the plates. He sat up and bashed it over Funk's head, shattering it.

Funk collapsed on the table, falling face-first into the dreaded mashed potatoes. Buckwheat quickly got to his feet and took control, attacking Funk. He grabbed the gravy boat and dumped the contents on Funk's head, then smashed the ceramic dish into his skull. With Funk on dream street, Buckwheat scoured the table, looking for yet another weapon. It was then when he saw it... the carving knife! "Oh my God!" Tenay said, "Who the hell put a knife in there?!"

'Wheat took hold of the knife, gripping it firmly. He turned and saw Funk stirring, then charged. Buckwheat stabbed down hard with the blade, sinking it deep into the flesh... of the turkey! Funk had stuffed his hand inside the turkey and used it to block Buckwheat's deadly attack. He ripped the knife out of the turkey's flesh and began stalking Buckwheat. Facing the maniacal and now-armed Funk, Buckwheat quickly backed away, begging Funk off. Funk stared at the knife in his left hand, then looked at the turkey, resting on his right. He quickly tossed the knife out to the floor and decked 'Wheat with a colossal turkey punch! "That turkey was stuffed all right!" West said, "With FIST!"

"That's not all!" Tenay said as Funk set down the turkey, then began pulling his hand out. Along with it... came a small roll of barbed wire! "Well, we know now Momma Funk's secret ingredient!" Tenay said as Funk quickly began wrapping his fist in barbed wire. Funk pulled back his fist and fired... but Buckwheat blocked the punch! Buckwheat threw a kick, catching Terry in the groin, then began raking Funk's own barbed wire covered fist across his forehead, ripping him open! As the blood began flowing down Funk's face, Buckwheat climbed atop the table and drew his thumb across his throat.

Buckwheat jumped off and blasted Funk with a killer scissor kick! Referee Jim Molineaux rushed out to check on Funk as Buckwheat raised his arms in victory. "This may be over," Tenay said, Funk looks out of it." Buckwheat shouted out to the crowd who replied back, chanting "Buckwheat" at him. Enraged, 'Wheat picked up the turkey and ripped off a drumstick, then flung it into the front row! This only forced the chants to grow louder. Buckwheat threw down the turkey and pulled Funk up by the hair, then dragged him over to the table, draping him across it. "No!" Tenay said, "Stop! Funk can't defend himself!"

Funk climbed up onto the table as well, then pulled Funk up to his feet. He hooked him up for the N-Bomb gourdbuster... but Funk was simply dead weight. Funk fell to his knees before Buckwheat, completely out of it. As Buckwheat attempted to pull him back up... Funk sprang to life, delivering a barbed wire uppercut to the groin! Funk willed himself to his feet and hooked 'Wheat up, then dropped him head-first onto a pumpkin pie with the piledriver! The impact caused the table beneath them to collapse, bringing the crowd to their feet. Molineaux stepped in and checked on both men, then called for the bell and raised Funk's hand in victory.

WINNER: Terry Funk via knockout at 13:52

"What a war!" Mike Tenay said, "Fans, I've never seen anything like that. That was the Funk family 'Feast Of Fury', an NWATNA original!" Funk untangled his bloody, mangled arm from the barbed wire and threw it down, then saluted the crowd as he made his exit. Molineaux and medical personnel helped Buckwheat to his feet as he slowly came to. Having realized he had suffered yet another loss, Buckwheat shoved them away, refusing their assistance. The crowd continued their "Buckwheat" chant, driving him completely mad. Buckwheat turned and tried to punt the turkey out of the ring, but slipped on a pile of debris and landed ass-first in center ring, completely humiliated.

Backstage, Kaz Hayashi and Yang were seen, arguing heatedly over their loss last week. They both shouted and pressed their fingers in each other's chest, laying the blame on their partner. Finally, Yang shoved Hayashi away and raised his fists, calling Kaz on for a fight. Kaz quickly assumed a martial arts stance, accepting the challenge. As the duo prepared for a backstage face-off... from behind a woman approached. She walked over and placed her hands on each of their shoulders, causing them both to turn in surprise.

