Are you on PS3? If so, I'm not entirely sure, but PS3 headsets may work, plus almost any USB microphone should work as long as you have a regular controller to use for pressing A/X or whatever.

And yeah, the computer covers the rest.

I don't have a headset or anything already (thanks to my Fuck Online Gaming attitude), so I'd have to buy a new peripheral either way.

Searching for USB microphones on Amazon is a pain. I can never tell which of them are cheap shit and which aren't...

Logitech, or possibly even Singstar microphones should work just fine. Unless you're getting a fancy wireless microphone, they're all kinda crap.

Further edit: And when I say crap, I mean that they are just regular ordinary microphones.

If it has the USB connector at the end of it, it should. I had to use my friend's Karaoke Revolution microphone, and it worked totally fine. As long as you have a controller to navigate through the menus you should be fine.
