Not punk, but for a female fronted band Metric are tremendously kickass, IMO.

You can't go wrong with Dead Disco and Combat Baby. That shit got tons of airplay in Canada and for good reason.

I always thought that as well. My girlfriend had a Coheed song as her ring tone, and I asked her who the band was. When she told me Coheed and Cambria, I commented that I didn't realize they had a female lead singer. Needless to say it took her awhile to convince me that Coheed's singer was not actually a she but a he.

I also remembered another great female fronted punk/garage band, Thee Headcoatees. It's basically a female spin off of Billy Childish's Thee Headcoats. They are quite good and definitely have a similar sound to that of the Headcoats.