"Kimona?" Yang said, staring straight into the eyes of former ECW and WCW valet Kimona. "Hiya!" she said brightly, stroking his cheek. Kaz looked over at Yang who looked back at him, then both looked at Kimona, totally stunned. "I guess I don't need to ask how you've been, do I?" she asked, "I've been watching. Well... everyone's been watching. That's why I decided to show up tonight."

"I know the last time you guys saw me, things didn't go so well," she continued, "In fact, I'm probably the last person you ever thought would come here and try to help you, but that's exactly what I'm here to do, guys. The past is the past. I can't change it and neither can you. Whether you believe me when I say this or not, I've always believed in you two. Always. I know I'm asking for a lot here, but I really think all this team needs to become the best in NWATNA is a little women's intuition."

Kaz looked down at the floor, then Yang reached over and smacked him on the shoulder, shaking his head no. "Come on, guys," Kimona pleaded, "Give me a chance here, huh? What have you got to lose?" Kaz glanced back over at Yang, then shrugged his shoulders. "Look," she said, handing Kaz a matchbook, "This is where I'm going to be tonight. You come by and see me... both of you. I think we have a lot to talk about. If not... well, it was nice seeing you." With that, she shot Yang a seductive glare, then turned and strutted away, leaving the Dragons behind to contemplate her vague proposal.

"Our next match is sure to be an X-Division classic," Mike Tenay said, "Next week, the winner of this match is going to face 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels for the NWA X-Division Championship. Neither of these men have ever received a shot at that title but the NWA Championship Committee has decided that both are worthy opponents for Daniels, based on both their performances here in NWATNA as well as in Japan. Fans, buckle up and prepare for take-off as NWATNA presents X-Division action!"

REY MISTERIO JR. vs. KID KASH

Kash rushed at Rey before the bell, eager to get a jump on his competition. Rey moved quick and delivered a drop toe hold, dropping him throat-first across the middle rope. Rey sized Kash up for his whirling slingshot kick, but Kash managed to get out of the ring before Rey could make impact. As Kash tried to catch his breath, Rey rebounded off the ropes then bounced off the far side and dove out, driving Kash into the guard rail with a suicide dive!

Rey pulled Kash up and tossed him back into the ring, then climbed onto the apron. With Kash prone on the mat, Rey pounced up to the top rope and leapt off, dropping a big leg across his chest! Rey made a cover but Kash kicked out at two. Kash rolled out of the ring again, desperate to catch a break. Rey refused to give him even an inch, diving up and over the top with a plancha. Unfortunately for Rey, Kash dodged the move, causing Rey to crash on the arena floor!

Kash pulled Rey up and delivered a Russian leg sweep, driving the back of his head into the guard rail! Kash put the boots to Rey as referee Mark Johnson began counting both men out. Kash returned to the ring, hoping to pick up a count-out victory but Rey willed himself up and crawled into the ring, breaking the count at nine. Kash quickly made a cover but Rey escaped at two, simply refusing to let the opportunity slip away.

Kash pulled Rey up and punched him in the face, but Rey immediately fired back with a chop to Kash's chest. Another Kash punch prompted another Rey chop. Kash fired a third hard right hand, but Rey unleashed a series of three rapid-fire chops on him. With Kash reeling, Rey cinched him up for a vertical suplex. He couldn't lift the Kid and Kash reversed, hoisting Rey up... then dropping him across his knee! Kash made a cover as the crowd cheered Rey on, willing him to once again kick out.

As Rey writhed in agony on the mat, Kash headed up top. He launched into the 450, crashing down on his hapless prey. Kash hooked the leg, but again Rey broke free at two. Eager to put him away once and for all, Kash pulled Misterio up and signalled for the Moneymaker! He hooked Rey's arms and hoisted him up... but Rey wrapped his legs around Kash's head, spinning into a headscissor takeover!

Kash flopped to the mat, draping himself across the middle rope. Not missing a beat, Rey hit the ropes and blasted him with the whirling dropkick, knocking him back to the center of the ring. Rey stepped through the ropes and onto the apron, waiting for Kash to get up. Once he did, Rey sprang off the top rope and took him down with a huracanrana, hooking both legs for the three count.

WINNER: Rey Misterio Jr. via pinfall at 8:11

"There it is!" Don West exclaimed, "Next week, Rey Misterio Jr. goes for X-Division gold! What a match that's going to be! Flagstaff is going to be on fire!" Rey scaled the turnbuckles, saluting the fans who applauded his efforts. He motioned with his hands around his waist, signifying a promise to bring the NWA X-Division Title home.

