Haven

Thirteen Senses

Fallen To

...yeah, not sure if any of them are still together. Cornish bands ftw.

But on a more serious note... Dragonforce (hey, they're based in London. Even if only one member of the band is actually English), Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Bal-Sagoth, Black Sabbath, The Who... that's pretty much it off the top of my head. There are loads of 70's/80's rock bands that I like, but I don't like them enough to know anything about them other than a few songs (like, for example, where they come from ¬_¬).

Thin Lizzy are Irish, aren't they?

Oh, wait, forgot the Stones. Zepplin? Pink Floyd? Psht, I dunno. I wasn't born back then.

That is every good act to ever come out of Canada. Seriously.

Or no. You're missing a ton of good indy talents both from out west and out east, and you have a whole lot of shit on your list. :thumbsdown:

Yeah, they are Irish.

Since I'm part Irish, my Irish list would include Thin Lizzy, U2, The Pogues, Therapy?, Ash and Damien Rice

I probably should check out more of The Boomtown Rats.

Well New Zealand hasn't released very big name bands that you guys will have heard of, but here's my list anyway, I suggest you check some of the music out:

* 8 Foot Sativa

* Sinate

* Dave Dobbyn

* Crowded House

* Bic Runga

Yes you should. They are ace. Anyway, I'd probably go something like Wu-Tang Clan, Electric Wizard, Zakk Wylde, 2Pac & The Germs.

That last sentence was a joke. I do realise that there are other good bands from Canada, I just listed a bunch of the acts I like. That is the point of this thread, after all. And the only smaller Canadian bands I like/know of are just local bands in Winnipeg(Domenica, Five Hundred Pound Furnace, Pornocracy, The Dust Rhinos, etc.).

And who on that list is shitty? Except maybe the newer stuff from Sum 41 and Our Lady Peace.

You should burn for that statement alone :angry:

I've already made my list, but thinking over it for a few days, theres another band that I am quite partial too, seen live a couple of times, which you americans may have heard of.

Steriogram - with such classics as "White Trash", and "Walkie Talkie Man"

"Walkie Talkie Man" has been used for iPod commercials in the past, and White Trash has been a classic in New Zealand for many years now.

They are also very good live, and have the distinction of having the biggest recording contract any artist in New Zealand has ever had.

Okay The Netherlands.....bands from Holland who are kinda known outside their own country.....

Golden Earring?

Kane?

Anouk?

Marco Borsato? (I doubt he's well known in England or USA, but he's popular in Italy though :pinch:)

Van Halen (lol a VERY long shot because I think Van Halen was born in the USA, his parents are just Dutch or something)

I'm probably missing one or two.

Europe? I heard the lead singer was Dutch or semi-Dutch :pervert:

The Smiths.

Pink Floyd.

Roxy Music.

The Cure.

Art Brut.

The Clash.

Clearly, this is the greatest country in the world.

Unless you count my "country" as being Jersey, in which case....eh, there's a few decent bands from here. Robot Ninja Dinosaur Bastards, FTW (although they're technically from Brighton >_>)
