The 70s.

Bob Dylan made Blood on the Tracks, probably his best album. Led Zeppelin made rock and roll, rock and roll. The Who were still kicking. Pink Floyd went concept. AC/DC formed and had the Bon Scott years.

There's probably more, but I'm not thinking much.

I don't have a particular favourite because I listen to a whole mess of crap. On my immediate playlist, right now, I have 'Yesterday', 'You Really Got Me', 'Fuel' and 'War', and I think they're all from different decades.

It's the 80's that decade had just great songs from all genres of music, just great.

I certainly have an obsession with 80s music from hair metal to new wave and everything between, but my favorite era is definitely the 90s. 92-98 especially. I grew up when grunge came and went, so that's definitely the music I relate to the most. I miss the days when we spelled alternative with a capital A.

So many different sounds, so many classic albums.

Since people are putting a couple of decades, I'd go Early 90's > 80's > 00's > everything else

But, I tend to get into older stuff all the time, so the 70's and 60's have thier quirks for me.

In the 70's you had Zeppelin, Steve Miller, Peter Frampton, ACDC, Sabbath, Allman Brothers, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, early Van Halen, Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, and Grand Funk Railroad to name a few.