"Way to go, Rey!" Jerry Lynn said, watching backstage on a monitor, cheering his partner on, "Bring that gold home, man. Man, what a match." As Lynn continued watching his partner's celebration, road agent Terry Taylor approached him from behind. Taylor seemed nervous as he tapped Jerry on the shoulder, breaking his concentration. "Oh," Lynn said, "Hey, Terry. What's going on?"

"Listen," Taylor said, treading lightly with his words, "Shane Douglas asked me to come talk to you. I just got out of a meeting with the championship committee and... well, you might not like this. After review, the committee has decided to end the suspension and reinstate Ken Shamrock. It was a long talk, but we can't in good conscience keep him away. Red abandoned him in that tag match. Not to take anything away from your and Rey's victory, but it's unfair not to allow him back. I hope you understand."

Lynn shook his head, speechless. "Shane asked you to tell me this?" he said, "He couldn't come here and tell me himself? Forget it. I've got a message for you to give him. If he wants Shamrock back, that's fine with me. However, if Shamrock's coming back... I want him. You go tell Shane Douglas to make the match. Next week, we go another round. Shamrock returns to NWATNA? Consider me the welcoming committee!"

Taylor rushed off to relay the message just as Rey walked by, returning from his match. "Hey, man," Jerry said, "Great job out there. Congratulations. Man, next Wednesday's going to be a hell of a night... for both of us." Rey was puzzled by Jerry's comment. "Come on," Lynn said, patting Rey on the back, "I've got some news for you. You're not going to believe it." With that, the shot cut back to Tenay and West in the broadcast booth.

"How do you like that?" Tenay said as the music of Acid Reign played in the background, "Next week, we've got two main-event matches lined up on pay-per-view. First up, the X-Division Title will be on the line. Now... Jerry Lynn and Ken Shamrock will go at it! Fans, next week in Flagstaff is shaping up to be huge. However, the following week in Tempe, the new NWA World Tag Team Champions will make their first title defense... against the winners of our next contest!"

"In case you missed the epic Iron Team Challenge last week," Tenay continued as Sonny Siaki and Jorge Estrada made their entrance, "Neither of these teams were pinned or submitted. They were both eliminated after a wild double-disqualification. Tonight, these two teams square off for the opportunity to face Hope & Cade two weeks from tonight and perhaps finally claim the NWA World Tag Team Championships!"

Acid, Reign, Siaki and Estrada stood in the ring, sizing each other up. Referee Mickey Jay turned to signal for the bell, when suddenly... a voice interrupted. "Hold on just a minute!" it said. At the entranceway, Barry Windham stood, holding a microphone. Behind him, Cade and Hope held their titles, admiring them as they lay draped across their shoulders.

"I just want to take a second and talk about a REAL team for a change," Windham said, "When I brought Cade and Hope to NWATNA, I said they were the future of tag team wrestling. Nobody believed me. Well... do you believe now?! Like it or not, my boys are the NWA World Tag Team Champions, owners of the most prestigious tag titles in the world! I hate to say I told you so, but... aw, hell... I LOVE to say it! I told you so! Whatever happens in this match doesn't mean a damn thing in the long run, because Hope & Cade are the team of 2002, 2003 and beyond!" Windham laughed and dropped the mike, then followed his proteges to the back, allowing the bout to begin.

ACID REIGN vs. THE DREAM TEAM

Jorge Estrada locked up with Jayson Reign, exercising his power advantage over him. He shoved Reign down but Jayson kipped right back up and tumbled towards him. Estrada easily leapfrogged over him. Reign again sprang to his feet and bounced off the ropes, scoring with a handspring elbow smash. After a few punches, Reign made the tag to Acid, then whipped Estrada across the ring to the ropes. Reign dropped down, causing Jorge to run past him... right into the yakuza kick by Trent Acid!

"This could be it!" Tenay said as Acid hooked the leg, "One! Two! Th... no. Siaki just in time to make the save." Siaki pulled Acid off or his partner but was quickly removed from the ring by Mickey Jay, giving Acid Reign ample opportunity to lay in some double-team shots behind the ref's back. Acid flung Jorge into the corner, then distracted Jay as Reign used the tag rope to choke him out! Siaki rushed in to inform the official, but only served to distract him further, giving Acid a chance to deliver a few kicks to the gut as Jay again disposed of Sonny.

