The demo for FIFA 09 is now available on Xbox Live for all Gold subscribers. There's only a few teams available as with the previous demos; Real Madrid, Shalke, Chelsea, AC Milan, Toronto FC and I think one or two more, I can't remember. It plays a fair bit differently from last year's game although I haven't played that in quite a while. This will take some getting use to, it feels looser, free-er if that makes sense but perhaps too much from what I'm used to. Still, managed to score a cracking goal with Mathieu Flamini against Toronto FC >_>

October 3rd is the release date if I remember rightly. Anyone else played the demo? What are your impressions?

I may be a fan of TFC but there is definitely something wrong with that list of teams.

Why exactly?

I have this downloaded, only had a very quick go on the arena. Will try it properly later.

Have a hard job taking them on when he's in Greece tbf.

And I love this so far. Especially the sliding tackles and the fact that through balls are possible to pull off. The celebration feature is a nice little touch as well though the novelty might wear off quickly. The whole game just feels a lot more responsive and better for it.

I would assume that FIFA sells better (per capita) in Canada than the US anyhow, we have a sizable amount of English and German league fans.

Plus I know one guy who's a huge Red Star booster :shifty:

LAst year the NY Red Bulls were in the demo so it's no big deal. I'm currently downloading the demo... but for soe reason it's taking FOREVER.

Wasn't Jozy Altidore on the cover last year? He was a NYRB player at the time so that adds credince to Will's earlier statement.

Is BMO Field in the game?

I really disliked playing in generic fields when facing most of the teams in the MLS and then not having a distinct home field to defend.

I think they're more concerned at using the big stadiums that are known world-wide. If we can't have White Hart Lane in the game, the MLS probably isn't getting their proper stadiums either.

And in the demo the only place you can play at is Wembley.
