Fifa wants 18-team Premier League

Recommended Posts

20 teams is perfect as it means 38 games, 18 means 34 games, 4 less games, which is less revenue for clubs, which is possibly essential for teams like Fulham, Boro, Blackburn etc who dont look like theyll get in the Champions League.

Load of FIFA French bollocks.

MLS need to get their head out of their asses and promote the game properly, 1 league, and not 2 groups.

I doubt that would work in the US. We're accustomed to the two conference/league system. All our major sports have it, and we love our playoffs. MLS just needs to get better players and promote better.

MLS is getting better too. Some of the teams that have there own facilities are starting to make money, and now that they know that having there own facilities is key, only teams that are willing to build there own soccer-specific building are allowed to join. Toronto has built a magnificent place for there new team which starts next season.

It's better now they are adding more teams (which I was previously unaware of apart from Chivas & Real Salt Lake)

Suppose US sports will never have a 2 tier system with promotion and relegation?

There are "lower leagues" in the U.S. However, there is no promotion/relegation system so each team plays in its separate league. The MLS, however, is the top tier in the U.S.