Acid drilled Estrada into the mat with a tornado DDT and garnered a near fall before tagging Reign back in. Acid pulled Jorge up to his feet, then held him in position as Reign pounced off the top rope with a flying clothesline. Reign made the cover but Jorge kicked out. Reign whipped Estrada into the ropes and bent down, looking for a big back body drop. Jorge threw a kick, nailing Reign in the face, then charged for the ropes. He bounced off and scored with the Trip To Dreamland, then made the long crawl towards Siaki for the tag.

As Estrada inched his way closer, Trent began waving his arms, calling Mickey Jay over. Siaki got the tag and came in, leveling Reign with a big clothesline. Reign popped back up quickly but another Siaki clothesline put him right back down. He pulled Jayson up and spiked him with the Siakolypse Now pumphandle driver. He made the cover and Mickey Jay turned around... but refused to count. He ordered Siaki to exit the ring. "The referee didn't see the tag!" Mike Tenay said, "Tough break for The Dream Team."

Estrada returned to the ring and suplexed Reign, then made the legal tag to Siaki. Together, the two obliterated Reign with a double falling spinebuster. Siaki whipped him into the ropes and flung him high into the air with a back body drop, causing him to crash down hard. Luckily, Reign landed close enough to the corner to tag in Trent. Acid wasted no time in charging Siaki with a yakuza kick... but Siaki ducked it, causing Trent's foot to go flying over his head.

Siaki quickly spun around and slipped beneath Acid, hoisting him onto his shoulders. He walked over to the corner and tagged in jorge who immediately scaled the ropes, setting up for the doomsday blockbuster. As Estrada steadied himself... Acid spun on Siaki's shoulders and took him down with a huracanrana, causing him to hit the ropes and crotch Estrada on the turnbuckle!

Acid stomped at Siaki as Reign pulled him out of the ring, then blasted him with a baseball slide. Acid Reign began double-teaming Siaki out on the floor, wailing away with punches and kicks. Just then... Estrada flew off the top rope, wiping them both out as he crashed to the floor! "Holy cow!" West shouted as the crowd cheered Jorge's daring act. With all four men sprawled out at ringside, Mickey Jay could do little more than administer the ten-count and wave off the match.

RESULT: no-contest via double count-out at 13:29

"What does this mean for the tag title match in two weeks?" Don West asked as ring attendants poured out to check out the four wrestlers. Siaki stood up and helped his partner to his feet, escorting him up the aisle. Acid Reign followed suit... then charged and attacked The Dream Team! The four continue brawling as they slipped behind the curtain. "It's not over yet!" West said, "These teams just can't seem to stop this war!"

"Fans, our main event tonight stems from last week's Iron Team Challenge," Tenay said, "Jeff Jarrett and Steve Corino were... WHAT?! Fans, hold on just one second! I understand something's going on backstage. There's been some kind of... what happened, Tommy? Do we have a camera back there? Fans, I apologize but there has been an incident backstage. Let's take you there live!"

"Clear some room!" a man shouted at a crowd of people gathered around, "Let Alex through!" NWATNA's head medic, Alex Chrichoton was rushed to the scene. As the crowd dispersed, the prone body of former NWA champion Dory Funk Jr. was seen, lying motionless in a pool of his own blood. "Everybody back!" he said, moving in to get a closer look, "What the hell happened?"

The crowd all discussed simultaneously, all agreeing they hadn't seen anything. Several more physicians joined the group, flanked by EMTs who wheeled in a stretcher. Funk was loaded onto it and hoisted up, still unconscious. Just then... Terry Funk rushed over. "Oh my God!" Terry shouted, "Is he okay? What happened?! I'm riding with him!" Funk followed the paramedics as they carted Funk away to a nearby ambulance. Terry climbed in, shouting at his brother to wake up. The doors slammed shut and the sirens wailed as the vehicle drove out into the balmy New Mexico winter night.

