Okay, this one's not during anybody's summer break or anything, but it comes out September 8th so I'm classifying it as summer. This one looks really good, and may put Affleck's career back on track.

So, we are a weekend away from Clerks II...and this weekend sounds like the one where most of you film fans will avoid the new stuff (which is getting panned like a mofucker) and either go see Pirates 2 again or nothing at all.

Box office estimates are up, and with Dead Mans Chest gaining a domestic total of 258 Million dollars in just two weeks, how far fo you think it will go. I say it has a firm place in the top 10 grossers of all time, and may enter the top 5. Any predictions?

In other news, I'm glad The Devil Wears Parada is doing amazing business, its always good to see Meryl Streep do her thing, and I'll be watching the film sometime next weekend.

On the upside, I doubt Hollywood will bitch so much about them getting lack of funds seeing that most every movie that has gotten decent marketing around it this summer (I'll forget Poseidon because every summer has to have their flop) has delivered a profit or at least delivered solid takeins. On the downside, do you think that Warner Bros could be axing that Superman Returns sequel on account to its underwhelming performance? I hope not.

God I really can't wait for Clerks II. I don't care what the reviews say, it really looks like its going to be good. Plus I can't pass up a Kevin Smith film. Other than Talladega Nights I really have nothing else that I'm looking forward to this summer.

It's pretty much right on par with Batman Begins, I don't see why they wouldn't do a sequel.

Regardless of the circumstances, isn't it kind of weird that Brett Ratner's "X3" is outgrossing Singer's "Superman"? I almost feel bad for Singer, because all X3 needed to go for entertaining summer flick to mindblowing experience was well...Singer.