"My God," Tenay said, completely flabbergasted, "Dory Funk Jr. is being rushed to the hospital. What in the world happened?" Jeff Jarrett's music hit and the "chosen one" made his way to the ring for the final match of the evening. "Fans, we're going to continue on with the show," Tenay said, "We apologize if our focus is a bit off, but right now... it's hard not to think of what we've just witnessed."

C.W. ANDERSON vs. JEFF JARRETT

"As I was saying before I was interrupted by that," he continued, "Last week, Steve Corino and Jeff Jarrett were involved in the Iron Team Challenge. C.W. Anderson interjected himself into that bout and cost them the match. As a result, Jeff Jarrett ordered this match for tonight's card. As we saw during our pre-show, NWA World Champion Steve Corino has been torn between his tag team partner and the man he says is like a brother to him. He's got to be watching this match very closely."

Jarrett challenged Anderson to a test of strength... then reached up and raked his eyes! After a few quick punches, Jarrett scooped and slammed C.W. down and went for the pin, picking up a two-count. He showed shades of his former partner, the late Owen Hart, taking Anderson down with a nice gutwrench suplex. Again, Anderson managed to power out before the three. As Jarrett taunted the crowd, strutting his way around the ring, C.W. slowly got to his feet, desperate to mount any sort of offense.

Jarrett moved in for the kill... but Anderson popped him with a big left hand! Rocked, Jarrett staggered into another, followed by a third which put him flat on his back. Jeff got up quickly, but was moved down by a running clothesline, courtesy of "The Enforcer". Anderson made a cover but Jarrett kicked out at two. He tried to roll out of the ring and break C.W.'s momentum... but C.W. grabbed him by the hair! Anderson pulled him up, then delivered a killer piledriver!

"This could be it!" Tenay said as Anderson hooked the near leg. Referee Scott Armstrong reached two before Jarrett managed to drape his foot on the bottom rope, effectively breaking the count. Anderson pulled Jarrett up and whipped him to the ropes, then dropped him with a Samoan drop. He headed up top, aiming for a big elbowdrop. Luckily for Jarrett, he managed to avoid the contact, causing C.W. to crash and burn.

"We could have a double count-out here," Tenay said as Armstrong began administering the ten-count, forcing both combatants to rise from the canvas. Anderson broke the count by reaching his feet at six, but Jarrett wasn't far behind. Anderson stepped in, looking for the Ferris Wheel, but a few placed elbows by Jarrett blocked it. Jarrett thrust his shoulder into C.W.'s gut, ramming him back into the corner. There, he began stomping away, mercilessing kicking Anderson as he slumped down to the mat.

Jarrett dragged C.W. out of the corner and hooked the leg, getting two. He then pulled Anderson up and returned the favor, scoring with a piledriver of his own. Jarrett arrogantly covered Anderson by placing a boot on his chest, which Anderson weakly shoved away. "Jarrett could've had it there," Tenay said. Anderson slowly got to his feet, then was rocked by a right hand. Jarrett grabbed him by the head and gestured to the crowd, signalling it was time for the Stroke. Just then... C.W. sprang to life and grabbed hold of Jarrett, dropping him with a big back suplex!

Jarrett got up quickly and threw a punch, but Anderson ducked it and used another back suplex. As Jarrett tried to get back up, Anderson drove his knee deep into his gut, then cinched him up and spiked him with the Ferris Wheel exploder! Anderson covered Jarrett and hooked the leg, but incredibly, Jarrett refused to stay down, lifting his shoulder at two. Undaunted, C.W. stood and watched as Jarrett slowly got up, then looked out into the crowd, grimacing as he drew his thumb across his throat.

"Could this be the classic Anderson spinebuster?" Tenay said as C.W. grabbed Jarrett and whipped him into the ropes. He lifted Jarrett up for the move, but Jarrett fired off a punch, causing him to lose his grip. Jarrett took it to C.W. with a few more punches, then hit the ropes, looking for a running clothesline. He bounced off... right into the Anderson spinebuster! "That's it!" Tenay shouted, "One! Two! Hey! What the hell?!"

WINNER: C.W. Anderson via disqualification at 12:49

As the bell rang, Anderson stood up, locking eyes with the man who had just pulled him off of Jarrett... Steve Corino. Anderson shouted at Corino, demanding to know why he had interfered. "You cost me," he shouted back, "I cost you. We're even." Anderson thrust his finger into Corino's chest, shouting at him. As The Extreme Horsemen continued to argue... Jeff Jarrett nailed Anderson from behind!

Jarrett pinned Anderson's arms behind his back, then shouted at Corino to hit him with the NWA World Title. Corino looked into C.W.'s face, watching as he begged his "brother" not to do it. Corino held up the belt and looked at it, then looked at Anderson and raised it up. Just then... the crowd erupted as a man dove into the ring, spun Corino around and began hammering away. "HOLY SHIT!" West shouted, "What's HE doing here?"

"My God!" Tenay said, "That's... that's... that's Shane Helms! That's WWE's Hurricane! What on earth?!" as Helms pounded away on Corino, Jarrett watched on in shock, releasing his hold on Anderson. Anderson took the opportunity to nail him with a big left hand, then clothesline him out of the ring. Helms did the same to Corino across the ring, ousting the NWA World Champion. Helms and Anderson stood together in the ring as Corino and Jarrett watched on in complete horror. "A WWE superstar?" West said, "In an NWATNA ring? What's going on? Are we being invaded?!"

"Fans, I'm sorry but we're out of time!" Tenay said, "Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner and we'll see you next week from Flagstaff, Arizona! Good night from Albuquerque where the unthinkable has happened! The superpowers of wrestling have collided!" As the show went off the air, a close-up shot of Helms appeared as he stared down Corino and Jarrett, daring them to reenter the ring. In the background, C.W. Anderson looked at him, completely stunned.

That was actually a very entertaining show, but one thing I have to mention is, I don't think TNA would allow the use of the knife on television. I know what you were going for, but the risk of that type of angle would be too great for this type of company.

You must really hate poor Killings, unless you've got something huge planned for him later. It appears that he attacked Dory at the end, but it's also a bit too easy, so I'm not sure that it's him.

I see you're trying to get Hope and Cade over as legitimate champions, which is a good thing, but it appears like there is gonna be a triple threat for next week. Still not buying The Dream Team or Acid Reign as viable contenders though.

Shamrock/Lynn really needs to end. This story has carried on for so long that it's just lost it's heat, and hopefully that's what you're going for with this next match.

I like the Corino/Jarrett/Anderson/Helms story, but I don't like the break up of "The Extreme Horsemen" so it's a bit of a soft spot for me. I'm a fan of all four of these men though, so this story wins points with me anyway.

Thanks for reading, TK. In the early days, TNA was a lot more risque than it is now. Plus, the "use" of the knife was pretty limited. Still, that's a valid point. All I can really say is it's PPV and much worse occurs on most other PPV shows.

Next post will be "All About The Gabe" for November. Until then...

Next: AfterShock

Last Wednesday, the one thing no NWATNA fan expected occurred as a WWE superstar invaded Thanksgiving Turmoil. NWATNA.com has been unable to uncover any details about the incredible event that occurred, but this Wednesday night in Flagstaff, Arizona, hopefully the matter will be cleared up.

Plus, Dory Funk Jr. was heinously assaulted backstage last Wednesday. The NWA Championship Committee has been unable to ascertain who did this and why, but a company-wide investigation has begun. More details are coming this week at AfterShock.

We learned that Shane Douglas has lifted the suspension on Ken Shamrock, much to Jerry Lynn's chagrin. This Wednesday, Lynn and Shamrock go at it once more. If their brutal falls count anywhere match from The NWA 54th Anniversary is any indication, expect the violence level to be off the charts!

Plus, the NWA X-Division Title is on the line in an X-Division "dream match" as Christopher Daniels defends against Rey Misterio Jr. With only one week to prepare, can the ever studious champion successfully defend his gold or will Rey have a few new tricks up his sleeve?

The championship committee has announced that Hope & Cade's first tag title defense will take place on December 11th... against BOTH Acid Reign AND The Dream Team in a three way dance! This week, Cade will take on Jayson Reign and Sonny Siaki in a bit of a preview of that epic bout. Rest assured, their partners will be on hand to witness all the carnage. Will you?

Plus, Los Maximos make their return to NWATNA to face The Jung Dragons and Steve Corino has promised an announcement that will "shock the world". After last Wednesday, can anything shock the NWATNA fans anymore? Tune in December 4th to find out!
